logadims: The garden city of Port Harcourt, Rivers State was dotted in blue and canines on the 17th February, 2018. As early as 6:30AM, the enthusiastic dog lovers and breeders of Port Harcourt City had filed out to grace the much publicized Port Harcourt Dog Walk, 2018 hosted by the Kennel Club of Rivers. Just like the previous year’s walk, that of this year took a surprising trust in terms of both numbers and organization.
The event was in two phases. The first being the dog walk procession and the second, after dog walk event. The procession kicked off a little bit after the schedule 7:00AM mark. The kick off point was Hotel Presidential Estate Junction. The procession witnessed a monumental number of attendees. Leading the walk were the toy breeds which includes the Lhasa apsos and Samoyed alongside their handlers, the German Shepherds, Caucasians, Rottweiler s, Boerboels and a few others breeds like the Great Danes, Russian Terriers and An American Pit Bull Terrier.
Shutters Studios, an event covering agency was the sole agency given the right of cover the event. The walk was also covered aerially using a Drone (courtesy of Fixgadget) there was a live streaming and blogging of the event by Portharcourt-in-pictures. Music was also used to add style to the walk as the dog-walkers all on blue T-shirts created with KCR logo swayed and danced to the rhythm of the songs and demonstration of the MC. Onlookers were equally glued to their standing and sitting spots with mouth opened and thoughts of awe going through their heads. Aba Dog Breeders Association were also present to add a tint of red to the walk. The procession finally came to a halt at about 10:30AM at the Peace Park Garden, opposite Air Force Base Junction, Port Harcourt.
The second phase of the event kicked off after modalities were put in place. Pictures of various breeds were taken in an organized fashion. From the lhasas, to the German Shepherds, Rottweilers, Boerboels, to the Caucasians and Great Danes to the Exotic Russian Terriers and American Pit bull Terriers.

Nukilia: Can we just stop promoting murderous and cancerous religious ideologies imposed on us as Africans. What's my business with Mohammedans or Zionists.... Let's stand up to condemn evil in all fronts. If Assad had done the same thing, the whole of France, Germany, Britain, Saudi Arabia et al would be on their way with nuclear submarines and missiles. But you are clearly going to sway in favor of Mohammedans in any such situation. "If Assad", you say. What of "if Netanyahu", "if Theresa May"? That is the problem of the world. And it begins with you. The reason majority of the world hates Mohammedans is because they are aggressors who cry more than the bereaved when things don't go their way. I'll never forget a classmate in junior high celebrating the 9/11 incident. He happily said, with the biggest smile on his face, "we did that". At such a young age. That sums up every single scum of Earth who prays five times a day and goes to Mecca for pilgrimage. With the offensive the world gave them(Mohammedans) in retaliation they were opening their ugly faces crying all over the place after using their children as shields. Why should anybody pity them? Why shouldn't they be crushed at any opportunity? And yet, yet, the world wants to treat them equally, give them a human face- and you're angry about Palestine. You've not mentioned the Palestinian killers and bombers directed against the Israelis. The casualties on the Israeli side due to Palestinian aggressions. You're here advocating for them. Practice what you preach. |

Nukilia: I wish Palestinians could also have missiles and strong weapons to fight the Israeli regime. 1000 stones and catapult is not equal to the firepower of a cluster bomb or missile. The rogues state of Israel is being controlled by the Zionist regime who are greedy folks and they use the master weapon of religion as a bait to appear as innocent folks. Isn't that stupidity? What is their point provoking? They want to die so that they will be all over CNN, crying with their big mouths wide open like the gates of hell after using their children as shields. Your problem with it is that it's Mohammedans being killed. You wouldn't care if it were Christians. |

Kanwulia has really made this place much better, despite people's opinion of how he/she went about it.
Some are upset that people are posting better pictures of food. Why? Not everybody eats local dishes and hates to put their food nicely in plates. Why must the rest be subjected to that?

