Babalegba: I'm very sorry but you don't reason like an experienced graduate. The Ghanaian did not apply wisdom in the encounter at all and now his action would be seen as racist by most human beings on the planet.A gentle remonstration and correction of the Chinese man would have been better.People do wrongs mistakenly or absent mindedly all the time. I remember smoking a cigarette on the tube train in the UK one day, the whites did not bully me to correct me unlike that Ghanaian bully Why are you guys putting race into this? Do you know if it was the duty of the Ghanaian guy to keep that property clean? For the people in the UK who didn't ask you to stop smoking in the train, it wasn't their job to do so |

Pierohandsome: Racism in display. If it were a ghanian would he hv done same to him?
If it were the other way round, this shithole countries would hv screamed ......... racism!!! And how do you know he hasn't done the same to other Ghanaian? You have no proof to make any accusation of racism. You are just assuming that this Chinese guy was picked on because he is Chinese |

fcisca: I thought there is a question about previous visa denials. He could use that space to come clean and take responsibility for his past insincerity Big mistake. He should just answer the question and say he had been denied. He shouldn't volunteer any further information that hasn't been asked. This a visa application. It isn't a repentance session where someone has to come clean before God by confessing all the hidden sins. They ask you, yes talk about it. They don't ask you about it, just keep your mouth shut. |

njbybrthnly: Hello house, please I want to travel to the US with my 7 mo baby nephew, I've been raising him since his mom passed away 3 weeks after his birth. I want to know if the difference in our surnames will raise a red flag with the VO. Legal adoption is not an option as his dad is against it. What do y'all suggest I do? You will need a consent letter from his dad along with the child's birth certificate showing his dad's name. You may also need your sister death certificate to back up your story. Also make sure you travel with those documents because you will need to explain to different authorities why you are traveling with a child who isn't yours. Child abduction is something that is been tackled very seriously |

Indicate that you were denied a Canadian visa which is a question on the visa application. You dont have to tell them you were banned if no one asks you that |

Mixxy15: Hello Gurus, I need a advise regarding my desire to do an MBA in Canada. I don't want to dive in blind, please I need your valued input. I'm currently in Canada for a three week holiday. I've decided to apply for an MBA in a Canadian school, that starts next year. I'm married with three kids 5, 6, 8 years old. I'll want my kids with me whilst doing my MBA. Hubby has a good job, he's staying back in Nigeria. I run a successful company thats 7 years old. I intend to shut it down while I'm at school.
My questions are: 1. Is it adviceable to apply for my kids as I'm applying for my study permit or wait till I get it then send theirs in?
2. Will it be easier to get the visa as a business owner or as a staff (manager) of a company?
3. What evidence will I need in both cases above to prove that I have ties in Nigeria?
Any additional advice is welcomed.
Thanks in advance Maybe off topic: Can someone run the business for you. Why closing it down? |

jnyuwa02: You can work even without a work permit as a student on campus for 20 hours a week when school is in session and 40 hours a week when school is out of session. If you want to work off campus however, you must obtain a work permit and allowed to work 20 hours during the academic session and 40 hours during the regular scheduled fall and winter holidays when school is not in session. So the answer is yes. Those 22 weeks that you are not in school and waiting the extension of your student permit, you can work full time so far you have a valid work permit. Merci beaucoup |

ozycy: Is it UK visa that is easy to get? According to the experts on Nairaland, a UK VO generally doesn't reject visa application based on his/her discretion. And a rejection can be overturned on appeal. Whereas, for the US visa, you can be rejected based on a VO discretion and there is no appeal. |

Osapaul24: A pleasant morning to you all... in the light of the use of N.Y. in thebstead of NYC... I have a little issue, ,,, My uncle lives in Edgemere Queens N.Y..... I took no notice of it and filled in NYC instead of N.Y in My Ds-160 form... pls what should i do pls?.... I am confused.... I no want make VO use ME shine ni... pls help a brother....is it necessary I fill a new Ds-160 form and effect the corrections or I should just leave it that way? You did the right thing and if there is a confusion, you should be able to explain during the interview. No need to fill a new form. Queens, New York is NYC (New York City) or NY (New York State). I don't know what is disturbing you. Any reasonable VO would understand. |

BabaRamota1980: Just use Lagos as example, a perfect fit.
Lagos State = New York State
Lagos Island = New York City. (A city named for its state)
Ikeja = Albany (the official state capital).
That aside, he was not turned back for not knowing that difference. This is part of my annoyance. Does someone with multimillion naira distributorship going to give that up to go work in the kitchen in US?
Anyway, let me face what brought me here... When someone said I go to New York, it generally means they go to New York City. This VO was just something else. If the person is visiting a different part of New York State, they generally provide the name of the place such as Ithaca, New York Or Albany, New YOrk or Watertown, New York. |

