RichyBlacK:Nigeria's hopelessness is worsened with the fact that when the truth's told, some people don't want to see the positive side to it and make amends, they'd rather capitalize on the negative effects -- I don't see any negative effects of Obama's visit to Ghana. But Soyinka, is about the most honored man of unmatched integrity Nigeria has ever produced, to buttress that he was the only one CNN interviewed. |
4th nomenclature : A guy loves a girl ; she doesn't love her but pretends to. |

I've always thought all along the guy is fake along with Chris Oyakhilome. |
Nonsense! Spend 450K on a wedding when you don't have enough dough in your bank account? Why don't you just go to the registry with two witnesses each, call some important members of both family together and have a blessed marriage? What's the essence of all the ceremonies and money wasting? What difference does it make if you get married quietly or flamboyantly? Women won't seize to push men to spend money that's too much for their bank account to handle and why? Because men succumb to their selfish frivolities. If I have to spend 1.5 million on a wedding, why don't I just buy myself a new car of 1 million after a very quiet wedding? Won't that be some pride enough? Rubbish! I don't believe in white wedding anyways, Let's go to the registry and get married there with some important members of your family and mine. I'd rather use the money for something more lucrative |
This is for real so I thought I'd throw it in the air for opinions and suggestions. There's this guy who meets this young lady, been friends with her for some time and later finds out she's pregnant. The lady claimed she doesn't know the whereabouts of whoever was responsible for her pregnancy. She started a relationship with this new guy after he made it clear to her he didn't mind she was pregnant; he promised right there he's going to take care of her and the pregnancy even though he's not the father. She has a friend, supposedly her best friend who lives not too distant from her; they see each other almost every other day and are very close. A year ago, she was on a business trip. While she was away, her husband went to see her best friend and somehow they had sex --- the result which was the pregnancy the new guy had admitted to take responsibility for based on what he was told that she didn't know the whereabouts of the guy responsible. All those times she was pregnant, her best friend's husband will come to the house and visit with them, the guy not knowing he was responsible for the pregnancy, took him as a friend of the family and treated him as such. He got married eventually to her after she had the baby. A few months later, he finds out that the baby was her best friend's husband's --- She confessed to that fact. If you were in this boat, what'd you do? |

You say you're a home girl? I don't think so. First of all, he said he wants to sell it for $25, that was meant to make you unsuspicious and then seeing you didn't raise any concerns, he lowered it to $15. At that bar, I was thinking maybe he's a drug addict who needs some money by all means necessary to buy his item, but then he goes on to tell you he'll give it to you free including a VCR. What I want to ask is, why can't you just buy from another person? To me, white Americans are the greediest people I've ever come across. Since you already had money to buy your printer why don't you just do that and save your self the drama? More so, murder committed on Fridays are rampant . Ok, he told you he has a fiance; that was to make you think he's a responsible and neither after having you as his date or your life. Open your eyes, refrain from all kinds of contact with him and buy from someone else. What's it with you girls and free stuffs anyway? |
So what? What official trip is he on to Italy? Isn't it to stash out the money he stole too? |
What flavor of ice cream did you buy her? Maybe she loves Vanilla and you got her strawberry . Listen, you're both immature. When I was your 15, I had older female friends who I learnt how to treat a woman from and along with some big bros too. By the time I was 18, I dated girls in their 19's and 20's and never had any tough complaints from any of them. Listen to yourself, you went to buy her ice cream, got to her place's junction, called her; she says she's having her bath which took her an hour before she could come out to see you -- you got angry hopped on a bike, got home sent her a message expressing your anger and suddenly she accused you of not being there for her? If you were to be there for her, how? You can't even get to her house and to me it doesn't sound like you can take her out or she'd have gone with you for the ice cream. And next time boy, you don't go out and buy ice cream for a girlfriend --- doesn't sound romantic; you have to go along with her, sit in cozy place probably under a tree where you'll have a beautiful view in front of you and sit tight and close into each other while you feed her the ice cream using your, her spoon and your mouth. She's not matured as much as you're not as well; so clashes like this should be expected. Talk to your big bros and understand the psyche that revolves around women |
Obasanjo said the same thing too. |
saintauch:He said he's his best friend, there's no way he can possibly keep that away from him.
