Mcslize:The report about the poverty capital is lop sided.A clear disparity between the south and the north of the country. Did you know that 72 % of black adults in the UK are overweight or living in Obesity? Is that an indication of a healthy people? Also,4 out of 5 black females in the USA were overweight or obese. These are similar figures among Nigerians abroad.lt is scary. |
The law of the sea makes Nigeria get more nautical miles for off shore drilling. The size of the North of the country made that happen. No country by the Gulf of guinea has that geographical advantage than Nigeria.lt is that clear. |
When you are above 40,stay in your country and don't try to relocate anywhere except for war or extreme poverty. The lady makes much sense. You are most likely not to live a healthy life or live longer if you begin to work menial jobs or other physically demanding jobs at that age.Contrary to what most of us think,Nigerians abroad are generally not a healthy looking people and their life expectancy is relatively low.If you have children, better send them abroad if you are more than 40 years. |
Well done in leaving the country and finding hope and financial freedom in your new country. However, some jobs like working in the warehouse can be physically demanding after doing it for a couple of years, especially for people above forty.l can suggest you engage in consistent physical exercise to relieve yourself of the back pain, knee, waist pain etc that you might incur as a result. Also, bear in mind that you must have to work a little harder to save much income as you have barely 20 years to pension. Also ,if Australian pension laws will guarantee you a full pension since you came relatively old into the labour force. 20 years is close than you might think.Personally,l won't leave the country at that age except l was really broke. All in all, you still can live and afford the basic things in life which most of us in Nigeria can only dream of.Goodluck.. |
He probably died of some underlying ailment. Nothing spiritual.May his soul rest in peace. |
Why close the place?Fines, warnings or other punitive measures should be enough. You close an an entire fast food restaurant and make all the workers to be jobless. What good is that? |
What has a fitness walk got to do party politics?lt's beneficial to our health and general well-being to walk rather than sit idly.We live a sedentary lifestyle in this country that is part of the reasons why we have a life expectancy at 52 years. |
This is rare.We often read of vindictive wives in the diaspora that are hellbent on reducing their men to henpecks and showing them what truly femism is all about.Kudos to the lady. |
I noticed people still take commercial busses, tricycles or bikes to places or junctions that can be reached by trekking.ls it that most of us can't walk for about a kilometer or two or are we unaware of the health benefits of walking everyday? Furthermore ,the monthly costs of those transport fares are also very enormous. |
Mining is not merely digging.lt requires learning and other safety measures.May their gentle souls rest in peace. |
The common man wants to see the prices of goods and services to go down, sir. Some of us have never touched dollar in our life and are find in trading in our legal tender, the naira. We need a drop on prices of basic commodities,so we can feed our families.Life is becoming unbearable. |

That is the size of an average Nigerian Woman, sadly. Most Nigerians would tell you that she has a normal body but merely looking at her,it's clear that she is overweight or even obese.I wonder if she has trekked a kilometer in her life as many of us prefer taking bikes than walk for few kilometers.l honestly think churches should keep some days of worship specifically for aerobic exercises in the church premises. |
YungTemy:No,l disagree.Humans do live pass a hundred. With proper diet and consistent exercise, one can live a long and healthy life.I think Mr lbu's dead should be a wake-up-call for those of us alive ,to know to take care of our health and overall well-being. |
Still a sizeable meal for an adult.Eat more Vegetables and fruits. They are pretty affordable.Eat less and train more to improve your metabolic health.Walk more and stop taking bikes,in cases where the distance is less than 2 kilometers. Our bodies are meant for moving . |
Eat twice per day, Don'take bike but walk instead.A normal person can walk more than 2 kilometers per day.lt is also recommended to walk 10.000 steps daily. So walk, walk to save costs and also improve on your overall health. |
With all the land mass in Oyo state, people are still going hungry.A woman collapsed in Oyo,a few days ago after haven't eaten for four days. What are the people doing with the huge land at their disposal? We must learn to farm and grow our own food. |
The all manners of fleecing mechanism introduced by pastors.Pastors citing chapters and verses from the bible to extort their followers and putting fear in the minds of the people to pay tithes, offering, seeds etc lest they would burn in hell,is another distaste altogether.Furthermore, the feeling of being in the midst of a crowd that also believe the hoax and remain willing tools for the scam, despite countless evidences is hard to imagine. |