Neljiggy: My POE experience goes thus royal air maroc wasn't bad after all i will give them an 8 star ranking. I had 3hours stopover at casblanca morocco the plane was full to the brim everytime I think Nigerian and Americans really like the airline to cut the long story short after an 8 hours flight over the Atlantic we arrived new York around 7pm we had to que but later the cops told me to go to another que I was interviewed by this cute African American girl she was nice and polite but she questioned why I had not paid for my hotel she asked why i did the booking only so I was told to go. So after getting my luggage I was told by another woman she asked to see my passport so I removed it from my jacket and gave her immidately so she told to go and I was stopped again by another cop who checked the same document after leaving there I decided to put my wallet, passports, my wallet, my ATM passport, drivers license and other valuables in my hand luggage that was my biggest mistake, i left the airport after taking my first two step I was stopped by this huge guy who told me to stop and follow him becauseI thought he was another cop so I was followed him to his escalade he was actually a cab man so he told me he was ready to take me anywhere at first I was nervous because I thought to my I don't even know you but later i summoned courage and followed him after like five minutes drive we got to the car barrier so he told me to give him money I told him my wallet was in his trunk so I gave him 100$ and he paid 35$ and he gave me the change. He said I should pay him 350$ I thought he said 35$, he was adamant about the amount of money. So later he started saying the money was not his, later he started threatening me that he will call the police he said I should give him 100$ first I gave him then later he told me too add 250$ I didn't not answer him so I told to drop me off which he did immidately little did I know the newyork train station was opposite JFK airport I asked for direction so I went inside because this is my first time in new York i missed my way i walked aimlessly for about 2hours finally I got into the train and after like 7mins I got to new jersey train station and I asked a black dude where I could get a sim card because my stupid Airtel sim that I roamed wasn't working my luggage was already spoilt becsuse i was walking aimlessly everywhere so begged a cop to help me kerp my bag I also told a black dude to help me watch it i was gone for about five minutes when I came back my hand luggage was gone. The luggage contained the my wallet, my passports., 2 phones and other valuables so I reported the matter to the cops they told me they will check the security camera. I just got back from there right now they said the police report will he ready on Friday. Model of my long story is American cops don't like black at all so be careful with your belongings. Sorry about the typo. SHALOM Bro, I don't know if this is true or not. You sound very naive for someone who had been on an international flight. Do you mean you end up in New York with no money, no identification on you? |

Pelaiye2703: Please what’s the implication of this? I once gave an guy to have an Ugandan visa on my passport and it hunt me at Abuja embassy. I was in for the interview and they detected it’s a fake visa. The white guy said i won’t have a criminal record but they confiscated my passport and gave me this slip. I was told it will be returned to the Nigeria Immigration. Then i proceed for the proper interview and was handed the blue slip too. Please for those who have vast experience about what’s the possible implication? On your visa application, did you indicate you have been to Uganda? |

Where did we go wrong? We went with statement of account and landed properties they did ask us to show proof of ties.
When can we reapply? First troubleshooting question: Did you use an agent? If the answer is yes, then this is where the problem may be. If the answer is no, then I am escalating your case to the gurus of this thread. |

Job no tie u kankan. Why is your father sponsoring your trip since u work? If u are not currently a student, Father sponsorship might not work being an adult working. Just saying @lanrumaster You first came here saying that you were working for your dad and wanted to apply for US visa. And when dubolog told you that you didn't stand much chance given the lack of tie to Nigeria, you decided to provide fraudulent documents showing you own a hotel, you are married with a child. And when the embassy denied you the visa, you want us to help you repackage the application. Com'on bro! It has been said over and over on here to always said the truth. You may fail on one visa interview but if you were truthful you may be granted the visa on the next application. But now you are facing a lifetime ban. |

Can the details be changed and what exactly needs to be changed please It could be a number of reasons Is this the first time he had applied for a US visa? Did he use an agent? It could also be the discretion of the visa officer. If he didn't submit any fraudulent material, there is nothing to worry about. He can always try again Even presidents are denied visas not just US visas So we dont know what could make the VO denied him |

I am getting different views, please people who came in through Ethiopian airlines, with extra luggage, and went beyond Toronto, I need your responses. Thank you. Did you pay one fare or 2 separate fares ? If you paid one fare most likely your luggages will bw transferred from Ethiopia Airways to Air Canada. Tou wont have to check them in |
