Kenya a western Puppet nation with a very loyal Western Puppet president, even more loyal than GEJ. I have asked the same questions myself, a friend of mine pointed out that all the injuries looked the same and none was like gun wounds. Have you noticed you just see blood all over their body without actual wounds ? In many of the pictures released i saw dead bodies lying around outside the mall while police men and people were walking about, i thought it should have been removed if it was really dead and not used as a prop to make the picture look horrible just like in movies. Anyway this observation does not rule out that there may be massacres. |
Ilaje44: There is nothing like an African culture. Africa is a diverse continent where many cultures exist. It should be of great concern to be specific. Even within an ethnic group, we do have nuances of cultural diversity. There are things common to Ilajes that are not found among other Yoruba groups and vice versa. Therefore, the title of the thread is very wrong. It would have been better to have said: African cultures are dying. But then, you have to give more than one example and that spread across the entire continent. The thread talks about African Culture in the sense of the culture of the African nations, it does not prioritize the cultural relations of one distinct group to the other as that is irrelevant rather the emphasis is on our common identity which is Africa hence the African culture. |
mondi_cheeks: check ur dictionary so that u knw the correct definition pleaseThe dictionary cannot inform me of my reality. The reality is what i just told you. |
I posted the actual file above but it is rather inconspicuous. thanks though. |
Nigerians are just fussing for no reason. the reality is that we all know the USA is a huge parasite but let me warn you guys that whenever they are ready to come in, all your Governors, Ministers and President will welcome them against your wishes, you will be ignored, you will only fume and fume and nobody will hear your voice, your newspapers will be reporting some fake good news and progress done by the intervention whereby actually they will be bombing everybody that is against their interest, Christians, Muslims, traditionalist, Niger-Deltans ..anybody!, they will be arming boko haram and funding them and will be bombing you for the atrocities of Boko Haram. Nigerians opinions never matters, Our leaders can be bought and they have zero conscience. |
Trends of Epistemic Oppression and Academic Dependency in Africa’s Development: The Need for a New Intellectual Path by Nathan Andrews andrews5@ualberta.ca Department of Political Science University of Alberta, Canada & Eyene Okpanachi eyene.okpanachi@ualberta.ca Department of Political Science University of Alberta, Canada Abstract A simple dictionary definition of ‘freedom’ shows that it implies the power to think, act, and speak as one deems fit without any hindrance. It also denotes the power of ‘being’ or ‘doing’. When many countries in Africa gained independence in the 1950s and beyond, this notion of freedom was what they all aspired to. And although many countries have been formally detached from their colonial heritage, most of them remain attached to the colonial intellectual roots. We argue that this practice is opposed to the independence and development that African countries have sought for several years, and thus, it kills initiative and renders the efforts towards freedom and sustained development meaningless. Therefore this paper highlights trends of epistemic oppression and academic dependency in some African countries, arguing that African people should think creatively from within and produce knowledge that is more in tune with an African context rather than depending on books, theories, and approaches from elsewhere. The overall claim of the paper is that until Africa gains the substantial ability to think, act and speak for itself through progressive scholarship and writing, ‘true’ intellectual freedom and home-grown development will be unlikely. Keywords: Africa, knowledge, academic dependency, epistemic oppression, development This was published in The Journal of Pan African Studies, vol.5, no.8, December 2012 , i am the sort that firmly believe that all Africans problem can be solved by deep thinking, looking inward and understanding our situation more clearly. This publication addresses a crucial problem in the African society and gives more insight to understanding the nature of that problem. I see the reason to state beforehand that There would be no summary of any sort so don't ask for it. Please don't comment if you have not read the publication. You have all rights to just pass by and make no comments. |
scarred: Guys we don't even need to go that far to understand that western education is propaganda mixed with misdirection wrapped in social engineering. The primary focus of this mix of garbage is to keep your focus firmly fixed upon their 'achievements' whilst at the same time making you feel sorry for your lack of contribution. You are quite right..though i believe it is not too late yet. in fact now is the right time, If Africa can get hold of its resources and unite as Europe and North America is in economic mess we can literally pull them down if we are coordinated. the problem is that as you stated the Black man and especially Nigerians are too confused to make any move in the right direction. |
