Exactly and teaching our HISTORY as well, including the worst atrocities we committed against ourselves such as selling our ancestors as slaves to Arabs and then the whites.
No Mr, we never committed anything against ourselves that can be termed "worst" pre-colonial times, the crimes we need to teach our children were the forced miseducation by the white Brits during colonial occupation, how fathers whom protested about the miseducation of his children are promptly imprisoned, how community children are forced under colonial mandate to go to school where they are told they were nothing, that they were barbarians, that white man is God,that their culture is backwards while the whites culture of pillage, greed, individualism and waste is right, where the insidious seeds that produced Africans like you with their slave resolve were sown.

i will tell you the worst atrocity we have committed against ourselves, it is the continued propagation of those same lies that was used to destroy us by the whiteman, it is the propagation of his religion, his idea of superiority, the continued vilification of our traditions, our moral codes, our spiritual observations which has preserved sanity and trust between a man and his neighbors, that is the worst atrocity we have committed against our race and it was not done precolonial or colonial times. so take a good book on African liberation and enlighten yourself a bit , an before you spew another of those foul smelling " the same books written by the whiteman" ,let me surprise you by saying "BLACK PEOPLE WRITE BOOKS TOO!!" read theirs!!.

Did you not realise that the internet is also controlled by those who created Ebola, according to YOUR conspiracy theory huh

The highlight is the REAL issue.
We are NOT working at all. Look around you and you will realise that ALL that we use is the creation/invention/improvement of these Western countries you rile against so much. That includes the medium on which this discussion platform is made available shocked
What sort of senseless statement is that ? How do they control the internet ? Please tell us … how do they stop others and us from posting and reading the truth, since we don't have the finance to start our own big media companies what do we lack that we can't start our own internet information dissemination systems.
It's people like you that yells ocha wu agbara up and down ,a product of colonial brainwashing bearing attitudes born out of self hatred, inferior resolve and an acute case of Stockholm Syndrome.

We use the creation of the whites and so what? The same resolve of an enslaved mind unashamedly displaying itself for the world to see, they used African inventions to achieve their dream then why can't we use there inventions to assist in achieving ours ? Why can't we copy their products and use it our own advantage, manufacture it ourselves and tweak it to work for our objectives ?
What sort of picture are you trying to paint for our readers with this your fatalistic slave mentality ? God! You And your types are just Horrible.

CultureRe: Why African Men Are So Weak? by thoth: 12:10pm On Oct 04, 2014
The answer to your question is evident from the sort of response you already got in your post. One is defending the Colonists Gods while asserting that we should wait for that God to set things right , the other told you it depends but has no answer to exactly what it depends on.
The illuminist told you frankly that you were wrong because Africa's problems were disease and starvation and God forgot to give us weapons to fight it ,also reminding you that South Africa, Kenya and Nigeria got their countries back (as if there were nations called South Africa,Kenya or Nigeria before colonial destruction started ) and you dare not oppose this stance.

The next guy quite true to his Africanness does not understand the write up,does not have any input nor does he have any questions on the assertions but he certainly would bet his left leg that it was written by a black feminist.
Here came the most interesting of all, he is against the people's mandate in the body of Biafra and at the same time tries to sell a CIA puppet as the Messiah. Put simply his only problem against the truth offered by IGBOSON is that it was TOO TRUTHFUL.

On the OP i believe the writer was right, the colonists never left as many thought they just handed the reins to willing servants , i think the black man is a coward, afraid to effect a revolution, to exterminate the enemies within. I believe there is a solution through education, if the people make a stand that African education must be that; African, and we must teach our kids that which will turn them into brave and proud men ,our own history and our own ideology. The gains that the enemies of Africa has gained through colonialism will be systematically defeated.

birdman: Prove what has been proven with evidence in lawsuits against shell? They couldnt sue Abacha because the chances of getting a a fair judgement in Nigeria is zero. But they could sue Shell because it was a foreign company, and therefore could be sued in a place with a sane legal system.

But let me play your game for a second.

