So those of us with iPads and iPhones will soon start enjoying mobile DSTV with the Drifta decoder grin

I wonder how they plan to handle the app installation. No Nigerian iTunes AppStore so how will most people get the iOS app? Unless they create a US itunes store account, perhaps.

So you will chase her because of ordinary TELEVISION! FUNNy **hahahaha* What did you do to provoke that in her? Maybe that's her way of expressing her anger. If you chase her now, how are you sure the next one won't burn down your house? We heard of a wife chopping off her hubby's pee-pee because she suspected him of infidelity (not in Naija of course) ; so please stick with the devil tou know because there are worse things that happen in the 'real world'
We've heard you. Make sure you stick to this same 'Provocation begets justifiable violence' mantra when a woman comes here to complain about being battered by her husband/boyfriend.

@OP the most effective way to settle this is to send her sister packing and then make her pay for the TV. Simple!

I sympathise with the wife shaa but he that killeth by sword shall die by sword. Who knows how many unarmed civilian he has killed. They think say na APO massacre which has gone like that cos people involved were civilians or the case of youth corpers who took refuge in a police station hoping to be protected only for them to be murdered by religiuos bigots who were not armed with guns. Shameless Nigerian Police Force. This is a case of AK-47 versus AK-47. Face to face and man to man. If the masses will always give them this kind of jungle justice they wouldn't dare to kill a civilian again, just like this one has taught them a lesson that next time they see a soldier they dare not point a gun at him not talk of pulling the trigger.
ziddy:
People get what they deserve. Even Christ said as much - Live by the sword, die by the sword cool & nobody is going to live forever, so don't tell me I'm 'arrogant because I'm alive'.
So you can stake your life on your claim that the dead policeman has been killing innocent citizens?

There are more than 100,000 policemen in Nigeria. If we take your word for it that each of these policemen has killed at least 2 innocent citizens, where are the hundreds of thousands of civillians that have been killed?

Stereotyping and baseless generalization is the tool of the underdeveloped mind!
Politics › Re: Northern Leaders Plot Secret Coup Against Jonathan by texazzpete(m): 3:45pm On Jun 02, 2011
In Nigeria, the president is nearly all-powerful. All these propaganda stories of faceless groups 'checkmating' the president should not be used as an excuse for non performance.

As it stands, the North is still by far the dominant group in the PDP so which 'control' are these people angling for?

GEJ will likely hand over to a northern president in 2015 anyway.
Car Talk › Re: We Really Need Another Section. by texazzpete(m): 10:35pm On May 31, 2011
I think it would be most effective if somehow Seun could somehow implement a referral/reputation system. Kinda like the 'feedback' on eBay.
This can be exploited, though. So an easy way out could be the mod stickies a thread called "Trusted Auto dealers". In that thread you could have a listing of the trusted dealers on NL and potential buyers can see if they are doing business with known people.

My 2 cents.

Manure United is a great football club no doubt and arguably the best in England if the Liverpool fans will like to accent that fact  undecided undecided . . . But you also need to say the truth the way it is . .Arse-anal played better than Manure against Barca dating way back to 2006 final even with Barca a man -down syndrome lipsrsealed lipsrsealed
As I recall, Arsenal lost that game.

Also, the Ref cheated for Arsenal. Where do you disallow a valid goal to give a red card and a free kick?!

@Topic
This is hilarious so now all Arsenal fans have to cling on to is that they were the 'better losers'?

It is more shameful to lose a Carling cup final to lowly Birmingham when you haven't won anything for 6 years than to lose to the best footballing side ever (Barca)

Politics › Re: Network Failure Within The City Center During The Presidential Inauguration by texazzpete(m): 9:50am On May 30, 2011
You people just amaze me!

There are tried and trusted methods of preventing such attacks, usually by proactive work from the Security services. Shutting down the telecomms network is not a sustainable plan of action at all. Will you shut down all the networks permanently?

violent:
I think your reasoning is terribly flawed!. .

On the day of the London bombings, city of London police ordered O2 to turn off all networks within 2 kilometers radius around Aldgate to prevent further attacks, more than a million phone calls were blocked.
The signal blocking was done AFTER the first couple of bombs had been detonated and it was required as an emergency measure until the situation could be brought under control.
In spite of the huge potential for terrorist attack, did you see any signal jamming during the royal wedding? Were networks shut down during Obama's visit to the UK?

