Insult? Savages? Condescending? Supremacist? Dude, what the hell are you talking about?

1. Are most Yorubas found in Nigeria?
2. Is the Yoruba spoken in Lagos different from the Yoruba spoken in Ijebu Ode? How about Badagry?
3. If there were differences between the Yoruba spoken in Lagos and Ijebu Ode, wouldn’t it be highly likely that it will also be different from Yoruba spoken by slaves isolated in a different country about a hundred years ago? Could their version of Yoruba be considered patois due to inclusion of their own local vocabulary?
4. Do languages evolve, generally? Are we still speaking the same English spoken during the Shakespearean times?

Now that you see how I logically arrived at my reasoning, how did you arrive at yours? Could it be that you have an inferiority complex?
Dont mind that retard, you are right. Their language hardly evolves cause they dont get to mix with other Yoruba dialects like the Yoruba's in Nigeria do. When the dialects mix they unknowingly form a more cohesive Yoruba, which causes changes. But those isolated stick to their dialect, and may be stuck in the middle ages. smiley. Its quite cool, you should try to learn from her, and write about it for the future. Records of things like that should be kept to keep the culture alive

The Hausa respect the Igbo. They may not like us, but they respect us. These people know our word is our bond. Unlike you double talking Yorubas.

Our cultures are similar in which we both honor manhood and honesty.

The same cannot be said with the Yoruba.

Whatever makes you sleep better. Yoruba's are natural politicians from birth, we think about what will improve our well being. Its not about the money. Yoruba's have been living in crowded cities for a very long time, before Igbos or Hausa's. SO we know how to demand what the populace deserves without caring about who is hurt. If you dont like it sorry. But you cant compare farmers and cattle rearer's, to city people. tongue. When an Igbo president that is serious about himself, and has shown that he is not about money or the Igbo's alone or the biafra victimization complex; he will become president. Nigeria of today is now more integrated than before. If they threaten violence, their brother's in other parts of the country will die like chickens. SO, bring on the two weeks, their time of issuing nonsense threats have passed. This is a new generation, all that is needed is a credible leader and these elders dont have it. PoliticsAnti-ibb Protest Rocks Abuja by TewMuch(op): 5:22pm On Sep 17, 2010
Scores of tertiary institution students and human rights activists marched through the streets of Abuja and stopped at the headquarters of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Abuja, in protest against the presidential ambition of military president, Gen. Ibrahim Babangida on Thursday.

The development came barely 24 hours after the former military leader declared his ambition to contest the 2011 presidential election under the banner of the Peoples Democratic Party.

The protesters also queried the rationale behind the exclusion of ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo from those slated to stand trial for the $180m Halliburton bribery scandal saga.

A statement by the anti-IBB protesters, under the umbrella of National Association of Nigerian Students, Joint Campus Committee, Ondo/Ekiti axis, said that the general was not the answer to the country’s problems.

The statement by the Chairman, Gbenga Oyebode, and Secretary, Adebayo Olumide, said students were concerned about what would be their fate in the event that Babangida became the country’s president.

The group itemised alleged infractions committed against the country during the eight-year regime of the former leader.

Some of these were alleged bastardisation of the economy, political destabilisation, corruption, human rights abuse and illegal closure of tertiary institutions.

The statement reads in part, “On this ground, Nigerian students of JCC, Ondo/Ekiti states axis, call on President Goodluck Jonathan to set up another sincere and transparent panel that will see to the allegations against IBB.

“If found guilty, he should be penalised according to the law. We shall organise ourselves (in protest), even in the South-West in general, to drive home our position on his ambition if the Presidency refuses to do something to probe IBB.

“We want to ask, if he has no skeleton in his cupboard, why he refused to appear before the Justice Chukwudifu Oputa panel to defend the entire allegations levelled against him.”

The arrowhead of the joint protest, Legal Practitioners and Anti-corruption Crusaders wants the FG to compel the EFCC to bring those connected with the Halliburton scandal to justice, including Obasanjo.

Addressing a joint press conference with the students’ leaders, the group issued a 14-day ultimatum to the FG to start the trial of the Halliburton suspect or face their wrath.

It threatened to embark on a nationwide comprehensive campaign for a mass boycott of the 2011 election, as well as to call on the international community to cease all anti-corruption collaborations with the country after the expiration.

The group said, “Jonathan, in a bid to shore up his wanting anti-corruption profile decided to arraign few scapegoats among those alleged to have benefitted from the $180m Halliburton bribe.

“It is, therefore, a matter of concern that the President keeps shielding Obasanjo and his co-beneficiaries even after the United States has said the FG has enough information to act on.”

