Odemwingie Picks Wedding Date
April 25, 2012

Soviet-born Nigerian striker Osaze Odemwingie has picked the 2nd of June two weeks after the UFEA champion’s league.

According to Osaze and his fiancée Sarah they had fixed their wedding date as May 19th the date of the Champions League final and one week after the close of the Premier League, but his would-be father-in-law insisted he would not attend if Manchester City survived to the end of the competition.

“We wanted to get married the week after the season ends but when we fixed the date, Manchester City was still in the Champions League and Sarah’s dad, Mike, who is a big fan, said he’s never coming if they’re in the final, which is on that Saturday.

Osaze first plied his trade with Nigerian Premier League side Bendel Insurance, where he scored 19 goals in 53 league appearances from 2000 to 2002. He signed for Belgian club La Louvière in 2002 and made his mark by helping the club to win the Belgian Cup in his first season. Scoring nine goals in 44 appearances attracted the attention of the French Ligue 1 side Lille OSC and before long he was a starter in the first team playing in the French Ligue. Famous for his technique and pace, the Nigerian player was being monitored by a number of prestigious European clubs.

SportsRe: I Hate Football, Does That Makes Me Less Of A Man? by tchaik(m): 3:10pm On Apr 25, 2012
bolargeez: Football is a crowd sport, and I believe crowd is senseless. Why would I waste my two hours watching a game that would soon fizzle out of my memory like a scoop of ice cream. The time is better spent doing something more intellectually rewarding. Aside the crowd mentality syndrome invoke by the game, the game has programmed the people's mind to accept it as a modern day gladiators spectacle.

The shout and war of colours are so maddening. Up Blues, Red for life, I wonder what happens to Green for life. We are so engrossed with foreign own sports we neglect our own local league. Many homes are in jeorpardy simply because the bread winner has turned viewing center to his second home. A guy in my area has turned to complete Chelsea Brand Ambassador. Whereever, he his ready to flunt his blue car, sneekers, jersey, bandana, muffler and his blue girlfriend.

I beg dont discuss with me the game of yesterday, I have a more potent dough of today to make.
FOOTBALL HATERS INC.

I hope I am not alone, blunt and candid opinions are welcomed.

What happened to commonsense and reasoning? I can't understand how any adult of an average intelligence will believe a sheet-of-a-story like this; all in the name of excitement. Let's try and make use of our freely given wisdom, you dnt have to purchase it.

[quote]The suspected suicide bomber later identified as Olasunkanmi Ismail, reportedly scaled through the fence into Methodist Church at Ita-Elewa area of Ikorodu about 7.30 am.[quote]A suicide bomber aint supposed to be scalling any fence, that's why it is called suicide; you blow yourself and your victims to hell.
[quote]Suspecting his movement, some curious neighbours reportedly alerted the church’s securitymen, who subsequently apprehended Olasunkanmi, who was clad in a yellow T-shirt and a black trouser.[quote]Arrested a suicide bomber? SMH. By the way, what has he been doing before the arrest? Chewing gum?

[quote]When searched, a can covered with a paper on which was scribbled ‘open in case of emergency’ was found in his pocket.[quote]Why didn't he open the can we he was accosted? (That is before his arrest?) Was that not an emergency?

[quote]Spokesman for the Anti Bomb Explosive Ordance Disposal, EOD, Mr. Gbolahan, said it was a mere bomb scare.
According to him, “The issue is no issue, but just a scare.[quote]Definitely.

puplin: A national award for returning a lost wallet? As in, is that what the award is meant for? Smh
@puplin, for real? There is your answer:

acidtalk: We leave hardworking and sincere men out there in the cold and give National Awards to bald headed, pot bellied men and women who have carted and looted our National treasury? God will certainly intervene one day.
Look around and see our past and present heros and their families wallow away in poverty while the people that are the cause of Nigerians sufferings are celeberated!
You are a National Hero and deserve far more than a return trip to Instanbul.
@puplin, you have a lot of soul searching to do.

PoliticsRe: What Is Africa's Biggest Problem? by tchaik(m): 2:20pm On Apr 23, 2012
Rossikk: Colonial Influence.

