@all Nigerien and Chadian rebels have long made incursions into some areas in the north, killing innocent cattlemen and rustling their cattle. If the Nigerian Government makes a limited incursion solely to apprehend and destroy the operational bases of these bandits, would that make us all terrorists? |
@RichyBlacK Please don't confuse people who say 'The US is NOT ALWAYS wrong' with 'The US is always right'. That has been a common Nairaland mistake. You constantly announce that you're not against America, that you only loathe people like Bush. Fine. Just when i start believing you, you go and support EVERYTHING people like JayFK say just because it casts your points in good light. For example. . . @JayFK The CIA importing Nazi scientists to perform experiments on Jews and Gypsies? Provide proof or stand discredited. Blaming the CIA for the My Lai massacres. . .you might as well blame the CIA for the recent rape case in Japan. |
Tornadoz:Of course!! and the Qassam II rockets fired into Israel daily explode in a shower of bubbles, confetti and silk streamers abi? Missiles are being fired into Israel almost on a daily basis. an israeli was killed by a missile last week. Pity you didn't bother reporting this, eh? simmy:And the palestinians are in a concentration camp? |
Great yet another drive to push unwanted ads to our phones. bad enough that Celtel (Curses be upon them!) push ads to my phone on a weekly basis, now we can look forward to getting 'vote Obanikoro (the thrice accursed!) on a daily basis. Sheesh! |

Irony of life Man Utd enslaves Arse-anal 4-0, arsenal fans say "it wasn't in the league!! it doesn't affect our title chase! Leave am jo" Arsenal beat Milan 2-0, these same people forget that it has nothing to do with the league, and start jubilating to high heavens ![]() Anyway sha, no wayo. Arsenal deserved to win. Milan looked clueless. |

From Socccernet Contrite Taylor speaks about Eduardo injury Martin Taylor insists nothing would give him greater pleasure than to see Eduardo da Silva back scoring goals for Arsenal. Speaking publicly for the first time since last weekend's sickening tackle that broke Eduardo's left leg, Birmingham defender Taylor also revealed the details of his visit to the Croatia international at Selly Oak Hospital. 'I will be really happy on the day when I see he is back in the Arsenal and Croatia line-up and when he is scoring goals again,' Taylor told The Independent. 'The injury was terrible enough. When he gets back to fitness and he puts the ball in the net for Arsenal for the first time, we will all feel much better. People will be able to see that accidents like these are the nature of football and you can recover from it.' Eduardo's injury was so severe he faces around nine months out of the game, ruling him out of this summer's European Championships. Taylor added: 'I went to see him on Saturday but, unfortunately, he was still recovering from an operation, so first thing on Sunday morning I went to the hospital and he was really good to see me.' Taylor admitted he was worried how the striker would react to his visit, especially as he had heard the magnitude of injuries such as Eduardo's only start to dawn on the patient after they undergo surgery. 'I was mindful of this and I thought maybe he wouldn't want to see me, which would have been fair enough because of the trauma,' Taylor explained. 'Although there was a language barrier, I just said that I didn't mean him any harm at all and that I hoped he made a quick recovery. 'He took it on board and nodded. I was just really glad we could communicate. He is obviously a really strong man. Since then, I have read in the papers that he would be happy for me to visit him. That's something I'd like to do.' Taylor believes Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger's reaction to the injury may have contributed to the volume and nature of the criticism he has received. In the aftermath of the game Wenger called for Taylor to be banned for life, although he later retracted the comments. Taylor has received death threats, but figures within the game were quick to support him. 'Personally it (Wenger's word) hasn't changed my view because I know it was an accident,' he told The Independent. 'But it has affected the way people react to it. Arsene Wenger is one of the most highly-regarded managers in the game and people listen to what he says. 'They look at it in a different light because someone who is so learned has said something like that. He added: 'It is a strange situation, looking in from the outside, watching the news, reading the newspapers. It feels like it is happening to someone else.' see the part i highlighted in bold text? With great power comes great responsiblity. Arsene Wenger was silly to make that kind of statement at all, seeing as how hos words would be taken seriously by many fans. If some crazy person decides to shoot taylor tommorrow, you think AW will ever live it down? |
Mobile phone browsing can kill? i'll believe it when you keel over and die ![]() seriously, if mobile phone browsing keeps you from sleeping, you better seek help for your addiction. |
folahann:Yeah, right. paid by Man Utd, afterall everyone knows Eduardo has been Arsenal's highest scorer this seson, right? If you really believe this, then jokes apart, i have great pity for you. really. |
I just read that I've always considered SA as being one of the most disgraceful African countries. Pathetic.
The actions of a few whites should not be used as a yardstick to judge the entire white community in SA. How would you like it if people judge Nigeria with every single religious riot that occurs there? |
lol To the Taylor haters out here, at least Eduardo's alive. Taylor, on the other hand. has to live with death threats, thousands of which have come flooding in from croatia and arsenal fans. Even his wife lives in fear. is that your idea of Justice? of balance? |

