TravelUnskilled Immigration: The Uncertainties And Risks Involved. by themaestro08(op): 5:54pm On Dec 25, 2019
With the economic situation of Nigeria one may think the best option is to emigrate. Yeah to search for Greener pastures. However, these days, It seems only skilled immigrants are in-demand in almost all developed countries, as such they are paid better and tend to have an easier path to PR or even citizenship.

However, on the hand unskilled migrants, with no skill or talent are faced with lots of difficulties. From securing visa to getting the job itself to the most crucial which is work permit. The uncertainties are numerous. To the best of my knowledge emigrating as an unskilled worker is quite risky and unpredictable. From The U.AE to
Qatar, Malaysia and Turkey, the systems are some how the same - Enter via a tourist visa later change it to an employment visa , Afterwards your employer will secure your work permit (except turkey). In some developed countries you have to go back to your country pending when your employer get your work permit. And even more, the pay is meagre , the working conditions nothing to write home about.

I know a mammoth number of my compatriots are on the verge of taking this route ( a mate just left a couple of months ago). Here is the question does it worth it? Any viable option out there?

Guys what's your take on this issue.

Unfair comparison's! The UAE is on a par with countries like Hong Kong, Singapore and Luxemburg.

Nigeria on the other hand is lagging terribly behind in development thus it should be compared with the likes of Bangladesh,Kenya, Mozambique and Ethiopia

bro if you were on my shoe, which country will you choose
its a matter of what one could afford. I would like to emigrate to either the Netherlands or Switzerland, but one needs lots of cash to actualize this.

So the cheapest option is Germany

if you came across a dozen post a day, claiming that all men are dogs because of the bitter experiences several ladies have had with cheating exes, you would be slightly angry. Why? Because you're human and a male. No one wants to be painted with the same negative color by a complete stranger.
By the way, im as you are; completely realistic. 99% of nairaland males are hypocritical. But dont take my word for it, scroll through this section and judge for yourself.
it is something both genders usually engaged in - name calling and insults.

My take is; don't take most things here deeply because some are simply trolling.

you will be surprised to see how many take this "proposing/ring" thingy seriously... its part of the whole marriage procedure.... and many abide by all its rules and regulation. before marrying someone you should propose...

true

some women out there want the whole fairytale charade... its not about making a scene (or pressurizing someone) but more like doing something that they have been waiting for, since the day they were born.

i think it is completely different than drama, and more to do with society and its view on what marriage actually means. these women need time to wear that ring, and flaunt it around to all people around them. thats why you never marry someone the day after proposing, but instead months later.

do you really believe this has anything to do with being manly?! meaning that men who actually propose aint "real men"?!
do you really believe this has anything to do with money? i doubt it, as even poor people propose (without the diamond ring though)

IMHO this has all to do with society, and Nigerian woman are brought up to view Marriage as a do or die mission, and proposing is part of that whole marriage package.
I for one re-created myself in my early twenties. thus i transformed myself, so I no Longer give a toss about what the society say. just like I said earlier my standards and principles are my compass and I hope I will meet my soulmate who shares my views.

You sound bitter and and slightly angry. Let me speak for my self, i say things the way I see it without sentiment regardless of gender.

Reason why lots of people dislike me. I am a realist.

Don't paint us with the same brush, we are different individuals you know.
RomanceRe: Real Men Dont Fall In Love. by themaestro08(m): 8:04pm On Dec 03, 2019
pansophist:
Truly masculine men do not fall in love, but love (there is a difference). ''in love'', and ''to love'', often used interchangeably to mean the same thing, but they are different. By nature, men express love (to love), and women fall in love (in love).

To love is sacrificial, its to put yourself out there to protect, provide and premium the interest of your beloved, it is putting ''them first'', as opposed to ''me first''. It is the kind of love expresses by Jesus Christ when he died on the cross for mankind, even though many do not appreciate his death and sacrifices. To love is unconditional, it is a decision and less of emotions, its altruistic and not based on reciprocity. This is how men are to love women, and the kind of love instructed by the bible that men should love their women. (Ephesians 5.25), mind you, the bible did not instruct women to love men, but respect men.

Now, women do not express love to men, like the way men express love. Women are ''in love'' with men. The kind of love women have for men is the kind of love men have for their careers. You love the career as far it satisfies your financial needs and interest, it is a romanticized, egoistic kind of love. The love is only retained as far it satisfies your need, it is opportunistic in nature, and will leave when it doesn't fulfill its purpose and has outlived its usefulness. Women love men in a practical way, that is, she will be in love when he is useful to her, by lavish spendings, his high status which strokes her ego and making her feel physically and financially secure.

Men love flows two-step downwards (to his wife, and then to the kids), while women love flow one-step downwards (from her to her children). Women love (to love) children in the same way men love women and children. Women are in love with men, in the same way, men are in love with their career. Got it?
love your analysis man.

are you saying that kneeling in front of the woman, you want to spend the rest of your life with, is degrading?!?!?!

let me be the devil's advocate here: ok so i understand that you may find the idea of kneeling in public awkward, fair enough, but saying that because of such mundane issue, you will give up on the woman of your life, is a bit cheap dont you think?! do you think such woman is found at every street corner?! you may replace her yes, but not for the same caliber i guess (unless you find women to marry every other weekend)
And why should the woman consider me not knelling to propose as a deal breaker? A woman who dramatize such mundane thing like her life depend on it would give lots of headache later in the marriage.

Nothing beats a humble, sensible and considerate woman. kiss

I am pretty sure a sensible woman won't create a scene out of this unless she is a slayqueen. A woman will only pressurize a man to do such if she sense some beta male traits in him or maybe he is broke. A man should be what he is and should be.

That trend only appeals to dramatic people, not every one fancy it you know.

Bottom line: be yourself and be manly, try to be financially stable and you won't even be the one to propose, she will break the ice in an unexpected manner.

1) paying for sex? paying for a woman's affection? is that not what clients do with oloshos?! having sex is beneficial to men AND women thus since both enjoy the act, i dont see why men should pay for it (unless from oloshos)

2) if you want to get married then you have to do whats the norm... you must kneel and beg ask this babe in marriage the right way.
so kneeling down to propose is now the norm?... If yes then I am bound to default it... I mean why should I degrade myself to this extent? Makes no sense to me. That its a trend is something I don't give a toss about. I may even propose while me and my fiancee are relaxing or just doing something exciting, one thing is certain I will never subject myself to this awkward moment. If it doesn't goes down well with her the door is wide open. I will replace her with a nicer woman , it ain't pride its self-worth and self-respect. I have my standards and principles which serves as a guide to my life.

thanks, but outside Germany which other country do you think one can also reside as an African
reside? There must a purpose man, you know these countries follow due process, you don't just sneak into a country just like that, there must be a valid reason: education, tourism, family reunion, business, a highly skilled expatriate or as an asylum seeker.

The easiest route to emigrate is via the study visa reason I suggested it in the first place, and as far as studying is concern Germany will give you a value for your money. The benefits are numerous.

Other countries like Norway ,France are Denmark too has has similar system.( the system is somewhat closely the same in all developed countries)

To the best of my knowledge these are some of the legit ways one could emigrate legally.

Beware of uninformed suggestions and worse beware of travel agents.

among the countries listed above, which do you think is best, for one to get good paying job and less expenses
All are good countries... Your chances of getting a good job in these countries are high, for example Germany unemployment rate is just 3.1 %. Also its cost of living is low relative to its European neighbors.

study visa is your best bet... For a start most German public universities are tuition free.
