BlackBaron: As at now, my phone capacity is 48GB. Slapped on a 32GB sd card after only a few hours out of the box cos I was running out of space already. At any given time, I need that extra space which I use to download latest 720P/1080P yet to be released movies after which I upload to my 50GB dropbox cloud storage. My apps also accounts for a hefty storage of the sum total of installed memories. I also got spare memory which I use if I'm out and without the luxury of deleting.

Couple in my extra files, documents et al and see why a phone like HTC One would never be my cup of tea. Those iphone peeps you mention always swoon and curse when they see the media content available on my phone which they never have the luxury of expanding. grin

2012-2013 comparison or not; at present most don't even know what latest better phones there are out there, mention Oppo 5 or SE Z to some and watch out for their blank faces. The S3 still outsells superior flagships even though it is no longer the best.

Truth is even if HTC One might be better, the in-your-face marketing of S4 would well and truly make sure there is no rival to clinch the heart of potential flagship smartphone consumers.
But there's a 64GB HTC One for around $100 more. When you factor in the fact that you'll pay around $50 for a 48GB memory card (if one exists at that size) then you see it isn't such a bad thing. Plus internal storage is always faster than even a Class 10 sd card.
Phones › Re: Android, Anyone? Part II by texazzpete(m): 4:12pm On Apr 08, 2013
BlackBaron: HTC only have themselves to blame.

Aesthetics and specs looks top notch, however a device with no external storage will never appeal to people like me.
People like you are in the minority. The success of the iPhone shows most people don't NEED external storage. I doubt your total storage used is over 32Gb anyway.
Most people who complain about expandable storage buy a 16GB phone and stick in a 16GB or less memory card. Total is 32GB or less!
I may also point out that the internal memory is way faster than even a class 10 microSD card. 99% of Nigerians who use expandable memory use crappy class 4 or class 6 cards. I use a 32GB Class10 card from Sandisk...I am an exception.

BlackBaron: Their marketing is also just so bland. Bar the few enthusiasts like you and I, quite a chunk of consumers don't even know there are better devices that tip say the S3 off the 'King of android' throne like the Oppo Find 5, SE Z and the HTC One.
You cannot compare 2013 phones like the Find 5 and SE Z with the S3 that came out in April 2012. Why not compare with the Galaxy SIV that blows the Find5 and the Xperia Z out of the water with ease...and is pretty much even (or a bit better) than the HTC One?

HTC doesn't have that much cash for the kind of aggressive marketing Samsung can churn out. You know the massive mindshare Samsung won with their Olympics sponsorship? Samsung is VERY rich grin

4llerbuntu: yeah. too bad the company is too dense to be a business

http://www.engadget.com/2013/04/08/htc-financials-q1-2013/

so how will samsung not sell 95% of the market? the S4 will meet this HTC One at the market despite the months of a head start.
HTC cannot depend on selling just one month before the S4. Their One is designed to go head to head with the S4. They are only failing due to worse marketing and negative mindshare.

I'll spring for the S4 because of more hacks, tweaks etc...and expandable storage. but for the majority of people who don't need these, they still go for the Samsung because of more massive marketing and clever software gimmicks.

The Judge could have ran them concurrently and all he'd have had to serve incarcerated would have been just a year, but I think because it was Wesley Snipes the Court chose to send a pretty strong message.
The courts have to set an example. He was a m0r0n for going to court instead of pursuing a settlement with the IRS.

nenergy: The use of dual/Tri Sim phones in Nigeria will frustrate the MNP. I for one have all 4 sim cards (i use 3 number at a time-1 single sim & 1 dual sim phone),so no need to port. Only dissatisfied customers who use only one line will port.
Not everyone is interested in using your low end Dual or Tri Sim phones, thank you.
Phones › Re: Mobile Number Portability In Nigeria: Advantages & Disadvantages by texazzpete(m): 4:38pm On Apr 05, 2013
luluosas: Disclaimer: Please, this is a personal submission over the behaviours of mobile phone network operators in Nigeria, therefore, don't crucify me for saying my mind. Thank you.