You are suggesting that Saro Wiwa was murdered without any input from Abacha.
That the specially convened military tribunal and the execution (hanging) by the military had no Abacha input.
Somehow Abacha didnt know about Shell paying witnesses who would later recant
Abacha was busy with something else and didnt notice the rape and pillaging of the Ogoni.
The repeated frustrations of the Ogoni 9's lawyers (who would quit) was an accident. Abacha had nothing to do with it.
That somehow, convicting the Ogoni 9 without proper defense was a fair thing, and Abacha could have done nothing about it.

While you are at it, lets ignore Sgt Rogers and Al Mustapha's confessions Or the numerous student activists who were disappeared by the SSS. Somehow, Soyinka became afraid of his own shadow overnight. LOL

All these are events recorded in multiple newspapers, home and abroad, and vetted as evidence in two justice systems. But somehow, the same Abacha that was so powerful even IBB had to mechonu, the same one that jailed a sultan without any recourse...somehow this same Abacha had no control in the Ogoni case. *I have to SMH here*

You are willing to swallow this much BS just because you think Abacha "stood up to the white man". Whatever Abacha did, he didnt do it out of patriotism or black nationalism. Abacha was a mad man who fought anything that stood in his way (white, black, christian, muslim etc), fact that would lead to the engineering of his death. May your (and GenBuhari's) need to appoint black saviours not lead you to embracing mad men, criminals and despots. AMEN!
there is a lot lumped together in the above post of yours, i do understand your view though that does not make you right.
on saro wiwa's issue: what inputs exactly did Abacha make in his conviction ? in the documents released on the investigation made after wikileaks revelations where or what evidence suggested that the regime was aware that the witnesses were false ? Do you know that of all the witnesses all were Ogoni except 2 ? what is special about the tribunal from others during the regime(military) ?
Are you aware of the changes in the terms of the contract between Nigeria and most of the multinational companies 5 months into Abacha's regime? when was the first time the pollution caused by the oil companies were ever investigated ? what sanctions came as a result of that investigation ?
Look i am not a sentimental man and rarely judge people based on a single performance, you should look into saro wiwa case again and ignore the foreign tabloids this time.

On the issue of Sgt Rogers and Co ,well…… i will just say that only men who has experienced a neocolonial war against their nation would understand the need for such gallant men. People who has never been in a position that requires them to lead more than 5000 heads would never get it.

Im bookmarking this thread, so that if I catch you attempting to form nonsense about good governance on any other thread, I can point your listeners to this thread.

CrimeRe: Who Do You Suppose Launched An Attack On Nairaland And Why? by thoth:
For the past few months a lot of enlightening posts has been made on Nairaland, mostly on politics, Afrocentric Educational reforms and the whole interventionist Humanitarian scam. Such posts, the arguments it raised, and the detailed answers given by enlightened posters has been serving as thought guidelines for most whom were before unenlightened in such matters.

If the attack(if there was actually one and not just a collaborative sham) has achieved anything at all, it can only be said that it eliminated any benefit that Nairaland can offer to its users whom are mostly Nigerians and Africans in the sense of enlightenment and relegated it to an empty, uninformative website where fiddle minds that are alienated from there own reality play light tricks on each other for amusement.

I was not surprised that older posts were not affected, I am only surprised that most of us can still log in with our previous accounts.
If you ask me if Nairaland was hacked, on a good day I can say “maybe”, some other days I might oppose such notion.

How Africans from foolish pride will misdirect their aggression form a clear standing enemy to themselves is quite a pity, I can see how a very thought provoking thread with an important message has in a question of few threads has degenerated into slurs and show-offs, if Bushido5 did not make a strategic swerve in the thread above he would have been clunked into it as well. Are we not all Africa ? Are we not all being exploited ? Are we not all black people ? Is it not all black people that is being looked down upon or is it Ghana or Nigerians only ? Why should we resort to some childish “i better pass you” when we have very dangerous issues facing us. Very sad indeed.
Christianity EtcRe: Africans, We Need To Wake Up!! by thoth: 1:59am On Jan 10, 2014
But here we are again doing exactly what we shouldn't be doing, laying blames. It is good enough that we realized the existence of these problems ,I do believe that awareness will only call from intelligent people to come together and design a way to oppose this erosion of our values, because it is not just our resources that is being targeted but also our values and morals, those weapons which historic African civilizations over centuries have designed to safeguard our societies and nations and guard us in our relations with one another to sustain peace and mutual trust.

