Some process ongoing
sinorte:
Really? Just to confirm they had received it? Or could it be that some processing would have been ongoing on the passport before the conformation mail?

About 2-4 working days

Submit your passport with your 8 months validity, you will still get your passport stamped. When you get to Canada You can do the remaining passport renewals and extensions. wink
Jay5050:
Greetings Everyone,

I received my ppr some days ago which I shared here. In it, I was informed that my passport must be valid for the duration of my expected length of stay in Canada. Unfortunately, my passport has just 8 months validity, which is not up to my expected length of stay.

I therefore need to do a new passport ASAP because I have less than 30 days to submit my passport. I believe we all know the difficulties and delay in doing a new passport or renewal now. Most of the immigration office in Nigeria have no booklet at the moment.

I met someone(immigration officer) who told me that they can do an e-passport for me at their own office and it will take just a week to be ready. I just want to ask, does Canada accept e-passport?

Thank you all and GOD bless

It happens. Some people have this kind of error. It is more likely the Canadian embassy know you have done your biometrics

Good evening everyone please my biometric has not been updated since I did it May 25 and has been showing we have not received your biometric for over two months. Please what can I do or is this normal.

You could still possibly reapply again and notify IRCC via webform about your new LOA.
stevedestiny:

I did and was told the only option I have is to reapply. Kind of confused now
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by Teezkid: 1:10pm On Aug 04, 2022
You can mail and ask the school about your visa been approved. Hopeful they will give you the best solution
stevedestiny:
Timeline
2nd time applicant , got refused last year Sept
Reapplied May 14, 2022
Medical passed July 14th
PPR dropped 3rd August , 2022

but my school told me my admission has been rescinded and I need to reapply ( Application for my program opens October).

I tried to defer but was told I can't defer twice since I already did last year.

Please o will this affect the approval?

Any suggestions?

If you have a 3-5 years working experience related to information technology or computer science you could apply for those courses ( mostly if you are working after you have graduated or done with school). If you don’t have, you would have to go with a course which is related to economics ( that will show academic progression). To save yourself the stress
Hopeful for other people in the house to answer you
Becoted001:
Pls house,

I am trying to apply for MSc in Data science or artificial intelligence in any Canada university, although I have BSc in Economics and Diploma in Economics and Statistics with good grades and i dont have working experience related to course to study.

I will like to know if both Visa and Admission application can be granted.
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 21 by Teezkid: 6:28pm On Jul 26, 2022
Hello there. What you would need for proof of relationship is:
His birth certificate and your mothers birth certificate ( to show they are siblings and born from the same parent).
If he has helped you paid anything from your past.
Other things to help with your application:
Him paying your school tuition.
Sponsorship letter or affidavit letter of support.
Him sending some money for your living expenses ( this has to be a gift deed letter to back it up). it can be optional ( all depends on you).
His letter of employment.
Hopeful for other people here to contribute Incase of any other thing. wink

MotolaniBolaji:
Good Morning Gurus in the house.

Please concerning the proof of funds, I spoke to my uncle (My Mums elder brother) in the US and he agreed to sponsor me, please I would like to know what information and documentations I would need from him for my visa application.

Please I would also like to know the best way to proof we are related because we don’t have the same surname

Ps: we don’t have any picture together because I was very small when he left.

Even in Saskatchewan also. You need to work for 6 months, and you are good to qualify for pnp ( only for those with PGWP)
ofime123:
In New Brunswick and nova scotia u only need 6month work axperience to qualify for pnp I wanted to apply for a school in manitoba but my transcript didn't arrive on time and the program is close till next year section then I made a research about new brunswick and nova scotia they have same program and even cheaper. I think the best for a student for Pr is through pnp that's my research so far

Hello there
8 months program is regarded as a 1 year academic program which can qualify you for a 1 year pgwp ( that is only if the institution regards it as 1 year). Other ways to get PR are using of Provincial Nominee Program ( PNP ), you can look them up on the internet and find the best which suites you.
Pankajgupta:

Good afternoon Nairalanders.

I just got admission into an 8 months program at Seneca college in canada . (Project management:Information technology)

I’ve read that my 8 months course can only get me 8 months Post graduate work permit .

And to secure PR, I read that I need to have worked for at least 1 year full time in canada ( which I can’t because I’m only getting 8 months PGWP)

Please is there any other way I can secure PR when I get there ?
(Ps. I don’t hav extra money for studies after this program )

Please I need answers so I can decide if I’ll accept the admission or not

You can go for any accounting PGD. The gurus here would know the ones for you to go for. You can even do any accounting program for masters wink
JDB55:
Thanks, i studied Education Accountancy and graduated last year. Though, i've been trading digital currency (Cryptocurrency) since when i was in my 200L till date.
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 21 by Teezkid: 9:37pm On Jul 21, 2022
You can apply for a PGD course, and what you defended in your project doesn’t really have to play much of an effect, all that matters is if you have been working 3-5 years ( career progression), what you also studied in school ( recent graduate; academic progression). cool a lot of people here apply for pgd courses and still get their visas.
JDB55:
Thanks for the prompt reply. But, with my 2:1 is it gonna look somehow if one decides to go for a PGD course in a college cos i'm not considering a masters yet cos of the tuition fee but i can afford that of a college. Also, some requires one to have a GMAT/GRE which i don't have any. And lastly what i defended in my project was based on Education.

Oo, relax. I meant your ircc page can be updated without an email, I don’t know about about PPR, my bad tongue
CharitoJames:

There is nothing honest about that. You can’t get PPR without email. Don’t advise wrongly
