CHAIRMAN1: You're a dull fellow. You'll always be known as a stray simpleton. Its you who's playing the tribal card not me. I'm from. The south south fyi. You just gave a dumb example, trying to compare maurice iwu. Iwu was a biolgist cum election admin. Why would u expect him to do well? Name any other cbn gov past or present that has surpased soludo in his achievementshuh Your insults at me will keep going back to u in multiples.
I expected this kind of response, in keeping with your status as a brainless individual. Anyone can see I'm not trying to compare Iwu with Soludo, you dunce! I'm trying to drive into your thick skull that an impressive CV does not always translate into sterling performance.

I'm not interested in comparing Soludo with Okotie-Eboh or any past CBN Gov. Fact remains that Soludo's legacy as CBN Governor has been smeared by his failure to protect shareholders from the crooked Bank CEOs he hobnobbed with. His impressive CV also did not seem to have seen the massive flaw in switching to Polymer notes, did it?

And for all those who worship paper certificates and CVs, here's the CV of one of the worst and most corrupt man ever to hold the position of INEC chair in Nigeria

Maurice Mmaduakolam Iwu was born on 21 April 1950 in Umuezeala, Umukabia, Ehime Mbano in Imo State. He attended St. Pius X College, Bodo-Ogoni for his secondary education. He studied at the University of Bradford, England, receiving a Master of Pharmacy degree in 1976 and a Ph.D in 1978. He was WHO Visiting Scholar to Dyson Perrins Laboratory, University of Oxford (1980), Fulbright Senior Scholar, Ohio State University and won the U.S National Research International Prize for Ethonobiolology in 1999. He was a Professor of Pharmacognosy at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (1984–1993).[1]
Entering business, Iwu became Vice-President, Research and Development of Tom's of Maine, a personal care manufacturing company, and member of the Board of Directors, Axxon Biopharm inc. He served on the Board of InterCEDD, Fund for integrated Rural Development and Traditional Medicine, and Center for Economic and Social Justice. He was the United Nation's Lead Consultant for the development of Nigeria's National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan. Iwu has published more than 100 research articles and is the author of four books.[1]
Professor Iwu was President of the International Society of ethnobiology (1996–2002), member and ex-President of the Nigerian Society of Pharmacognosy, Member of the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene and Member of the International Society for Medicinal Plant Research. He was the Executive Director, Bioresources Development and Conservation Program and a Senior Research Associate at the Division of Experimental Therapeutics of Walter Reed Army Institute of Research, Washington D.C.[1]

Impressive sounding? yes. Yet in theory Maurice Iwu was a corrupt, bumbling fellow.

CHAIRMAN1: You're a bumpkin for hiding behind your laptop to type this rubbish. What do you know about greenspan? Were you expecting greenspan to stop bush from going to war? Alan was head of the federal reserves for the better part of 30 yrs. Is it a coincidence that the low point of his performance curve occured during bushes tenure? Go read his memoirs and see how he blasted Bush. He voluntarily resigned when he saw that the dent on his image was getting worse. Look, obj openly told his advisers that he didn't hire them to heed to their advices. Soludo wasn't exempted from that rule. He did his best and where he couldn't perduade or bend obj, he allowed baba to have his way. You can't have such a cv, consulting for world class institutions by fluke. Learn to appreciate your own! This man did all his degrees to professorship in Nigeria.
Hero worship and an undue fascination with people will always lead simpletons like you astray. Abeg leave the tribal angle out of this, I know many of you jumping to support this man are only doing so because of his impressive CV.
This impressive CV did not prevent him from shunning conflicts of interest and fraternizing with the corrupt Bank chiefs that stole their shareholders money. as someone said before, he did not do well in his primary duty of regulating the banks.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

'Trauma of connecting flights' indeed.
'Across the globe' indeed!

If not for the deliberate encouragement of Pastor worship by these Men of God, why does he or any one of them need to travel around the world to preach the Gospel? Empower others and let them travel far and wide to do the preaching. Must he fly to the US, UK, Australia etc?

The jet was bought for him at a time when tens of thousands of Niger deltans were displaced by massive flooding...yet it was more 'christ-like' for his congregation to buy a private jet that he would use sparingly. Apparently the 'trauma' of waiting in a plush, business class lounge in Charles de Gaulle, Heathrow or Doha is much more than the trauma of being rendered homeless by flood.

Nonsense! And see sheep lapping up this explanation!

BlackBaron: Quad core version is US only, everywhere else is octa core.

Just tired of upgrading...only thing that might tip me over is GPL 3 (for dolphin wii) which is still in very early stages.

Apart from that, I think the improvements are just a tad bit marginal.
UK version is Qualcomm too. So basically the two biggest markets for Samsung are making do with the quad core version.

