christemmbassey: I tot u claimed urs was a rerearch on our language, how come u can't tell which language it is? Bros accept ur wiki copy n paste stop decieving urself, u did no term paper, talkless of a research. Frathermathy is a liar. I dare him to mention the names of the UniUyo scholars he supposedly consulted. I wouldn't mind arranging appointments with these supposed scholars.
Even Prof. Edet Okon Uya, prejudiced as he was, wouldn't put up with this. |

fratermathy: I've learnt my lessons sir. Some people do not appreciate their ethnicity being documented by anyone other than themselves and yet they haven't done so until this moment.
Once again, thanks for being a rational fellow. You mean your copy-and-paste half-truths from redundant website is a documentation of our history? Who are you to document our history when we've already done so?
The europeans first made contact with us before you in the hinterland. Heck! We've had our history documented CENTURIES ago while you lots are still confused and linking yourselves delusionally to ISRAEL.
Post links to the earliest documentation of your people let's see who should document who.
Such irking, blatant display of arrogant pseudo-intelligence! |

That's not hate. It's ignorance. Two very different things. I'd rather not whip the sick horse. IGBOS ANTAGONIZE THEMSELVES A LOT.
It wouldn't serve our common political goal(s) to push the issue but know this, missy: Igbos antagonize themselves. I can list countless examples to lay credence to my claim(s).
Just to prove to you how relatively united Akwaibomites are, here's an example:
The ministerial nominee for Akwaibom State (Udo Udoma) is an IBIBIO MAN but he was endorsed by all ethnic groups in the state.
Contrarily, every ministerial nominee from IGBOS STATES are being antagonized by sub-ethnic groups in each IGBO STATE.
NEED I GO ON?!
Your "IGBOS ARE UNITED" mantra doesn't stand.

somegirl1: Get a grip He's Urhobo, not Igbo And for the record, Igbos don't hate themselves. Oh please! You can't deceive me!
Go to Aba. Once an Abakiliki man is sighted, snide remarks are directed at him. They jeer at him.
An Enugu man refers to Ebonyi people as "barbarians" and prefers to starve than eat with them because he considers them dirty and they COOK WITH HOUSE RATS.
I dare any Igbo man to deny this! |

fratermathy: I am not writing your history. If you want to document your people, I am not tieing you or I'm I? I'm concerned with language and language alone. You guys can keep your myriads of ethnicities and tribalism to yourself. Aha! I knew with a little push I'd elucidate that suppressed prejudice.
We Akwaibomites recognize our differences which in itself breeds relative respect.
You want to insult Akwaibomites?
Hinting about respect: Why do the people of Enugu and Anambra discriminate against Abakilikis? Why are the Mbaise people treated with disdain? Why are Ngwa people always ridiculed?
Need I go on? You Igbos HATE YOURSELVES! |

fratermathy: Then the term I used should be faulted. What I hate is people insulting my person. I never expected it from you people at all, I swear.
Things can be said as calmly as this. No research is perfect, I agree but fault the work, not the worker.
Secondly, we are on the same page. Most scholars call Akwacross Efik/Ibibio. I used Ibibio as an umbrella term because of population. It is the place of an AKWAIBOMITE to create a thread about AKWAIBOM ETHNIC GROUPS. Now you are being schooled.
You are as guilty as the imperial europeans - trying to rewrite our history. |
Culture › Re: The Dialects Of Ibibio And Where They Are Spoken by TheSonOfMark(m): 9:09pm On Nov 02, 2015 |
fratermathy: I talked to people and read books. I talked to scholars on Ibibio /Efik studies at the University of Uyo. They all agree that Efik/Ibibio are members of the Akwacross linguistic cluster of which Ibibio is the proto language. If you truly conversed with scholars in the University of Uyo, you would have been told that the Orons are linguistically distinct. Ibibios, Efiks and Annangs do not understand Oron Language. |

Sweetlemon: The creator of this thread is def NOT from Akwa-Ibom/Cross river.
I just hate the way false knowledge is being spread about on this forum. That was how someone said that there are Igbo tribes in Akwa/Cross and the dumb thread made FP. I was like WTF! There are no Igbo tribes in Akwaibom State. There are seemingly Igboid communities bothering Ika and Etim Ekpo L.G.As of Akwaibom but there are never-ending boundary wars which are still being deliberated in court. NO PART OF AKWAIBOM STATE SPEAKS IGBO. |

fratermathy: I am very surprised seeing this. I've always thought these people are the most non-tribalistic lot in Nigeria until I created this thread. I am so amazed that some people are here causing unneccesary tensions. If I haven't stayed and seen these people myself, I would have judged most of them hastily based on this thread.
So, I will crave your indulgence to ignore the few bringing down their people and spoiling their image here. Ibibios and Efiks are GOOD people and even though some have attacked and insulted me on this thread here, I still love them and would still say they are the least-tribalistic lot in the Niger-Delta. I hope the divergent few can change their ways. Ibibios, Efiks and, to a large extent, Annangs get along fairly well. Yes, we Ibibios have some cast-in-cement stereotypes about the Annangs but they are harmless.
The troubleshooters? The Orons. They have this siege mentality. They always compare themselves to the Ibibios.
Here's to put things in perspective: There are are 31 L.G.As in Akwaibom State.
18 LGAs are peopled by Ibibios.
8 LGAs are Annangland.
5 LGAs are Oro Nation.
It's only normal that Ibibios have dominated the affairs in the state. What's more? Ibibioland produces oil and Ibibios are the most educated!
I really didn't want to jump into this fray but I had to.

iamkingzlee: Etim Ekpo has vast farmland and palm oil.. I think, they all have thier selling point! By default, every L.G.A in Akwaibom State has vast oil palm plantations. In terms of crude oil, only Eket Senatorial District produces it. This isn't an attempt at downgrading the inputs of other Senatorial District but stating a fact. My L.G.A produces crude oil and there's never been a time we threatened secession like the Orons do. |

Coach8: Oron is not as rich as Sowell28 would like to believe, the richest towns in AKS in terms of oil would be Ibeno and then maybe Eket. Until now, I never realised the Oron people wanted to not be classified as AKS. The truth is that only Eket Senatorial District (which comprises of the 'Ibibiod' groups and Oro groups) produces all the oil in Akwaibom State. Annangland produces nothing. |

If I am married/dating and she's also married/dating then , theoretically, our emotional and sexual needs are being satisfied by our partners which are essentially the reasons why people date.
It's quasi-impossible to be just friends with a woman if she and/or you are not already dating others.
