I doubt if any married woman will stoop so low. And why would any single lady pretend she is married? |

So, tell me, would you consider relocating to America if you have the chance? Your guess is as good as mine...lol. Oh my God, you didn't answer my question. I was asking about Russia and not South Africa nor America. In North America, black people aren't attacked by mobs of complete strangers like Russia as shown in some Youtube videos. I would say the same thing about UK. I never seen any video of a group of white people attacking a random black person in the UK. Your coloration is wrong. And to answer your question, I live in North America. Canada to be precised. I am still curious to know if it is truly safe for black to visit or live in Russia. And please let us focus on Russia this time and not derailing the topic |

anitank: Forget the country of origin in this story. A lot blacks in the states behave like animals. They’re loud, noisy and always criminal minded. It’s very possible this restaurant has experienced a group of black people having a meal and leaving without paying many times. And you wouldn’t blame them for stereotyping and thinking all blacks are like that.
I once noticed a security woman stylishly following me at Walgreens store, maybe making sure I don’t steal anything. I couldn’t even blame her for that cos I’ve seen what my fellow people of colour can do Then you are part of the problem and not the solution. It is unfortunate |

chukxie: Racism in any form is bad. Nobody should be discriminated against because of the colour of his skin. Last time I checked, the content of a man's character has nothing- absolutely nothing- to do with the colour of the skin his bones are covered with. Racism in any form or shape should be frowned upon. The same way ethnic profiling, religious profiling et al should be frowned upon. With that out of the way, let me say sometimes the crimes and unsavoury behaviours of some blacks against blacks and non-blacks keep reenforcing the stereotype that a vast majority of blacks deserve to be accorded little sense of civility when dealing with them. I've listened to whites and Asians laying out reasons why they not are of having any sort of dealings with blacks especially Nigerians. Some years ago, an atrocious trend was started by some Nigerians in Seoul, South Korea. What those good-for-nothings lots were doing was bailing from taxis without paying the taxi fare. They'd alight a block away from their destination, pat their pockets as though they were retrieving some money then bolt like Usain Bolt! When taxi drivers in Itaewon ( a bustling part of Seoul) realised blacks were fiddling them, almost all of them stopped picking black passengers. The evil of a minute number of blacks literally robbed off on the entire black community in Seoul. So sometimes before we scream racism, we should first take a minute to look into the situation or situations leading up to whatever ugly position we find ourselves as blacks. I like the way you started by condemning racism but your conclusion sucked given that you are justifying racism in the end. White people commit a lot of crimes as well. We have so many white serial rapists, serial killers ... but given that they are white, each one of them is accountable for his own sins. But when it comes to black people, we all pay the price whenever a black person commit a crime |

Boss13: Meadowvale town Centre. The restaurant name is Symposium. Very wrong to ask if he could help me . How about what can I get for you. It’s a restaurant for Pete sake and I was there to either eat or drink. It wasn’t my first time there, but my first time to encounter him. I expressed myself to the Jamaican waitress and he was fortunate because I was on a call to Nigeria when he spat those useless words to me. He later became friendly when my order came. I later listen to his conversation with other customers m, especially white and I heard him say “what can I offer you”. Well the way I replied him like i almost wanted to push him away. How can he ask me if he could help me - did I look like I can’t feed myself again? Plus he was even Asian I am usually on high alert when it comes to issues of subtle racism. But seriously bro, I got some issue with your case. Him asking you "Can I help you" instead of "what can I get for you" could have just been a poor choice of words. It seems to me that you are extremely sensitive but I don't blame you. We may just need people like you to eradicate everyday racism. Just as Malcolm X said by any means necessary. |

BeckyLynch: I really support the motive of the restaurant!
Not everything is racially motivated as some inferiority complex laden Blacks usually paint it.
It could have been that blacks especially Nigerians usually run away in that restaurant without paying after their meal. Blacks are very terrible people. Am certain of what am saying because I have seen them do it most times in Italy. Nigerians just eat and bolt! They call it "street meal". So, I won't be surprised if this man has experienced it so many times from some shitt holeans and decided not to sell to blacks especially Nigerians! Now that it has been revealed the guy is from Trinidad and not from Nigeria, what is your take on the bolded? cc: TheUpsetGirl |

