AntiChristian:Well, everyone is entitled to his opinion. If you feel Jesus Christ spent the unrecorded years smoking igbo, it's your opinion but you are wrong. |
43Ronin:Superior could mean many things. It was only after Jesus Christ overcame all that he inherited all of God's powers. So yes, all the verses you quoted are correct but you could also add the verses where Christ was given all power to tell the complete story. Even if you don't believe it, that is the bible's position. |
AntiChristian:You seem to be more interested in looking at Christians, (humans like you). The Bible is filled with good things about Abraham, Moses, Joshua, and David. You need to stop looking into the lives of others to find fault with God. |
Your claims are funny! Anyone can find anything funny. When someone that was born by a human becomes God in your sight! Is that clownish? I understand it's funny to you only because you don't believe it. But the truth is that it is God's promise to all the faithful. Is it also funny to you that an egg can develop into a butterfly? We see these things in nature every day so I wonder why you find it funny. I guess you would be laughing all the time because nature is filled with examples of organisms growing to their full potential. That's the truth because you believed it right or because Paul said it? No because God said so. Anyways Let me stick with my points! 1. “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Matthew 24:36 How can the father be greater than Jesus when they are supposed to be co-equal in Trinity? Jesus is 100% human and 100% God remember? How can the father who is 100% God be greater than Jesus? The verses you quoted only makes my point that Jesus Christ did not start out with all knowledge and power. For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus. 1 Timothy 2:5 [i]This was Timothy speaking calling Jesus a (100%) man, not God! Timothy did not call Jesus Christ a man. 4. In John 1:18, No one has ever seen God. [i]What about Jesus? Is he not God anymore? You ask great questions. I could give you several verses in the bible where Jesus Christ is called God. Would that help you? Jesus was protected by his human parents from birth! God had to send an Angel to warn them to flee! [b]Now when they had departed, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream and said, “Rise, take the child and his mother, and flee to Egypt, and remain there until I tell you, for Herod is about to search for the child, to destroy him. What is your point here? Was God afraid he would be killed by the evil king that he had to warn his parent to protect him? God protected him, how is that a problem? what exactly is the question here? God warns and protects people how is that a bad thing? |
AntiChristian:Is that how you understand the bible? I guess you read looking out for the faults rather than the virtue. Many of the characters in the bible were portrayed as men of virtue but you seem to be on the lookout for their faults. |
AntiChristian:What's your point here? |
AntiChristian:Why is it funny? Jesus Christ has set that same path for everyone. So I don't believe in other God's so I don't see why I should mention other God's to you. Now for your correction, I did not say Jesus Christ gradually acquired his Godship. I said he gradually obtained perfection and became Almighty. I understand you don't believe it but that the truth. |
In the words of Jesus Christ, he without sin, cast the first stone. It's true that Adam's disobedience led to death and many other consequences but ask yourself, what if it were you in the garden would you have disobeyed? It's very easy to know the answer to this question. Have you ever disobeyed? If yes, then you can't blame Adam. You would have fallen just like he did. Adam sinned and so do you. |
Jokanem:Agreed, God is not a trinity. But it seems you mixed up 2 things. Jesus Christ is Jehovah so which God are you talking about? Jesus Christ (Jehovah) is a different person from his Father. You have mixed them up in your quotes. |
triplechoice:Maybe but even at that, he has a lot of explaining to do. For example, homosexuality was culturally accepted in many ancient civilizations. What makes one culture good and the other bad. |
Trollronaldo:I have no issue with someone being homosexual but you raised more questions than you answered. What is bad science? There really is nothing like bad science. Science can be applied for good or bad but science in itself is not bad. Again, how do we determine a bad culture. What makes the Gay culture bad and the straight culture good? |
Dtruthspeaker:Also, I trust you, you would never hold back if anyone called you stupid online. Do into others as you want them to do unto you. The Golden rule. |
Dtruthspeaker:Lol stupid is the opposite of wise |
AntiChristian:It stopped when he learnt all. When he became Almighty. |
Dtruthspeaker:You call someone stupid but you expect a stupid person not to insult you back. Brilliant. |
Dtruthspeaker:So you insult someone and he insults you back and you insult him more. Oga there is more to life. But you are an adult, you know what's best for you. |
AntiChristian:Now you have asked a very good question. God's power does not reduce when he gives it to you. God gave power to all the prophets but his power never decreased. To your second question. Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. 9 Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein. Let me give you an example. Imagine you are a teacher and you have a kid that has been the best in class from primary 1 to 6. Speaking about his consistency,You could say, "John has been the same from primary 1 to 6. It does not mean that John did not learn and grow. |
AntiChristian:Yes he is the same. Please quote the entire verse. That verse was speaking about the teachings and consistency of Christ. It never said he did not need to learn. Let me give you an example. Imagine you are a teacher and you have a kid that has been the best in class from primary 1 to 6. Speaking about his consistency,You could say, "John has been the same from primary 1 to 6. It does not mean that John did not learn and grow. Do you understand it now? Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. 9 Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein. |
Dtruthspeaker:Guy the purpose of the internet is not to insult everyone that disagrees with your position. We don't all have to agree but we can all be respectful. You owe Antichristian an apology. |
AntiChristian:Power and perfection did not come to Jesus Christ from day one. Hebrews 5:8-9 8 Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; 9 And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him; It took learning, Obidence and work |
AntiChristian:I am not sure you understood what I wrote. Jesus became Almighty when he overcame all. That was when all power was given to him |
Now let's begin with the definition of Almighty. It simply means having all power. So does Jesus Christ have all power? Matthew 28. 18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. The bible teaches that he has all power and that makes him Almighty. Sometimes modern Christians try to differentiate between Jesus Christ and our Father in heaven by saying only our Father in heaven is Almighty. But from this one verse, we learn that it is not true. Jesus Christ is also Almighty. Again, there is the argument that Isaiah called him the mighty God and not the Almighty God. Well even Jesus Christ himself did not claim to be Almighty until after his resurrection. He became Almighty only after he had overcome all things. Revelation 21:7 “He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. It was only after he overcame all things that he inherited all powers. Revelation 3:21 21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne. |
The next question we would be looking at in another thread is if Jesus Christ is Almighty |
christejames:Most of the knowledge gained in university is never put to use. I studied engineering and I have worked in 3 different engineering firms. Trust me, I never had to apply any of the thermodynamics or fluid mechanic calculations I learnt in school. It was like beginning all over again. |
jaephoenix:The idiot thinks he is winning some kind of debate contest. But I think he has about the lowest IQ on Nairaland. |
Dtruthspeaker:Do you have sense at all? You just told an obvious lie that most Atheist are Catholics. Please stop these unnecessary hate. Some of us are decent human beings. We don't enjoy lies being told about other organizations. |
Dtruthspeaker:Lol I see you are on fire. Accusing everyone today. At least don't be a false witness. |
Dtruthspeaker:Unfortunately for you I am not a Catholic. |
Dtruthspeaker:Stop disgracing yourselves. We understand you don't like Catholics but that's no reason to attack them with lies. Now here are the facts, In Europe, the Catholic Nations have less Atheist than the protestant nations. |
Dtruthspeaker:You talk like a child. It's not like you conducted a survey that showed that most atheist are ex-catholics. Just because you know a few Catholics who are now atheist is not enough to make uneducated conclusions. |
Janosky:You claim to be a Jehovah witness but you don't even know who you witness. To me that is fraud. |
Janosky:Your only point is that Jesus Christ is not Jehovah because he called upon his Father right? So is it written that Jehovah would never call upon his father? Or is it written that Jehovah had no Father? |
