lol EFCC should not raid NFA Secretariat o. They should go after OBJ
Yes! The police should not arrest murderers, They should go after Bola Ige's killers. |
Tasma:Then she should be your 'ward', not your 'housegirl'. The funny thing is that a lot of the people who beat, abuse and oppress these 'village girls' are self-professed 'Christians'. |
The evil that MEND popularised is now sweeping across the country. Too bad. chuxy12:I agree with you on the need to improve the number of specialized intelligence officers and trained detectives, not necessarily the number of armed police. However, SIM card registration will not solve anything. All the kidnappers need to do is to buy Pay As You Go lines from other african countries. They'll roam easily in Nigeria on MTN, Glo and Celtel and will not be registered. Also, anyone capable of kidnapping someone is also easily capable of stealing a phone and line from anyone. Naturally, they'll also easily be able to use the victim's phone to make phone calls. |
Jakumo:Easy with your overreaction. I'm pretty sure this law covers the use of underage people as housemaids. And i applaud such laws. I always find it sickening how people who suffered the pains of slavery can easily subjugate and oppress their fellow human being all in the name of 'housegirl' or 'houseboy'. |
http://234next.com/csp/cms/sites/Next/Home/5593103-146/police_shoots_three_on_port_harcourt-aba.csp The driver of a commuter bus as well as the bus conductor and a passenger were today shot by police officers at a check-point along the Port Harcourt-Aba Expressway. Eye witness accounts say that the victims were shot by the police-officers for refusing to give out an illegal toll collected from drivers along the highway. The driver and the bus conductor were shot as they came down from the bus while the passenger was shot in the bus. One of the trio is reported to have died immediately while the others have been rushed to a hospital. The road is now gridlocked as a result with thousands of commuters having alighted from their vehicles and blocking traffic in both directions. Tension is rising with tyres burnt as the protest grows. |
aieromon:Indifferent to the slaughter of innocents? |
Sanusi's beginning to talk too much. Dude sounds a bit strident on the issue these days. |
Kobojunkie:
Better be happy that you are getting a fair share of your oil revenue through DVD's. Common, it's free.
buffox:The article makes it very clear that this whole project is privately funded. I think you guys need to learn to read properly before making snarky comments about 'how much it would cost the Nigerian people' and 'oil revenue'. |
The special disc publication will also mark Nigeria’s arrival in the league of nations with easily accessible electronically arranged national statistics and information references.
'easily accessible'? Have these clowns never heard of something called the INTERNET? Just when you thought these buffoons couldn't get any more comical. |
msb247:Yes! I agree! With all the assassination squads roaming around, why are ordinary murderers and thieves in jail? Why are police arresting mere armed robbers? Open the jails and free everyone since Bola Ige's killers are still free! /Sarcasm Seriously, i find comments like yours to be rather brainless. Every criminal deserves punishment, no matter the magnitude. |
O2ice:Sorry for the harsh words, i've calmed down now i've had my morning coffee ![]() I've always had something against that gadgetville guy (his unrealistically high prices), but reading through his posting history, i can see where he's in the past sprung to the defence of one Ptconsult, a notorious fraudster who defrauded some nairalanders of some of their hard earned cash. If the guy has truly scammed you, why let it go so easily? Post his account details, his number etc so we can swing into action against this dude. |
4llerbuntu:huh? What's the fuss? It was N71,500 in Lagos two weeks ago, so why are you excited to pay even more? |
You're too dumb for words. After the first week with no delivery, no alarm bells were ringing in your head? I can't even imagine why you paid for a PS3 slim from gadjetville - his prices were WAY above market price. Why didn't you just walk down to the market yourself to pick up your PS3? |
ahmedsabu:'talk sh*t'? I'm not interested in spoiling your sales. Be careful not to throw down challenges like that because it CAN be gotten cheaper in Nigeria. Learn how to take feedback. |
dolu2007:@JustCash Yeah, because Sanusi was the one that gave out the non-performing loans that are dragging down the financials of intercontinental Bank. |
Someone should please explain to this illiterate how satellite imagery works. So with one satellite in space orbiting the earth , you expect to view real-time video feed of all the polling booths? Don't people know anything these days? |
cabali:Call me. |
Don't put the hd2 among those two phones. It's a powerhouse with killer hardware, but windows mobile 6.5is a dead end, |
I think people would be more inclined to patronize you if you showed a pic of the real iPad instead of a Chinese fake. It's bad enough you're selling an iPad for double the cost, but you clearly don't even know your own product. |
mikeansy:If FIFA does not kick strongly against political interference on all levels, you'll find a case where an Arab nation will refuse to allow Israeli and US teams into their countries. you'd see people carrying political banners into stadia. You could see Governments dictating the players to be fielded in teams based on their ideologies. you could see (for example) a nation decreeing that only muslims or christians or buddhists be allowed to be team members. In short, football would no longer be the 'beautiful game'. mikeansy:So if there is no evidence that Sani Lulu stole any money (whether because he didnt steal or he 'covered his tracks'), why are you alleging that he has committed fraud? Everyone is presumed innocent until proof of guilt is found. Jonathan should have set the EFCC on Sani Lulu et al, and if no proof was found, then it means that they are presumably honest people. period! |
The Female under 20 World Cup is set to start soon. 23 Nigerian ladies who had suffered through qualifiers were no doubt hoping to play in the tournament and give it their all, knowing that a good showing in the tournament could lead to foreign offers and the chance to improve their lot. If the FIFA ban comes, these innocent ladies would have lost the chance, perhaps FOREVER! I find it exceptionally STUPID that people would easily punish the Falconets, the U-17 and U-20 men and women (who would have featured in the 2012 Olympics, the 2011 U-17 and U-20 World cups) over transgressions of the Super Eagles. So the Super Eagles did not live up to your expectations. Is that reason enough to support a ban that would destroy the dreams of many young men and women? |
Who else sees the irony?? Its no secret that majority of this cotonu sheesh involves bringing cars over the legal age limit into the country brought in through bribes to custom officials or smuggling routes. Those days, My school and off camp apartment being close to the border its was common to hear of custom officers being shot by these criminals or pedestrians run over by speeding smugglers in an attempt to escape customs. Now we see them here beating their chests claiming integrity and barking for people not to soil their 'good' name. On sunday they will go to church and lift up their hands to heaven and thank god, then on monday they'll go shoot custom officers, give bribes and run over pedestrians. Some on their thread they'll give glory to god and allah for business and call gods blessings on their prospective customers. Hey, i'm not saying you shouldnt be a criminal/murderer/smuggler/bribe giver but dont come here with the self-righteous BS. Soon now drug dealers go begin claim integrity and hala us for spoiling their good name.
