Kilishihunter:Whose blood? Surely gonna be Bilbaos hombre |
See beta goal from the GOAT Doesn't he just love scoring solo golazos against Bilbao in finals ![]() |
TheHulk616:Better smash your TV/laptop now, seeing that you've already turned greeeen with anger Hope your boxers sef never tear |
Magical play from De Jong. All the park bus gra gra Bilbao was doing, they will come out now, leaving more spaces behind for Barca to attack. |
Goal Grizzy. Much better from the team. We are taking home the first trophy in Spain this season. |
What I am seeing on display here tonight is not even Tiki-taka. At least, Tiki-taka involved some mesmerizing passing interchange in the midfield. But our play this night has been rather aimless passing which has been laborious and painful to watch. I don't know how to say it, but our current system of play limits the number of key scoring chances we can have. It takes too long for the team to create a dangerous moment. It's a system that is heavily reliant on Messi creating moments of magic to flourish. The thing is you cannot realistically be expecting moments of magic in every game before you can even have decent chances! I hope the Madrid defeat has not also affected our player's confidence. We need that to be at a high level during this run-in. Regardless, Barca will win in the end. |
babatee90:I didn't say he was in the 5-1 match, read my post well. I said "just before and after Ronaldo" to support Barca's recent dominance over RM with or without Ronaldo. And I'm not the person you originally quoted, so you can keep your 10K. Just wanted to clarify the other poster's comment. |
babatee90:Not 5-0 twice, but still really disgraceful defeats when CR was there: 5-0 at Camp Nou 2010/2011 season 4-0 at Bernebeu 2015/2016 season 3-0 at Bernebeu 2017/2018 season Then just before and after Ronaldo, Barca won: 6-2 at Bernebeu 2008/2009 season 5-1 at Camp Nou 2018/2019 season Safe to say it's been Barca that has been whopping Madrid's bum over the past 13 years. The times Madrid beat Barca, it's with no more than a respectable 2-goal margin at its worst. |
homesteady:Not sure if I really want him to play cos Pique struggles against pacy players. Vinicius messed him up last season at the Bernabeu. I just hope he has learnt his lessons. It's crucial for our players to overcome the mental block against RM built up due to our current 3-game winless run against them. Only then can we take our chances confidently against them. |
pu7pl3:Hogwarts ke? His comment smells more like Edo Airways ![]() |
ClintonNzedimma:Thanks bro. |
ddippset:Of course he wouldn't do that (@in bold) cos it won't fit their agenda. Their insecurities no be here at all. They don't mind using any player, even Iheanacho, to spite Messi. He should have even said Mbappe is better than Ronaldo De Lima @ 22 simply because he has won world cup (actively) and has more UCL knockout goals than De lima at same age. See id*otic reasoning. If football were judged solely by stats, there's no need for Ballon D'or committee again na. Is just to award the trophy to statpadders every year na. |
CrisRay:Seriously, this is just pathetic. What's with the new trend of you CR fanboys pitting up Mbappe against Messi in the best player debate. Why don't you compare him to Ronaldo at that same age? You guys are simply implying that your darling CR is not even worthy of the best player conversation, seeing as you are vicariously hating on Messi through Mbappe. Now to the facts. At 22, Messi was undisputably the world's best player by a mile. He was already on his way to winning his second Ballon D'or and had also come second twice in the Ballon D'or votes previously. He had more UCL knock-out goals than Mbappe. Messi was not even only about scoring like Mbappe mostly is, but was a dribbling wizard, who made a mockery of defences and who scored way more breathtaking goals than Mbappe did. Are you telling me that if you had a choice to pick a player for your team between Messi of 2008 - early 2010 and Mbappe of now, you'd go for Mbappe? Mbappe that has never been nominated for Ballon D'or when he has the likes of poacher Lewandoski, Old Messi and Old CR to contest against while Messi at similar age had prime Kaka and Cristiano to contend with. Mbappe that has not even reached the level of prime Salah of 2017 and 2018 that took Liverpool to the UCL final twice during the same period and won it on one occasion, is what you are saying is better than fearsome Messi Even in the twitter link you posted, did you not see the hundreds of comments that soundly destroyed the Ronaldo fan that made the claim initially?FYI, I will even take 2006-2008 Cristiano over current Mbappe. Once you deny Mbappe space it's done for him. Do you think it's a coincidence that 6 out of his 8 goals this season has come only against Barca and Bayern Munich, 2 teams that play a high line leaving plenty space at the back? Why have they been substituting him in France's recent games against tighter teams and leaving Greizmann who thrives better in the team since last year? Mbappe is an outstanding player and may even get better. But as of now, to compare him with Messi who at same age was already a demon that opposing teams trembled against is sacrilege. Cules please don't mind my epistle. D guy dey vex me seriously. |
I don't know if this is true cos it's yet to trend on Twitter strangely at the time I am typing this. If true, this is one of the few times Nairaland will be ahead of twitter in breaking news. This is a sub for the "Nairaland is so stale" crew e.g Meobizy RIP DMX. Though I never really caught on to him (except for ruff ryders anthem), but he was one of the pioneers of the rap industry. No more road to cross for DMX. Modified: It's trending on twitter now, so it's true. Big thumbs up to Nairaland. |
![]() That's going to become a meme right there. Like Geddifok! Time-wasting can be extremely annoying. Even when done by any team I support, I usually feel the opponent's frustration.