If anyone is interested in picking up a clean Note II for 63k and a clean 32GB S3 for 55k, lemme know grin

Why? For all the reasons you named. Using the local water as a toilet, and trash heap, is the most obvious reason they should be moved.

Sincere 9gerian: If you insist on wallowing in IGNORANCE, I wish you luck
Ah, but you must remember when our dear President put on his most presidential voice and told us all that MEND was not behind the independence day bombing...only for a South African court to try and convict a MEND chieftain for that crime. Trustworthy, eh? Reliable, abi?

Also spare a few minutes to remember how it is now many months since our dear leader promised us an end to Boko Haram. That is yet to happen. Reliability redefined!

How much are they paying you, my good fellow? Enough to permanently strip you of the moral right to teach your kids "thou shalt not lie"? What is in the bowl of pottage that makes you eagerly sell your birthright?
Politics › Re: Can An Unreliable Buhari Be Trusted? by texazzpete(m): 10:27pm On May 05, 2013
Sincere 9gerian: Very idiotic comparison. Only a fool will compare oranges with apple. You cannot compare decisions in governance and PERSONAL decisions. Governance is about the PEOPLE and as such decisions in this regard maybe changed depending on the mood of the people. Examples abound, fuel subsidy removal, N5000 note, etc.

Personal decision on the other hand is about the PERSON. If I decide not to marry, its a personal decision. If GEJ decides not to re-contest in 2015 its a personal decision. If Buhari said he wont contest in 2015, its a personal decision. And so on and so forth.
Thrice accursed sycophantic m0r0n! Did they tell you that the decision to withdraw Nigeria from FIFA competitions was taken on the behest of the Senate or the House? That was GEJ's personal decision, end of story.

The entire point of this discussion has been unreliability. Personal decisions do not affect 160 million people the way decisions in governance does. So your tacit admittance that GEJ has shown unreliability in many matters of governance is even worse sef.

Sincere 9gerian: Anyway, it is within his right to change his position on any issue but it portrays him as unreliable person. It means we cannot take his word to the bank
You mean like how Goodluck Jonathan announced a withdrawal from FIFA football activities for the Super Eagles, only to issue a complete reversal after being told off by FIFA?

Despite the fact that had he gone on with his harebrained plan to 'ban' Nigeria, we would have been out from ALL football until at least 2014, he still shamelessly basked in the glory of the Nations Cup victory this year, chopping as much credit as he could.

Tell me, does that reversal not 'portray him as an unreliable person'?
Politics › Re: Can An Unreliable Buhari Be Trusted? by texazzpete(m): 9:19pm On May 05, 2013
Sincere 9gerian: The grave implication of the above statement is that if Buhari is elected and he goes out to fight corruption and members of his party members say NO dont fight corruption, he'll not fight corruption. If he thinks of tarring a particular road and members of his party say NO, he'll abandon the idea.

Buhari comes across as man who will just swim with the tide if elected president
So many IF statements in your last post. So what you're saying is that we should not trust Buhari because there is a possibility that his agenda and the agenda of other elected leaders in the party will take a back seat to the Party's self interest.
Yet here you are, slavishly supporting and defending the PDP that has often gleefully told every single elected leader in Nigeria that the Party's wishes are to be followed to the letter and take complete priority!

Your hypocrisy knows no bounds. How were you bought? 30 pieces of silver? A bowl of pottage?

Sincere 9gerian: @Prof Corruption..,I give to you for working hard to bring up all those links. But like I said earlier, all the reports are referring to the SAME incident at Addis Ababa in Jan 2011. No audio or video evidence. No ANY OTHER statement from either the president himself or the his spokesperson to CORROBORATE that statement. So I believe its propaganda.

As for the statement credited to OBJ, that was made on national tv and its true. But OBJ spoke for himself.

Back to Buhari, he not only made the statement credited to him on live tv, he also re-affirmed the statement on several occasions including this:

"For the umpteenth time, I said it (that I won't run again), it is on record that I would not present myself againfor election.
“But after that, I have said so many times that members of my party and groups went and said that I don't belong to myself and that I belong to them. They also said they belong to me.
“I asked them to go and organise the party and if you approach me I may consider it. This is the stage we are"- Buhari

http://mobile.punchng.com/output.php?link=http://www.punchng.com/news/i-may-change-my-mind-on-2015-election-buhari/
According to the post you just made, Buhari said at the same time that "if you approach me I MAY consider it". So where is the lie there?
This is what happens when a paid lapdog like yourself fails to read the material/script his masters hands to him to disseminate.

His 'legacy'? He kept Nigeria one. That is a MASSIVE legacy to leave indeed, especially if someday this nigh-comatose nation improves and becomes great. Politics › Re: Do You Consciously Patronise Made In Nigeria Products? by texazzpete(m): 11:50am On May 04, 2013
Sincere 9gerian: We can complain about govt as much we want but the reality is that our actions and inactions as individuals also goes along way in determining what becomes of our country.