@brauneyes have you really been reading this discussion with 'interest'? because if you'd been doing exactly that, you'd see that all the harsh responses haven't been to the guy who asked the original question. *sigh* seems like poske's not alone. . . @naijafan Hmm. . .are you ready to come over to the side of light? The SDK's coming out next week, so expect the iPhone scene to EXPLODE!!! FWIW, the N95's pretty cool too. been playing around with it recently, and it's good at what it does, i'll give it that! |
ayusman16:Thank Goodness you have no say, then. tosinadeda:in the past commentators have called scenes of players appealing to the ref to card a fellow player 'disgraceful'. Ronaldo was the subject of much derision after the world cup when he got rooney sent off. So for someone to call on authorities to END someone's hopes, dreams and career for an unfortunate but mistaken challenge is extremely stupid. If you don't see the irony in omeone calling for a permanent end of a players career for an injury that may heal in a years time, then i can't help you. |
Donprex:Funny you say that, since Sons of Liberty is thought by many to be the weakest in the series |
Tornadoz:As against your gorging yourself on conspiracy theorist drivel? |
poske:No, i don't work for Apple but i own an iPhone. FYI I also have the good sense not to speak confidently and loudly about things i no next to nothing about. |
almondjoy:lol! You're one hell of an interesting lady, aren't you? ![]() |
Ibime:Said your piece, have you? Good! Now kindly tender proof for the highlighted text. |
Some of us are enthralled at the beauty of democracy at work. Whether you have any aggro with the way the US have tried to 'export' their own blend of democracy to the world or not, we're seeing an election where the average politically conscious person feels he has a say in who leads his country. Some others are not. Kudos to them. But i hope these same people are aware that gist concerning Obama currently makes up less than 10% of the posts on the nairaland 'Politics' page. Tornadoz:and the thousands of Nigerians that flock the the US embassy for VISA, they don't care about Immigration policies enacted by the US Government? Not sure what your point was about Sudan and Venezuela. |
The same people that saw nothing wrong in Ahmadinejad's famous 'The devil was here yesterday; i smell sulphur' speech are fuming at John Mc Cain expressing his mind. The same people that angrily label Bush a warmonger and despise him for making the world a more dangerous place are fawning over a man whose actions brought the world to the brink of nuclear war. I have no qualms with anyone who takes a side in the political divide. However, shifting positions and hypocritical actions can be somewhat disconcerting. . ! |
Ibime:So the frantic attempts by the Bush administration to dissuade the turkish millitary from invading Iraqi territory were lost on you abi? The furore surrounding this action had been on the news for quite a while. How could you miss it? it figures, sha. armchair critics like yourself speak out of ignorance 99% of the time. |
I cannot see what his membership of the Okija shrine has to do with him being a Governor. African traditional religion is still a legal eligion in Nigeria, so why hound him for this? Or is there something i'm missing? |
90% of the posts on the main 'Politics' page is about Nigeria and Nigerians. People who claim to be buried under a raft of 'obamamania' are being untruthful here. There are so many things the Americans do wrong. There are also so many things that the Americans do right, and their democratic processes are clearly part of the latter. Until Nigerians can be assured like their American counterparts that their votes matter, then we have no excuse not to watch and learn from US elections. |
I think the girls on this topic have just proved the poster right. Instead of answering this guy in an intelligent manner, they all seem to take his words as an affront to all women and are subjecting him to a brainless tongue-lashing. Why? The guy hasn't called all women dumb. he's talking about the ones he's met/toasted. and FYI, a grammatical faux pas doesn't make one unintelligent. |
akynojo:Wifi Go to Settings > Wifi . Trun on Wifi and it'll seek out wireless networks nearby. Tap on the Network name to set password (if it's secured) Tap on the arrow beside the name to set stuff like proxy etc. If need be. GPRS Go to Settings > General > Network >Edge Enter the APN, username and password For Celtel i use Apn: internet.ng.celtel.com username: internet Password: internet MTN's settings are as easy as that, i think. Glo GPRS isn't that easy thanks to the fact that there's no visible way to enter stuff like IP and Port. There's a guide i wrote here in this phone section on how to configure the phone to use Glo GPRS. |