all4naija: Where are your evidences to first line of your comment than resorting to your conspiracy theory with baseless assertions again? Indeed, I am so much perturbed by conviction your stand to point accusing finger. Your inability to prove beyond reasonable doubt your claims beyond is demanding reliable sources to support this very statement. The coup that brought Murtala Mohammed into power you are trying to accept as legal and justified has not be very well explained in your comment. This is a military leader who's committed crimes against humanity by killing civilians over the Niger river. And, he's a cohort of those who assassinate Johnson Aguiyi Ironsi. You are so sentimental about this matter and sensitizing the situation to make Murtala's death as actually the plan of USA when we know that Nigeria has been going through different faces of coup during that era. Later people will come to say Americans are responsible for the failure of Nigeria when we know that the three major tribes of Nigeria cannot agree on same matter which has a very untold effect on what has happened in the country and what is bedeviling it today.Listen to yourself, you have now changed the topic to Murtala committed war crimes and killed people on the Niger and that to you is why he was assassinated ? You failed! All we know is that you are a paid Mis-Informist. |
mondi_cheeks: what's the meaning of feminism?i think it is an all female Hate party. |
A true revolution in Nigeria is still 10 decades away, what can only happen is that Nigerians will respond to western stimuli and provide the expected result which is to break into smaller pieces still governed by western goons but far more weaker and less of a threat to western interests since they will all hate each other and try to destroy each other instead of building together. I have come across many instances where someone is called a Socialist as a form of insult, maybe it is the result of long period of western propaganda and brainwashing, maybe it is just ignorance, all i know is that it is never a good thing for us. |
born2fuck: Fulani Herdsmen-The tribe that value the life of a cow more than their families. The tribe that invaded another's land, slaughtered the innocent children and wives just because they want more space for their cows roam. The tribe that cried over cow death and did not care if their relative or son die. The curse tribe originated from Niger republic.....It is quite silly what you just did when you know little about the person you are talking to. I guess people lose their civility when behind the mask of the internet. |
mondi_cheeks: please someone help me insult this one in igboSorry Igbos and Igbo culture does not support feminism...fight for yourself. |
I guess that is what one gets for being a western puppet. |
CAMEROONPRIDE: I see your point. But mondi is a die hard feminist that's why I'm surprised by her comment. She def doesn't sound like someone who kneels down to feed her bf .in fact I doubt if she even makes the table.she's probably the help urself kind of girl.Oh now i see. i missed the joke i guess. |
all4naija: You are the one paid to disseminate false information by your extremist agenda lords. You keep fooling yourself with your conspiracy theory without backing. When as that started to be peddle around that American murdered Murtala Mohammed? Who is this fool anyway? It is clear you are the person who doesn't know anything about Nigeria history yet peddling false information. Some of Buka Suka Dimka accomplices is the person who shot him in a coup attempt on February 13, 1976, you i-d-i-o-t!You actually know little about who gave a go ahead for the coup, who propped and promised to give their support if the coup succeeds, who is it that gave the condition that Murtala must be eliminated if the objectives of the coup must be apreciated. Your can no longer confuse people about your western masters, sorry more and more people are getting enlightned and i can see from this thread how they are calling you out. I am not surprised in all groups you allied me with you did not include the Almighty Al Qaeda, the world most renown terrorist organization, the same one USA created, armed and trained, the same one that they are now funding, training, arming against a democratic Sovereign state. Sorry you are doing a bad Job, your masters should cut your salary. |
CAMEROONPRIDE: what do u mean? Why would you be discussing how to roast and salt a pork in a Mosque ? |
nonsookongwu: pls ooooooooo, I want to ask a question, this goes mostly to pple from the east, y is it that if someone gets successful, he or she leaves his town and immediately starts dwelling in another place?......biko kwa, Chimamanda comes from my village and her fathers ancestral house is behind my dad's, we ve never seen her come to say she is getting married ooooo, suddenly she is married to one **++++++**?Well...according to some unwritten feminist law, ................................................................... do you understand ? |