Sincerely many people would want to help, have resources to help, but just don't see any outline on how to carry things along, so if we can use this opportunity; lets put forward any practical ideas that we may have, no matter how little or insignificant it is to battle this menace , a step is all that is needed. How do we start ? If a new forum should be created let it be, if we should use this then lets begin. Hoping to hear from you guys.

For me alone Nigerians really need to suffer before the break up, because i know even the common man on the street does not want to learn anything about his government, his history, nor his future.
You can give him all the analysis and evidence you have and make strategic plans with him then at the end of the day he tells you that his pastor said..... his chief said..... his Ifa said..... his Imam said ….....

You can show him evidence and give him examples to think for HIMSELF and then he will tell you that CNN said....BBC said... AL Jazeera said...... followed by a question that goes like “ Do you know more than BBC/CNN ?”

His leaders are corrupt, inept and stinks of inferiority complex that make them do the most silly things unimaginable yet when you point out such things the next man beside you will ask you which tribe you are from and his evaluation of points you have made will be based on whether you are the same tribe with the leader or you have the same religion with the leader in question.

What's a better solution than to have these people really suffer and steal as much as you can in the process ?

The US practically owns the UN, if not for diplomacy i really don't see any sense in informing the UN on anything. We had Vietnam,Nicaragua,Honduras,Iran and the UN did nothing till now, We had Somalia,Afghanistan,Iraq and recently Bahrain and UN still did nothing. What do they expect UN will do in Syria ?
The UN guys are probably waiting for a mistake by Assad or a loophole which they will quickly seize, come to life and then immediately declare a UN intervention which would be lead by US Forces. If that happens then......

all4naija: How does that population who claim to die for the country represent everybody? There is always this feeling inside everybody to fight for the country but not fighting for authoritarians and tyrants. At least, AP should be investigative enough to know that it must analyse for the reader the situation as a whole. How that does reflect the view of all now? The government army is not fighting for the country by bombarding innocent citizens. No matter how much argument we make and claim the rebels are using humans as shields doesn't nullify the fact Al Assad is bent of staying in power forever and he want to achieve that by all means possible. It is time you start looking as the cause of the war rather than dwelling of sentiment and news stories that have different views. The same AP will tomorrow loudmouth about how the people fought against the tyrant if they succeeded to remove him from power. You would have to reference Qaddafi's case to better understand what I am talking about.

The truth of the matter is that the blame is on the president. He is stubborn, swift and dangerous. Such a person cannot create a path for election to take place. What I see in the whole complicate Syrian war is that Al Assad is being given the time to murder his people and the terrorist groups involvement is making it difficult to get rid of him easily. The reason the West is hesitant to take action. If the terrors can give room to the people to do the fighting he will be toppled with months(that is my personal observation).

Thank you.

all4naija: The Nigeria situation is clearly different from what you are trying to input into this argument. The case of Syria has been long been put to Al Assad to make reforms before the insurgent attacks. Jonathan came to meet Boko Haram activities and they never said he should step down. Another thing, he's not using terrorist group to fight Boko Haram. The case of Nigerian insurgents is to have their own country to enthrone Sharia laws which huge number of Northerners are against. You are misled to think the Nigerian case can be compared to Syria. That only makes your argument irrelevant looking at the angle your are viewing your comparison from.

The same Al Assad is being supported by terrorist group and you haven't been able to explain why he is making use of Hezbollah to fight for the wrong course to remain in power for life. Indeed, I am beginning to understand less why you are attaching sentiment to this whole debate.

