richeeyo:Nigeria squads in the 1980-90 period were 'good', but they usually found it hard to qualify for the World Cup....and they missed the 1986 Nations Cup. But record wise... Nations Cup 80 CHAMPIONS! Nations Cup 82: Out in first round (and lost to Algeria in the World Cup Qualifiers.). Nations Cup 84 : Lost 3-1 to Cameroon in the final at Abidjan (Yuck). Nations Cup 86: DNQ Nations Cup 88: Lost 1-0 to Cameroon in Maroc. in the final. Nations Cup 90: Lost 1-0 to Algeria in the final in Algeria. Kind of mixed..in a way. |
TheShopKeeper:And South east can get VP for 8 years plus president for another 8 years.... 16 years.. |
Excellent advice OP. Especially for people like me with flat feet! |
Considering that PDP does not have the necessary 2/3 majority, and also considering the whole defectorgate issues...I doubt that anyone is in impeachment mode... |
How it WorksThe OP did not mention that banks repeatedly tell their customers NOT to reveal their personal details like BVN, PIN to any one calling, even if it is a 'bank staff'! I agree there are fraudsters , and some bank staff are conniving with them...but if anyone loses his money because someone called to tell him to reveal his details...it is that person's fault. |
juddexy2:Exactly I even got an email this week from my bank, for the ,like 100th time telling me NOT to reveal my pin to anyone, even their own staff. And yet...some Nigerians don;t hear.... |
Hmm Funnily enough, I was thinking about this question this morning... PDP can beat the APC in 2019...because 1.The Middle Belt...particularly Kogi, Benue and Plateau....are probably not going to vote for APC. 2.Kano and Kaduna are in play now...thanks to the defections of Hunkuyi (Kaduna) and Kwankwaso (Kano). Sokoto....probably (2019 will be a test for Tambuwal...more than Buhari). 3.South East and South South will go for PDP....inspite of Akpabio defecting. 4.South West....I see 55-45% for APC....but that 45% for PDP could come back to pain APC... 5.The Middle Belt....the middle Belt.....he who wins the middle belt...especially Kogi, Kwara, Nassarawa, Benue and Plateau...has won the election. Forget about other regions...Middle Belt is where it is at. And IMO....it is slightly tilted towards PDP right now.. Mind you, I am no PDP supporter...and to be frank...I would like to see KOWA or NCP running things in Nigeria. Not PDP or APC again...same old wine in old or new bottles. 6.How PDP handles the Presidential primaries...with Atiku, Tambuwal, Saraki, and Lamido all in the running..is also important. PDP mishandling of certian primaries in 2014...tilted votes to APC. So,if I was a PDP advisor...I would advise a healthy dose of humility and patience in the ranks. |
gayman99:I agree...Brazil is on my to visit list....someday. Having said that...Brazil has high levels of poverty, drug abuse, and inequity. And let's not get started about the racisim...which is very very subtle, and in some ways, makes the USA look like an enlightened beacon of racial equity. |
ModsareChevres:There is no such thing as a baby spending four years in the womb. Thank you and good afternoon |
resurgent2019:Yes...but Nigeria does not need the Army back in power. Over three decades of being in power harmed the Army. I doubt they want to comeback. Sorry...but it is high time we worked out democracy. The 1966 coup was unnecessary. Even if someone i don;t like takes over.and is removed by coup....I will stand for democracy.....democracy first. |
ocelot2006:GEJ was voted out because 1.The recession...due to the drop in oil prices. 2.Corruption...like the missing $20bn, the Stella Oduah case, etc. 3.Several state branches of the PDP were in crisis...plus the nPDP crisis...which split the party. 4. Security...the Boko Haram crisis...and the Fulani Herdsmen crisis...which affected the middle belt. 5.PDP governors in the vital Middle Belt not paying civil service salaries (Benue under Suswam was owing salaries of 9 months by the 2015 election) 6.Dictatorship...the same blockage of the Senate under Buhari happened under PDP...IN 2014. (Tambuwal was at the center of that,...now he is back to PDP....). 7.Some of the GEJ supporters ran a very bigoted campaign....especially against the North and against Muslims...a large voting bloc. 8.Buhari finally learned his lesson....and dropped his bigotry...and started working with other oppositon leaders in other tribes. And before you call me an APC supporter...I don't care for the APC either. They alienated me once they said that they shouldkeep fuel at N40 per liter....with what I knew of subsidies...I knew that won't be possible. I also think Nigerians too don't want real good governance...we just want cake. And anyone that gives cake is popular. Which is why we cannot ask Buhari why he isnt doing more to get us off oil...or why we are going back to a party that squandered resources over 16 years. |
InvertedHammer:No...not this time. The Army was wrecked by all the coups that happened in the past. (There is a reason why IBB was not allowed to contiue in power...a group of Army guys were tired of army being used as political force...they were no match for Abacha though). Also...many of the coups in Africa took place against the background of the Cold War...when global powers could turn a blind eye to anything..so long as it advnaced the Soviet or US cause....not in this unipolar world. We don't need a coup. I am tired of our politicians....but the only way we can get a change is from Nigerians...via the democratic process. Back in the 1960's...people were calling for the Army to 'sort things out'....and on Jan 15 1966...they did. Four years and millions of dead people later.... |
fabianjay101:Recession came when GEJ was in power due to fall in oil prices... so much so that Ngozi Okonjo Iweala was saying as far back as January 2015...that... “The country must brace up for tougher times ahead”, she said. “We need to review our expenditures and build economic buffers through budgets that would be based on modest oil prices.”Things get better in Nigeria when oil rises....and worse when oil falls. And right now...APC nor PDP has the answer...which is industrialization. |