The VO gave me a blue paper . Everything I read there was just centre on not having enough family ties. I told him I am married with no kid yet. VO: why do you want to travel Me: for vacation. VO: what is your company into? Me: is an Engineering company VO: how long have u worked there, I said 9months. Noted: in my new company onece u are confirmed after 6months, u can take your annual leave. I was advised to take it early because August time the company is always buzy. VO: what does y hubby do. Me: work in ****** VO:How long: 5years VO: As what? Me: As ****** VO: av u travelled outside Nigeria Me: yes. Twice to uk, av a 5years UK valid visa, travelled to Dubai VO: where would u like to visit in Maryland Me: I mentioned it. Next thing he told me he is sorry he can not approve my visa and gave my blue paper. So what I found out that might have gone wrong is the 9months I said. So that was why I said that people should make sure they have up to 5years work experience. It could not just be the way you responded. There is a current issue going on. Canadian officials have complaint to US authorities that many Nigerians are using the US visa to come to Canada to claim refugee status. This could also be the reason why many people may be denied US visas. https://www.theglobeandmail.com/canada/article-canadian-american-officials-working-to-stop-nigerians-from-using-us/ |

lovetree: hello house. Please I have a question concerning the catholic French school. I have an almost 5 year old and I will totally love it if she can attend a school where she'll learn how to speak French fluently, but my concerns are;
1) Will she accepted by school since she does not understand French at all and she won't be starting from Kindergarten.
2) Just need your opinion...In case she gets accepted into any French school, will she be able blend well into the system without affecting her grades, as she wont understand what is being taught at first till she understands the language.
Thanks a lot In regard with question 1, I would be tempted to say she will be accepted. But, one thing I have learned through exchanging with people on Nairaland is that the rules may applied differently from one school board to another one. So, it is best for you that you contact the school where you want to send your daughter to and ask them the question you have posted. As far as your daughter been able to blend in, I would say that you have nothing to worry. For the most part, children have no issue with adjusting into a new environment and picking up a new language. A score of children come to North America yearly from places where English isn't spoken, but in no time they become fluent in English . One thing I always tell everyone is to enroll a child in English HIGH School. This will ensure that the kid get prepare to go to University in the States or in Canada without facing the TOEFL wahala. |

SixSigma1: The statement above in bold is not correct. Before September 11-2001 and up to sometime after September 11-2001, permanent residents of Canada from certain countries (Nigeria inclusive) did not need a visa to enter the USA as visitor while PR from certain countries always needed visa . All we needed then was our Record of Landing (now called Certificate of Permanent Residence) and our country’s passports (eg Nigerian passport). There was even no PR Card then. I travelled to the USA with only my Record of Landing and Nigeria passport on several occasions before September 11-2001. USA visitor visa requirements for permanent residents of Canada from country like Nigeria was introduced only around 2002 or 2003. Permanent residents of Canada from countries like Iran always needed USA visa (both pre and post September 11- 2001) to enter the USA. Thanks SixSigma1. I never knew that permanents residents of Canada who are Citizens of some countries were exempted from visa requirement to enter the US before 2001. I thought that the visa requirement applied to anyone who wasn't Canadian Citizen.. |

bettyLad: same thing I told my husband , but u know the process is not an easy one, from the eligibility test , then the English language examination, You think that the Federal Skill program isn't an easy process? And who told you that claiming asylum is an easy process? This is what happens when you claim asylum in Canada. Your case will be referred to a refugee board for hearing. You will be cross-examined by the refugee board members. The board members will ask you every possible questions in order to find any hole in your case. They will try to find any contradiction between your entire narration, your application, the evidence you submitted and Canada documentation on your home country. Those boards members have expertise. A lot of people with bogus cases are caught red handed during the cross-examination. And also your demeanor before the board is also taken into account. The board members will be observant of whether your answers are flowing naturally or you are trying to think of what to say. And this process can be extended through months. It is a torture that you can avoid if you go through the Federal Skill program. In addition to that, even if the refugee board believes your story to be credible and also believes that you have been victim of persecution, they can still reject your case under the ground that it doesn't amount to or fit the definition of refugee under the UN convention. Therefore, it very important to know the definition of refugee as defined per the UN convention before embarking and investing in this long journey. |

peacengine: That young man needs English if he's a Nigerian. You speak and write in English but your son can't speak it and you seem proud? Firstly sir, are you a Naija man or you 'ave become full Canadian with no Nigerian blood in you? I live in Southern Ontario. The influence of the English language is extremely strong in most parts of Ontario. (There is a good French influence in Northern Ontario). Any child growing up in Southern Ontario will eventually speak English regardless of the language that is spoken in his family and his school. French schools have adopted the "No English" policy because of this. The kids growing up in Ontario have the natural tendancy to speak English. Without that policy, kids in most part of Ontario won't be fluent in French thus defeating the purpose of attending a French school. Our 3rd son is almost 4 and can't speak English, it is just a matter of time for him to be fluent in English. Though we have set the "No English" rule in the house, our first 2 sons who are in a French school always speak English when we aren't looking. |
