kunlekunle: u shd remind him of ogendengbe's statement. that after the kiriji war there would never be a single war again in and on yoruba land. all were involved and suffered.Igbos are fiercly democratic, you should study more on Igbo history. Nobody bows to another human being as kings, even where there were kings you dare not bow down to him, that is simply not igbo culture to be slaves to another man. T8ksy: Ibadan is not the only town that owes its creation to yorubas internal conflicts. Abeokuta is another classical example. They were WARS. Even the colonialists witnessed some of them and they recorded it as WARS but you guys who have no recorded history of having participated in any major war (save the biafran war which you lost, woefully) demeans it in your usual malicious trait by calling it "wrestling contest". Yet you guys have not been able to show us any culture that created an empire as big as the Oyo empire from wrestling contests.Igbos are the only tribe from all the tribes that constitute mordern Nigeria that fought the British as a nation https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ekumeku_Movement, with a truly advanced chain of command. Igbos waged war on the invading British soldiers for 12 solid years as one united nation. there are less than 4 places in Africa that such has happened, what we have rather in other places like Yoruba land is each group fighting for itself and town after town taken. Igbos are a civilized nation with laws guiding its engagement with other tribes long before they encountered the Europeans. It is the Ekumeku Resistance and unity of the igbos that sparked the British fear and distrust of the Igbo till today. you should do some research on that. |
I am happy that the original writer was Neither Igbo,Hausa or Yoruba or else you would have seen how the whole article can be warped and distorted to mean something else. |
US Champions of Democracy..a minute later some Brainwashed Nigerians would come calling on how Assad was evil and was killing civilians with chemical weapons. |
it is just plain racism and a common belief that blacks are inadequate and unintelligent, and that they being lighter skinned than blacks makes them superior. |
Idi Amin and Mugabe were one of those true African leaders that knew what is to be done and did it. Even Indians in South Africa look down on blacks because of their skin. I have been to Trinidad and Tobago and it is the same story. |
donedy: Of course, you wouldn't hang with a pure Nigerian men. However, if I may ask, why would Nigerian men hang with a homo?Haha i wondered so my self. we don't want our PURITY contaminated with their craziness. |
ba7man: Its true, we always seek everywhere for one external cause of our situations without looking inwards first. How do you look inwards ? people always say that in the context of a society without understanding what it means in that context. My Vicky: I agree with you. Because if not, how on earth could someone claim that serving God is the problem of nigeria?what were our great grandfathers serving before the Christian Europeans came ? ba7man: I pay no mind to those kind of people. They either haven't read the Bible or aren't patient enough to understand it.When someone has not actually spent an hour to research the history of its people, has not made any efforts to trace back the problems that plague his society, has never thought of looking at himself from a different angle then he makes a post like yours. The Europeans never brought Christianity to you, they never brought Spirituality to you, they took it away from you, they taught you how to be religious without being spiritual and they have made every effort to keep you that way. Why would a christian make war on helpless villagers to enslave them ? why would a christian get involved in the most atrocious enterprise on earth which is slave trade ? why would a christian enslave a whole nation and force labor on them and proudly call himself a colonist ? i can go on and on but that is enough to show you that those Europeans themselves were not Spiritual and does not practice any of those virtues(love, giving, kindness, etc) that you stated, so how on earth do you expect Africans to have such virtues when their teachers does not ? It is clear you were never taught to be Spiritually developed. I know many Christians will be repulsed on engaging in such thoughts but one can not know himself without breaking that barrier. There has been many books written by great African scholars on this issue and i wish you can one day seek the truth for yourself. Food for thought: Christians always stand that Muslims are not not worshiping the true God, Muslims stand that Christians are not believers, each believe itself to be more pious than the other and are ready to go to war to defend their belief. Now, who is actually worshiping the true God ? |
My Vicky: You threw me into paroxysm of laughter!!!! Your comment must be a joke! It is so hilatrious to me that I'm even short of words to say!!! I can't believe you just typed all that and you couldn't see how amusing it sounded!!!!!It is clear that you found yourself helpless against the facts i presented and your attempt to dilute and then diffuse the argument is very childish . |
