South Africa has applied to the UN Security Council for Denel to be allowed to sell the land-based variant of the Umkhonto surface-to-air missile to Iran. Since July 2015, UNSCR 2231 has required case-by-case approval of certain types of systems to Iran. How much does a unit cost? |

weedtheweeds: I remember when port Harcourt first son Duncan Mighty posted a pic of him and the militants, and that is a patriotic artist giving support to his brothers in their hard-fought struggle. This shameless Flavour has not voiced his support for Biafra or for Nnamdi Kanu. He traveled all the way to Liberia to support soldier there instead of using his star power to push for the release of his brother. Is someone of his caliber not a good tool to agitate for the release of Nnamdi Kanu? Pictures of Liberian soldier do not break the jinx for us. Those are Nigerian, Pakistani and Liberian soldiers. |

all in all, i think Seun is a genius. from his small idea about ten years ago, he has given us something to express ourselves and to tell the African narative by ourselves. i do hope that the community grows into the wider world outside Africa. Kindly do this ASAP and let me know. I'll be a frequent contributor. |

Lockheed Martin to recoat U.S. Air Force F-22s
Lockheed Martin has received a $40 million contract modification to sustain the U.S. Air Force's F-22 Raptor fleet.
Under the agreement, the company will strip and recoat F-22 coatings reverting earlier than initially expected.
Work on the contract will be performed at various locations in California, Georgia, Utah and Texas. The U.S. Department of Defense expects the work to be completed by the end of June 2019.
Lockheed Martin received $6.4 million at the time of the modification award. The project will be managed by the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center located in Hill Air Force Base, Utah.
The F-22 Raptor is a 5th-generation tactical stealth fighter first introduced in December 2005. Lockheed Martin says the plane is designed to perform air superiority missions. The jet is typically armed short-range missiles and long-range missiles with beyond-visual-range capabilities. It can also fire air-to-surface weapons. |

nemesis2u: well the LCA has few months back entered squadron service , now thousands of pages of manuals relating maintenance, operation , flight tactics r being written.
mean while air chiefs of 1 or 2 countries have themselves flown the LCA , Myanmar might have second thoughts about FC1/JF17 if the American engine is replaced by indian kaveri engine.
present government is very tough on both DRDO and air force forcing it to play a pro active role in marketing LCA , Indian efforts in these direction r kept mostly secret to resist interference/pressure from other countries.
LCA went to bahrain air show and will be present in all future big airshow events provided all goes well.
MOD is trying to get private player into establishing their own production line for LCA but they r reluctant to take the risk , who knows things might change in the future with LCA mk2 , if close to 400 of them r ordered .
all depends on this government on being reelected again .
do u know the indian airforce test pilots claim that the LCA is better than a mirage 2000 calling it a mini mirage 2k , which is a good thing becz LCA was designed to replace MIG 21 How much is the export version of TEJAS. |
