emae009: That the Talibans are on social media should already be a sign that anybody can be online. If you're talking about Trump suspension then you have to go all the way back to when he first started using social media and not just use January incident to make a case. Since November when it was likely Trump won't return, how many post did he make online claiming he won and all that. Did he get suspended? Did his posts get deleted? the only thing was a tag that informed other users that his opinions were verifiable facts. His series of post led to a break in while Congress was in section. Before I continue, do you realize what that means The only reason he didn't get charged with treason was because none of is post was a direct order for that action... Actions have consequences.. If you think I'm lying, form a group online and start discussing how to break into Aso Rock. Then let a break in happen if you won't be among the first to be kidnapped at night
That was not the first time people would protest in Congress. Trump told his supporters to protest peacefully so it would be unfair to hold him responsible for the violence. Like you stated, none of his posts was a direct order for action. Now let's leave Trump for a while, most of last year, If anyone post that covid19 originated from a lab, that post would be taken down. Today, posts condemning the vaccines are taken down. Any post saying that the November election was stolen is taken down. In Nigeria, Buhari rejected the results of 3 elections, Atiku rejected the result of the last election. This is an undeveloped country with no freedoms mind you. If social media decides what we can say and who is right or wrong then we are in trouble. It means we must always be on the side of Mark Zuckerberg and the other big boys to get our voices heard.
Till today, Hilary Clinton claims the Russians rigged 2016 no one took down her account. Stacey Abrams claims she won the governorship election in Georgia no one is taking her accounts down. More than half the Democrats in the house at one time or the other claimed that Hilary's election was stolen. My point is we should have the freedom to say whatever we choose and we should never be held responsible for any violence unless it's a direct order for that action.
emae009: lol.. Is he going to create is own OS and mobile device? Where will it be launched on? iOS and Android right? remember what happened to Pan.... (whatever it was called). You're standing up to Big Tech as claimed but you're hosting your supposed TRUTH on Big Tech. You wail about the Talibans but it was you that signed the withdrawal agreement and pulled out half of the US forces from Afghanistan but sure it's always someone's else fault with narcissists
You obviously don't like Trump but this goes beyond Trump.
A few people today decide what we can post online. If you don't have a problem with that I would understand. You are a Nigerian a country with no understanding of true freedom

You definitely did not get his point. This has nothing to do with pulling out of Afgan. The point is, if a terrorist group like the Taliban has a presence on twitter, then everyone should.
Both Adriod and ios can refuse to host the app but all they need is a Web service. You don't necessarily need an app to operate on social media.
ScamHunter: It started in the NE as Boko Haram, now it's in NW as bandits, now it's starting in SE as Unknown Gunmen. All these have cumulatively led to the death of thousands of soldiers. Now I've been wondering which country survives a war against itself. With three regions at war with Nigeria, commonsense should tell you that the country is in trouble unless something is done and fast.
Is it the SS and NC that won't agitate? As far as I know, even Niger is now mostly under BH cum Bandits so what's left of NC? With the killings in Benue and Plateau, who knows how long before the people there would say enough is enough?
That brings us to the subject of the SW or YorubaLand which is suddenly calm after Sunday Igboho question was settled. I have no doubt that the SW will become the most peaceful region since as far as we know, it is the only region that is ready to succumb and hand over their ancestral land to Fulani without a fight. So, it is actually going to become the most peaceful region. Why don't other regions embrace peace like our SW brethren. After all, Fulani are only interested in land - forest land they've already occupied in YorubaLand. If this peaceful tribe can condone the capture of their territory, why can't all other tribes?
I can imagine how you felt when this thoughts came to your mind. You felt you just struck gold and couldn't wait to share it on nairaland. I guess you are Igbo. Most Igbo have lots of commonsense and they think before they post. But some of you keep making us look rash aND foolish online.
ityP: Which custom? That custom no dey pay bride price? Abi na the woman dey pay bride price
That's why I told you to carry out your research first. Not all traditions and cultures are the same in Africa. I annoys me when whites think we African have 1 set culture but when a fellow African thinks that way, It's far worse.
maureensylvia: Only women who are married monogamously under the marriage act (in court or in an approved church) have the right to say “My husband is cheating on me”! If you are only married traditionally, your husband never vowed to be faithful to you!
when you are married only under native law and custom your husband has the right to marry as many wives as he wants and there is NOTHING you can do about it. Also your children belong to him custody wise under native law and custom.
Constrictive criticism is allowed
In some customs, the children belong to the woman so you have to be specific on the custom you are referring to. Next time, come up with a complete research
CSTR2: China is poorer on per capital basis but that is a given.
They are 1.3 billion people, while the whole of Europe combined is not up to a billion.