Please be reasonable!

Hilarious to see someone complain about the quality of a game he downloaded for free.

OK this is interesting. The general consensus from the Nairaland public is that Nigerian animation is wack, crap, stinks, rubbish with cockroaches flying out of it!

I'm not going to argue with you as you are the public and you call the shots. As the owner of an animation studio in Nigeria I am interested in changing that status quo so that you the public who are parents would be happy for your children to watch homegrown local cartoons. Many of us animators do.

Now we've established that Nigerian animation is not at the standard you want. How do you suggest we change it? What would you like to see? What type of programs if done right would you let your kds watch? How do you propose we do it right? Would you pay to watch our cartoons in the cinema?

Give us suggestions and insight. Anything would be of help. Because the situation needs to change. We can't keep getting ONLY foreign content for children on our TV stations no matter how good or bad. That's unacceptable. So please provide suggestions and solutions, guidance, whatever.

I know some in the graphics section will be listening keenly. I am.
@AdamuW
You'd do your cause a big favour by just embedding a youtube clip of your animation here.
This is now a 'show me' world, people don't care about 'tell me' again grin

My broda, 50years!, Just wondering if Muhammed Ghadafi would ever have acquired or purchased such an obsolete and outdated warship, only to spend millions of dollars to refurbish it.I personally think there is nothing to justify in such acquisition.
I wonder how old you people think the NNS Aradu is. And that's your Navy's FLAGSHIP! It was built in 1980 grin

Also, while this may be outdated and obsolete for the US coast guard in light of the extremely fast ships employed by the drug running cartel that the Coast guard usually guards against, this craft is a perfect fit for coastal patrol, anti-piracy patrols and general activities that the Nigerian Navy may use it for.

You people need to get it into your heads that the US and Nigeria no be mate in military sense.
The US retired their F-14 fleet ages ago, yet these so-called obsolete planes are every bit as good as the J-7 planes we just purchased from China 3 years ago.

NOT ENOF - BRING THOSE WAR CRIMINALS TO JUSTICE SUCH AS AWOLOWO (posthumously), OBJ, GOWON, ADEKUNLE, etc who contributed to the pogrom against innocent and harmless women and children instead of fighting their counterparts. They dropped bombs on them (civilians), blocked medical supplies, etc

Except that, the blood of these people will 4eva demand justice and u know blood flow neva stops!

I want to believe that many Biafrans wld rather call this blood money - trust me on that.

And besides, what is Nigerian money -mere pittance - compared to real and true freedom - The Republic of Biafra; where your full potentials wld be fully utilised to d benefits of the black race and beyond - see what the western world has done to Africa - marrying nigerians together!

The problem nigeria has is in their national anthem and pledge, there is something vital missing - JUSTICE! There can be no peace, unity and progress where and when there is no JUSTICE!
Also bring all the people who ordered the invasion of the midwest to justice.
Politics › Re: Nigerian-USA Politician's Hotel Bombed! - Tripoli Libya Last-nite! May 26th ! by texazzpete(m): 1:36pm On May 27, 2011
This OP is hilarious.

No long winded post when Gadhaffi's forces were pounding Misrata with Grads and other artillery, no whines of complaint when snipers were picking off civillians at the clinics of Misrata.

She's complaining about the divisions in Libya being put in place by NATO's mission. Without NATO, the 'unification' of the country would have been carried out by Gadaffi over the dead bodies of the protesters and a good deal of the civillians of benghazi.

This nutter opposed the 1991 Gulf War. Left to her, Kuwait would still have been an occupied nation. Go figure.

Bad belle commot for road
In any normal country in the world, the candidates make a huge deal out of their ability to hit the ground running when they are made President/Prime minister or Governors. In the last US elections, it was a big part of Hilary Clinton's and McCain's rhetoric that they were more ready to hit the ground running than Obama. Obama took great pains to dispute the notion that he was a 'greenhorn'.

Here your so-called 'fresh air' is telling you that it would take a whopping 1 to 1.5 years to 'stabilize' and you're eating up this crap without shame? Even people like Beaf must admit that this is utterly shameless. Are campaigns not run on the premise that the candidates have the competence to fill that position?

PS: This was a fantastic deal for the Nigerian navy, hands down.