MNP is the acronym for Mobile Number Portability. Every Nigerian knows that the telecoms regulator in Nigeria, the NCC have long been promising MNP to Nigerians for a long time now. The more Nigerians expected this process to begin within the telecoms operators in Nigeria, the more it appears that it can never be possible.
Anyway, the wait seems to be over now with the green light NCC gave that, its implementation will begin (or have began) on 26th March, 2013. Although the four major telecoms operators to begin with the MNP have not release any guidelines on their website, Nigerians are truly looking up to a time they will have the POWER to hire and fire any operator at will, for this is the major essence of the MNP implementation.
From the foregoing, let me quickly say that, after observing the behaviours among the four major operators in Nigeria, which are Glo, MTN, Airtel and Etisalat, I have personally concluded NEVER to port/migrate to any network under the MNP implementation due to the simple fact that, never will a particular network provider tire me down to their service during poor service delivery on their network. To this end, my numbers on the various networks stays as they are at the moment.

Now, every individual telecoms service subscriber to Glo, MTN, Airtel and Etisalat in Nigeria knows too well that, these four operators have one thing in common - poor service delivery. With the continuous deteriorating services these telcos are offering Nigerians and coupled with the fact that, you are sometimes locked-out by these operators from legally using the service you have subscribed, it therefore make no sense for one to migrate under this MNP regime. The issue of drop calls, over charging on calls, SMS failures and charged, data subscription yet unusable, exorbitant data tariff, unable to call with airtime availability, USSD transaction failures, party called unreachable yet with you, charges for service(s) not rendered and so on and so forth, ranges among the challenges we currently face from these operators.

Ordinarily, one would think that with the HUGE profits these telcos are presenting at the end of every year from their investment, it will present a situation of normal business environment satisfaction from the contributors (subscribers) of these huge gains with quality service delivery but alas, the reverse is the case. The trend has always been that, the subscriber is at the receiving end while the operators keep smiling to the banks at their detriment. MNP somehow will address this but not ultimately.

In pursuant of this topic, I may therefore lack substance to fully express my position but, my decision NEVER to port my number or any of my numbers remain.

ADVANTAGE OF MNP:
1. Ability to retain your NUMBER after porting to a new telecom service provider.
To me, this is the only advantage that MNP will bring to the game. My argument is hinged on the fact that, most Nigerian telecoms subscriber today that have refused to adopt a new number from another provider, despite been offered poor and terrible services from their current operator, is borne out of the fact that, majority of the people have been using the said number they don't want to lose from the inception of Mobile Telephone services in Nigeria. Therefore, switching to a new service provider will mean that, you have to notify all your contacts about your new number, thereby giving you extra work to do. But with MNP, your contacts are still intact with your KNOWN NUMBER even though you are now on operator B network.

DISADVANTAGES OF MNP:
1. Tied down for a period of 90 days. I will rather switch Sim cards on my phone than switch a telecom service provider.
Now, MNP gives you the ability to switch a network provider but, only once in 90 days. Should the operator you just migrated falls into serious network challenges, it means you will remain with them no matter your bitter experience at the moment for a 90 days period. Me? Never!

2. Jump-in but can't Jumb-out at will. Today, whenever you are having network challenges with operator A, you quickly switch to operator B by changing your Sim card. In the case of MNP, you can only jump in at a time but can't jump out as you may desire to do with MNP regime.
These and many more are the reasons I will never jump ship for any reason as the current situation stands with all the four major telecoms operators here in Nigeria. They are all birds of the same feather.

Therefore, I humbly submit that, any reasonable Nigerian that want to continue to set the pace for his/her telecoms usage, should reject MNP and embrace multiple Sim card from the four operators. Thank you.

To be honest, I cannot see the common sense in this long epistle. Your solution that users should simply swap another SIM into their phone defeats one of the main purposes of the MNP: Keep your existing number active for ALL your contacts to reach while moving to another network. If I want people to reach me on 08070050054, for example, why would switching to another SIM card and another number be an option?

