4llerbuntu: who ran out of ideas samsung or google?

its not a google device, its a samsung. its announced because it runs vanilla android and google will be the one updating and supporting it. instant updates etc etc. no complaints about carriers or samsung touchwiz

Samsung was not allowed to build a nexus, and if rumors are true, next one will still not be samsung. if u were in samsung's shoes wetin u for do?

thats like the best hardware (if ur not a HTC one lover). so lets see it run with vanilla android.

i dont even understand people anymore. people shout and shout about manufacturer and OEM customisations on phones, no updates etc etc, then they release one that runs stock, na still complain.

if this is not successful, forget about ever having updates faster than u get them now.

if this is successful, expect every other OEM to replicate the idea. meaning we will now have lots of phones other than Nexus with up to date software.

its an experiment in human nature. lets see if the complaints are actually true
This will at best be marginally successful.

Stupid Google...Samsung already takes 90+ % of the total Android profits. Why not throw HTC a bone here and use the HTC One running stock

A playbook is definitely still a better device than other android tablet considering its low price point.

A 64gb is only about #26 grand comes with dual core, stereo speakers, 1080p recording and an apple esque build quality.
And you can probably buy a dual core HP touchpad running WebOS for 20k. Your point?

if not RIP BLACKBERRY
Don't be daft. Blackberry announced the app will work exactly the same on iOS and Android as on other platforms. Fully cross platform chats between Android, iOS and Blackberry.

bobdobbs: 8gb Nexus 4 in Canada is $309 https://play.google.com/store/devices/details?id=nexus_4_8gb&feature=device-featured
I am just wondering what they cost in Nigeria, and if it's easy to buy a Nexus 4 (or Nexus S, Galaxy Nexus) in Nigeria.

If they are easy to get, I make a secure custom ROM, which I sell here locally to Chinese businessmen who used to buy a blackberry, go to China on trips, then throw it away when they returned because the Chinese govt hacks all foreigners phones looking for industrial espionage. They can't hack Grsecurity Kernel + SElinux android, so we have been selling a lot of them. If there is demand in Nigeria, you guy's could do the same thing I do. Seems the Nigerian government want to ban blackberry, which means BB will give them an unlock key to read every single BBM, text and listen in to voice. With custom Android rom, they can't do that so will be high demand.
Most Nigerians don't really care if the Nigerian Govt can read their BBMs etc. And it isn't a large number of BBM addicts yet that are willing to give up BBM for Whatsapp etc.

Average price for the Nexus 4 is 75k in computer village. Strange that this costs 10k more than a new Galaxy S3.

So let me get this straight...the PDP Sokoto are happily telling the world that they are stalking a private citizen all in the name of 'putting his activities under surveillance' and you people are babbling about Tambuwal?

Is it now a crime to meet opposition politicians? Is there any law against that? Are we supposed to call the cops if Wayne Rooney and Lampard are spotted having a drink? Should we impeach Jonathan for meeting with Tinubu for discussions?

Anybody tell me they are carrying out surveillance on me and they aren't Nigerian police or SSS, I'll remove some excess teeth with my fist.
Politics › Re: Boko-Haram Has Started Kidnapping Women And Children by texazzpete(m): 7:15am On May 14, 2013
Typical Nigerians, you cannot see the forest for the trees!
There are two conversations that must take place here. One is the obvious one, the condemnation of Boko Haram's decision to take women and children as hostages and conscript them into a life of servitude.
The other is the necessary condemnation of the evil policy of the Nigerian police to arrest wives and kids of suspects. This is wrong, barbaric and immoral in all ramifications...and must be condemned as illegal too.

This is not to justify Shekau's twisted actions...but police brutality in Nigeria is getting a head and MUST be confronted.