|
obonujoker:Lol, Bolt is a renowned Man Utd and Ronaldo fan just like yourself. He has said it many times even in this report. So I'll pass on this one cos it's a waste of mental energy. |
ddippset:Fair enough points. I am aligned with you on RM not getting past the semi-final. In my heart of hearts, I want a Liverpool comeback. On a different note, looks like there are lots of coded Madridistas on this thread. Comments supporting Madrid are having way more likes than Cules' comments on this thread since yesterday. How can?? |
grammarnazi12:Lol, you mean like the Bela Guttmann curse on Benfica? Abeg make we discover who cursed Barca in UCL o so we can appease on time. I dey suspect that Luis Enrique of a guy ![]() To be candid, a part of me wants Madrid to lose out as per eternal rivals while the other part wants them to go through so as to maintain La Liga's reputation as a top league. So maybe I'd just accept whatever outcome of the second leg in good faith. |
Long ago, I used to also get irritated with peeps speaking with strong local accents. With more exposure, I came to realize that it's all unnecessary and an issue of self-esteem. I saw many Europeans from non-English speaking countries speak English with all their native accents in public without getting ashamed. Mourinho typically pronounces "s" sound as "zzzzz" and calls "p" as "ffff" sometimes. No one looks down on him Arsene Wenger always uses his strong French accent when speaking English. In fact, some other Managers like Antonio Conte regularly even gbagauned in addition to their accent during their public speeches but no one makes any issue of that. It's a lack of understanding when you mock people for having "H" or "L in place of R" factor. Nonetheless, I recognize that it has become sort of a culture in Nigeria to make fun of those. So I would still advise that you still get rid of those factors if you can cos Nigerians generally lack exposure on how things should be. |
Virus99:Lol@big Brother, just remember that we even did a step better by winning 3 - 0 against a more rampaging Liverpool side at home. Wait until after the second leg before you play big brother or Captain La Liga. As it is now, eviction still dey on the cards for you guys ![]() |
Phew! That was close! But Barca showed the stuff of champions in the end after a poor first half. Funny enough, immediately I saw at the start of the match that Vallodolid also adopted a 3-5-2 formation same as Barca, I already had a feeling that the match will be very tough for us and almost like a major upset that those relegation teams cause. Thanks Dembouz, you eventually made amends for your hit and miss performance prior to your goal, cos I was cursing him just a few minutes earlier. |
TLona1:No, I prefer D-Fucking-Embele!! |
Kilishihunter:10 points? Wasn't it even 13points over Barca at some point? It's obvious the ATM team has gassed out and would likely be unable to pull together a string of much needed victories. Only Madrid and Barca can put together a winning streak at this point. Experience and mentality really matter for the long haul. Barca will be taking one step to the trophy if they beat Madrid away, the clincher will be to beat ATM at home. Hope Messi stays fit. |
Looks like R.Madrid is the real rival Barcelona should be worried about for the title and not ATM. |
Virus99:Stop being clever by half, you actually need the English lessons more. Owen won the Ballon D'or in December 2001, meaning that his win is still within the 20 year period you stipulated. 20 years ago was April 2001. From April 2001 till now, there have been 2 EPL Ballon D'or holders which completely invalidates your claim that only Ronaldo won it within that period. Please take your English lessons more seriously. In addition, though Owen might have been the first player to win the Ballon D'or from EPL (since 1991), Aguero, who has never even won EPL player of the year before, is still considered a greater EPL legend than him. Most EPL analysts put Aguero within their top 3 greatest EPL strikers of all time along with Henry and Shearer. |
Virus99:Hello, your emboldened comment is completely false. Michael Owen won the Ballon D'or in 2001, exactly 20 years ago. |
Numerouno94:Noted . Thanks bro. |
Ejemehn:Thanks for the advice and I largely agree with it. However, my differing position on this issue is not unintelligence, seeing as everybody is on the side of the easy and obvious conclusion ( I don't consider that intelligent to be honest). I rather chose to find a probable cause for the referee to have disallowed the goal. Cheers bro. |
Reference:I did not see the other images you talked about. When I watched the highlights again, the image I posted was what was shown on replay. So my submissions are based on that. |
zeusdgrt:Lol. Having a different opinion based on what you observe is never a disgrace even when it's not a popular one. If the ref has apologized, that's all well and good. |
shogsman:I clearly stated that I also thought it was a clear goal initially. But I looked at the replay again and saw it may not be as clear, which is why I backtracked. Haven't you seen goals that we thought the ball had clearly crossed the line and it was eventually disallowed by goal line tech? This is what I saw that made me doubt that the ball had wholly crossed the line. Check the blue straight line and you can see that it could be on the same line as the last goal line. How is then that a certainty that it is not.
|
Karleb:You guys are just being emotional. From the angles shown you can't tell whether the smallest millimeter of the ball is still aligned with the goal line. Only a camera view from the corner kick side will really tell us whether the whole of the ball was over. I stand by my point. |
