Yes and if possible let her comment on here.

MRbrownJAY:
come on man
Sexyleamon has been posting the most jokes on NL, go to the joke threads to confirm that. her sense of humour might not be to the likings of everyone out here but we can clearly understand that it was meant as such.(maybe her only crime is to have posted it on Romance instead of the Joke thread.)
i am not offended a bit by her post because i am no dog and dont know any but also because i can see the humour in it and can find some similar comparison with females.
Yeah right! Whatever, I don't care. I know how many insults they will have hurled at a man if he was to post the that as against women. Check out that thread where a guy said stuff about Nairaland girls being idle and looking for guys to hook up with; the guy meant it as a joke but you need to see how they(girls) hurled insults at him . . . . I didd speak against it myself. If anything, she should have enough gumption to post this in the JOKE section. I don't feel like a dog but I'm offended at comparing a man to a dog. And oh, just one more thought, what is she? A b***tch(female dog). I guess she should find that funny too, if she finds it offensive, this thread should be closed down!

Kobojunkie:
I don’t understand this feeling that the world OWES us. Worse, I cannot for the life of me, understand how anyone can believe that apply in this day and age. The world has given OVER $1.5 Trillion dollars( number as of July 2005) in AID to Africa in the last 40 years alone. How can Africa, still UNGRATEFUL, continue to ask for reparation in this time and day when we have yet to show that the FREE OFFERS we have gotten in the past made any difference?

We have had numerous opportunities to turn our situation around yet, we remain ground zero for some of the world’s most despicable and disgusting situations.
That is it. Let's start from Nigeria, one of the things he said was "corrupt port authority official" and can someone honestly tell me that was a lie? No! The problem we have in Nigeria is that we'd rather love to be told bunch of lies than the cold truth. Truth has always known to come cold and harsh and you've got to take it as it comes and act on it. Nigerian leaders will turn deaf ears to that speech because they are what he described. Again, what advantage did Nigeria make from the debt that was forgiven by the Paris Club? On top of that what happened, Yara'nonsense went for another loan somewhere else. What are they doing with these funds? Looting! It's a shame that within a short term from now, Ghana will be regarded by the rest of the world as the true giant of Africa. Someone said earlier that Egypt and Saudi Arabia aren't democratic, but are these countries as corrupt as Sub-Saharan African countries? No! Ghana, in all honesty, is the only country that has experienced peace since the transition of power in 1992. Truth be told, Nigeria is fast sliding into decadence and worst of all is no one will come to confront the leader --- all of them are corrupt and bought over; Obama went ahead and spoke about bribery and corruption, doesn't Nigeria fall in that category, ranging from Police to Politicians, Student to Teachers etc. Nigeria is a sad image of Africa, we should cede the position of the Giant of Africa to Ghana.

Bota:
Truth is even if they pay reparation, none of us will see a dime, the people that will chop and yank it off to offshore accounts are waiting (pls excuse my cynicism). Finally, a US President that can look straight into our eyes and say STOP BEING VICTIMS. A great wrong was done, everyone acknowledges that but  the people that deserve the reparation are not even here, they are the ones that were taken away, not the ones left behind.
Shell paid some money in form of reparation to Ken Saro Wiwa's son, does anyone know how that money is expended? I guess not. This is a civilized world where every country is doing everything they can to improve their standard of living and what has the Nigerian government been successful at doing? Looting billions of Naira daily! And Africans, in spite of this, want them to be paid reparation especially Nigerians? Nigerian Government will do nothing to share the money and that is the last we will hear of it. As for the ones who needs reparation, you're right, they aren't here no more but their offsprings are the famous "African American". So they are already enjoying the dividends and one of them is OBAMA! What more reparation do we want? Free money from US? Lazy ass lawyer looking for recognition!

