crown777: Jonathan met with the Queen of England.

He asked her, "How do you run such an efficient government? Are there any tips u can give to me? I want to help Nigeria."

"Well," said the Queen, "the most important thing is to surround yourself with intelligent people."

Jonathan frowned, and then asked,"But how do i know the people around me are really intelligent?"

The Queen replied, "Oh, that's easy, you just ask them to answer an intelligent riddle." The Queen pushed a button on her intercom. "Please send David Cameron in here, would you?"

David Cameron walked into the room and said,"Yes, your majesty?"

The Queen smiled and said, "Answer this riddle. David, your mother and father have a child, it is not your brother and it is not your sister. Who is it?" Without pausing for a minute David Cameron answered, "that would be me."

"Yes, very good," said the Queen.

Jonathan went back home to ask his Vice President Sambo.

JONATHAN: Answer this. Your mother and your father have a child, it's not your brother and it's not your sister, who is it?

SAMBO: "I'm not sure, let me get back to you."

He asked all his staff in the Office but none could give him an answer. Finally, one day, VP Sambo ran into Dora Akunyili. Sambo asked, Dora,

SAMBO: Your mother and father have a child and it's not your brother or sister, who is it?"

Dora answered sharply, "That's easy, its me!" Sambo smiled, and said "Thanks!"

Then he went back to speak with President Jonathan.

Sambo: Sir, I have the answer to that riddle, It's Dora Akunyili!

Jonathan got angry,he said to Sambo. "No wonder Nigeria isn't moving forward, I am surrounded by Dummies! The answer is David Cameron!"

I rest my case..

Nah. Not pained. Actually , that he typed up so much rubbish (an invective laden essay) to prove a point doesn't make him smarter than the guy he was trying to correct.
And thinking about the amount of time/energy expended, he's actually a phoool. I know you agree. Lol

Kairoseki77: ,

Are you slow?

I am not being mean, I am genuinely curious.

Have you even left your village, or the small confines of your state? Have you ever stepped foot outside of Nigeria? Ever in your life?

I have honestly not heard anyone string sentences together and make so little sense.

In every country on the planet you must register as a resident of the state you reside in. There is nothing "indigenous" about it. This is not your tribal census.

You utilize the resources of the state in which you reside. (So you must pay taxes) Are you planning on not paying taxes to give back to the state that provides for you? If so, please leave immediately. You are a deadbeat and will not be welcome anywhere on Earth, not even in your brother's house.

In the US, your only form of identification is your STATE ID. You car, has a STATE license plate. You pay local, STATE, and federal taxes. You vote in your STATE elections, and even get a voter card issued by your STATE dept of elections. The reasons for this are endless.

We are not savages living in an endless jungle, like they must do in your village. To have a functioning society people must have addresses, ID cards, and pay taxes. None if that exists in Nigeria, but it exists in Lagos State. If you can't handle being a big boy, pack your bags and go hug a lion.

Eko oni baje o. Daft tribalists will never slow down progress.

Seriously - The fact that you have not thought at ALL about what a State ID is, and what it's purpose is, has confirmed the level of ignorance in this country.

That means that men and women shouldn't mix either. I just proved beyond doubt that heterosexuality is wrong and against nature.

Why didn't the Field Commanders adopt a Defensive Stance and Conduct an Orderly Retreat to save the men??

For Christsake, is this the Same Nigerian Army whose Platoons Held their own under Ambush in Deep Liberian Jungles??

Its either some of the Soldiers turned their Weapons on their Comrades on the Battlefied, or the figures are greatly exaggerated or they went into the fray without bullets or they panicked and fled in disarray or sumtin...I don't know!

Did I just read somewhere that the same govt had collected millions of naira as rent in advance ?

Why does govt keep trying to make sweeping changes without first providing a viable fall back alternative

Politics / Re: Onitsha Shut-down Over Drugs Ban Protests by telexfree1: 3:51pm On Sep 12, 2013
I don't see the need for the protests .
Government wants to ban sale of drugs in the open market. That's fine .
The value chain line from manufacturer - wholesaler - retailer - consumer should be strictly monitored.
For both imported drugs and locally made ones, there should be an approved list of manufacturers . ( there probably is already )
The manufacturers should have a list of their approved distributors ( wholesalers) in each state.
The wholesalers in turn should have a list of retailers within and outside the state whom they sell to.
And finally the retailers should be able to dispense O.T.C drugs to anybody while prescription drugs on doctors orders only
Hospitals, chemists and pharmacies qualify as retailers and should be able to buy directly from wholesalers they are registered with

Any business man can be a wholesaler/distributor , but only experts should be allowed as retailers

Its easy to enforce for local manufacturers. For the imported drugs however, the customs service should ensure that drug cargo coming in from blacklisted countries should be promptly confiscated. E.g if a ship sails in from Somalia carrying drug cargo and the FG/ministry of health does not have any approved manufacturer in that country, then such a cargo should be seized promptly and the importer arrested for knowingly doing business with a non-compliant country.
Even in such a country where FG has about one or two approved manufacturers for export to Nigeria, the customs will still need to engage the services of pre-shipment inspectors. Because some unscrupulous business men could buy cheap fake drugs and change the packet to resemble that of an approved manufacturer's in that same country.

Locally, there should be periodic checks by mystery shoppers who inspect the retailers' and wholesalers' stock periodically

I believe some of these structures are already in place. The problem is when the govt decides to make sweeping changes without offering any viable alternatives. ( Just like the fuel subsidy removal of last year. Subsidy removal in itself is a good thing but the refineries were not working so the purpose was defeated as we would have had to continue importing fuel )
