KanwuliaExtra:Some of the combatants are waiting for those pics eagerly. Lol. Food fight coming up. |
KanwuliaExtra:Lol. Some of them look quite gross- to be frank- like they were just thrown in a cauldron or on a mortuary slab; gastronomic mishaps. Sometimes the combinations are just off. However the thread is to serve in the spirit of cooking and give people a chance to show off their hobby. Let's assume it tastes good. Given your good example they may begin to emulate good food presentation. @italicized: call them |
Newboss:Then let him upload pictures of this insane wealth you're describing, rather than looking for random people who he thinks don't pay tithes to use as his poster boys. Are you trying to say that people who pay tithes aren't wealthy, because some man is telling you so without biblical proof? |
Statsocial:Your point two is what anti-tithers do not understand. If people don't pay tithes there will be no light in their church, probably no church building and the people who churches help will be left destitute. But then maybe we don't know if they wish to go to church in the wild sitting rocks and sand basking under the trees and sky. People who don't give to the church and yet expect to sit there in comfort on service days are very thoughtless and sentimental about what they cannot control. They say to give as they please, but they would be the first to complain that church utilities are pathetic when nobody is giving since it isn't a law for Christians. How people can be so easily swayed about something sensible like funding a church is a sure sign that it's the spirit of the last days warming them up. |
chimebukar:Nobody said the truth would taste sweet. |
chimebukar:Everybody has their addictions, be it fatty food or drugs. And control over such things lies with the individuals. |
chimebukar:It's a decision he made. |
Divay22:Dude is worried? He has been worried for 6 years? The mentality of people who do drugs isn't to escape from worry. It is to enjoy the highlife. This is a guy who should rightly be occupied with his studies. What is worrying him? And instead of thinking he's doing drugs? He simply wants to enjoy his life while he's young and until he's tired of it, he won't stop. You need to see how they enjoy choking other people with their smoke and making noise once they've drunk to their fill. Such people aren't worried. He's not worried. He's enjoying. All people who do drugs say so. |
jumzzy448:Lox. |
What is that first animal? Looks gross. |
Nnelily:Are you sure this isn't an alter ego? This particular moniker is more acidic than the new Mrs one. A guy like the aforementioned knows he will be banned, so this one is probably the backup account. |
Did she use duct tape or staple pins/pins to hold it shut? |
GloriaNinja:We wonder. First of all he's posing inside with the money. Then they take him outside, with the money again. Then the money is put on the table. Then we see the money with some staged food . |
prettyboy5:So you've never been outside Nigeria. You're just a hillbilly who thinks the world sits on cow spoor. |
prettyboy5:If you have traveled and lived in several countries and continents that have formed your opinion, continue your rant against Africans. If not, then don't bother with all this "Africa is a religious backwards continent". Live and learn. PS: you need to know that not everybody here is a Nigerian, because you're generalizing by asking about "your country". You needed clarification. |
prettyboy5:"Africa is indeed a backward continent, religion... Religion... Religion" I hope you've traveled the world before jumping to your hasty conclusion. And don't assume everybody is Nigerian because they're on nairaland. |
prettyboy5:Don't bring up the "Africans are so backward" talk. Do you know what happened in America when they requested to see the books of all the churches in the same manner you wish "Africans" could? Do some research and stop feeling that you as an African are in a backward country because you think the rest of the world runs on golden wheels. |
Built2last:Don't mind Nigerian people. You will never find a more shallow set of people like this elsewhere. I've seen hundreds who claim to follow that religion who don't wear such ridiculous things. If your country is an Islamic nation then wear it, if not don't impose it on others by making them see you in it. I'm sure they know how uncomfortable they make everybody on the tube once they get on. They know, but they think it's a winning point to make people uncomfortable with their bomb hiding gear. Their aim is to change the Constitution of the world to suit them, then once it's changed they use it to oppress the populace. Look at Europe today. |
olasaad:What weapon is she hiding behind her ears and along her nape? I've seen people steal food under these things, so, tell us what she's hiding there. |
