Travel › Re: Insomnia Thoughts - Should I Relocate Or Not? by themaestro08(m): 12:44pm On Jan 04, 2020 |
Ekpeitut: Hello my people,
I've had this strong desire to relocate out of naija given the harsh economic climate, the hopelessness, insecurity and other ills. (Note: I live comfortably and earn decent wage, had part of my education outside Nigeria, my job also allows me travel outside every once in a while)
I had started the relocation process but I keep stalling because of the following questions/ thoughts that keeps popping up in my mind;
1. If all the sane Nigerians flee Nigeria who then remains to fight for the soul of Nigeria (Some may say Nigeria isn't worth fighting for) sadly I agree but it's all we've got.
2. The country I intend relocating to have had their fair share challenges but somehow rose above them to create the utopia that now appeals to me. So what's stopping me from doing same in my Country ? ( One tree can't make a forest - that's my answer)
I just want to sample opinions. Please keep them coming. India has more than 18 million of its citizens in diaspora, to be specific 4.4m in US, more than 3m in UAE, same goes to other developed countries as well. Even the UK has more than 5m of its citizens living abroad as migrants. Emigrate while you can, the country will be fixed when the people truly needs change. Don't let patriotism blind you from seeing reality. Grab this opportunity while you can else you will regret your folly. |

Romance › Re: My Friend Wants A Virgin Man For Marriage by themaestro08(m): 7:02pm On Jan 03, 2020 |
We4all: I believe the heading is clear enough. My friend(a lady in her 30's) wants a man who is a virgin for marriage. Her preference for a virgin man stems from the fact that promiscuous men have a high tendency of cheating in marriage and infecting their partners with STD's.
The friend in question is not a virgin, but now that she is ready to settle down, she desires a virgin for marriage. The man in question should be between the ages of 36 and 39. He must be tall and athletic with a good sense of humor.
He must be a respecter of women, liberal in religious views, a neat freak, sophisticated, calm, domesticated and educated.
His level of income doesn't really matter, but he should be able to support himself, while the lady does the same for herself.
Furthermore, the lady is a tokophobic and desires for a surrogate birth while in marriage. So, the man in question should be sophisticated enough to accept that.
The marriage contract will be for a period of 1 year and if things works out fine, there will be a renewal.
If you meet the above criteria and you're cool with the terms, indicate by sending a pm and I'll hook you up with the lady in question. something tells me that this is a fictitious story about an imaginary lady looking for a virgin husband. |

We4all: He was only using you as a rebound. That sweet talk of "you are the kind of woman I want", could have just been mere words and not really that serious.
The truth is, he wasn't really into you. It's good that you were smart enough to figure that out, to avoid stories that touch.
Your ex left you for another woman and I don't think she is to be blamed. Your guy must have seen something in her which was missing in you(unless he was under a spell and not in his right frame of mind).
You must bear in mind that for one to rise, someone must fall. Life isn't fair and that's the way it is!
Regardless, I think the part where you mentioned about his wealth wasn't necessary. In my opinion, seeking 'a standing ovation' for your act wreaks of hypocrisy. Both of you were not into each other and it has got nothing to do with doing the right thing. Guy one fresh punna for you. Your analysis made sense. Yeah I also view it from this angle. |

pansophist: 1. That I am mean. I say my mind, I do not mix words, and I tend to say things to people's face the exact way it is, and many people are pissed by it, although, those who know me well loves me for that and see me as a go to person when they want objectivity. Also, I do not intend to piss people off, but I operate on a principle "telling the truth, and at least not to lie", and as such, there is just no way I can decorate words with sugary appeal. I'll rather not say anything, than to tell you something that is organically different to how I perceive it. I'm authentic, and you'll either love me or hate me, there is no in between. I try to be tactful, and can be insensitive sometimes, I recognize and working on that.
2. That I'm not a happy person. Mere looking at me, one may think I'm angry and pissed, but I hardly smile and if i do, it will be the most genuine thing you'll ever see. With my all 32 teeth in full exposure, and my smile wide like a mega watt light bulb. The places I've been to, that people didn't see me as weird was in Ukraine and mingling with Russians. I am your typically Nigerian Putin. I like straightforwardness, I've defeated my ego long ago, so I like truths, bitter or not. You don't have to worry if I get angry, my brain leads my emotions, not the opposite.
3. I'm weird. I talk to myself, I laugh by myself, with bodily demonstration that baffles people when they see that I'm not interacting with anyone. I just live life by my rules, and it's my own way of expressing negative emotions and let it all out. I just need to walk in nature alone, and my crazy side will flourish unhindered. But I'm not mad, I'm just weird. I overly dependent on myself, hence, I'm completely entertained by my own company.
4. I beautifully loose battles. I'm someone that will let you win those petty fights and arguments, giving you the illusion of success, that you've actually won and subdue me. But the main war, I'll prepare for it and beat you in your game right under your nose. One will feel so stupid afterwards and regardless if they hate me or not, they will admire my skills of picking the fight that truly matters, not miscellaneous battle success that at best, strokes the ego. I'm a master strategist, I am your typical female in a Male body. I calculate alot, I left no stone unturned in this my giant machine called brain. Though, this part of me is reserved for wicked people, you know, those people that sees a kind heart as a ripe victim to exploit. No one has a monopoly of wickedness, and I like to remind wicked people by actions that the gentle walk of a tiger is not foolishness. You just describe me man. I possess almost all of this traits except that I love smiling. I have never seen or heard about you before, just came across you a couple of months ago here on Nairaland, but I completely admire you. I have said it before and I will say it again that you have a spectacular way of thinking. A rare gem is what you are. |

1mrprolific7: Welcome to Year 2020.
If you wake up to log in to NL to learn about the bad news about the country or for tribal masochism, and spend the next 1 hour on facebook or twitter looking at the latest news or trends, then spend another 1 hour on whatsapp looking at peoples' status and personal lifestyle, then spend the evenings to go watch how Chelsea should win or how Barcelona should fail...then keep logging off and on NL to see how many likes or mentions you have had...
then I put it to you that if you continue this trend for the next 2-3 years, especially if you are a youth that has a bright future ahead, the likelihood that you'll end up as a failure in life is high.
If you put all the minutes you spend on unproductive things online, it's enough to find a bearing for your life and loved ones even in the midst of the hardship all around. I saw this comment in a certain thread, and I forgot who the original poster is. Was it you? |

The same kids in America that are allowed to bring home their bf and have sex under the roof. The same place where teen pregnancy is at an all time high, lmao.
Listen, have sense of your own. You must not copy everything from the whites. Those same kids were not abused still go on to shoot up Schools, are disrespectful to their parents etc but here in Africa and the rest of the sane world where kids discipline is encouraged, you'll find that kids are better behaved, more respectful etc. the hardest person to argue with is someone who believe his own lies and living in his own little bubble. She goes through my phone every 3 days most especially at night. She noticed I snore I asked for a separate room, she will never let me, she Insists we sleep with light on.
Sometimes I pray for Nepa to take light. The day I called an ex that works in bank to assist me with transaction due to crowd, she went through my phone saw it, I had to explain out of anger she smashed my phone she does this very often she has smashed hers b4.