U1:Again,you keep referring to unverifiable claims, hearsays, half-truths etc.Have your monies in the bank and pay taxes for it, nothing wrong with that. And l am not saying there aren't some few bad eggs in the system but that ain't any excuse or reason to not make amends on banking laws or directives.l won't want to delve on lists of global economies but l can tell you that, most economies do tax anymore that has a minimum of 10.000 dollars on your account Even those hiding their monies through stock, index fund etc are oblige to pay huge taxes. |
Mankind2024:I am talking of increased hoarding and speculation which is one of the motives for people to keep such a huge sum of money. Most functional economies in the world would never allow that much money to lie there without being taxed or changed to their currencies. I am not saying the government should confiscate people's money and it's always your choice to look for other alternatives to save your money. Other things you mentioned like kidnapping, Unknown gunmen, mining etc are hearsay or rumours that can not be substantiated and even at it, shouldn't be use as an excuse to not proffer solutions to improve the economy of the country. |
More than 30 billion dollar lie fallow in different banks, in the name of domiciliary accounts and we are facing dollar scarcity in the country.Keeping such gigantic amount unutilised is more like hoarding and speculation. Moreover, that sum is close to 34 billion dollar which is Nigeria's budget of 2024.What the government can do is initiate new laws to begin taxing on those money or give time for owners to start converting the dollar into Naira. There are really no long term benefits for keeping such sum if there are put into the running of the economy. |
Nothing wrong in eating this sort of rice,as long as it is not harmful.During famine or hunger, one is obliged to resort to alternative means.lt's trying time for most of us. |
You could have saved your money by not buying sugar. I only dip in a sachet of Lipton in a cup of hot water,no milk,no sugar.Black coffee without milk is also good. One can get his/her tongue accustomed to different tastes.Stop adding sugar to your tea.lt's poisonous and not healthy at all.Another health hazard is eating bread and drinking cola-cola with it. |
The world mourns Kevin Kiptum who died of a car crash this morning.Kevin ran Chicago marathon 2023,at 2 hours 35 seconds making him the greatest marathoner of all time.May his soul rest in peace. |
Congrats to lvorians. You made your people proud.Hope no loss of lives is reported tomorrow on the Nigerian fans. An the end,it's just football,a piece of object being chased continually by 22 players.Losing or winning dosen't 'eliminate hunger or reduce the prices of basic commodities.Hunger in the country is alarming and hope the issue is urgently addressed by our government. |
I think it's a good measure. We don't spend dollar in this country yet we keep hearing of dollar to naira exchange rate every now and then.I am certain not many countries have such obsession for the dollar like we do in Nigeria. Moreover ,we have more than 30 billion dollars already in different domiciliary accounts unutilised. You can remit for the money to be paid in Naira, your currency. |
Cooperate with them and submit the documents they have requested.Their demands are in line with EU and US directives.Nigerians remit billions of dollars annually and everyone must summit proper documents before getting your money transfered. Also try other agencies, western union has high charges. |
Interesting! If this incident had occurred during a regime of a person not from the Southwest, many would have been protesting on the streets demanding for an oduduwa nation. It's called double standard. What is wrong is wrong, even when you have a son at the helm. |
Weight lifting or resistance exercise is essential for weight loss and our overall health.lt improves our physical wellness, balance, strength, stamina, mental health and many more.We lose also our muscle mass and bone density if don't lift weight or do some form of resistance training.lt can done at home, outdoor space or a gym.Body weight trainings like pull ups, squats, sit ups etc are important. |
Just like Akeredo the governor of Ondo state who died in Germany, this one died in Saudi Arabia and would be buried in Nigeria eventually.Nigeria is a burial ground. These politicians would never build a good hospital but would rather fly out for treatment. Shameful! |
Stop giving your money to pastors. We have seen enough evidence in this country, that your pastors are merely fleecing you church members for their personal wealth. You can do some charity work or give to the poor and needy in your community,if you feel like helping humanity. |
History555:Prices are on the rise because of obsession of a foreign currency.lt's our mindset that is hampering the economy. Some people selling those local foodstuff in the markets, have never held or exchange a dollar and yet are engrossed in the price rise, just to make a kill.l wonder,if others in different countries are that obsessed. Most countries in the middle east for example depend also on oil for revenue. We need to begin to calm down. |