There are people who get good service from one particular network in their new house. You say switching to that network is not a good idea? If I use MTN and in my area, only Etisalat has 3G, why should i not switch to Etisalat and keep my number? You think service degrades instantly?

You're probably affiliated to one of these carriers who desperately HATE the idea of MNP...because for once it removes some of the chains tying down customers to their network. I have NEVER gotten 3G on my Airtel line in my house...i have HSDPA 3.5G in my house on my Etisalat modem. Why the heck will i not move my airtel line to Etisalat where I am guaranteed faster data speeds all over the city i live in?

In the end, Hashirama was a bit careless...leaving the wood clone behind. I'm pretty sure that's where Madara got his DNA from.
Not sure if any one of you noticed, but there's an ongoing online debate on if madara used Tsukuyomi on Hashirama. In the panel where Hashirama leaped at madara, there's a panel showing the mangekyou sharingan being activated and multiple shots of the dark moon. Very Tsukuyomi-esque.

On the flip side, that doesn't seem possible because

1. There's no way Madara would have let Hashirama leave with the Kyuubi if he wasn't really seriously wounded
2. Edo Madara has a scar in that same place where Hashirama was shown to have stabbed him.

So I'll go with my initial assumption that the DNA Madara stole was part of the wood bunshin.

biolabee: Superb fight scenes
Madara did well to cut the hands of 1000 palms but at the cost of susanoo
I don't think MAdara cut the hands, I think most of them detached and flew to hit the Kyuubi + Susano'o.

jbabatola: Nzeogwu and the coupists in an elaborate historic act remains national heroes who arrested that hour of deplorable political misrule and crisis in the nation. Yet history did not exonerate him and his colleagues for executing the coup in a partial manner. In fact, that was a major reason for the coup failure. It was a coup that shielded the Igbos and mulled down the Hausas and Yorubas. Igbos paid dearly for it and it even formed the basis of declaration of Biafra and the civil war.
So what you're saying is that the coup by Nzeogwu et al indirectly led to the civil war that brought about the death of millions of men, women and children...and triggered off the pattern of army truncation of democracy in Nigeria that has led to our country being a shadow of what it could have been...

...yet you still consider those people 'national heroes'?

I truly hope your idiocy is not hereditary and will not be passed on when you procreate.

Parnassuss: Also there is NOBODY who isn't interested in what Hashirama has to say, but its been four chapters already and we aren't back to the present day, isn't that just bloody stretching? What pains me with Kishi's flashback style is that it stalls EVERYTHING, therefore when he returns to the war we'll see some dead bodies and wonder 'how did they get there?' Kishi places too much emphasis on long drawn out conversations when we already know the outcomes. Frankly speaking Madara's origin story does not jell with the build up we have heard about in the entire anime history from what the Kyuubi, Obito, Jiraiya and Tobirama would have us believe.
I think we can now agree that the only authentic one is the story from Hashirama's lips.
Madara has always been a liar. You think it's by accident that Obito happened to stumble on Kakashi killing Rin?

byrron: Mr all knowing, since u know everything now answer the following questions.

1. since the British government knows we don't have any extradition pacts with them, why is Alams the criminal still wanted in UK when they know he is never gonna step his foot there nor countries they have extradition treaties with since he must have learn lessons from ibori's pilgrimage to Dubai which ended him up in a British prison?
It seems my initial assessment of you as a m0r0n was apt. What does the presence or absence of an extradition treaty have to do with whether a man is wanted or not? Are you sane? So you expect his slate to be wiped clean because he's temporarily out of reach?

byrron: 2. so genocide becomes a crime only when our western masters says so and commences the trial of its perpetrators, until then we as a people lack the capacity to label the mass murder of a people of same ethnic/tribal extraction by a sitting president or head of state as genocide? guess its a friendly killing then.

3. so all corrupt foreign officials in UK and America are all convicted and now in jail right?
WTF are you rambling about? Who mentioned anything about westerners here? What is this inferiority complex behind your 'western masters' freudian slip?
None of IBB, Gowon, OBJ et al have been convicted or indicted by any Nigerian court for Genocide or fraud committed in Nigeria. Ergo, in the eyes of the international community, these men are completely clean.

