Bomb Shell ... on house of cards ![]() Naija una no go kill person. but OP where the link to the source?? |
As certain on-line new sites have been reporting that Bill Gates has cancelled a scheduled visit to Nigeria in protest at the Federal Government's pardon to ex-Bayelsa State Governor, DSP Alamieyeseigha, a NaijaPundit investigation has shown that this news story is false. The site that reported this story cited a 'source' but did not produce one shred of verifiable information beyond quoting sources. However a check on the website for the Bill Gates foundation has shown that no such visit was planned or cancelled. The search also shows that none of the activities of the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation has been scaled back with regards to Nigeria. Furthermore, a pundit while discussing with NaijaPundit revealed that it is most unlikely that a non political and Non Governmental Body like the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation would take such a stance as it would be seen as venturing into politics which would run against their charter. The pundit said that the only reason why foundations withdraw from nations is if their safety is not assured by incidences like terrorism of which the Boko Haram insurgency is one, or for fraudulent use of their resources. Our readers may want to go to the Bill and Melinda Gates website themselves if you click here. (http://www.gatesfoundation.org/) http://www.naijapundit.com/news/bill-gates-foundation-website-puts-lie-to-claims-he-canceled-nigeria-visit NB: I didnt see any such message in www.gatesfoundation.org am i missing something? |

The African Peoples Congress on Friday alleged that some elements “inspired” by the merger group of the Action Congress of Nigeria, All Nigeria Peoples Party and Congress for Progressive Change were after its key officers. The rival APC, in an email sent to journalists in Abuja by its Acting Secretary, Sa’id Balogun, said the alleged plot was part of moves to thwart its registration. It said, “The APC has uncovered plots by some faceless persons believed to be inspired by desperate elements in the so-called merger group to attack and possibly eliminate key officers of the African Peoples Congress. “This came to light barely twenty four hours after APC, its national headquarters, logo, manifesto and constitution were unveiled to Nigerians and indeed Africa.” The party did not, however, name the key officers that were pencilled for elimination. “After the elaborate event and appraisal meetings and stakeholders’ interactions that followed at the National headquarter, most officers of the party left the secretariat late yesterday (Thursday). “At about 10.15pm when an officer of the party, Hon Dan Iloabanafo, and some administrative staff were getting ready to close the secretariat for the day, two men came round the backside of the office claiming they wanted to register as members of the party, a feature that has become common place in the secretariat. But Iloabanafo advised them to come back the next day or any other week day. “The hoodlums insisted they preferred to be registered immediately, and while the party officer was trying to explain things to them, they pulled out guns and demanded the whereabouts of the acting chairman who had left the secretariat earlier,” the party said. It said the merger group on learning about its unveiling of logo rushed off to the media. The party said, “As their helter-skelter search for means to undermine the APC continues, we wish to alert Nigerians of their grand plot of smuggling a back-dated application for registration into the INEC, an action that could plunge Nigerian democracy into the woods of lawlessness. For APC, that is most unacceptable. “It is indeed pathetic that same people that claim to pursue the deepening of democracy cannot abide by the letters of the constitution and due process. “While the merger racketeers continue to fiddle, the APC leadership would be paying a visit to the victims of the Madalla bomb blast this weekend as an expression of our people-centred objectives.” Reacting to the allegations, ACN spokesman, Lai Mohammed, challenged the rival APC to reveal its sponsors. He asked, “Do you remember in the 1990s that there was an association called the Association for Better Nigeria? The group came up but it soon fizzled out after it scuttled the June 12 elections. “This is another ABN, what they want to do is to scuttle this democracy. Let them reveal those really behind them because, what you are seeing are the puppets; we will reveal the puppeteer within the next few days.” Also speaking, CPC National Publicity Secretary, Rotimi Fashakin, accused the unregistered group of desperation. He stated, “You know, the Bible says the wicked runs while no one pursues. I don’t really understand, is it that poverty is very endemic that they are doing this? “The same metaphor comes up each time we are approaching elections. These reactionary elements come