chineji: Did I talk about Italian women? I have never met such beautiful women in my life. Beautiful and very interesting. I used to think it was impossible for women to be interesting and funny but white women proved me so wrong. My Co workers were always so fun to have conversations with. They knew absolutely everything about everything cause they read a whole lot. In Italy, the women are always smiling all the time ( it's a total different ball game in most African countries where most women are always ugly and angry all the time) and the greetings omg. It's not weird to hug a woman and give her a peck on both cheeks and say bounjourno or bounesera depending on what time of the day it is. La spezia had a lot of beautiful women but then we took a road trip to Milan and it was like a total different ball game. It was just like a real life miss world beauty pageant.
Italian women are the most beautiful I have ever seen in my life. I just pray I can marry a Nigerian because ever since I got back all the girls are just ugly to my eyes Milan is the fashion capital... So yes you will meet lovely beautiful carinas.. They will smile as well.. Not thinking of how to survive with odds greatly stacked against them as our Naija chicks. The Economy may not be very strong but they have Brussels to fall back on, till the Squeeze is cranked up and a 'Greece' situation is created So being fashionable is an inert thing for most Italian women. They get up to 2 holidays a year dedicated to spring-cleaning their wardrobes and updating their clothes!!! For crying out loud! . |

chineji: Italy.
I really used to be one of those who used to feel that someday Africa would get it right. That things are not as bad as we imagine it to be, that somehow black people are actually not stupid as other races think but being in Italy totally changed my mind. I have been living in darkness all my life and in Italy I saw light. First of all, once the ship crossed into Italian waters, I noticed the ocean water to be very blue (in most African countries it's usually very brown and dirty when you are close to port). You could literally see your face inside. We docked in a small town called la spezia. La spezia is a village by European standards and the scenery totally blew my mind away. As soon as I left the ship to see town. I just couldn't stop cursing all the leaders in Africa past and present and the idiot citizens who support their ineptitude. I was in an European village and there was freaking WiFi everywhere. The roads omg. I have been to more than 10 African countries in my short life span and I have never seen roads of this standard before. Public transportation. We got no public transportation in Africa. Our buses and trains are all shit. The public buses in Italy were
The roads just blew me away over and over again. The way the roads were built with considerations for pedestrians and cyclist. It was just strange to me that people could actually live like this, people could actually live sane.
I love automobiles, when I am not reading or working in them. I watch YouTube videos and drool on my favourite models I cant afford but here my favourite models were being used as taxis. Cars that would be used by Rich elite Nigerians being used as taxis and the kind of cars Italians drive gosh. I saw so many recent BMWs, Mercedes, audis and volkswagens. Cars I didn't even think we're out on the road. It was so unreal to me. Meanwhile in Nigeria, someone would do a thanksgiving ceremony for being able to buy a piece of crap camry or corolla. La Spezia is not a village but a city..A tourist spot In the Cinque Terra... So you're bound to see a lot of well-heeled Italians, loads of Northern Europeans who holiday there regularly. Services have been designed likewise to meet needs of this clientele. Liguria is a really beautiful area... Nature meets good nurture. With French influence... Lovely!! More importantly, it's Northern Italy, well known to be economically better than its Southern counterparts. Lastly, Italy's transport system is quite ace!! Particularly when comparing cost to service. Italy has one of the cheapest rail travel costs in Europe!! . |