Take the issue of high unemployment rate for instance, do you know that your failure to patronise MADE IN NIGERIA products help to worsen unemployment? Do you know that the more MADE IN NIGERIA products you patronise, the more job is created, which in turns help to reduce unemployment rate?

For every MADE IN NIGERIA product you and I patronise, we increase the DEMAND for workers along the chain in the PRODUCTION and DISTRIBUTION of that product- from the sourcing of the raw materials, to the production of finished product, distribution and marketing.

Therefore, how many Nigerians CONSCIOUSLY patronise MADE IN NIGERIA products? By consciously, I meant deliberately asking for MADE IN NIGERIA products when we go shopping.

Fortunately, most MADE IN NIGERIA products are genuine and also of good quality when compared to imported ones. For instance, MADE IN NIGERIA drugs are the best when available. If you buy a MADE IN NIGERIA anti-malaria drugs, you'r 99% sure you've bought genuine drugs. Ditto other MADE IN NIGERIA drugs and pharmaceuticals. High quality rice milled in Nigeria are the FRESHEST you can get. MADE IN NIGERIA electric cables are the best. And so and so forth.

Therefore, when next you go out to buy, ask for MADE IN NIGERIA products
See this sycophant. How dare you come to us with this, when your master GEJ and all his cohorts refuse to patronise Nigerian doctors, Nigerian hospitals, refuse to use Nigerian pilots in their planes?

Americans are on average infinitely more patriotic than Nigerians...yet millions of American households would rather buy a Toyota Camry over an equivalent Ford sedan. It's all about value for money!

The average Nigerian pays taxes, obeys laws and so on, and in return gets poor power, poor security and terrible leaders. and to cap that all we're expected to patronise inferior goods? LEt the Nigerian manufacturers improve their product and pass on to consumers the savings from local production and see if we don't buy their goods. Instead what we often have are inferior goods, priced absurdly high.

My dear Sycophant, unless you can tell us why the FG isnt exclusively using Innoson motors over those imposing Prado jeeps, I suggest you keep your mouth shut!

While i support a clean up of this forum to get rid of all the ethnic bigots, banning someone for using the spelling 'Ibo' is extremely inane and I hope you truly do not mean that. For millions of Nigerians, that is how the tribe is spelt. Moderation requires hard work and dedication, not a knee-jerk reaction. You MUST look at the context before reaching for the banhammer. Just my 2 cents.

How can we continue to allow these old men with old ideas that have been running our country since our independence to remain and contest for power. How is this the HTC One is "a better phone in many regards"?

PS: Please note that before I am accused of being a fanboy or something I have neither a Samsung or HTC but I do think fairness in reporting is very important.
Hmm.
Slightly better screen, Better design, better build quality, better speakers, better low light camera, Optical Image Stabilization, better built-in storage (slightly faster NAND memory in the S4 but the One more than makes up for it by doubling the memory to 32GB for the base model).

You may argue that 'many' is an exaggeration but there are a significant number of things the One does better than the S4.

Eze Promoe: I never knew before now that you're a PH boy like me. Meka o. Anybody who says Amaechi isn't working is a hater.
P.H is a fast growing city, growing to become like Lagos in population. It's not that easy to control the state entirely, Rivers state soil is very bad, that it can't drain water just like the soil in Imo, Anambra etc. Before a road is constructed in Rivers state, the old soil is removed and a new sharp sand is used to sand fill it.
Talking about Woji slaughter road, you'll agree with me that it is gonna be a very big task. The land is like very high on the road side and the settlement areas have a downward slope which is to say, dualizing it will require the sand filling of those slopes and demolishing the houses down the slope. So I can see why it's being delayed and also note that there are some other projects going on. The one I can see which is speedy is the new dual carriage way linking Airport road with the main Aba road, going through Igwuruta, Eneka, Atali, Elimgbu and Rumuokwurushi respectively.
I can see good works there but not to leave the bad.
Oyigbo roads are very bad and work need to be done there.
Meka o!

Please stop making these silly excuses. It doesn't matter if it's a big task or if you need sharp sand. Rivers State has the resources to carry out these activities...to insist otherwise is not sensible.
Amaechi's 2nd term is a disappointment. We know what he did in his first term...I drive down the excellent Oginigba road daily. The state of Trans-Amadi is a massive embarrassment to any right-thinking person and as Okija Juju said, the neglect of the Woji-YKC axis that houses a massive percentage of Rivers workers (that pay billions monthly in taxes) is very strange.
More than 5 years into his administration and the traffic jams at YKC have not been reduced significantly. The relief road being built is still yet to be completed after how many years. Last year, it took divine intervention before Woji road was patched up a bit to allow it to be motorable. All this praise singing will not help move us forward o!