Tats: I don't think the "useless" people meant customers. It would be a colleague/Superior (bank staff) that would be calling you during the weekend. They should hire people on standby at weekends for such and pay them whether or not they are called to top up ATM Why should they be paid for not topping up the ATM? I understand it's a kind of office rotation job to man the ATMs. I get the useless people bit. But as a banker that should be expected. Nigerians have it easy compared to other countries who work Saturdays at the bank, so I don't really see what the problem with that is. |

I thank GOD for my little computer school As a banker don't you think that you eat from the "useless" people trying to withdraw on weekends as they incur extra charges? Were you not paid to work? |

givan: Explores, this isn't funny. These are human beings, irrespective of their looks. They are God's creature. Focus your joke on something else. The rate at which Nigerians entertain themselves with memes of disabled people is disgusting. Although you will blame the foreign press for releasing these images, most here are demented hillbillies, but thankfully none appear disabled. These ones have lost their anonymity due to crime, but the images of an ill Indian boy who was born with his neck upside down was once used as a popular meme here on nairaland. People actually found it funny which is such a shame. |

Morwendy: I sincerely apologise to those of you who believe that I am not telling it as it is but I have actuallytold it exactly as it is. I do not think any less of Nigerians than I do of tbe English and just wanted to know about the name change. FYI, I'm 52, he's 49. No children though he has always treated my younger ones as his own. He's an Igbo from Owerri. His surname is an English surname. Yes the English do take their fathers name which is what confuses me - his grandfather had an English surname yet his fathers didn't
However, as my question has caused so much offence, I will leave it there. Good evening and thankyou.
Oh and no, I'm not a whale. I'm also not wealthy. Do not expect honest replies from Nigerians. They simply support the patriarchy. Anything a man does must be right. A woman is always suspicious. Even one with legitimate reasons to be. Being on this website has helped many of us understand that. Why should people answer different names to their parents and grandparents? How can people change names so easily? Is it legal? |

But during the time they are there they aren't doing anything wrong, so why not let them? On Monday they will go to work. Why make it sound like Christians are only always in church when their meetings only occur out of productivity hours? Bigotry without facts. |

EgunMogaji: I wasn't there so I can only go by my own experience.
I simply cannot believe that the event occurred as stated. She's a Woman and one that is travelling with children. Most Air Hostesses are Women. I just do not see a female air hostess siding with a male against a mother with children unless the situation was dire.
I also believe that it will take the Captains involvement to get her bounced and not just an air hostess.
The Airline will settle out of court. I wish I had known that you could get a person off a flight for smelling bad. I demand compensation. I once boarded a flight of some hours from Nairobi and there was this Nigerian woman in a sleeveless shirt. The moment she raised her arms to put her luggage in the luggage compartment, the hairs in my nostrils were blown off. She sat on another aisle but -- you will not believe it -- her pungently awfully smelly stinky armpits reached across the aisle and slapped all of us in the face repeatedly! The Russian guy next to me shut his book and once we took off he ran to the only vacant seat some rows ahead. From Nairobi to the final destination this woman was smelling recklessly from her seat. Goodness! That smell! Oh! I can't believe somebody who can afford a ticket cannot afford deodorant. Those smelly armpits, on arrival at the next airport, were on the warpath. She smelled so badly at the arrivals that this time both my old seat mate and I moved to the other set of seats just to get away from her. It was traumatic. That smell! I can't describe it, but it was powerful and it was terrible. Goodness! What kind of body was that? I can imagine what this man went through. If I could get away from her during the flight I'm sure I would've been called racist. |

ArcFresky: .
I think you missed the point here. The point is the energy, time and finances spent on practising religion would have been better spent on development.
You see people going to church, monday morning. People building churches instead of factories People changing to pastors when there is no job. People disturbing the whole neighborhood in the name of religion. People spending hours in church on sunday, and collecting brives on monday.... What waste.. If people don't spend time in church, since Christianity is the only religion, then they will spend time drinking, robbing, stealing, smoking and enjoying every vice out there which in the end us detrimental to society. So what exactly is wrong with people going to church on Sundays and going about the rest of their lives contributing to the society the other days of the week? Or you would prefer they get high on Monday morning and kill a few people on the side? |

Oro people should start their own organization and demand the right to flout sane rules, they should demand to go to the bar in their regalia, too. Oro people have rights, too, no matter how outlandish. |

It's not exactly shocking.
Looking at the frequency of the crime and the population of young jobless males who are likely to engage in it, you will realize that it should, in fact, be the top search for Nigeria. It's the national export/balance of trade.
It also highlights the dumbness of the people who made the search. Assuming they were to find such content online, they would find it difficult to perpetrate the crime when law enforcement equally follow the trail.
Desperation yields stupidity mostly.
The next common search after that shows how lousy black people are. Is marriage so important to black people? Religion isn't Africa's problem. It's other dumb things. |