MrBrownJay, I will have to disagree on this one. How could this be a joke? This is insulting. I don't know if I should insult or her just ignore but I am very sure she was SICK when she posted this. I don't blame some guy who posted the other day that Nairaland girls are jobless and idlers. This just a perfect sample of them

Nigerian nurses are no better than policewomen. In my belief, they're the worst, followed by bankers.
Nurses and bankers are very well popularly known in Nigeria to sleep with their bosses and colleagues.
Politics › Re: Falana Slams Obama Over Speech In Ghana. by TheSeeker(m): 3:10pm On Jul 15, 2009
Arrant nonsense. Falana is just seeking international recognition. As far as I know, the most respected man in Nigeria, in my opinion, is Wole Soyinka and you all need to hear his view on the visit. It's people like Femi Falana that always let the truth slide away in lieu of lies, all for what? Dignity? And can anyone tell me what dignity Nigeria has left? Some people purported the speech was against Nigeria and I ask myself "what if it is?". Africa need to start looking in a positive direction and work on their own problems rather than blaming it on Foreign leaders. India is fast developing than Nigeria, weren't we both colonized by Britain? Are they giving excuses for their failures? Today, India is one of the most recognized country when it comes to Human Medicine. What has Nigeria got to show? Stolen funds, Pipeline vandalization and a bunch of clueless, non-occupational leaders. Imagine a situation where you ask a governor what he's occupation is, he'd say "I'm a Governor" Hell, that's an occupation to be proud of, but Nigerian governors are nothing but cheap and derailed animals.

Falana should shut up and concentrate more on helping the desirable people who want to "clean" the country instead of making unnecessary comment to attract international recognition

Romance › Re: WOULD A NURSE BE A GOOD HOUSEWIFE? by TheSeeker(m): 2:14pm On Jul 15, 2009
Uniform women really depends on which category or country. I will use Policewomen from USA and Nigeria as an example.
The policewomen from the States love their husbands more, they are always very protective of them and alongside that, they make sure their spouses stay off trouble by checking out everything they do -- simply because they believe any misbehavior from their spouse will paint them in a very bad color. They rarely sleep with their boss.

Policewomen in Nigeria are the total opposite. As at the time of the marriage, they seem all good and everything but they don't really care if you towing the unlawful line or not; they are always of the belief that they don't have to be even with you, they always have to have an edge. It's very nauseating. Another dimension to the topic is, they sleep with their boss very much for so many reason ranging from favoritism to promotion. Some of them have respect for their husband, but that's very few. They at the back of their mind, believe they are the most custodian of the law better yet believe that their husbands can always make them their first and last resort when they run into trouble.

I do not, from my experience with Nigeria Police, believe that "Police is your friend". Let your relationship with them run into a hitch and you'll see that their character is as good and appealing as their uniform.

This is fast becoming an interesting opera. Well, I do not have much to say, as much as I would have loved to pity on Angel, she's beginning to upset my patient personality. How could she have, in the whole wide world, think pregnacy keeping will tie Puffy down? And her mom is a lawyer? Doesn't her mom know this might not work? I'm again, at this point, questioning her mom's gumption. From the beginning of this scandal, I thought she(her mom) knew about this and shouldn't she have advised her not to threaten Puffy with such?

OK! I'm not a big fan of abortion, but didn't she know having this baby will not only soil her reputation but put her future relationship with her child in jeopardy? What is she planning on telling the baby? That she fell in a crush and made her way through to his dad and she tried trapping him with his pregnancy then? Or is she planning on lying to him? My advice is she gets to see a good doctor and have an abortion -- I'm not scared for Puffy because I do believe he's capable of paying child support if ever it comes to that. Someone should tell her to wake up from her dreams, because she's keeping that baby for the very and the most immoral motive; if, after everything, she's bent on keeping the baby let her have the baby and Puffy pays for the child support.