But they are richer in wealth than any European nation.
China is a lot of times richer than Norway in almost every way except pee capital.
Their economy is comparable to the whole of Europe combined. And they have managed to reduce poverty drastically in a rate unprecedented in human history.
India is an anomaly because there is a lot of corruption there. So a lot of their wealth is not reducing poverty as much as they would like.
Per capital is the only way that matters. Nigeria is also richer than Norway if you choose to look at it through that lens. Our gdp is $432 billion and theirs is $362 billion. India is also richer than norway based on gdp. But Then, Norway has a higher quality of life than China, a higher productivity per capital and much greater individual wealth.
By the way, I lived in the East for almost a decade and I can tell you Anambra has more Igbos than any other state in Nigeria. That you are exaggerating or lying to ignoramus.
Well, whatever makes you sleep well. Lagos remains the biggest Igbo state.
CSTR2: China is the second largest economy on Earth. Lol. They produce more billionaires than any country in the world.
They are highly highly prosperous country. Don't let their govt deceive you. They deliberately downplay their economy to earn a developing country status and all the trade benefits it entails.
The igbos are a business people just like others are also business people.
Business people can be found everywhere.
The only difference is that many igbos can afford air travel while others can only afford road.
China is actually poorer than most countries in Europe in terms of individual wealth. India for example has the 6th largest economy but Norway is a much wealthier nation. 2 different things. China is a middle-income nation like Brazil and Chile. I would be happy to learn how China is downplaying its economy. Just send the links to your sources.
forgiveness: You are asking where I got my stats from have you told me where you got your own stats from?
My man, Lagos State is dominated by Yorubas and they are 5 times the population of any Ethnic group in Nigeria.
How come everywhere you go, you here them speak Yoruba?
You hear them speaking Yoruba because that's the only language you understand. I am Igbo, I speak Yoruba. I don't know the part of Lagos you stay in but go around your city and find out. We have more Igbos in Lagos than in Anambra. ut then, no need for this argument lets hope the government would one day take a census of Lagos with tribal demography in mind.
CSTR2: Air travel is a significant measure of prosperity.
Na who get money dey enter plane.
The most prosperous countries have the busiest airports.
It's not a coincidence or a negative statistics.
Even if insecurity dey anywhere , if you don't have money, you won't enter plane. Na road you go still pass and plead the blood of Jesus.
well as much as you have a point, most of the busiest airports in the world are in China. note China is not among the 20 richest nations on earth. So we cannot always conclude that air travel is a measure of prosperity. Again, in the US the 3 busiest airports are Atlanta, Georgia, Dallas Texas, and Denver, Colorado not necessarily the richest cities. The Igbos are obviously the business class in Nigeria so they travel more. The average Igbo man lives outside the Southeast hence the need to travel.
Mrsoft3: We need to eat local rice more often, imagine the millons of dollars we are enriching other countries. How will our economy ever grow this way. It saddens me how we Nigerians can't encourage one another to become better and spend this money in the country. Presently there is scarcity of money, the flow is directed to places it is not needed that often.
We need to start buying and producing, this is the only way we can get better. Rome was not built in a day
Modified Let me enlightened you on this quickly
See the north east states Maiduguri, yobe Adamawa Bauchi are the largest producers of beans in Nigeria, it is a sad thing the insurgency that has affected this regions, farmers died, some where displaced and now staying in idps, the others remaining are scared of going to farm.
The Nigeria population is increasing everyday with no sustainable development or plan to ensure safety and good health. Initially even with this states we still didn't meet up with production, in the space of 10 years the price of beans has increased dramatically and it all point out to the low supply and high demand.
Now fast forward to our present day, the north west and central are being ravage by bandits and herdsmen. Many where killed, many are being displaced. The rest put of fear won't go to farm. Many are being maimed and hands cut off this is the present situation up north, we are now left with lesser supply in the market, I tell you the level of food scarcity this country will face next year eyes has not seen neither has ear heard.
It is true naira fell furthermore to the dollars and cost of import goods increase, I wonder why Nigeria still imports fertilizer, aside that we don't even have the larger number of farmers going to farm, rain and climate change affected alot of harvest in the country...hike in price is inevitable, the risk of transporting grains in Nigeria has trippled, we must eat. What are we going to do.
It's not like local rice is cheap. The problem is that Nigeria has one of the lowest rice yields per acre in the world at 2 tonnes per acre. Already, both our federal and state governments have poured billions into growing rice. Our governments invest more in rice farming than any other crop. If I were in charge, I would rather invest in crops with high yields in Nigeria, export them then, allow the import of rice. That way, we could balance the foreign exchange and grow the agric sector.