TheUmbra: Toks2008 at it again! Like me you'd never sacrifice truth for convenience.
You've spoken the truth. There're two types of people who would oppose your view as expressed in your article, one for each gender.
Most guys that would oppose your views here were either brought up by their moms or they have an abusive father. And they've come to hate the male folk and everything that seems to associate with their authority and advantage.
The other group are feminists from the female gender who may hate men for the same reason stated earlier.
But their views have no influence on reality. Once a woman was once married and steps out of her marriage in the name of divorce, there's only one thing in the mind of the average man - she's second hand. To be controversial, I would argue the same goes for men, to a lesser degree... I remember a previously divorced male friend who had to convince the family of the 2nd fiancée greatly that he wasn't about to leave their daughter in the lurch despite the divorce being clearly the result of the 1st wife's misdemeanours!!! So there's a consequence. Male or female... Simply worse for the females given the Naija society!!! ******* To the comment about a 42yr old woman developing hypertension.... And the bla bla about women feeling lonely... Times are changing... Women are becoming more accepting of a life of solitude.. They get involved in other stuff outside of work. The occasional sweetboy ministration if the mechanical 'friend' is getting boring.. With spermbanks, co-parenting websites, becoming widely available, she gets a baby alongside, if she so desires without the shackles of a man breathing down her neck... So the game is changing, brothers... We're being rapidly influenced by information on SM.. If it obtains elsewhere, it's a matter of time before it infiltrates our society.. Denmark remains a case study!! . . |

EgunMogaji: American courts are insanely pro women so for her to loose a rape case, a violent assault on a woman and in Texas, to me means either it wasn’t true rape or her evidence was whacked. 3 gbosa to you sir..... It simply irritates me when following any discontent in relationships or relationship breakdown, these lily-livered women scream rape... IMHO, it has trivialised the word and inherently the crime.. As much as character referencing is stereotypical and extremely subjective with undertones of racism, sexism or ethnic bias, I feel this may be a useful tool to bring a sense of balance and proportionate response to these often crude accusations. People have to understand you can't hurl accusations wildly.. It hurts families, destroys careers and even kills.. Many lives have been lost. . |

Updates on UWOs..... The high profile UWO case of a jailed banker's wife from an Eastern European country is in the news again. Jewellery worth £400k has been recently seized from an auction house. It was to be auctioned with her daughter as proxy or new owner.. .. Possibly to raise funds This opens up the playing field.......... The value of some of the objects in this case are well below the £50k benchmark but more importantly there is no clear congruent link with time of purchase or type of ownership of these objects with time of receipt of perceived proceeds of corruption(poc) . Its all assumed to be poc. Now there's growing consideration to move the scope of investigation beyond ownership of houses/properties, cars, luxury items to investigating affordability of private schools and possibly university education. I wonder who will be coughing up the money.. The schools or parents in the event of a successful order/conviction Poor child's education truncated.!!! Looks like UK is about to put another nail in their declining 'education proceeds' coffin. Germany, Netherlands and Sweden is looking exceptionally attractive Foreign campuses of Ivy League schools will also appeal. . |

1)she went to bank in the morning......and the gateman was still asleep even when she came back..lemme assume she went to use ATM as early as 6 am
2)she employed the cook and gateman just 3 days b4 the man was murdered......
3) what did the man do to the cook b4 he/she murdered him?
4)the cook wasn't interested in taking anything,but the man's life?.....#highered killer
5)the music was increased to the highest volume.....and this couldn't wake the gateman?
6)the previous gateman was sacked for no reason.....
7)employed a cook when the family isn't large
8 who taught cook how to increase the volume of the woofer.... assuming he/she is illiterate
9)"......on her way back, she called the husband, but couldn't hear what he was saying".......hmmmm,
10) all this there was no intention to employ a cook until last Sunday..... especially when the former loyal and trusted gateman was sack?
11)how come the woman hastily accused the cook of killing her husband even b4 the police investigation?
12) what kind of gateman is that security man that can't even hear honking of a car, late in the morning
13)why did she call her husband despite she was on her way hime . probably she wanted to confirm 'something' (maybe to make sure someone is lifeless) b4 returning home or for alibi sake?
14) how was she able to hear his voice during the phonecall, when the music was loud?
15). a male beninois cook for Nigerian dishes.......?a foreign himgher killer and he is probably on this way to Benin Republic to make it hard for police to investigate.that was why a Nigerian higher killer wasn't employed
the madam as well as the new employees should be questioned