As for Angel showing off her ignorant "right" to block Puffy off from dating Laura, it's the most ludicrous comment ever. She, as much as anyone else, has no right to tell Puffy who to or not date. It's immaterial if she's her friend or whatever, the fact is they are all adults and should do anything they want to do. . . . . . . I still reiterate that I'm not against his decision to date Laura, but I detest the time span between his relationship with Angel and his sudden crush on Laura.

sistawoman:
Just one more thought:

She may just be emulating what she sees her mom do to her dad.

I have seen many a Nigerian woman disrespect their husbands on US soil in ways I would never dream of doing all because they know here their husbands cant just smack them and get away with it.

But stand your ground and let her know now that you will not stick around for such treatment.

If you let her get away with disrespecting you now it will only get worse.
Now, that's my favorite woman on NL. You can see what I meant when I say some Nigerian women mess around with their men because they feel they have an edge against them, especially the ones who happen to find themselves there when they were older.

I am still of the opinion that he shouldn't have highlighted the AMERICAN PASSPORT as the center of gravity for this thread. It'd have been something else then if he's so convinced she's changed because of her national status, he could just chip it in somewhere. The hype about American Passport is so overrated.

whats his affection to laura called? lust? infatuation? likeness? whats the basis of this affection and attraction? did I in any way insinuate he had sex with anyone?
what do u understand by sexual immorality? is the shameless lust for laura, considering her rel with angel, not immoral?

please stop embarrassing urself.
Firstly, be matured on here and stop these abusive languages -- this is a forum and don't insult and if that's how you choose to roll let me know. You need to understand that he was talked into dating Angel; it was never in his intentions to do that and can you honestly tell me and NL that your friends have never talked you into anything that you clearly objected to at first? It's a normal reaction if you ask me. He played all along and when he found someone else he jumped on her wagon, unfortunately, Angel's friend. It doesn't matter where he met her or who she is the most important thing here are the hearts involved -- one definitely has to ache. That she decided to date Laura doesn't justify it as sexual immorality because that is who he has feelings for now. In my opinion and most dictionaries, sexual immorality means "the evil ascribed to sexual acts that violate social conventions". Now tell me where the sexual acts lie? You need to be updated with your English terminologies and stop confusing lust with sexual immorality. Examples of sexual immoralities are a condition where a guy sleeps with his sister, his brother's wife or any other person that is family, a situation where a guy and a girl start to have sex in the church, in the bus or somewhat close to the public and lots more. Be spot on bro and stop all the cussing, it diminishes your intelligence because that's all you'll ever think about.

as sisterwoman kindle pointed out, there are two sides of the story. I wasn't going to speak on this but I was in the same situation 2 weeks ago. any small thing he would throw a hissy fit and say im insulting him when if I told anybody the same thing they wouldn't be offended. my dear she is stressed out, take it from me and to me u show aloofness because she is AM citizen. are u trying to prove that u don't need a green card or that u love her?

sisterwoman do ur magic, and dig deep.
i'll be observing. . .
touchmeder:
that could be a very good reason too, to suddenly burst out and not even realize your being insultive or less patient. the nursing profession is a very demanding one but to consistently act that way should raise alarm bells for any sane person. i am of the opinion that since poster said she was never like this, she can work her way out of the mess too. its a concious thing. i had to do some corrections like this myself after my bf complained that i was no longer patient with him and lashed out too fast.
I have to ride along with y'all on this one. For a relationship of 2 years, it's rather absurd that she starts to insult just 2 months ago -- there's more to it that he has to find out. I have to say also that the way he presented the thread borders in between him wanting a US citizenship and her discovering that's what he wants and taking that as an advantage to lash out on him;which differs from his intention of this thread. If he talks to her I'm sure it's stress-related. Maybe she's been going through a lot of mess, might be anything, a loan, some debt, anything that's stressful. I advise he talks to her and find out what is going on. I wanted to find the guy's intentions questionable but it seems he's serious about her and she is stressing about other things but the issue of AM passport is definitely out of the question. Communication works magic in any relationship -- you can never quantify its effectiveness.