all4naija: How do you mean I am misinforming people? You are the one who lacks the ability to scout for facts online by yourself. If there is any of my comments found wanting why don't you point it out rather than saying such a disappointing thing. Please, desist from petty accusations.Sorry, but i have followed you all through, i have read your posts in other threads and this one included . Only a fool will fail to see that you are deliberately misinforming people and trying to distort their perception of the truth. Why would you be trying so hard if you are not paid to do it. You are paid to misinform people on Nairaland and people should ignore any post you make. |
birdman: Have you ever pondered why (not how) a celebrated Soludo is now a political has-been? His wahala started when he started talking about revaluing the Naira, a supposedly good thing for Nigerians. Except this would be a bad deal for anyone Nigeria owes money. Those bankers made their will known, and now even Soludo's kinsmen are taking him down in his own backyard. In their selfish blindness, they dont even realize they have been setup by foreign interests to cannibalize their own salvation. You are the man, i wish there is a way to send you a bottle of wine. They keep asking why was GEJ so interested in making sure that Soludo is never a governor, i told them that becasue he tried to revalue the Naira, what i found out is that most of people will never understand . |
noblezone: Please, explain how Jonathan sold Nigeria and to whom and at much?GEJ sold Niegria to the Imperialist IMF, he devalued the naira further by 80%, increased fuel price, snorted billions of dollars contracts with US military, he did not back Leaders like Gaddafi and undermined African Unions Efforts to curtail Western Influence on African Policies, he has been undermining everything Nigerian since he became president and he is a slowpoke with no conscience. Abacha is 200 times more better than him, he does not care about the common man, he is just following orders from his American masters. What he did not factor is that all those policies that the IMF instruct him to carry out are targeted at the Igbos whom are the one that hold the economy of Nigeria together, Decades of western engineered frustration did not work because the igbos continue to facilitate circulation of money and micro economic activities so they now specifically targeted them and GEJ was the tool they use. Even though he says his name is Azikiwe and Ebele, he is not Igbo and i will never see him as one, If there should be a Biafra tomorrow i pray the Igbos should learn from their history and let the Ijaws have their own country. |
Sybellah: an hour long?lol nairaland. A hot tempered person should not be in this site. |
CAMEROONPRIDE: what about feminism? It seems you are trying to cause trouble here. |
All4naija is working...i have a strong feeling to believe he is paid for mis-informing people and trying to influence the opinion of readers here in this site. Arguing with him is silly in my opinion. |
obayaya: shut up.. big fool... America didn't stop apartheid.. you ignorant fool.. maybe you should read murtala Mohammed's Africa has come of age speech to understand. and please stop sounding like a broken gong on this thread. And you guys still wonder why the Americans Assassinated Murtala Muhammad, there is even more to the whole game, the man has plans for Nigeria and West Africa specifically, plans if had succeed would have turned west Africa into something to envy. |
adami 1: This so call America & western countries will never stop their media propopanda & double standard, America was the only country that use nuclear bomb against other country killing over 50 thousand japanese, nobody raise d issue at d United Nation till today and they ar still modernising their Nuclear Bomb everyday, they are figthing terrorist & they are giving terrorist weapons & money to kill innocent people in syria just because of crude oil, look at what is happen in Afghanistan & iraq, they went there because of crude oil, they succeded in distabilising the counties, no peace there till today, weopon of mass destruction was never found in iraq, one million civilians was killed by George Bush & Tony Blair, nobody raise d issue at d united nation, international criminal court can not prosecute Bush &Blair because their contries are above d international LAW but I.C.C can prosecute Kenyan president & his deputy because 1,000 people die during election violent.Brainwashed masses don't really see these things you pointed out, to them USA is a God that is above the law. It is said what goes around comes around, i am waiting till it comes to us. |
DailyNews: My dear brother, goodmorning and read this:The only thing i can tell you is that you are only aware of the effects of our problem but not the cause of it, and people like you make up the majoirty of Nigeria and that is why it has been hard for us to move ahead. Most of middle east is developed past Africa and that is one of the reasons why the US and Israel will never let them a space to breath, was it not the same Iran that has all these things you mentioned that the west are planning to attack ? You need to read more on your history. |