up on election day to give people N20, N50, N100 to vote for them and the sorrows of the people will be multiplied for four years. “Don’t you think it is high time that the people rose against these people that have continually held them in bondage? I think it is time for Nigerians to send a clear message.” Meanwhile, several anomalies seen in Form PA 1, submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission by the promoters of African Peoples Congress have cast doubts on the authenticity of the application. Copies of the form, which were made available to journalists at a news briefing in Abuja on Friday, indicated that the one used by group seeking the endorsement of INEC to transform into a political party was different from the standard application for registration forms used by the commission for such purposes. For example, whereas the INEC form can only be hand-filled with the use of a pen, the APC apparently generated and filled theirs on-line. Also, the original INEC forms do not have demarcations in the column for names of the national executive committee members and other officers of the proposed political party. Curiously, the one submitted by the APC has obvious demarcations. Apart from this, on the page tagged, ‘Date of filling Application with the Commission” in the APC’s form, it was observed that while the proposed party put the date as March 1, 2013, those who signed it put March 12, 2013 under their names. Those who signed the application are the National Chairman, Chief O.M. Ikeagwuonu and the National Secretary, Mr. Saidi Balogun. Both officers insist that the document is genuine and that it was from the commission. However, while Balogun said there could have been a mistake due to time constraint, Ikeagwuonu said the party was right. Speaking at a news briefing in Abuja on Friday, a group, which gave its name as Concerned Nigerians, said the APC rushed to the commission to seek registration in order to scuttle plans by opposition political parties, who had chosen the name, All Progressives Congress. Those who spoke at the conference were: Mr. Salihu Lukman, Mahmud Abdullahi, Kawu Idris and AbdulAminu Ahmed. The group alleged that an unnamed top official of the Presidency was the brain behind the act, adding that some officers within the commission were still card-carrying members of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party. Saturday PUNCH also visited the secretariats of two of the three political associations seeking INEC’s endorsement. At the proposed national headquarters of the African Peoples Congress located on Plot 983, Ahmadu Bello Way, opposite Apo Legislative Quarters, it was observed that technicians were installing electrical fittings while some others were seen putting up the party’s banner in and around the building. Searches conducted on its website: www.apcparty.com on Thursday and Friday revealed that the site is still being developed. A message on the site read: “Welcome, this domain was recently registered at namecheap.com the domain owner may currently be creating a great site for this domain please check back later!” An Internet search for the identity of the Protem National Chairman of the African Peoples Congress, Chief Onyiye M. Ikeagwuonu, did not yield any result. He also did not respond to enquiries about his vocation nor was he willing to give any detail about himself. The other claimant of the APC acronym: All Patriotic Citizens, one Mr. Oliva Chidi Ike, who claimed to be its National Director of Operations, sent two names: Aliyu Jibrin and Abubakar Saulawa and Chief Christian Oti as members of the National Working Committee. However, the group has said it is no longer interested in using the acronym APC because of the controversy it has generated. However, one of our correspondents visited the proposed National Headquarters of the party located at Plot 1385, Gurara Street, off IBB Way, Maitama, Abuja and discovered that it was the former National Headquarters of the Congress For Democratic Change, which was one of 28 parties deregistered by INEC in 2012. http://www.punchng.com/news/merger-group-leaders-after-us-rival-apc/ |
the inferiority of the black woman/man can never be cured. Why bother to look like other race?? Whats wrong with the black hair?? Indian hair, Peruvian hair, Brazilian hair, Chinese hair etc etc, but you will never see a black hair or Nigerian hair. We complain the developed economies or the west dump expired tech products here, now its other nations that started the journey as developing countries that dump the waste of their barbing saloons on the head of Nigerian ladies. And the ladies are more than happy paying for a barbers waste. Insult upon injury! |
A supposedly smart general was caught napping in a palace coup. The only palace coup ever in this country. Had not even the balls to fight back rather valued his dear life to the detriment of his teaming supporters and Nigerians who he condemned to 19yrs of darkness all because he was so clueless and liver less didnt even put up knife talk-less a gun. General indeed. |