And again with the generalization. What is it with you people anyway? |
LondonCool:I'll call this how i see it here. if you really have valid complaints to share, why not post them right here, right now so that prospective customers can benefit? I'm surprised people here seem to be pandering to your post. You're generalizing here, is that fair? i've gone through your post history and lately it seems all you've been doing is to heckle all the Cotonou salesmen. Why haven't you extended this 'public service' to the other classes of Auto salesmen here on nairaland? To be honest, at this point it really seems more likely that you have something to gain from the failure of this Cotonou business model. And i am saying this as a guy with zero interest (and hence full objectivity) in the Auto sales business. This is not to say that all these Cotonou dealers are honest. But in all likelihood, the percentage of unserious people in that line of work should be similar to that seen in the pre-orders and auto import business. The truth is, this who mess here is a BIG failure on the part of the mods here. This remains the only BST (Buy Sell Trade) forum i've seen where the first post isn't a sticky with tips on how to avoid scams. |
Acidosis:That should have been 'defiling'. People like you are murdering the English language. ![]() |
tithe:Churches are far worse. People will be blasting their loudspeakers, keeping innocent Nigerians up at night all in the name of 'night vigils'. |
This is the 'technology market' section. Market meaning place where u buy or sell. If you ain't buying or selling, get the hell out of here. There's a 'phones' section to post stuff like this. |
Yar'Adua mandate was for four years, not eight. He would have been up for re-election in 2011. Now he's no longer here, Goodluck has to stand up on his own and seek election. |
Those thieving dogs at MTN will never drop prices unless they're compelled to do so by the government. |
Just as i've been saying for a while - i've been a former Nokia fanboy (used the Ngage, 6600, 6630, E71, N95) who quit when the N-series started declining. Nokia still uses the same old tired Symbian OS (just with minor cosmetic tweaks). The fact that their flagship device still remains the AWFUL N97 says a lot about this company. Nokia's smartphone share is falling like crazy, losing ground to the likes of Android, Iphone and RIM. If they do not do something well to reverse this, they'll regret it in the coming years. |
Also WorldofNokia.co.uk http://www.worldofnokia.co.uk/2010/06/world-of-nokia-to-close/ Closed down on June 1st 2010. here's an excerpt from their last blog post. I thought it only right to explain the reason behind the closing of the site and to be brutal its the fact Nokia have stopped being as creative as they once were not that long ago. The N95 was a modern masterpiece with the exception of the poor battery life but since then there has been a total lack in creativity Nearly every phone launched until the new C/X series was a small update of the phone it was surpassing which itself was only a few months old (just how many versions of the 5800 and N95 did we really need??) The software continues to be bug filled on these new £500 devices and the final straw for a lot of people was the disaster called the Nokia N97 which at £50 a month in the UK some places to get free was far too overpriced and only once the new software came out at last year’s Nokia World could people finally start taking it seriously……, but also at the same time as announcing a software update they announce the N97 Mini (again the same phone but just bits missing and smaller) and the N900 which also will not be getting the MeeGo update everyone was hoping for. Over the past 2 years just concentrating on Nokia, all the phones ended up feeling pretty much the same due to the tired Symbian OS which only now on the new Symbian 3 due out in September has some chance of doing well. |
Popular Nokia Fan site Symbian-guru.com is closing down. The reason? They're tired of Nokia being so mediocre. Read through the link below for their reasons which were captured excellently. http://www.symbian-guru.com/welcome/2010/07/symbian-guru-com-is-over.html |
Vquest:Why is that a shame? If the phone doesn't feel complete at this stage, then why did you waste money on it? And if it does feel complete, why is the fact that there will be no further updates so distressing to you? The key appeal of the N900 is its extensibility. You can bet that geeks will be supporting the N900 with new tweaks, patches and software for a while to come. |

the big thieves are out there claiming to be untouchable while govt is here going after the petty ones?