Gilbertase:You're a child-man of insubstantial intelligence, yourself. "I the fellow behind the moniker Gilbertase do affirm that i am a Noisemaker. Assumer extraordinaire. Braggart. Dispenser of unnecessary points of no interest. I also have zero tolerance for others and i resort to calling sane pple names because i am a lliliputian intellectually and therefore cannot handle civil dialogue. I am self righteous, a Pharisee . Look how I give money. I'm not sensible at age. I am angry and can't face the words used against me. But I love to pick a fight. I'm waiting for my owner to call me off. Until he shoots me in the head or SARS does, BEAR WITH ME! Woof!" I love to see a "cheerful giver" chest beater display himself. ![]() If only you could be mannered like rejosom. But alas! Civility is far from you. |
Gilbertase:Typical Nigerian. Noisemaker. Assumer extraordinaire. Braggart. Dispenser of unnecessary points of no interest. Emotional. Yet will claim facts. |
rejosom:I did not say that I tithe. You can't just assume that. Everybody is practicing Judaism, because Jesus was a Jew. Christianity is based on Judaism. If you erase the Judaism from the Bible, then you have the new testament only. If it's good and it's in the Bible then you are free to practice it. Tithing is permitted because Jesus never dismissed it blatantly like stoning. I am not resisting change, but I don't find reasons for arguing for or against people's beliefs, that's why I stopped. Do what you wish to. |
Gilbertase:You're bragging. You need to toot your horns about how good you are. How you don't tithe but you're still so good. We're not interested in that. It's unnecessary information. A butter of sorts. That's why you didn't read that post you jumped at emotionally. |
Gilbertase:You're bragging, still. You don't need to announce that you're a good Christian because you give money without distinction of what you're giving for. Give and leave it between you and God. Not all this online chest beating. You want to sound more moral than those who give tithes. Stop tooting your horns. I mentioned sacrifices being burned. You go and read. |
rejosom:I don't believe in arguing where belief is concerned. Do as you please. Eat your tithes or give it to people. Anything that makes you sleep at night, do it. Or maybe tithes don't even exist since they are of the law. And for the guy talking about burning tithes, I mentioned sacrifices. If you don't want to pay your tithes, don't sound like those who do are stupid. They believe it and it works for them. They got it from the Bible and it works. If it were a law it should have been rendered useless the way you believe it to be, and ineffective. They give in faith on a principle and it works for them. All this bragging about how you give, like the rest of us don't, is just your morality speaking. "I don't pay tithes but I give". Well, we all do. |
rejosom:Are you a Christian because you're scared of hell, or because you have come to believe that it's the only way to live for you? You give tithes and offerings in faith to God, not because you're scared of punishments (as some people claim). @no. 7, yes. Your tithes aren't only your food. The same Bible(Exodus) you read tells you that if your food is too much to take to the place where you will offer your sacrifices, sell them and bring the money before God. Not before man. But before God. The giving of food was because, at the time, edible sacrifices were required. It had to be food because it would be burnt before God. That is still a Jewish thing up till date. The belief that tithes are only food is erroneous and appears to be new because for the first time someone has pointed out that scripture in public. Sometimes we need to read the Bible with understanding, not to see what we want to see. When Jesus came to Earth, he stopped the Jews from stoning to death the Samaritan woman. There was no need for the law anymore because of his Mercy. When the poor woman dropped her offerings in the synagogue (place where God is worshipped), Jesus was there, too, watching her. She dropped money. Not food, but money. He did not condemn her, but praised her. This means that money can be dropped in church and Jesus is still watching. Why are we fighting to carry only food as tithes and offerings then? Is the Exodus law more superior to the new Grace of God? Did Jesus tell her to take back her money, that he only needed food? So we need to think about it when someone is telling us to go back of giving food like Cain and Abel, when Jesus has allowed us to give money like that woman did. Is the man saying these things wiser than Jesus who let The woman drop money in the synagogue? Is he the new author of the Bible? Tithing is not only for the poor. Goodwill, as expressed in Acts and Romans, cover for provisions for the poor, too. If everything is going to the poor, what goes towards the church of God on earth? It's not all about money, profits, fraud and deception. We all need to read our Bibles in full. @no 6, explain, please. @no 8, being anti-tithes is left up to each person. It won't change the Bible. Give food as tithes if you're a farmer or prefer it that way. |
