You can enrol your children anytime you land. The school they will attend will be the one in your catchment area except you want to go private or apply for boundary exemptions. If you already know the school you want them to attend, then you need to ensure you find a house within that area. Please check the school’s boundary map well and don’t assume as half of a street may be zoned to one school, while the other half is zoned to a different school.

For Catholic elementary schools in Ontario though, you need to show a Catholic baptismal Certificate either for the children or parent. It’s the secondary schools that accept non Catholics.

In some jurisdictions like London where I live, you don't have to show any baptismal certificate to enroll a child in a Catholic school.

Unfortunately US embassy doesn’t count countries like Uae, Turkey , Ghana .... as having good travel history . They feel more comfortable with stamps from world powers like Germany , France , Canada , Switzerland , Australia , South Korea....

People have been denied visa with stamps from countries like Canada, Uk even USA.
Conversely, people with no travel history have been given US visas

I can answer these questions. I use to work in the oilfields in Northern Alberta. I'll organize them in numbers, my post may be long.

1. If you're married with 2 kids, your main focus should be STABILITY instead of money. A real hustler can make it anywhere, especially in a organized country like Canada. I always said one should chase stability before money. The money will inevitably come. With a wife, 2 kids, and no chance of getting citizenship in these Arab countries, you could be easily sent back to naija tomorrow, and then what ? Your wife's female sense are kicking in. When I first read his post, I was going to tell him exactly the same thing. Jejebaba should go for the best interest of the children by leaving his Comfort zone. Just as the say goes, life starts at the end of your comfort zone. The reason is simple, the Hausas cannot overstay in the USA or reside in western countries. because those countries don't welcome nor encourage polygamous family (eg) 2 wives or more, that is why they run away from staying permanently in these countries. they prefer the suffering here not that they're happy being here but religion and 10 wives mentality is they undoing. my 2 cents.

The US immigration law is such that if the VO is not convinced that the applicant will leave USA at the end of the visit they are more than empowered to deny the applicant.

I wonder why most of us are even making these VO's / consulates overly important. If US visa officer says no to me I'll gladly go to another country. I'll only feel sad if their decision brings about a loss to me (e.g scholarship, fellowship, job losss.... ) . Otherwise if it's vacation we all have many more options.

On the other hand what makes it more difficult for some genuine travelers is that Nigerians have a history of overstaying their visas and immigrating through the non-immigrant visa route. Citizens of countries like South Africa dont usually encounter such difficulties and the duration of the visas issued to them is usually longer than the 2 year M-entry visas granted to Nigerians

I don't know much about Scandinavian schools. However I think there is a thread on Finland schools here on Nairaland that can tell you much of what you want to know.

You can always use Gofundme to raise money and it is free. If you are on Facebook, try to meet as many people as you can, people of all race and nationality, talk to them about your plight and goals and then refer them to your gofundme page to donate. It will work if you are diligent.

Here on Nairaland I have been reading that Scandinavian schools are tuition free. Have you looked into that option?

Yeah but work permit doesn't mean they will be allowed to stay permanently. The work permit is valid for 1 year and can be renewed.

A person would need a strong asylum case for the shortcut to work.

You are applying for a visiting visa ro the US and not an immigrant visa.
Documents to prove relationship aren't required for a visit visa

Their system has evolved over the years that not only do they keep vital records of birth, life and death, but they also maintain a proofing system that insert, concile and purge records based on bio data and cognitive capacity.

I dont know about these people but in the age of internet and 3D visuals you dont need to be in America to know America. Not only that...they showcase their society to us in crime movies.

1 - An expecting mother is required to register her medical status with a medical provider. If she doesnt have the means to afford the service she will enroll in a welfare program and have the service free. It is a means-test eligibility.

2 - The service provider has taken oath and signed papers to the effect that he/she can be sued in acts of negligence in the delivery of service to patients. So every event is recorded and tabulated for the soon to be mother.

3 - Due dates are forecasted for the baby.

4 - By certain timelines modelled events have to occur in the life of the child....like birth registry, immunization, social security, school registration, graduation, academic progression with age advancement, wage and income, tax, ID, dental and medical records, .....and eventually death!

5 - The vital records maintain all these progressions and termination. There is no single person in US with an picture ID whose facial identity and image is not available for retrieval.

So the VO can, with the amount of resources available to their foreign mission, to pull picture of his dad and ascertain semblance. They might not...won't be because its not available, but rather, at their discretion not to be bothered.

The reality on the ground is a far cry from what you have described.
If the government was keeping facial records as a mean of identification, then we would never have cases like this one:

Hey Gentlesleek, may your dad rest in peace. Who is in posession of his personal things? Contact that person and make your request to them to go through and see if any chance of uncovering vital records like pictures, papers, history that can prove your ties to him. Most people are required to prove ties here....it looks like you need to establish ties to your deceased father in US to get a passage.

Good day house, please I need your candid advice. My dad died in the US last year but I was not able to travel to pay my last respect due to the nature of my work. Now I have been granted leave from my work place and I want to visit US with my son and wife to see where my dad was buried.
I was told that I will have to prove to the VO that he is my father, however, all I have is his death certificate and the conversation I had with the medical examiner at the hospital where he passed on. Let me also mention we do not have any pictures together and I lost my birth certificate a long time ago.

Pictures are irrelevant given that a picture can never prove a relationship.
Birth certificate is irrelevant given that this is a visitor visa application and not a family sponsorship application.
No one can tell you your chances of getting the visa.

The vos aren’t stupid. They know spouses lie to use the other as a “tie”, going separately for visa interviews when in reality both intend to travel. Our own penchant for steadfastly refusing to be honest is what is at play here. As I’m sure the vos would tell you, feel free to tear their visa and go to Spain if you’d like.

Actually it was a stupid decision.
And unfortunately there is no appeal process for US visa.
In canada for instance, a VO or immigration agent cannot reject evidence based on hearsay: reasons must be provided for considering such evidence to be unreliable or not true.

Like in this case, what evidence do you hold against the lady except what you describe as "Our own penchant for steadfastly refusing to be honest is what is at play here".
Sorry that alone can't be used as evidence. Else, all Nigerians should be denied the US visa