We are importing 2 million tonnes. That is 40 million bags of rice. at N20,000 that is N800 billion or about 2 billion dollars. Within the last 8 years, both federal and state governments have budgeted more than this on rice cultivation.
Inspirelove: What do you expect ? considering the proximity of Ibadan t Lagos, should it even have an Airport ? except for congestion that might happen at Lagos Airport, whichever way Ibadan is fine, if we want to develop the Airport it would not take anything to do so.
My guy let's face it, no one would want to travel from Lagos to Ibadan by road if he could fly. With the traffic and the state of the road, everyone would rather fly. I have nothing against Ibadan. I actually love the city but we must all accept that the Igbos being the business class of Nigeria would definitely travel more. Let me give you a clear picture If an airplane carries an average of 70 people, from the stats above, it means only 70 aircraft flew into Ibadan airport in 90 days. This is less than a plane per day. That means that the airport is being run at a loss.
forgiveness: Anambra should have 5m population. More than 5m SE in Lagos?
Well, that’s not the point. Yoruba are 5 times the population of any ethnic group in Lagos.
Yes, more than 5million Igbos in Lagos. Let me give you a picture, If you go right now to my village in the southeast, you would discover that the number of people staying there is far less than those in Lagos. Every Igbo village has a vibrant community in Lagos. We all hold our end-of-the-year meetings in Lagos. Ask any of your Igbo friends. We are a traveling people and many of us have made the big cities our home. Where do you get your stats from? Yorubas don't makeup to half the population of Lagos. Even traditional Yoruba areas like Ikorodu are becoming very watered down. Lagos is a cosmopolitan city.
Iyaebe: This is sacrilege, has modernization taken the better part of him?he should be punished.
Oya punish him na. He was clearly disrespectful according to Yoruba tradition which should be a shame to him. But this should be a free country, you don't go to jail for shaking an Oba
Tochiology: Hmm! From that data, Abuja had more air traffic compared to Lagos and it's somehow unbelievable.
Again, how come Owerri's air traffic is increasing even to the extent it is higher than that of Kano inspite of the seeming insecurity in the region and the incessant seat at home orders? Does it mean that the city is more economically viable than we think? Food for thought!
Stats can really be incredible at times.
Air travel is just one small measure of an economy. Again, the high air traffic in Owerri could be linked to insecurity as most people would not want to make the journey by land. Finally, Igbos are the business class and travelers, they are by far the highest air travelers so these stats are no surprise.
Originalsly: ...I don't check up with funeral homes! ... I didn't mean like you with your iPad visiting funeral homes making inquiries! Guess it depends on where you live and your routes. Where I live funeral homes and hospitals are pretty much unavoidable ... the coldstorage trailers were everywhere and a funeral home is always walking distance away. The data publicized is the ground zero for misinformation.
Empiree: see how you stylishly avoided your own Bible because you know how disgusting those Bible verses are. You will never see such disgusting judgements in the QUR'AN
Originalsly: How many people usually die? ... is this not the usual number of daily deaths? Do you see funerals homes extra busy? ... more daily deaths than early last year yet we don't see a single refrigerated truck to store the bodies nor hear of hospital mortuary out of storage space. The pandemic is in the media.
In the us, more people have died from civid this year than last year. I must confess, I don't check up with funeral homes I only use the data available to me.
Skyfornia: Decency and morality have been alienated in our society today.. especially from our women. Shame no dey catch them again. Majority of them are doing their worst to outdo each other...tueh!
Which one is the women again? Are they the ones fucking themselves. We are must take personal responsibility
stayclearofme: Your observation is right. NL promotes tribalism no thanks to the moderators that cannot follow their own rules. The moderators here are the most terrible people on earth, worst than Buhari! They are very myopic, bias, incompetent and of course tribalistic all they care about is the traffic on NL. I hate their attitude with a passion.
The nairaland rules are useless. First I am an advocate of free speech. I don't believe that any form of speech should be banned unless it is shown that it can directly harm someone physically. The repressive laws cannot be sustained without endangering personal freedoms.
ezechi24: one of the most useless igbo men in the history of mankind.....the most corrupt igbo man in the history of mankind .....i be igbo man but i'll rather vote in tinubu, though the later is highly stoopid and corrupt but he is no where near the former.
Empiree: you are super hypocrite but I'm not surprised. You will receive sense by force. I showed you Christian soldiers beat up and forced Christianity on suspect but you downplayed it. I showed you Christian manifesto you said it is so local. So local but you are still pursuing the agenda. You think we foolish?
Your big point is, soldiers beat people and some Christian group wrote a stupid manifesto hence it is right to brutalize kids. I finally understand you.
