CChillz:1. Making it in the U17 football team does not guarantee you a successful football career. As an example, there were two french guys who were the talk of the town in the 2001 edition of the mundial. Both of them did not break into the senior French team. 2. Football in Nigeria is grossly underfunded. That is self explanatory. 3.Getting into a European clubside is not easy. You have to compete with the local boys and with boys from other countries. |
coolzeal:Largely because the white men, the rogues among them inclusive, know how to treat a lady... hold door open for them, pull out chairs for them, etc. |
Tonymario58:1. I am not Yoruba, Igbo or Hausa...from a minority tribe. 2.What is 'Afo wetin' about stating the fact that we are losing athletes due to lack of money? Shebi Govt or the federations sports can't do something about it. Please, take your tribalism elsewhere. |
labake1:Automotive mechanic. (I'm not joking) |
Esseite:Right, what has the state too done about making the environment conduicive for job growth.? States were created for the purpose of bringing governance closer to the people...yet many states just collect allocation and do nada. The 15m job loss was inevitable...ONCE oil prices fell...which is why we should not be relying on the price of oil (and unfortunately neither PDP or APC has a solution for the issue)..but rather innovaiton and education. |
Basic problem is our sports federations don't have money, plus corruption is chopping what little money they have (See the large groups of people that travel for the olympics from Nigeria at our expense...who have nothing to do with sports). Either we raise taxes, or take IMF loan so that we can raise more kudi for sports. Glory Alozie defected to Spain. Nigeria was offering her stipend of $2000monthly. Spain offered her $24000 monthly plus coach and physio free. Bahrain too....they are not serious. Buying athletic success is not the way forward. Spend that oil money on your own homegrown athletes please! |
They are still sharing the money under APC,... One problem with Nigeria's states is that for the most part (not all of them) they basically exist to collect revenue from the center. Even if we had regions....the same thing happens. |
gurnam:Nice argument, at the bolded. IN the early part of the war, the Midwest was neutral, the SW was ambivalent, the North was comitted....it was the invasion of the Midwestern region and the Western Region that completely changed things .... 1.The Federal Govt declared TOTAL WAR (initially it was a 'police action') 2.South Western leaders threw their weight behind the war effort. 3.The Midwest became solidly pro-Federal. |
For anyone who cares to read down here... The player has diabetes...the diabetes has reduced feeling in the legs....that is why he did not notice it when the rat bit him Info...how diabetes affects the feet... Hmm...Bob oxley FAKE NEWS Claims of weaponized cancer infection are part of a broader, long-running discussion about “targeted assassinations” by intelligence agents in the United States and elsewhere. Most prominently, some adherents claimed that the CIA was responsible for the cancer which claimed the life of Venezuelan leader Hugo Chávez, in 2013.Fake news. https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/bob-marley-cia/ Don't beleive everything on the internet. By the way....I no dey work for CIA. |
Wise wise words. Good for sugar addicts like me. Heard, and received with gratitude |
4601CE:OK....enjoy your corruption. Both parties have failed us. PDP spent 16 years looting, APC spent 3 years looting...and none of them don;t know anything about running an economy properly. We keep on having fuel scarcity because both parties think that they should be setting prices for businessmen selling fuel.... If you were a businessman., you won't like it if government told you to sell your product at a low price, and give you chicken feed as profit....which is what is happening in the downstream sector. How are our universities....they keep on establishing more of them, without thinking of funding the exisiting ones adequately. And who let Boko Haram and the Fulani crisis get out of hand? How about a plan to get us off our oil dependency? Power nko? yES.....I talk nonsesne because I won't vote for one party that awarded 250million dollars for 4 cars, or the other that awarded 200million for grass cutting.... Please grow up. And don't complain about bad governance when you keep on voting the same set of thieves into office. Just don't. Nigerians! |
I was named after an actor called Yul Brynner. For those that don't know...Yul Brynner was one of the great Hollywood actors of the 1950's and 60's....appeared in films like 'The ten Commandments', the King and I and Westworld. Died in 1985 due to lung cancer. His last TV appearance was in a small TV ad advising people not to smoke cigarettes...as his chain smoking led to his lung cancer... Known for his awesome bald head. Originally from Russia. Personal favourite of mine. Always thought he was very masterful... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yul_Brynner |
Baawaa:Rigght......so we should go back to PDP or APC.....Egypt or Egypt lite. Wake up son. |
One more reason why I cannot vote for either PDP or APC... Corrupt politicans hopping from one corrupt zone to another. Sigh. |
BuhariM:Yes...like the Japanese...who remove their shoes before entering any building..... |
Nbote:I am merely speculating....investigations need to be done, of course. |