ENEONWO: Hear El-Rufai "Why would i intentionally deceive the world that Soludo's tenure as governor of CBN started in mid-2005 rather than May of 2004?. This only occured when one of the book's editors thought the 2004 date was wrong and "corrected" it but that escaped subsequent editorial reviews. In the face of all the admitted malfeasance, he went on to state "So, Charles needs to substantiate how any assertive error or ommission in the book amounts to "fraud" per his definition. Haba! Is El-Rufai insinuating that Charles should have had the prophetic powers to know that his errors were as a result of improper editing, perhaps, being the result of his impatience in the light of deep rooted desire to prove himself the only man worthy of positive reckoning in Obasanjo's administration? And if Charles had not pointed that out, would it not have gone down as true? In advanced climes, that error alone is enough to retract the whole publication. Only the Almighty knows how many other "unintentional" deception, "errors or ommission" in that book that are yet to be discovered by Charles and other readers. A man who could not painstakingly edit his book, meant for public consumption, is a man who may make public statements that he would deny latter. Such a man should never be trusted, especially with public office!
Your problem is that you lack intelligence. He is asking how, in light of the dictionary definition of 'fraud', does his mistake in the resumption date translate into fraud.
An error in a book does not mean it is fraudulent.

You can have a very good short term memory, but have a poor retention capability over a long period of time. That is why someone can get 90/100 in an exam in 100L but by final year he cannot remember half of what he read for that course.

He says he wrote those things down straight away in his diaries and ledgers.

jackbauersballs:
Shut it you inbred monkey.
The harsh reality is that these policemen all have a death sentence on their heads, simply because they find themselves protecting wastes-of-sperm like yourself.
They must be accorded maximum respect in life and in death for doing the job you are too much of a coward to do.
And if they die doing that job, the least you can do is protect their bodies till they are give proper burials.
You honestly cannot expect men in their position, doing what they do, to accept that when they die,the people they died protecting cant even be arsed to make space for their bodies.

The way they reacted is never right, but until we start respecting these men and what they do, especially regarding combating Boko Haram, these sort of reactions will never be far off!
Hehehe! Your insults do not move me...i am made of far sterner stuff than you, and I see them as the ranting of an intellectual ant that has no weight behind his arguments.
If you will not be pleased to see the body of your relation carelessly dumped on the floor to make room for just a fellow citizen whose body got there later, will you be pleased?

Nigeria is full of millions of hard working heroes and workers who sweat and put their health on the line just to make a living for their families...and it is the taxes they pay - along with their efforts - that keep this country running. Your best wishes for folks like these include having their bodies tossed carelessly aside when policemen die, abi?

Dead bodies decay and rot if not preserved. Relatives have entrusted the remains of their loved ones in the hands of the hospital...and here you are advocating for such precious remains to be left aside as food for maggots or cremated hastily without a befitting burial...yet we all know that that hospital is not the only one with a morgue in all of Maiduguri!

I wonder if you will be this supercilious if you were a patient in the hospital awaiting surgery and you're suddenly tossed outside to die because your bed is required for a Police officer.

RuuDie: No excuses...the policemen are totally wrong to shoot at unarmed civillians but we need to understand something, these guys may have been under extreme pressure and the actions (or inaction) of the medical staff may have only served to aggravate their ire.
Yes, let's make an excuse for the police officers who committed a crime by destroying private property and aggravated bodily injury...all because they were logically and politely informed that there was no space in the morgue.

When the police catch lawbreakers, they do not accept 'under extreme pressure' as an excuse for breaking the law. Why are they then to be exempt from the consequences of their actions, just because they are policemen?

Can you do the job knowing that if you die in battle, your corpse will be left to rot instead of given a proper burial?
Can you do the job knowing that the same people you are trying to protect will logon to Nairaland to curse you out?
Can you do the job holding and AK47 with few bullets and going up against an enemy you were NOT trained to handle who have better weaponry and high motivation?
Can you do the job knowing you are not loved by the enemy or the populace you protect?

Can you?

If you can't, then please shut the fucck up and show some respect.