See what I said earlier about Nigerians doing their hard work by themselves?

byrron: 4. pls disproof these reports here in as regards Mr Dick Cheney a former American vice president since you don't know about this case and were it was committed and which countries laws was broken (http://www.aljazeera.com/news/africa/2010/12/201012851859695283.html).

how it was resolved(http://www.globalpost.com/dispatch/nigeria/101204/nigeria-corruption-dick-cheney-halliburton), (http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2010/dec/15/nigeria-dick-cheney-plea-halliburton.

Reactions from the outcome:
Campaigners in the Niger delta expressed disappointment at the plea bargain. Celestine AkpoBari, programme officer at Social Action Nigeria, said: "I would have loved to see Dick Cheney in chains in our court and facing justice in our prisons. That would have been a very big point that would have lifted Nigeria out of its woes." (http://www.datalounge.com/cgi-bin/iowa/ajax.html?t=9948603#page:showThread,9948603).
The US Government rigorously prosecuted the haliburton case and punished those it found guilty. Cheney was investigated and found clean. The EFCC had no case against Cheney except the broad assumption that he must be guilty since he was the current head of haliburton. That doesn't hold up.

Either way, haliburton as a company chose to settle the matter with Nigeria to keep some execs out of Nigerian court. Your statement was that Cheney HAS a case to answer in Nigeria. He does not. Dick Cheney is free to waltz into Lagos if he chooses to.

You say a man has a case to answer, then you post links that show his company had settled the matter conclusively with the Nigerian Government. Is this a sign of a normal, educated individual?

eldoradoxx: In the end, Africans will be the people to find home made solutions to our problem in Africa and not the pretentious British and American neo colonialists. Do you think that Britain cares if corruption destroys Nigeria where it favours its economy? Is there any present or former political office holder in Nigeria who doesn't owe a property in excess of a million pound in Uk and America? Have u heard their government complain? Do you think America cares about millitancy and oil theft in Niger Delta if it does not affect its economy? Nobody hates the whites as suggested by many posters but my generation of Nigerians seem to have become wiser than our parents in taking supporting and help from America and Britain because of these contradictions. Same people who seem to be more interested in fighting corruption in your country are same people who sell arms to insurgents, same people who frustrate any attempt to develop your economy through IMF policies that ask government to increase taxes and remove subsidies. They are same people who own refineries that refine our stolen crude. They give you 500millionn dollars aid per year but steal 20 billion dollars through fraud from your economy. The truth is that the economy of western capitalist nations would collapse the day there is end to corruption in third world and they will never see it happen. So any fight against corruption in Africa by them should not be celebrated.
Since you claim Black will save themselves, why are you posting in support of a racist stooge that supports the vampiric PDP that is destroying this country?
our Universities are in a shambles...and you're preaching of a brighter future. Is that how the Chinese took control of their destiny? Or the indians? Or the Israelis? Or the Japanese?
You whine about stolen crude. Is it not the Government of Nigeria that allows this crude to be stolen? You naive people still believe its a network of clandestine activities. Fly over the creeks and you'll see thieves with FIXED STORAGE TANKS there. The Government knows where they are...and do nothing!

If the Western nations fight against corruption in africa and It achieves results, then we damn well celebrate. I live for a strong, thriving Nigeria. I care nothing how we come by this realisation. All I know is that this current PDP led Government is leading Nigeria down a retrogressive path...and this lapdog slave called Rossikk is hell-bent on defending the crooks in power.

My dear lapdog, at least we can quantify the amount of money Alams stole. More than 50 billion naira.

You've provided ZERO proof of 'hundreds of billions of dollars' stolen from Nigeria. How did you quantify that amount? How many bags of groundnuts, oil palm and cocoa make up the 'hundreds of billions' stolen?