birdman: keep wishing man. the only reason Nigeria hasnt been sold out completely is because it is heterogenous and large. There are so many conflicting interests internally it is near impossible to perpetrate an agenda for any length of time. As much as I am not a fan of the Nigerian project, it does have this one thing in its favor. Without regional allies, Amaechi would have been toast by now.You know one can only wish ...what else can i do. You know surprisingly i will vote Buhari any day any time. I have 100% confidence on that man. Only God can describe how much i hate GEJ and not for his state of origin but for how he sold out Nigerians to his foreign masters. |
Fulaman198: That's extremely true, same goes for India who are doing extremely well right now. They have come a long way and have become developed, but they are far less Westernized than Nigeria. If you come close to Indians you will learn that the Brits and later the Americans tried very hard, thrice more than they did in Nigeria to instill systemic corruption in India, they wanted that nation to be just like Nigeria, in some places they succeeded but generally the Indians still pushed on, one attribute of the Indians that helped them was their hold to their culture and values, the priority their culture gives to the community before the individual is what saved them. Nigerians are increasingly getting Individualistic as days goes on and that is never part of our values, i wonder where that would leave us. |
shymexx: @UndergroundIt is already Nigeria now, why do you think Boko Haram was getting sophisticated and what role do you think it was set up to play if not the same role Western Sponsored terrorist played in Libya and Syria. why do you think we have IMF/World Bank witches like Okonjo Iweala and other minions destroying our economy if not to frustrate Nigerians and get them susceptible to Violence in order to be ready for 2015 American predicted division of Nigeria. Why do you think that all of a sudden all western puppet nations all over Africa systematically started harassing Nigerians and deporting them if not to send that same message that we must divide. Why would after Nigerian Intervention in Sierra lean which almost eclipsed US influence in that country would US all of a sudden tilt its policies towards Nigeria. The game has started and Boko Haram is the gunpowder. we are just playing into their hands and many of our leaders are conscious or a game but they being unintelligent does not know what the end plan is, they all thought it is corruption as usual. Nigeria's game has started, it has just not reached the level that ordinary masses will notice it, with the level of ignorance our the masses it will succeed and only many decades after will it be revealed what really happened. |
all4naija: People are using Chinese as an example of those who keep to their culture as if they are not more Western than Africans in their approach to development. The streets of china are more western than any African nation. That is laughable of those who refused to get it that modernity is not about a particular culture but about moving forward and allow changes to have its way.Sorry you are confusing Development with westernization. they are two different things and very distinct. We are talking about Culture here and Chinese are not as westernized as we are. |
noblezone: Biafra is nothing else but an alternative to the falsehood called Nigeria!I have no teeth left bro. I just wish that the forces that hijacked Nigeria for its selfish gratification would not do the same with Biafra. Looking at what is happening in the east with the leaders we had one can only hope. |
Horus: To understand you have to do more research about the Third Reich. The ordinary american soldier of WWII don't have a clue about what was going on behind closed doors at the Top of the establishement in America. The US government and the Anglo-American banking cartel are two different entities. Germany and the Third Reich are two different entities. The Third Reich just took control of Germany (a soft coup d'etat). During WWII the Third Reich was funded by the Anglo-American banking cartel. Even when Germany was bombed by the allied armies there was some specific factories that were Not bombed because the Anglo-American banking cartel had some important investments in many German companies. After the war Germany was defeated but the Third Reich was not defeated. People that were part of The Third Reich were simply "transfered" to the United States where they worked hand in hand with the US Military on developing long range missiles and the Atomic Bomb, they even developed secret UFOs programs (flying saucer). They just got rid of some of the nazis that they didnt need by sendind them to the Nuremberg trials just to make the world believe that it was the fall of the Third Reich. Those who funded WWII are the same people who funded the war in Vietnam. You are talking to a talking drum. just like all drums its makes its reply from how its beaten. |