The group said it had initiated a legal action at a Federal High Court in Abuja, seeking an order to compel the EFCC to commence the process for the prosecution of all those named in the Halliburton scandal.

In a leaflet circulated by another group of students claiming to come from Bwari campus of Nigerian Law School, under the aegis of Arewa Students Forum and Arewa Citizens Action for Change also want Obasanjo probed. _ Nothing about IBB huh

It reads, “$130m Halliburton scandal: Why is Obasanjo excluded? Who are the real culprits; tell the children the truth now. Impoverishing the nation through outright stealing by leaders must stop.

“We have a life to live, but they say only the rouge shall survive and EFCC turns the other way. Government war on corruption will remain elusive until criminal justice is made equitable.”

“Following persistent call by the civil society organisation for his prosecution over the Halliburton matter, Obasanjo had on May 29 written Jonathan, asking him to unmask the suspects in the matter.

He also denied the allegation that he benefitted from the slush fund.

Obasanjo had said, “Except for the payment of $2.5m to Chief Dan Etete, under the false identity of ‘Omoni Amafegha,’ allegedly in the context of the purchase of five per cent of the shares in Malabu, no payment to high (ranking) Nigerian official has been identified yet.

“Nor has examination of bank accounts (of suspects) shown any important cash withdrawal.

“Unless such elements are found, it will be impossible to obtain the conviction of Mr. Jeffrey Tesler and forfeiture of the frozen monies in favour of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

“It is my hope that the content of this letter would bring about a decision of the FG to make available to the public the full details of the circumstances surrounding the Halliburton bribe scandal and who, if anybody, are the culprits.”

Asked to react to the protest of the group on the Halliburton matter, the Chairman of the EFCC, Mrs. Farida Waziri, said, “The protesters should know that it is the office of the attorney-general of the federation and minister of justice that is now in charge. We have done our own aspect.”

Wahala Dey. But the Arewa Group are not being fair and are not talking about IBB. IBB and OBJ must be probed and face criminal charges, including the return of all their loot. cool

The problem of population pressure in south-eastern Nigeria is compounded by the region's poor agricultural resources. In the absence of adequate technological inputs to increase agricultural productivity through technical innovations, the smallholders resort to some other strategies to improve their chances of at least providing enough food for themselves. In addition to an intensive and more frequent cultivation of the farmlands which are subdivided into diminutive plots the farmers adopt a multicropping system to maximise returns from every unit of land. Also, crop choice is concentrated on those ones which involve less expense in materials and labour input but promise higher productivity. The analysis of data shows that using these strategies the farmers have been able to improve their chances of feeding themselves but they have not succeeded in finding a lasting solution to the incidence of food shortage. The paper suggests that the ingenuity of the smallholders could be capitalised upon to introduce into their farming system some technical innovations that will ensure adequate food supply for the large population of south-eastern Nigeria.

Olodo. Where are the textile mills that 'put clothes on your backs' from the east.
He means Okrika. Igbo's and other groups in the southwest make it difficult for the farmers. The region is overwhelmed. Dont mind them, like they did not almost starve in Lagos as well. No igbo man wants to work on the farm anymore. And the erosion in Igboland is amazing.
PoliticsRe: I Am Running For President Now, Nigeria Can't Wait Till 2015- Nuhu Ribadu by TewMuch: 2:28pm On Sep 17, 2010
na_so:
Ribadu definitely cannot win the presidential election, but really if GEJ gets the PDP ticket and IBB still wants to run under another party in the general elections , then this will affect GEJ'S chances. Only TEWMUCH seem to get the gist so far.

Since SW will not vote for IBB, he wants the votes to be split so that it doesnt go wholesale to GEJ. IBB has also planted OUK in PPA to whittle down GEJ's votes in the SE. What will be left will be just SS and the other northern states where IBB and buhari will have more votes. With Ribadu's entry , even if GEJ has majority of the votes in the first run, the chances are that it will not be sufficient   to declare him an outright winner. If there is a re-run, the chances are that all opposition parties will see it as a one-off chance to upstage PDP, hence they will easily join forces. Secondly a northern candidate will readily step down and ask his supporters to go with another northern candidate.