Why stop at hundreds of billions? Since you're quite obviously pulling that figure out of your backside, why didn't you say 'hundreds of trillions'?! or maybe one quadrillion?

byrron: Both the uk, the usa and all of the so called world goverments are all aiding corrupt past and present leaders in nigeria.
I still remember corrupt leaders still alife here in nigeria that committed genocides and gross human right violation that are still shuttling tru and frow the uk and usa yet the so called world leaders turned a blind eye cause these guys allowed their shaddy oil deals in Nigeria to continue without challenge.
Name any one of these former leaders that have been indicted or convicted of genocide and gross human right violation. I'm waiting.

byrron: Tot d former american vp had bribery and financial case to answer in Nigeria according to efcc?
When is he gonna be extradited back to 9ja?
No former American VP has a case to answer. If there was any proof of his guilt, he'd have been in a US jail by now, joining several former mayors, senators etc.
Provide proof of your claims

byrron: Let's stop fooling ourselves, these guys has no moral right to make all these noise because they actually aid this home criminals from defrauding nigerians and accepting the proceeds in their home countries.
Its only a crime when the british and american goverments says so abi?
Besides, y wait till nw- tot we have hard this extradiction pact with them all these while so y vnt they explored that rule all these while?
SOme shady british companies aid money laundering. When the Govt and scotland yard hear of it, they deal with them. There are some folks being punished for helping Ibori launder cash...

byrron: Besides, y wait till nw- tot we have hard this extradiction pact with them all these while so y vnt they explored that rule all these while?
Tot some yahoo guys have been extradited on so many occasions within the space of a week so y hasn't mr alams been extradited for over 7yrs nw or his case file was missing in uk and only resurfaced immediately he was granted pardon then they suddenly remembered he has a case to answer.
Let them keep fooling gullible Nigerians and not me. If they want alams within 24hrs they can and know exactly what to do so y d noise?
We have no extradition pact. We have never extradited any yahoo boy to the UK. Your addled brain is confusing 'deportation' with 'extradition'. More education would have fixed you.

The Crown prosecution service and Scotland Yard have never forgotten about Alams. If you think the case file has been 'misplaced' or they had forgotten, know that even thief Alams has better brains than you do; he never dared set foot into any country with an extradition treaty with the UK.
Abi you think Alams for no mind attend Tuface wedding for Dubai? cheesy

Emusan: "I installed a Closed-Circuit Television CCTV in our house without the knowledge of my wife". Fateful husband.

My question now is, is it right or can you do it?
The real question should be why a man of your age cannot distinguish between the words 'faithful' and 'fateful' sad

Rossikk: I wonder why you are so desperate for me to "shut the fck up about colonialism". It is not as if the monies stolen from us by the Brits is untraceable. How come they get to keep all those billions while "condemning corruption" . Did they send you here to whitewash their crimes? Your listing what Alams stole just makes you desperate. It is an incontrovertible fact that the British stole 10 million times whatever comparative peanuts Alams did.
Yes, the more than 50 years of crude oil exploration and production in Nigeria AFTER colonist left..the money was not stolen...and it was a miniscule sum compared to monies made in the previous 50 years. /sarcasm

Rossikk: The minute someone throws a spanner in western hypocrisy, their slaves all line up to defend the indefensible. Do you know that Britain rigged Nigeria's independence elections? Do you know she falsified the nation's first census to grant the north a false majority, just so her puppets could rule this country in a hegemony from which we are yet to recover? Then this same Britain plays the hypocrite by "condemning corruption" and what do our so called educated slaves do? They don't question her double standards and hypocrisy. They lap it up like idi.ots. Until the African tells the west to Go to hell and leave Africa alone, we will make no headway as a a people. Those who helped destroy this continent Will not be allowed to play the saint. So go back to your asss licking duties while we go about building this continent.
Thanks for the history less, my dear m0r0n, but what does this have to do with the country Nigeria that your kids and mine will grow up in right now?!
What does this have to do with us in 2013?

Suddenly theft is good to you this paid lapdog because the skins of the thieves are black. You don't seem to care or think that millions of other black skinned people like you are SUFFERING because of these crooks...like this one GEJ just pardoned.

You are just a sad, mean, little man...a dog to be pitied. You rail against 'unlce toms' but you're worse...just a dog.