Seahawk: The comments on this post are why women don’t report rape. You all concluded she must be lying. Because it’s impossible for a rapist to try to torment his victim by claiming the child? Bunch of jokers.
Many of you are rapists who have actually raped people before while the rest of you will probably not hesitate to do so when the opportunity arises. That’s why I’m not surprised. Don't throw aspersions around.. No need to get emotive here.. The court threw the case out.. That's good enough for me to think all doesn't add up.. Its women who don't get a tight case and insist on a personal metoo campaign that create all forms of narratives that put real rape victims in a quagmire.. Let's stop this 'Potipher's wife syndrome ' and we may get more clarity on the issue. . |

I read with awe, shock and sometimes pity mired in disgust, stories of women who feel aggrieved by wrong-doings meted out to them by men-folk. These were women who have had dalliances with these men under ‘FWB’, ‘one night stand’, ‘loosely exclusive’, ‘side-chick’, ‘sponsor’ arrangements who are now crying ‘wolf’ as things have gone rather sour. I often think .. “You were in a relationship that had no pre-set boundaries or definition as you had something to gain. You only cry out when things have not gone your way or there is a perception of wrong-doing: Then there is a sudden realisation of vulnerability particularly if a lot financially/ emotionally is at stake.” “Suddenly I have been wronged with no admission of how I contributed to being wronged: i.e. being less assertive or repeatedly engaging in sub-optimal behaviour”… are the offered explanations. Glaring omissions on the woman’s part such as taking personal responsibility, placing boundaries, working a little harder to pre-define the dalliance or using contraception in some cases which might have prevented this drama are often left unsaid, I muse. These actions or perceptions of wrong are labelled broadly under the rape clause. I am no lawyer and will make no pretence to be knowledgeable about legal matters, particularly the technicalities but common sense should prevail. I find absurd that culpability only belongs to only one party but not both of the people involved in the sins of the flesh. The probability of ‘vulnerability’ has become the umbrella that houses every guileless woman who feels wronged by her ex-lover’s dismissal of her ‘love’ or attraction in some cases. This is not a new fad/ occurrence as representations are found even in the bible… Remember Potiphar’s wife who cried rape when Joseph spurned her advances in honour of his master and his personal religious beliefs… hmmm mmm: You’re getting the picture!! Unfortunately many Josephs abound. In the Nigerian context, where patriarchy is king, these Josephs have often eaten of the poisoned apple or have drunk from the poisoned chalice and find the task of restitution onerous at best when labelled guilty. On the flip side, some of these women find this activity of being positioned as the vulnerable party, effectively increases public sympathy and by default legitimises their part in the said action, absolving them of all culpability: sometimes granting them access to financial redress. This is broadcast on social media as acceptable and the cycle is never-ending.
****************************** My piece is not to the Josephs as society and nature to an extent, somehow protects them, but to the young women who feel they can take on risks/ participate in risky behaviour without a consequence. As a saying goes… there is no free lunch in Freetown. Whether these walks on the dark side is borne out of a promised financial inducement, or simply a need to participate in sexual role-plays to entice a (would-be) lover without properly defined boundaries, lack of a good role model or lack of good home-training, there is a consequence or a price to your actions. Be prepared to pay it.
The courts of justice or of public opinion may not always rule in your favour... As Society may rather frown at; and not tolerate or excuse your behaviour. People have lost their livelihood, families, financial independence and sometimes their good mental health, walking down this thorny path that initially appeared rosy. So prevention is better than cure, if at all there is a cure!!To Future sweet girls/ boys, unplanned baby mamas/ papas, babygirls, small girls with a big gods or sponsors. Be warned….. there is a price to pay: sometimes much more than what was gained initially or even bargained for. Posterity reveals much but often too late for the central actor. Let him/her that has functional ears, hear. shalom!! |

The incidence rates are much higher than that quoted for GD, PET/Eclampsia and miscarriages..
Our poor record keeping has not helped identify true incidence/prevalence as most maternal deaths are unexplained... "village people"
So folks these conditions are more common than expected, more so in our population.
Prevention is key, having a good and regular antenatal care is imperative, a necessity not a luxury
