The annoying this is that these people here watch ER, Gray's Anatomy and House M.D on DSTV and they start imagining all doctors live in this ideal world where 4 highly experienced medical doctors will team up to see just one patient all the time. Stop posting these silly blame-game comments here. Go to LUTH and see just how overworked and overstressed these doctors are. If you want to help or make any positive change, fight the system that makes Medicine as a profession to be so unrewarding in Nigeria. For a profession that takes most of your time, and 6 years in the Uni, paying a doctor 70k a month is just not good enough. |
tayo4me:And there are so many marriages where men are nagged to death. What do you make of that? Isn't that unfortunate, too? Eldee's point is very simple. In marriages, men and women have been known to cheat. Why then is it not acceptable for men to demand hefty compensation from their wives when they separate over infidelity? Gbenga Obasanjo filed for a divorce from his wife over allegations of her rampant infidelity. Why did we not hear the likes of you and Aloy+Emeka demanding that Moji Obasanjo pay out compensation to the man? |
Resolved. Thanks Oyb, Seun. Dual Core, you be thief ![]() I'm staying away from that iPhone 4 thread, man. it got me and tboy banned, it's Cursed i tell ye! CURSED!! |
tboy111:1. HTC Desire wins on weight, but not on thinness/sleekness. Either way, a weight comparison is pretty silly as weight tolerance is actually subjective 2. Better sat nav software exists on the Appstore. In fact, you're spoiled for choice really. If we're gonna debate on the stock apps included in the phone, we may have to call out Android's mediocre default music and video apps. 3 & 5. Most reviews call out the HTC Desire for having mediocre battery life. I think this is a loss here ![]() 4. Yeah, slightly larger screen. But the increased resolution on the iPhone 4 more than makes up for this. You display more web content in one go on the iPhone 4's screen, you'll be able to play back hi-res video, play games with higher resolution and actually have a screen that's pretty well readable in sunlight, unlike to AMOLED screen used in the Desire. Plus, the iPhone 4's IPS tech ensures viewing angles are superb. The iPhone 3GS had a more precise, sensitive screen than the nexus One/desire anyway. These comparisons are pretty silly anyway. People tend to vote with their dollars and choose what they really want. The plain fact is, people are sticking with the iPhone because the total user experience is killer. Plus the AppStore apps are a pretty compelling reason to stick with the iPhone. |
Relentless nagging is not betrayal. Her frail trust for her husband is justified because he was philandering. How can you trust a he goat?. Marriage is a bilateral contract that demands moral and spiritual commitment from both parties at all cost. Adultery not only breaches the contract but endangers the other party's life and people should be made to pay for it dearly. It is a murder attempt so, party who committed adultery should either pay up or stay in jail for endangering the other party's life. She/he will also be entitled to compensation for emotional pain and suffering. If you cannot keep the marriage laws, stay single.
Endanger life? Murder attempt? Someone sure loves to exaggerate .There's no place in the court papers that insists on 100% faithfulness to your partner. You must be referring to the church vows - and remember that the bride solemnly swore to love and honor her husband. Ergo, nagging and distrust is a breach of those same vows. And it isn't always lower in magnitude than adultery IMHO. There are many men who have had their confidence shattered by having to cohabit with an abusive woman. Some have been driven to early graves. My colleague in the office caught his wife listening outside the toilet when he was taking a dump. apparently her friend happened upon her own husband making a call to his mistress from the toilet, so my colleague's wife decided to also start a snooping campaign outside the toilet when my friend goes for a dump. Isn't that a 'breach' too? But we're going off-topic here, just wanted to show you that things aren't always as clear cut as they seem.
Nobody is killing him because women are rarely predisposed to that kind of reasoning. It is the man who will be considering knocking her out in order to keep all his wealth. I hope she demands and get a female judge sha because it will make her case easier. Nigerian women are sick and tired of the way Nigerian men treat them. Enough is enough.
Nobody in the world will give the woman 90% of the man's wealth. The only way for the woman to get all the money is to bump the man off. Stop pretending as if you don't know what you're recomending she does ![]() |
knick:I'm sorry, but we're discussing cutting edge smartphones here. The Satio doesn't measure up. |
Marriage is a legal contract; if you breach it, you'll pay dearly. Enough is enough for Nigerian men. It's high time they are taught a serious lesson on adultery.