Even with this scenario GEj still has a strong chance of winning, because the SW will never support IBB in a re-run even if ribadu steps down for him. Secondly, the more the  northern candidates step down for their chosen one, the  less attractive that candidate becomes to the entire south as the presently vieled calliphate script would have come to the full glare of all.

summary

1.ribadu can never win,  he at best will split SW votes .- That is the major strategy, IBB may have decided to do without this region. But he cannot leave it for Jonathan. Also the SE may vote Nuhu (more votes if he chooses an SE VP) and OUK, this will neutralize some of Jonathan's potential votes as well.
2. Jonathan will still have the majority , but might still not be enough to clinch outright victory- His potential votes will be drastically reduced, as Saraki can now claim his Yoruba roots since he has been disowned; and Nuhu's perception as the progressive.
3. Buhari will have More votes in the north than IBB- That will be hard because the illiteracy in the North is IBB's tool. They are very buyable and that is his turf, he can rig it easily. The kind of person that IBB is, i doubt if Buhari has a chance. Except if the Saudana and Emir's endorse Buhari.

4. IBB will have to choose between the devil and the deep blue sea to support in a runoff election---- GEJ or Buhari- Buhari will not win the runoff, the man to beat is Jonathan. Buhari does not have enough greedy and desperate politicians behind his back. Once IBB looks more likely to win, his support base will increase
5.If there is a rerun, the SW will definitely go for GEJ. - The operative word is IF. Which is unlikely, who would agree to a rerun?
6 . . . . . . . . . . .
undecided cry - He is thriving on the disunity between SW/SS and SE. He will forgo SW and split SE terribly. These groups must come together (as secretly as the northerners, maybe go to Ghana for the meeting grin. Although there are too many betrayer's and double agents in these groups.), if Jonathan wants to win. As of now, people really dont feel like they have a better choice in any other candidate than Jonathan. So Nuhu is the spanner in the wheel. cool

Leave it.When it comes to yams sef,Yoruba's prefer ekiti yams. They are sweet for poundo nd eating. Not the agric yams in the east.We have enough arable land to produce our own food.Nd we never complained to anyone that we were starving. These are actually farmer's coming out to make a difference not begging for handout.

PoliticsRe: I Am Running For President Now, Nigeria Can't Wait Till 2015- Nuhu Ribadu by TewMuch: 5:09am On Sep 17, 2010
Another minus for Jonathan is the terrible choice of OGD and AKALA as his campaign coordinators in their states. The people of those states despise this two.It doesn't seem as if Jonathan is serious about change or sensitive to the people's need.He has not even put his foot down on OGD.The members of the assembly are meeting in a classroom. He may want to spite IBB by using OGD in his campaign but he harmed himself cause OGD is already hated in Ogun.May be a double agent, and is damaged goods.

He's a hired hand now.they are using him and he is going to let them.Yoruba's will rather die than vote PDP. You think the other Yoruba states don't see what Fashola has done in Lagos? They think Nuhu is a Hausa Fashola.Ondo already belongs to LP nd they will rather vote an AC candidate than PDP.Even some PDP members.Yoruba's want change and someone that can bring it.They think Nuhu is a badass cop and a rebel. They love him. This is bad for Jonnathan. He has a lot of work to do.

PoliticsRe: I Am Running For President Now, Nigeria Can't Wait Till 2015- Nuhu Ribadu by TewMuch: 4:44am On Sep 17, 2010
The point is not Ribadu winning. Its about diminishing Jonathans votes.IBB already knows where his votes are assured. He's tryna weaken Jonathan.Very brilliant strategy by the way.Hope Yoruba's don't fall for this scam nd they throw a curveball for him. They are always the most unpredictable voters.
PoliticsRe: I Am Running For President Now, Nigeria Can't Wait Till 2015- Nuhu Ribadu by TewMuch: 4:36am On Sep 17, 2010
By throwing various characters like Nuhu and saraki.Jonathan will lose assured votes.Yoruba's in kwara may vote saraki, while other's may go with Nuhu. Now Jhonny nd IBB contest for the other regions, which is pretty much and even playfield. They already have the middlebelt under their thumb nd can rig it sucessfully. Some SS go to Jonathan, SE may be split.
PoliticsRe: I Am Running For President Now, Nigeria Can't Wait Till 2015- Nuhu Ribadu by TewMuch: 4:32am On Sep 17, 2010
IBB can choose to run as an independent can he not? If the Yoruba votes go to Nuhu, IBB won't have to worry about them to win.The votes will be spread out and make it easy for him to compete on a more even platform. With Nuhu, Jonathan's presidency may not be as sure as it was.Yoruba's already prefer everything AC to PDP. Get it?

Sincerely I think the north is throwing these guys in to even out the votes for IBB.Call it a conspiracy but its weird.Saraki an important 'Northern' politician has all of a sudden been disowned. It begs to wonder if they are not trying to seem obvious. What is truly the motive.I wonder.Soon the truth shall come out on that meeting they had.Let's be watching. If there was no ulterior motive why go and hold a meeting all the way in the middleeast?
