hyuga: I didnt see any red markd files wen døin mine. I follôwd d steps bt got stuck wen i didnt see any file to add or remove. I even clickd flash nt refurbish. Was surprísd tö see my føne alive sha. I didnt use d new phoeniy either its d older version i used..

For the benefit of those who are are about to flash or might wanna flash in the future, let me point out some stuff here
* there must be at least one file im RED COLOUR, ''the emmc.fpsx'' which stores the content that will be added to a memory card, but this file is not included on the latest smartphone firmwares so it appears in Red, u will end up with an error "FIRMWARE UPDATING FAILED" and flashing isnt possible If u dont delete it.
* There aint no word "FLASH" at the command options, u should get UPDATE SOFTWARE, REFURBISH & SW RESET.
*old phoenix version doesnt flash any latest smarthphone, the drivers won't detect the phone. Do take note guys.

Yes bro u should get 5 mandatory files in phoenix interface after u have successfully transfered the 8 firmware files that u downloaded into Phoenix's RM-596 Location from the begining.

Yes, the phone should be off, provided u chose NO CONNECTION and and also marked DEAD PHONE FLASHING (which is the easiest way to flash)

it shows no usb connection cos u didnt connect your phone, which is personally the way i like flashing my devices (In DEAD usb mode)
just make sure nokia suite is not running before launching phoenix and that the files u placed the 8 firmware files under ''RM-596'' (please count them and make sure they are
format the phone with *#7370# (or delete all files & Folders in Mass memory with the pc)
Switch the phone off and launch Phoenix
Click File-OPEN PRODUCT
type and search for RM-596 select and press ok. U should get the the word READY at the buttom of phoenix
Now click on Firmware update (Dont forget to leave Connection options set to NO CONNECTION)
Open and select the product code displayed and press ok, Check/Mark DEAD PHONE USB FLASHING and the selct OPTIONS at the bottom
Delete the ones in Red colour. Now take Note of this, u should have just only one file displayed in red, if it happens to be more than that, then u should know u made a mistake of not copying the right files into RM-596 folder from the begining, Go back and copy the files or else you will brick the phone)
Click ok and then click on REFURBISH
You should see an instruction to press the power buttom for 8 sec until you feel 3 vibrations. do that, connect your phone to the pc and press ok
Flashings have started
Chill for about 2-5min and then u should get a successful upgrade message.. thats it. u are done
However, if u get an error on phoenix at the end of update and your phone screen stucks at TEST MODE. no need to panic, just remove the USB. press the power button for 8sec until it goes off the switch it on, thats all. u are done
Please check the update tutorial for screenshots and ask questions if u have issues with the post above. You can reflash a million times, just dont make ur phone cry and say ; OGA, E Don Do now ...Enjoy Your belle update.

Bro i got that music player from a firmware maker [Aminking] and included it on mine during Modding . nope it ain't available for download via Update yet cos it was leaked from the unreleased N8's FW update. I think there is a way u can install it and replace your native music player but i think people are reporting bugs concerning that option, not sure if it will work on E7 though but try google-ing it out. (Belle FP1 music player)

If your major reason for flashing is to customize the .mif files then I suggest you joshlog app ( or tweak for fp1 users) as it makes the .mif files load from e/resource/apps. So all you've got to do is just replace and restart. Except for the avkon and splashscreen where you would have to disable it before replacing.

Also i think there is a repository tweak that can be activated trough Rom patcher that makes it load without restarting or restarts it automatically. Tried it for sometime but its quite unstable

No Bro, I do flash because i cook/make my own firmware so it bears my own name (see screenshot below) with my own written codes & changelogs exactly the way i wanted it. when i make any changes to stuffs like Hardware drivers, Bootdatas, Core softwares, tweaks or be9 program directories, it is a must i flash to test. I really dont flash cos of widgets skins & other mif files as i have all my widgets in a transparent form already. Yes i know about Dailymobile's joshlog tweak for making Resource/apps folder work from E:/ as well, i think i pasted that on a thread here .. Very useful tweak bro

Oh No bro, from the screenshot u provided above, your belle native music player isn't the new one. The new player doesn't support the very big album art anymore and "GO TO MUSIC LIBRARY" is no more present. i guess the one i used was either leaked from 808 pureview or from N8's upcoming FP1, not sure. it s version 17.1.13.

It is the new Belle music player bro. No tweaks or setting involved. Just play the specific music preloaded with lyrics, select option- display lyrics if it doesn't show at first.

COS I WANT TO BE USEING MY MAP IN OFFLINE MODE

You can download maps in 2 ways,
1. using the map loader application on your phone (if you have the latest map Nokia map suite installed) or the map option of Nokia suite on your pc
2. By just scrolling to new areas on your nokia Maps from your phone
I really don't like Using the first method simply because the content u get is not a complete map trace, also the 2nd method is easier provided u have your internet connection working. Now this is it;
First, u need to stop ur GPS from using network to obtain your location. Go to settings-Application settings-Positioning-Positioning Methods. Uncheck/unmark leaving only INTEGRATED GPS marked. Now with that, your phone will use only the built in GPS chip in your phone for Navigation and not your network, though u will have to be outdoor for about 1 to 3 mins before it detects your current position on the map.

Now to get your Maps for the first time, u will need to be online for the first time so u can get your area map. almost everywhere in naija is covered by Nokia map so no worries, ensure u have some data plans on your phone cos street map for a specific city takes around 5-10 MB. Lets say u are downloading a map for Lagos city, Launch the Map app, select optioons-Settings-General. Set CONNECTION to ONLINE. now go back to the Map homepage and make sure u are outdoors with the device facing the sky (not raise it up above your head level o. lol) watch the flashing Red indicator, it stops flashing and becomes stable after it locates your current location. it takes Nokia Maps about 2-5mins to get your location for the first time, next time wont be that long especially when u are outdoors. after the red indicator becomes stable, Just tap it and the maps automatically zooms to your current position and begins downloading the area's map. just wait until your location are downloaded with street names, then when u are satisfied. go back to General in settings and set connection to offline, now u are good to go. U can Always go back online if u wanna download any other city maps, just click on search, enter a city name and select. then it downloads and adds that location to your map contents. Almost all areas in naija are covered with Nokia maps which is one of the reasons why i luv Nokia

...As a plus, u can add voice navigation to your map be Tapping options- Settings- Maps and walk/Drive voice guidance. download your favorites, personally for me when am driving and set my destination, i luv it when i hear my phone's guidance saying stuffs like "AT THE END OF THE ROAD, TURN RIGHT, MAKE A U-TURN, U V REACHED YOUR DESTINATION" etc .. The walk guidance also pronounces the street names too, quite funny.

.. Also dont forget to select General -Categories - and Mark your favorite stuffs to display on your map home screen ( nearby Hotel, Police stations, Churches Restaurant etc). It aint as complicated as it seems, just took time in writing it all out so u wont get confused

CAUTION. please be careful when using maps on the streets o. most of my friends usually hit their heads on the gate, fall inside gutters and even got hit by a parked car when using maps o . lol. ENJOY Bro