bendike:1.Oil was between $94-123 during Jonathan's regime till 2014....when oil prices began to drop. 2.Oil was at $75 when Bubu took over, went down to $30 in 2016, then back up to $70 now. 3.With higher oil prices..there were more dollars in the market...and that is why things 'looked better'. 4.If oil jumps back to $100 per barrel...things will look better...and you will be praising Buhari. 5.Why AM i telling you this long story....not to tell you that Buhari was better than GEJ, or that Bubu should be excused from his bad management....but to tell you that the problem with our economy is too much reliance on the price of oil. And if Jonathan was still in power..the same issues you are facing...you still would be facing them. The way out is to become a manufacturing nation...but because it involves some hardship ....you Nigerians wont support a leasership that backs such.(and APC nor PDP have an idea how to get there) Instead...you want your share of the national cake. THERE IS NO NATIONAL CAKE. |
Am sure.....That's not what she wore to Church.... ![]() As for the Groom....is he trying to imitate the prophets of old...with that his long gemu... ![]() |
olaolulazio: ![]() Adenuga no go take person wey no get degree in Theater Arts or English....degrees wey I no carry. |
The woman smartly met another guy , married him, and got pregnant for him. That is the full story. No one can be pregnant for 4 years and 8 months. Anyone who is promoting this story should bring hospital reports, scans, etc PROVING that the baby spent 4 years in the womb...wihtout dying and causing release of toxins in the mum's body 3 years ago...or admit that this is a polutry and bovine story |
seunmsg:Yes, I agree PDP is a mess...but APC ? The party of the grasscutter and the NNPC 'subsidy' mess.? |
tbaba1234:APC sure has made a mess of things. They have not run the economy well as well as mishandling security. But the sad thing is Nigeria is going back to the PDP... Thing is, Nigerians don't want change. They just want their share of the national cake every morning by five am. APC, PDP two sides of the same coin. Unfortunately, it is the coin Nigerians want. |
Sigh Instant Christianity, just like Instant Milk...a pooor imitation of the real thing. |
DABREEZYTOS:Yeah , meanwhile her ex has already carried two other ladies.... |
tstx:Not from Oxford University! Was reading one former Oxford student's experience some time ago. White British guy reading English literature. The guy was studying till late in the night 6 days a week. If you slack one bit...your marks could start falling... |
OneCorner:FIXED! |
Referendum50:Dude....do you have proof of your assertion. Because telling lies is not good...and hate is self destructive. And no...I don't vote PDP or APC....so sorry. |
balorx:I rarely wish bad things to happen to people....but I hope some female relative or friend of yours experiences rape...and I hope you tellher that it was her fault and it was because of her dressing...and we should leave the rapist alone. Good morning. I back conservative dressing. I even think girls don't need makeup, attachment, etc....but I also think it is despicable of you to blame women for being raped. Grow up. This is not a joke. |
kongolo:Dami was banned because (I am not the mod, or part of them) he(my presumption) essentially blamed the woman for her rape, and insuinated that she was 'asking for it'.Same thing for the guy you quoted. Dissent is one thing, justifying wrong doing is another. I have treated some women who have been raped. And a good number of them were raped in their own house at gunpoint. Some were attacked by people they know. And we know the stories on Nairaland...some women are invited to a aprty by someone they know...or attacked in their own homes (happened to ayoung lady).... And many women have issues as a reuslt of being hurt. You cannot commit a crime, and justify it on the basis of 'she asked for it'. I back conservative dressing. But based on my experience, I don't think I can agree with the presumption that women are raped because of their provocative dressing. Or go and ask the Kenyan writer Ngugi wa Thiong'o...whose wife...an elderly woman in her sixties..whose dressing was that of a woman her age (and who does not look that attractive even..apologies to the great writer) was raped by armed robbers in her home several years ago...infront of her husband. |
balorx:It won't because rapists don't necessarily work based on dressing.A rapist will rape a girl who dresses conservatively., or loosely...it does not matter. Now, I am a man who fully supports conservative dressing. At the same time, I also support men controlling themsevles well. You see, we men are the stronger gender, women are the weaker gender...and being stronger confers on us the responsibility to be strong in everything...including controlling our thoughts. If a woman is raped and we blame her dressing...where is the blame for the 'responsibility' that men have in controlling their thoughts.? |
obentenyson:THing is, many women who get raped are not 'dressed loose', they dress very very conservatively. A rapist does not necessarily take the way women dress into consideraiton when commiting his criminal act. |
PurplePatch:I agree with all your points, except point no 3. There are ladies who dress conservatively, and they still got raped. A rapist does not care about dressing...all they care about is attacking. Also, dressing like a loose woman does not mean that the woman wants to be raped, any more than a guy wearing nothing but shorts to show off his six packs means that women should now grope and make sexual advances, even rape towards him. I have seen many women dressed 'loose' and have never ever contemplated raping them, or haivng intercourse with them, and if I do, I keep it at thought level..and dismiss it...than practicalise it. We men need to control ourselves. We are not monkeys. |
ontolegit:Yeah I doubt Seedorf and Klivert can do much for Cameroon. Name player does not equal name coach. Still desperate times call for desperate measures. The Indomitable Lions have been looking like skinny cats recently. Like, how can Nigeria.beat them 4-1 ,in Yaounde? |
sassysure:Kai...see wise comment. If you are going to read a postgraduate course...you are going there for research...at least you have an idea of what kind of research you are doing. But most Nigerians.... |