The Founder of the pan Yoruba group, the Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC), Dr. Fredrick Fasehun has called on the Federal Government to urgently revoke all oil bloc licences in the country. He also called for open bidding and reallocation of the oil wells on the basis of equity, transparency, due process and federal character with provisions that local communities must control a minimum of 25 per cent holding in any oil bloc. Speaking with journalists in Lagos yesterday, Fasehun said the national Assembly should go a step further and entrench the principle of derivation in the constitution. “During the debate on the Petroleum Industry Bill, it came to light that businessmen of Northern origin have cornered 83 per cent of oil blocs in the Niger Delta. While no one should begrudge private businesses their right to do business, patriotic Nigerians owe it an obligation to resist a bidding process that allocates oil wells in clear violation of transparency, equity, due process and federal character,” he said. Fasehun said the higher percentage own by the Northerners “is a glaring manifestation of corruption, tribalism, nepotism, dictatorship and injustice that characterised the military eras of Generals Ibrahim Babangida, Abdulsalami Abubakar and Sani Abacha, adding that such inequitable distribution of the national commonwealth violates the principle of federal character as enshrined in the constitution. |

Blame everything on PDP. Some are undisputed number one on blames. If actually the story is true (that PDP is sponsoring registration of another APC), then this shows these APC guys are just learners. Is it now a crime to register a party?? If you conceive an acronym and i conceive same, the law recognizes whoever registers it first. Stop crying foul and blame before the match. Get busy working already. |

Less than 24 hours after the Senate asked President Goodluck Jonathan to fire the embattled Chairman of the Pension Reform Task Team, Dr. Abdulrasheed Maina, the embattled Maina, spoke from his hiding yesterday, alleging that the pension cabal was after his life and not just his sack. Before reaching Maina on phone yesterday, sources in his office had told Daily Sun that the task team boss hadmaintained a low profile, shortly after he was declared wanted by the police, on the instruction of the Senate. One of the sources said: “If you recall, the last time he appeared at the Senate, security was provided for him. But as we speak, all the guards have been completely withdrawn and the seeming involvement of the Senate and the police in the alleged plot to get at him at all cost, is a further indication that it will be suicidal for him to show up or even appear in the public for whatever reasons. And it has further shown that the cabal after him has infiltrated the police and the Senate. “But here is a man, through whose effort, over N200 billion was recovered and saved for the country, among many other achievements. The records are there for all to see,” the source added. It was lso gathered that most of the staff members of the office had since taken cover, following reports that the police might arrest all of them, since it had been unable to arrest Maina. Speaking from his hiding yesterday, embattled Maina said that “I am fast losing confidence in the country called Nigeria. Imagine, I have suddenly become a villain for saving the country billions of naira, being stolen daily by pension thieves. “I’m saddened, demoralised by the whole mess. It is baffling that the hunter has become the hunted. It is simply ridiculous. How can one continue to fight for the country and the poor pensioners, when the system is so rotten to the effect that the thief catcher is being branded as the thief ? “Already, I have gone to court to redeem my name, save my team, with a view to go further to expose the big names behind the cabal. But with what I have seen so far, I doubt if Nigeria is worth dying for,” Maina added. http://www.naijapundit.com/news/i-am-innocent-and-pension-cabal-want-to-kill-me-says-maina |
APC PDP are they not same thing? How could you select president/VP at formation of party?? If they are to be a model to replace PDP are they not supposed to throw it open so any member of the party APC can contest for any position and if he/she wins majority vote, then they project the person. If this news is true, i laugh at those hanging their hopes on APC. Crash at Takeoff. |
What offence did Mr Maina commit if i may ask?? |
Will APC implement true Federalism? |
What is El-rufai's son doing with this information?? It may guide NLs on what to do with the info. |
Gej should learn from keshi. Gen. Buhari should also learn from keshi by inspiring young nigerians to lead the nation. He must not be the one. Keshi didnt go to get old players like okocha , iroha etc to play even though these older players hav more experience. |