There's nothing in the marriage court papers that states that you'll 'pay dearly' if the contract is breached. Also, what about Nigerian women? Who's to say women don't commit adultery? And as far as marriage is concerned, who's to say relentless nagging isn't a 'breach' of the 'contract'? AT least by her own statement the woman admits to harbouring and displaying distrust for her husband. You swore to love and trust your man. You don't anymore. doesn't that too qualify as a breach of contract?
If he is worth N10 billion, the woman should demand and make sure she gets at least N 9 billion from that wealth. 90% of your wealth or nothing.
I hope you do realize that the only way to be sure she gets at least 90% of his wealth is to have him killed? Just come out and say it plainly ![]() |
, but the avantage that HTC Desire has is that the Android system is much more free than Apple's system, so you can add this and that software, add any music you feel like, give out that music to your friends, in fact, make the phone do anything you want - very unlike Iphone. I'm a hacker, so that's what I like.
Being 'free' is somewhat overrated on the Android side. Apart from the simple truth that the iphone's appstore easily has more than three times the number of apps available to Android, the iPhone jailbreak community generates homebrew apps that rival and in most cases betters that seen on Android. SNES emulators? Already on iPhone. N64 emus? Solely on iPhone. WiFi hotspot apps? Also on iPhone. Also, your post made me laugh. You do know you can easily add your own music to the iPhone, don't you? |
lol @ people saying 'he breached the contract of their marriage' Which legal contract? N300,000 monthly for child support, is the woman on crack? This is Nigeria, she'll be lucky to get a house and N10 million to start life. |
What makes iPhone different from other phones with similar features and functions? Nothing absolutely! It just has all the buzz and hypes! Besides its a woman's dream to have a BF with such a beauty.
Please mention any other phone in the world that has similar 'features and functions'. At the end of the day, what you guys fail to realise is that specs matter little - it's the ultimate user experience that wins overall. The Nokia N97 is loaded to the hilt with all the bells and whistles. Guess what? it's a thoroughly mediocre phone that even Nokia have gone on record to express grave disappointment with the finished product. The N96 had better specs than the N95 in almost every way. It sucked. The ultimate reason why Apple sells so many iPhone is that the overall user experience is top notch in every way. From the build quality to the OS, to the plethora of available apps, it just feels complete. |
tboy1:There are far fewer bugs in the Apple iPhone OS than in Android - and the OS is far more complete and intuitive than what you're rocking on your Desire. Over priced?! please tell us how much the Evo 4G is on sale for in the US. The Palm Pre launched at the same $199 price point (after a $100 mail in rebate for that matter). The 16GB iPhone 4 pricing is consistent with any high-end smartphone launched in the US and the UK in recent times. Please read any review of the HTC Desire's camera - the camera is not top-of-the-range. Equating megapixel count to image quality is just plain silly. And naturally, the iPhone 4 screen is still miles better than that in the Nexus one/Desire. |
oisehumen:Kinda hard for a lady to be a wife-beater, mon ami! |
@topic I hate it when people generalize, I visit the UK at least once a year, and i come across lots of Nigerians living there. Some are struggling to eke out a living, some are pretty comfortable and some are so down-right comfortable, it humbles you ![]() If you restrict your comparison to Nigerians studying on a lean budget, of course it's gonna seem like you're living a far better life in Nigeria. But do a comparison with your contemporaries - professionals of your age, working in pretty decent jobs and you'll quickly lose this faux supercilious attitude of yours. For what it's worth, i usually stay with friends or family except when im in the UK on company business - it saves a whole lot of cash. And when i'm with friends, i try my best to help out, i've seen first hand how many visiting Nigerians don't do anything but head out to hit the shops. |
So you still want to go back to that stuff? You don't even understand that I actually gave you a free pass there. I would rather buy tboy1's HTC Desire. Iphone 4 is over-hyped and over-priced. Small time now, they go find bug inside the OS, and they wan charge you for fix am. Don't care about video phoning, as it has been around for yeaRs in US and Europe, and nobody has time for it. And the cost for videocall again! I guess I mise too much to pay Jobs through my nose for the latest Iphone. ![]() Blackberry is not in the same class, but the avantage that HTC Desire has is that the Android system is much more free than Apple's system, so you can add this and that software, add any music you feel like, give out that music to your friends, in fact, make the phone do anything you want - very unlike Iphone. To think someone paid good money for the OP's education, ![]() |
