Tyche: No matter what the husband says, what she did goes against our customs and traditions. Come to think of it, the reason why we are not really developing is this desperate act to copy western ways. Look at China, we really need to dig deep. So in your opinion the reason why we are not developing is not because of the rampant corruption in our society. Rather , u say it's due to us copying developed western countries? Do us a favor and don't pass on this stunted IQ to your kids. |

Let GEJ go after the price fixing cartel, let him throw open cement manufacturing and importation to everyone. Is that not more in keepin with the 'fresh air' we were promised? |

When I made my previous comment, i did not realize that this statement was made by Goodluck Jonathan. this makes it even more disturbing indeed. In a situation where the President and his cabinet members will routinely travel abroad for minor medical emergencies, send their kids to schools run by Americans and pay some ministers salary in Dollars, it is rather disappointing indeed! Let them practice what they preach and swap out all their Peugeots for innoson motors |

Anyone who tells me to patronize made-in-nigeria goods should go and jump into the ocean. I am a consumer who works hard for his money, I will purchase the best available goods that my money can cover.
Only people who do not pay taxes are keen on this display of pseudo-patriotism. Let the Nigerian manufacturers work towards making their product of comparable quality to the market leading imports and we'll patronize them.
You don't find more patriotic people around than Americans yet Toyota sells more sedans than General Motors in the US! |

naijaking1: I'm surprised you're the only one without a buyers remorse about Sanusi, his failure as a CBN governor, because of his radical islamization of Nigeria via CBN, and his total lack of knowledge about basic economic priciples. From the courts, to the streets, and even here in N/L, I have restrained from yelling "I told you so" to you, Jarus, and a few others. That is immaterial. By your own words, complaining about Sanusi here on Nairaland is the height of folly. You should be out there with a placard in Abuja calling for his sack. The point i'm trying to make is that there is nothing wrong in voicing out your opposition to bad leadership. That is why Americans will complain about unemployment and the spiraling costs of gasoline. That is why bloggers in Iran were drumming up support for anti-government discussions. |

Phones › Re: Android, Anyone? by texazzpete(m): 8:43am On Jun 24, 2011 |
ziccoit: You are just busy employing crook and illogical methods of winning an argument. I am a type that handles people like you everyday.
Your type are professionals in use of emotional words, begging the questions, name calling, attacking the personality instead of addressing the issues, cursing etc. You know what? I have immunity against such.
The parameters that make up a phone specs and ultimately determine the performance are more than 20. There have never been a complete tech. I have what should make the list, out of those parameters, when prioritising my type of phones. If the Manufacture has done well on such that is 'mouth gaping'.
You still need to polish yourself off more. Arrogance is running in your blood vessels. Nice one. So according to you, it is entirely feasible that a 1964 Volkswagen beetle has better specs than a Bugatti Veyron if a certain person has a preference for one obscure detail abi? Oya, between CPU clock speed, screen size, screen quality, GPU and one, choose any one that qualifies as being 'mouth gaping' impressive on the N9 compared to today's Android powerhouses. Look, the N9 may very well be an excellent phone, nobody is disputing that. The OS may very well be slick and fluid. But I called you out on your 'mouth gaping specs' gaffe. Whether you like me or not is immaterial. You do not know what you're talking about, sorry. |
Phones › Re: Android, Anyone? by texazzpete(m): 7:11am On Jun 24, 2011 |
ziccoit: Here you are again diving. You people can't just put across a view without plunging into the mud of immoralities by resulting to insults and name callings. This honestly wanted me to meet you people and accessed your personality. Yes.
If my analogy is beyond the comprehension of your self-esteemed internet warriors lord, I advised you to blindfold yourself and quickly walk away from my posts.
After all, I have a right to my 'moronic', 'unintelligent' and 'imbecility' opinion. Again,(you might have been advised before) you need to come down from your self-acclaimed high so that you avail yourself the opportunity to learn new things in this life that's full of knowledge.
I see in you,an arrogance of immeasurable dimensions. Good day. You know, an online persona isn't really a 100% approximation of how someone really is online. But in your case, it's clear that you're daft enough not to know the meaning of the word 'analogy'. I have 0% arrogance and a 100% intolerance for imbecility. With most comparison metrics (CPU, GPU, screen size) your 'mouth gaping specs' statement has been shown up. Your final argument is as foolish as saying the Google Cr-48 Chromebook (which comes with netbook class intel Atom CPUs) is equipped with 'mouth gaping specs' because it's running a niche OS. Abeg accept your ignorance and keep quiet. |
Phones › Re: Android, Anyone? by texazzpete(m): 11:53pm On Jun 23, 2011 |
ziccoit: You didn't consider N9 to be the first and only smartphone so far to be running MeeGo OS before you made the headlong diving.
If by that you still don't consider a 1GHz processor and the Power VR SGX 530 a mouth gaping on an 'experimental' OS first of its kinds, I wonder what you would have done if you were to head the company rolling out an OS without apps support or ecosystem. Dude, you're a m'oron. You mentioned 'mouth gaping specs'. Why are you now changing mouth? Even Engadget and Gizmodo accept that the CPU in the N9 is hardly cutting edge in these dual core days and the SGX 530 has been out since the iPhone 3GS (Fun fact: it was first announced in 2006). The Harmattan Maemo in the N9 is hardly as 'experimental' as you would have us believe. How is it a 'first of its kind' when it is a refresh of the same OS that shipped on the N900 in 2009? In summary, the OS does not make the specs 'mouth gaping'. I have been enjoying the intelligent discourse in this section for a while, please don't taint it with your imbecility. |