@ poster thts a lil bit critical, no friend is gonna allow his BF to date him sista especially if u a bad type,u knw wut i mean even if u not, guys dnt take it lightly when oda male homie is kinda gettin close to their sis, Also goes to me--i can neva allow any of ma dogs to date ma sis, cuz i knw ma cliques, ma advice --if u truely lurr dis lil gurl, da best thang is to keep it secret in order nt to jeopardize yo friendship wit him, Best of luck homie
Like I said, he can't keep the relationship from him and for his friend to find out later will do more than ruin their friendship. I don't agree that no guy will allow his friend to date his sister, especially if he's his best friend. I know lots of guys who allowed their friends marry their sisters and no big deal was made out of it. |
MRbrownJAY:Seconded. @Poster Doesn't it seem a little too fast to talk to his parents about you? When you say he never told his parents about you, what do you actually imply he tells them? Have you talked marriage? Has he met your parents? |
Soyinka has always been anti government so whats surprising there. That has always been his handle. Wasnt he the one who hijacked a radio station in the sixties?
And what kind of Nigerian government has he been antagonizing? |
kunmibola:You haven't given any response to my earlier question which is, what reasons did she lay on the table for her previous actions? This has to be answered. About the emboldened part, what makes you think she has feelings for you in the first place? You also said she apologized and later cussed you out? Did she use any kind of foul language on you? As well, you said earlier you can't recall giving her any amount of money that mattered, what amount of money doesn't matter and how much are we talking about here? Are you being totally honest or do you just want us to defend your actions? What actions of yours do you need justifications for? |
obiem:Let me start from the emboldened part. Mubarak may have been in power for as long as anyone can remember, but did he retain power by the famous PDP's "do or die" type of democracy? Saudi Arabia may not practise democracy but who has heard noises of corruption from there? I haven't. His refusal to visit Nigeria has more to it? Then what do you say about his refusal to step foot in Kenya? Let's be realistic and call a spade a spade. The main objective is to combat and debunk level of corruption in Africa, and which of these things he mentioned doesn't apply to Nigeria? Soyinka, to everyone, is more intelligent than the bought-over Femi Falana. Why should he see it from his point of view when he's foolish to ignore the obvious? Kobojunkie:PDP are the ruling part and are littered all over the country, so why should we shove the blame the way of the political parties that aren't even any powerful position? Who controls INEC? Who controls all the Ministries? Who controls the Senate and House of Reps? Who appoints all the leaders of the important segments of this country, NNPC, CBN and co? Please let's be realistic here, PDP is a failed political party. |
confrenzy:And how did the golden rule affect this? Date a friend to your ex becoming, all of sudden, a golden rule? No be only golden rule na diamond rule |
Blood is thicker than water. The guy, even though has an American citizenship, is Nigerian by blood. Blood's thicker than a 32-paged blue passport ![]() |
@Mitchelin, Have enjoyed your posts but I must say you got this one wrong. Only a girl who doesn't know what she's doing or where she's heading to will fall for such pranks. Also, you could have added that working guys should beware of materialistic undergrads. I understand your point but maybe you missed a few facts. All those things you mentioned are perpetrated by materialistic girls a.k.a. Aristo girls. They are also the set of girls who sleep with lecturers just so they can pass their examinations and get good grades. |
Wole Soyinka has never been a disappointment since I grew up to know him. The most upright Nigerian I have ever known, the only person we can be proud of. I wish we can ever have a national leader like that. He speaks the truth and stands by it. I second his motion that, if he were to come and visit the insurgents from the Niger Delta, trade unions, the other political parties etc., Nigeria will have been his first spot to visit. |
Kobojunkie:Who would have stoned him? Ghanaians or Nigerians? We are forgetting that Nigeria don't matter anymore in Africa in all senses from politics to sports. |
vigasimple:Yes, you can imagine with Yoruba producing only Obasanjo, of all people, as leader. Adedibu came next to him but now I wonder who's next? Bisi Akande has been shut out by OBJ, so what impact can South-West make on national leadership? Nothing! South-East on the other end aren't coagulated. They don't have any specific nomination; everyone wants to be President. But a little reality check here, who's the leader from the SE -- Ojukwu, Kalu, Ekwueme or who? So pitiful. |
I've met 5 girls so far off the internet and they were just so beautiful. I can't quantify how beautiful they are but they are so dazzling. |
I'm going Michael Jackson's "speechless" with the kind of posters we have these days. |
Be sure if you are able to discern your feelings for her. It'll hurt the relationship with your best friend if it turns out to be a sham after all, and will be a lot worse if she's his favorite sister. You have to check out you're on the right track before you go for it. |