rejosom:If the bolded is your problem with paying tithes, why on Earth would you give your money to anybody else as well knowing that they, too, can misappropriate your funds? The problem many people have is that they think their tithes enter the pastor's pocket. This is possible in every scenario of giving but that's not what you know is going on for a fact. You're assuming pastors don't work or receive gifts from people. You assume they sit in the church all day and do nothing else but that. When you attend a programme in church, sit under the air conditioner, burning energy as you come to read your Bible in a conducive environment, applaud the artistes brought in, do you think it's the pastor's personal money or your tithes that do it? Who will pay those bills? The church? Is there church a money doubling bank? Where does the money come from? When hungry people are fed by your church in outreach programmes and the less fortunate in the building are catered for, do you imagine it to be the pastor's personal money or your tithes and offerings? You need them to announce this to you, how the most minute one buck was spent? They do these things without announcing it to you. When visits are made to orphanages by your church, prisoners are fed, is it the pastor's own money or tithes and offerings? Do you know the joy those visits give the prisoners? Have you seen them dancing and happy when the churches visit them? Do you need them to tell you they do this? You see, your reluctance to pay tithes destroys your obedience to the last instruction gave to you to preach the gospel to every creature. You can't reach them all by yourself. That's why there is the church. When you give money to people, do you stop to preach to them? No. But the church does that. Do you personally go to feed prisoners to your own righteousness or to spread the word of God? But the church does it for you, so why don't you think you should pay your tithes in church? Why go to church when you don't care about how it will be run? Why enjoy it's facilities if you think they shouldn't be maintained with your tithes? Do you want the pastor to pay for you from his pocket to preach to you everyday when you can help him spread the word of God? Is he capable of that? If you're giving it to people on the street who don't know or care about God, I hope that they, and you, continue to spread the word of God. You don't know if they will use it to buy alcohol when you've gone, or if they will use it in any licentious manner. You giving tithes to people in the street who you think are poor is killing the gospel on that person and not spreading it as Jesus said you should. Give them but don't neglect giving to the work of God except you wish to carry it on by yourself. Or do you want a breakdown of every 500 bucks spent by the church? Have you met organizations you give your money to, or individuals, demanding to know what the money you gave them was used for? This anti-tithing movement is pointless. The work of people who don't really read or understand their Bible. Read all of the Bible or discard all of it. Don't take half. Half of Jesus won't get you to heaven. One man quotes one verse you agree with and you discard the rest of the things that come after. If tithing is Jewish, then forget about the ten commandments because that is the Torah. Live by your own Bible. I'm not vexing. It's just strange why people don't want to pay tithes again, but expect the most of the church. Morality isn't Christianity. |
rejosom:Who said you're giving your tithes and offerings to a man of God? This is like saying contributing to a motherless babies home is enriching those in charge of it. You're not considering that it actually goes into use. And how can you judge if a person is poor or not? Poverty is relative. That a person looks poor" to you doesn't mean that they are. So how do you know who you're giving to? Same difference as giving it in a church. If you want to do some goodwill, do so. Don't call it tithing. |
Lagusta:But doctors do the multivitamin + antimalarial prescription a lot, knowing fully well that taking both negates the relief of the treatment plan; unless when confronted about the prescription by their patient. It's pharmacists who bother to explain that you should take the one after the others doses are completed, in order to avoid antagonism. |