Thank you.
When someone has the face to repeat a certain silly utterance we usually call the person a m0ron, The Security situation of Nigeria is no different from Syria, the only measure which it can be differentiated is in INTENSITY, both are terrorists, both are fighting a democratically elected government, Both has been killing innocent citizens using terror to pursue their goals, both wants to impose sharia, both wants to bypass the procedures provided by the law of the nation to achieve their aims so therefore both are Illegal.

Since the regime of Margaret Thatcher , people have been crying for reforms in Britain and there has been numerous riots and deaths has resulted from police actions, has they took to arms ? No! they went to the polls.
Since 1964 Americans has demonstrated against their nations involvement in many wars and policies, have they taken arms and killed their fellow Americans that belongs to the opposition ? No! they went to the polls.

You are a Nigerian and don't tell me you have not witness all the destructive policies that has been dumped on our good hardworking citizens , what is holding you back from taking up arms ?
If a minority asks for reforms which by the way are totally unreasonable in nature they should get it at the polls.

I am really surprised that a sane human being will try to cast the Liver eating terrorists in Syria in such light. you should be ashamed of yourself.

You should explain to us how Hezbollah became a terrorist organization.

all4naija: I blame the terrorists killings in that village as well as Al Assad! You must be reasonably wrong to think I don't see the killings as unacceptable and bad.

Looking at the whole issue which is more complicated than what we are seeing it to be from a particular perspective, there every necessity to stop this war at the initial time before it get started by he refused and started calling them cockroaches and rats. That goes a long to prove my point that the root-cause is the president and he is to blame. Another thing, he has been using Hezbollah terrorist group to support the government fighters all along. That equally shows that he is supporting terrorism as well as crime against humanity, by repeatedly bombing innocent citizens.

Syria war is a complex one!
What I did not see is where you extend you form of reasoning to Nigeria and suggest that Goodluck Jonathan who is the democratically elected president of Nigeria should give in to the requests of Boko Haram, step down, have sharia imposed on Nigeria and execute all Nigerian citizens whom are Christians, Traditional religion practitioners and Shia Muslims.

As you have not done so, I will take your post as a spill over of your overflowing ignorance and therefore irrelevant.

Nigeria is a country that can not deform a plastic material yet you have strategic in the same sentence with Nigeria. Nigerians should endeavor to take trips out of the jungle called Nigeria in order to realize the degree of emptiness about the country.
I don't think you have the slightest idea of what it means to be a strategic element in a geopolitics. Since Nigeria for more than a decade has been under bad leadership, its strategic importance has been lost to Nigerians and most Africans but intelligent nations are quite aware of this and are bent on eliminating any disadvantage it poses to their agenda.

I see Nigerians rejoicing at separation, it will be a strategic loss not only to Nigerians but to Africans, The architects of this maneuver has eventually succeeded in psychologically guiding people to where they want them to be. At this moment it seems like the only solution though I rather say it is the lazy man's only solution.
What many has not done so far is to find the root cause of the failure of the Nigerian experiment because I strongly believe that same actors have already preprepared ahead of time and put their assets and spies/puppets in place to dominate, control, exploit the much weaker nations which will come out as a result of this breakup, it will be far more worse than under Nigeria and far more atrocious.
Let we Africans for once do things like intelligent people.

It is impossible to eradicate corruption and create progressive leaders without heeding this advice first “Do you teach them history? Do you have lessons on how your past leaders stood by us and gave us large amounts of money? “.

Many African and south American nations whom has not indulged in imperialism during their recent history does not understand the importance of child education and instilling of national pride and ethics by teaching them their national history. They instead; when irked by the destructive mentality of their people resort to barbaric means, they become ruthless and Iron handed believing that can instill change on the people, this course of action instead creates resentment, that is no wonder because the people you are trying to direct has no foundations on such principle nor do they have certain knowledge which they can fall back on and compare their actions to decide what the nation expects of them.
With the rise of Pentecostalism, media addiction(hip-hop, wizkid etc) and the demise of Nigeria educational system such goals can only remain a dream.