The ONE African country that has RESTRICTED that colonial influence, by incorporating indigenous, pre-colonial governance/administrative systems into its system of government is BOTSWANA.

No surprise that Botswana has been consistently rated the LEAST corrupt nation in Africa, and among its most ADVANCED after South Africa.

What does Colonial Influence mean in practice?

It means maintaining those administrative systems introduced by, and inherited from the colonialists, WHICH MAKE IT POSSIBLE for vices like corruption and lack of accountability etc to exist and thrive. We need to radically OVERHAUL those inherited systems, like Botswana did. Do you know Botswana has a House of Chiefs as part of their govt? No issue pertaining to the nation can be discussed without incorporating those traditional elders of the country, the traditional representatives of the people, drawn from every local community.

In fact we've not started in Nigeria. We measure our success by how well we can COPY OYINBO METHODS, instead of exploring OUR OWN RICH HISTORY OF ACHIEVEMENT, and devising a suitable, home grown means of organising ourselves.
Nice one, but CORRUPTION is still 80 percent of our problems.

9izguy: Goodmorning great Nigerians. Please can someone tell me the difference between ''Certificate of state of origin and Identification certificate obtained from one's local government'' huh
emrino: If it partains 2 army recruitment (and paraventure by all standards) they're thesame.
@emrino how far? Hope say unna kill them for the exam? wink wink wink
On the questions above, I think there is a difference btw the 2. Although both can be issued by either the state headquarter / your L.G. Of origin /the L.G of residence (eg: maybe u are from warri, but u stay in Asaba); Identification Certificate can be obtained from any Police station/division, court, JP, etc. (UNLESS U WERE SPECIFICALLY ASKED TO BRING THE ONE ISSUED BY UR LG)
But in nigeria, where nothing works, they might even refer you to Aso Rock for Identification! cry cry
@ 9izguy, abeg try bring the ones u were told, these guyz no dey smile! grin grin grin

4llerbuntu: Buncha Ignoramuses

one even dey talk about jury!! in nigerian legal system? huh huh huh

is it not the case thats presented before the judge that the judge will examine before ruling?

can anyone of u argue with the barest modicum of sense that the case of the prosecution was properly collated and professionally presented such that the decision the court arrived at is perverse?

when the prosecution is not interested in doing their job and or do such a shoddy job of it, hide/subvert evidence, deliberately demonstrate incompetence, do u expect the judge to unilaterally manufacture a case against the accused?

a good example is this Erastus Akingbola case, 5 SANs supposedly did such a shoddy job that the judge threw out the case.

In high profile cases, its way easier to get the prosecutor to compromise and do a bad job, than toget a judge to overtly compromise. the best the judge can do is to covertly tell the prosecutor what to do to undermine the case!!!

u all come here to badmouth a judge without any iota of proof other than your beer parlor drunken permutations of who must be guilty and who is innocent. rubbish
RESPECT! My learned counsel, did you read the ruling well?
ariy: i. Quashing all the 170 Counts contained in the document titled “Further Amended Charges filed by the Prosecution in this matter and terminating the criminal Proceedings connected therewith on the following grounds.
ii. None of the Counts disclose a prima facie case against any or all the Accused persons.
iii. The Accused persons are not in any way linked to the offence of Money Laundering as charged by the prosecution.
iv. Constitutionally, the charges are incompetent as they constitute Delta State business of affairs which the Federal Government of Nigeria or any of its Agencies such as the EFCC is incompetent to inquire into.
SMH!!!

This was the story.....durin the inquisition Periods,it was the roman catholic that that were punishing those that were opposing their own beliefs( not the whole Christian beliefs)-mind you, they were not killing them....and contrary to what you said, there were explosive materials then!
And the reason for the punishment was because people were opposing(just like the boko haram) not because they didn't want to be a Christian....its just like if Christians wants to fight back now and treat Muslims cruelly or pickup arms.....
And again, there is no part in the bible that preaches violence...
Do we christians even bother to read our own history?
Was there anything like 'catholic church" during inquisition period?
When did 'catholic' form?