I think this is going to be my next phone. I will have to put hold on SGS 2 for now. You call those specs 'Mouth gaping'? Sun of god: The guy seems to be a joke.
Even the so called 'low life' Ohakim put job creation at the top of the list.
I cant see Rochas lasting 1 term - Imo will be even more Bankrupt by the time he has finished dealing with Imo people.
Without income from students how does he expect to invest in better facilities?
Is he going to start selling bonds thereby increasing the indebtiness of the state? I suspect so.
Nigeria has to many Governors in post not qualified to perform what they are tasked with.
They just get elected on false promises - and once in office they start talking shiite and acting like bush men.
Rochas is clearly only interested in short term political gains - this will come at the long term expence of the state.
Any bank that has loaned money to Imo must consider calling in the loan as the prospects of repayment dwindle everyday this dude is in office. I can't understand your glaring hypocrisy. You were one of the loudest mouths for GEJ a few months ago, why didn't you call him a 'joke' when he was busy making unrealistic promises? Why didn't you accuse GEJ of the same desire for 'short term political gains' when he was busy endorsing and praising the likes of Ohakim, Akala and Daniel? |

fork adict: @ Odiaero. it's people like you that stretch one's patience to its very limit on Nairaland. And when someone loses it and start describing your likes with very unpleasant but very true adjectives, the person will be labelled as rude, insulting bla bla bla.
The writer puts up his article with countless allegations against arik air's management. In your bid to counter his claims you put up such sentiment ridden and downright i.diotic posts above. You are either unintell.igent or a close relative of Arik air's chairman. One of these has to be true.
If you want to rebuff the countless claims in a credible and intelligent way, you should tell us how you interviewed a staff of arik air and asked him questions about how they are being owed 3 months salaries, availablility of water dispensers within their office premises, the non-remittance of their pension funds etc etc. There are probably a thousand serious allegations in the article. You should also tell us if he denied them or not.
Mind you i work. But luckily enough for me, my employer pays me my salary and allowances as at when due. So i cant just imagine being owed a month's salary talk more of 3 months salaries. ARE YOU FORKING KIDDING ME? 3 STRAIGHT FORKING MONTHS? How the fork do i pay my bills, cater for my family? Even if all other allegations in the article were false and this one alone is true, then i boldly say that ARIK AIR IS THE MOST FORKED UP COMPANY ON THE FORKING PLANET! i really empathise with the poster. I dont think you are gainfully employed (although i may be wrong) so i dont expect you to fully understand the implications of this single allegation.
Please note that i am not sucker enough to believe that everything the poster says about Arik air is true. hell no i dont. But you coming on here to present such narrow minded, imbecill.ic defence on Arik's behalf is what i find disgusting. You need to develop a mature, intelligent and objective means of viewing issues man. Don't mind the goat. All he cares about is that the Arik air CEO is from Edo State (where he hails from) and as such he will defend the man to the death even if he catches his rap'ing his wife. Instead of taking on the raised points in the OP logically, he is here braying about conspiracies. |