Emmy2009:Their website has contact details on it. Why would you prefer to post this here instead of asking the merchant directly? Weird, |
princekevo:correction All it matters is for us to win the games IN THE WORLD CUP. We're criticizing now because this North Korea win is from a meaningless friendly with nothing at stake, and we're projecting our performance against the North Koreans in a matchup with the likes of Argentina and South Korea. Do we wait until the world cup proper before we start pointing out lapses? |
jalether:Re-read the part where you're insisting that since 'Almighty' spain could not beat South Korea by more than a goal, therefore all Nigerians should be happy that we defeated North Korea by a 2 goal margin. Since North Korea and South Korea are two different teams with vastly differing play styles and capabilities, what exactly was the point of that comparison? |
jalether:I know it's difficult for you since they both have 'korea' in their name, but please try to remember this one thing: North Korea is not the same as South Korea |
The supersport 3 commentator got it right. Taiye Taiwo is just a wastepipe. For God's sake, what use is a defender who can't defend? Is the 5% chance of him scoring a long range shot worth the atrocious defending from the young man? |
Thereare some things a coach cannot fix. If these guys never get football sense at this age, what do u want the coach to do? |
brosibro:Don't take this wrong, but you're a dummy. The PS2 emulator (Pcsx2) is free, and can easily be found via a simple google search. How the hell did it take you 'several months of searching for it'? There's no God of War on PC, the version sold in computer village is simply the GoW PS2 image file wrapped up in the PCsx2 emulator. |
This is a sterling example of why Nigeria is in such a mess today. Truth be told, the OP is little better than the thief himself. He has twice turned a blind eye to theft and yet you people are coddling him. If he cannot report this matter to the relevant authorities, then let him stay where he is and stop whining about it on Nairaland. if the management catches the fellow now and he confesses that the OP knew about the crimes, guess who's also gonna get the sack? |
@bk/babe We are at different ends of the divide when it comes to our stance on Israel. but everyone is entitled to his opinion. What i highlighted was someone claiming that phosphorus bombs are nuclear weapons. even the staunchest Israeli haters like the head of Hamas or Ahmadinejad himself will not make this statement. |
The aged really should have shored up their retirement savings. Pay them their pensions and gratuity and leave them out of this scheme. 77 billion naira for 5 years is a doable sum. |
1. Get a lawyer 2. Take them to court. |
Mariory:That's nothing. The other day, someone was claiming that phosphorus bombs are nuclear weapons. And to think people actually spent some money on their education. |
Taiwo Akinwumi has never let Nigerians forget it either. The guy has been on a mission to put all Nigerians on a guilt trip. i thank God some inspired fellow went all out to address this issue. Please read this http://nigeriavillagesquare.com/forum/main-square/13768-national-flag-do-we-really-owe-taiwo-akinkumi.html Luckily for the man, he was able to con MTN into lavishing some money on him through the Who Wants to Be a Millionaire program for Heroes. Let's hope that sates him and we don't get the same old tired story trotted out come October 1st. |
mikeansy:Please learn to read properly. Where do you get the idea that either of these two countries is 'fomenting trouble' in Nigeria? mikeansy:And what exactly does this have to do with Nigeria? |
babaearly:No, it wasn't stolen o, a girl studying in the US will happily register a profile on Nairaland and post her photo in the Nairaland hall of Shame, /sarcasm Seriously, this your post reaches a whole new level of dumb. ![]() |
@Seun it's not enough to remove the picture. The troll who posted that should be IP banned as soon as possible. It doesn't make sense to embark on a rigorous campaign of censorship (even puzzling choices like censoring english words like R-A-P-E or S*EX) and yet fail to take steps to crack down on invasions of privacy. just my two cents. |
Look, it doesn't matter what school you louts attended. The fact that you can still make such silly tribalistic statements indicates 1. You're immature 2. Your education is incomplete. If only we had decent mods here on Nairaland, this attitude would have been nipped in the bud much earlier. |