joyfullyjoyous:It is possible she got lost, and a good Samaritan took her there. |
SAY NO TO TRIBALISIM. The man is a Nigerian.Period. |
Ultimately,.....I blame the girl herself. Her parents tried for her, brought her up well, and she chose to do her own thing. A human rights activist comes to her aid, when all others have turned away.....and she throws it in his face. Don't worry, when Karma catches up with her....that is the time she will know, that the child that says him papa no go sleep, im sef too no go sleep. |
It is the law....the surety takes the place of the accused if the accused absconds. |
OneCorner:If you are an Igbo guy, don't let this discourage you.Forevery Igbocriminal, there are millions of Igbo who are on the rigth side of the law. If you are not Igbo, crime exisits in every tribe. There is noone innocent. |
Earthbound:Very true. Our children MUST be on the alert. |
Does not make anything better. The truth is,we need oilat $139 per barrelat least.....to balance the books. Which is why it is sad that the government does not have a plan to get us off oil...other than 'diversificaiton' In my honest opinion, we need to 1.Remove subsides 2.Take a loan to improve power,to be paid in part by raised electricity bills (Ghana has light 24/7...and they pay far more for their light)> 3.Makeour foreign exchange rate system work for our manufacturing sector.Allow them to import vital components/ingridentis at a favourable rate.... 4.Fight corruption. Oil is no longer a sure banker. Time to wake up. |
1. The son is a thief. 2.IN my opinion, the problem goes way beyond the stealing of money. That is why when someone gets married....be careful, and work on the marriage even after 10 years together.... |
IamaNigerianGuy:I read your post. You said that taxes are being used to fund lavish lifestyle of politicians...and you said we should stop paying taxes because of that. Yes...and in this time when oil is below what we need it to balance our budget.....what does that mean.,? We take loans...or salaries won't be paid, projects won't be done, bills won't be paid. Thing is, we are a democracy. That ,means if Mr Politician is chopping your money....VOTE HIM OUT. |
Anyone saying that Abia state is being hard on its people, does not know what has been happening since 2014 1.Oil prices have been falling since 2014 when it was at $130 in June of that year. By May 2015 it was $75. By January it was $30 per barrel. Now it is $70. 2.As a result, Government at all levels has to resort to a) Borrowing b) Raising taxes c) Plugging leakanges 3.Most of this year's budget was funded by high taxes. Oil is no longer reliable. |
IamaNigerianGuy:Shey you know that if there is no taxes collected, there is no money for things like salaries, projects, etc. Shey you also know that anytime we try to prosecute the same corrupt politicians, people like you will come and defend them to the end? Democracy is hard work |
Mgbadike80:Nigeria needs oil to be at $140 to balance the budget. (That is why even GEJ was taking loans when oil was at $100 per barrel). So, either we pay high taxes to balance the budget, or we start going without salaries for years.....while we beg IMF up and down for loans. Oil under Buhari has been below $75 and as low as $30 at one time. Anyone could see that taxes were going to go up. Pay your tax. |
Liveair:No, the Bible shows that when men disobey God, or when things don't go according to plan, God does have a plan to make things better in the midst of this sin affected world. |
Liveair:1. Doesn't mean God approved of it...and as you know...the bible shows that polygamy has a LOT of bad side effects. 2.Then there is this explanation [Note: one of the two main purposes of concubinage (the other being to provide an heir in a barren marriage)--an economically very expensive expedient in the ancient world--was to keep the family from falling below 'critical mass'. The mortality rate was so high ("as many as one in two children did not survive to the age of five" [OT:FAI:19]), and the labor demand was so high, that additional means of renewal (other than just the single-wife of the ideal) were sometimes necessary: · "Those labor requirements in early Israel were especially intense for several reasons: cropping patterns, with their seasonal demands for many hands to do certain sowing or harvesting tasks within a relatively short window of environmental opportunity; sporadic needs for terrace maintenance and land clearing; a constant set of time-consuming daily procedures for tending to livestock, securing water, and transforming food products to comestibles. The number of persons needed for the family, as the primary, self-sufficient economic unit, to perform the myriad tasks in a regime with critical labor-intensive periods was greater than a nuclear family could supply. Extended or compound families were essential for survival." [OT:FAI, 18] · "Concubines are women without dowry who include among their duties providing children to the family. Childbearing was an important function in the ancient world, where survival of the family, and often survival at all, was tenuous at best. " [BBC, at Gen 35.21ff] · " A concubine was a true wife, though of secondary rank. This is indicated, for example, by the references to a concubine’s “husband” (Jud 19:3), the “father-in-law” (Jud 19:4), “son-in-law” (Jud 19:5). Thus, the concubine was not a kept mistress, and did not cohabit with a man unless married to him. The institution itself is an offshoot of polygamy." [TWOT, s.v. concubine/pilgsh] Sauce Just keep that in mind. |