My Vicky: May be you should check http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poverty_in_China, the references therein as well as several other pages on the internet about the poverty situation in China (e.g http://www.ruralpovertyportal.org/country/home/tags/china). Though, the rate of poverty is declining yet roughly 36% of the population is still poor! That's approximately thrice or three times the population of Nigeria!!! Meanwhile, I have worked and studied with a lot of chinese guys and I have lots of them as friends. All you said about China is not the whole truth. It is true that poverty rate is declining dratically but yet over 480 million chinese are still living in poverty! If one is comfortable in his or her country, why do they have to troop out en mass working odd jobs in foreign countries? It is true that some seek business deals and make millions in the process but yet others flee due to the economic situation in China. People who work with Chinese companies such as Huawei will be able to enlighten you better about how chinese guys breach immigration laws just to flee their country and accept odd placements outside. When a country is conduicive for her citizenry, you hardly find them trooping out enmass and even the very few who do, do so for tourism, adventure or businesses. How many Norwegians, Americans, Saudi Arabians, venezuelans etc do you find outside their country as compared to chinese (and Nigerians) outside their countries? You should first understand that many of the sources you referred to is highly political, in the sense it is used as a western smearing campaign against the Chinese government, you did not read the discussion section of the Wikipedia articles you posted and see the tremendous flaws that people keep pointing out. the other website is just smear. i deal with statistics released by the Chinese governments themselves and the reality on the ground and that does not go in line with the western pig tales which is usually fed to the unenlightened masses. Was it not the same western organizations that will tell you that Nigeria is growing by 12% yearly and make other bogus claims of development and investments while the reality on the ground is that many more people are slumping into the worst state of poverty never witnessed so far in this country since after the civil war ? My question was very simple and i hope you can address it in the same manner..china under Deng Xiaoping started introducing Capitalist policies in their economy from 1980 and if that has raised more than 1 billion Chinese out of poverty even though they don't believe in God and brought them into being the world largest economy ; how then that your Christianized Nigerians has not brought even 2% of their population out of poverty for more than 50 years? Even if we go by your statistics and 40% of Chinese(i know you said 36%) are poor does that compare with Nigeria positively ? That means that more than 1 billion people are actually living good. what does that say about your country ? Chinese never run away from their country like Nigerians do, they simply go to explore and find markets for their services. if you have Chinese working as laborers in a Chinese construction firm that means they are gainfully employed and rendering services and therefore receive a salary for their services. Nigerians don't even have menial jobs to do talk less of one where they can claim to be gainfully employed. is that what you call running away ? We should talk good about our country of course but we should be truthful to ourselves while doing that. sorry. On the topic of wars and barbarism as a part of human experience i can agree that it existed in minute and manageable quantity, and it is not justified in any way. what the colonialist did was to introduce those two in a way that it can actually be termed as true destruction and Barbarism, the highest extent it could go..justified by Christianity and christian civilization. there are armed robbers since the beginning of time but when some Christians arm those bad eggs and promise them money if they can raid villages with their Christian weapons and bring back slaves then it becomes barbarism. There were religions in Africa , but when some Christians kill thousands and imprison more thousands and force their religion down their throats then it become barbarism. since all those religions co-existed peacefully with each other and no one has ever heard in history that an African religion tried to convert another African religion by force. Africans are not fanatics, Christianity/Islam brought fanaticism to Africa. the simple truth is we had peace before the Christians came and they took it away from us. IT IS THEY CHRISTIANS THAT TOOK AWAY THE PEACE FROM AFRICA. |
ozo_emeka: MAY...... ACT LIKE A NIGERIANif writing MAY in capital letters does not give it enough empahsis then i don't know how else to put it...maybe it is just my Nigerianess at it again. |
PAGAN 9JA:I have always tried to explain this to other people in other threads but they always have this western capitalistic definition of wealth which is probably used to misinform thrid world countries and to force their neo liberal polices down their throat. I once asked, how did clearing living quarters of middle class citizens made up of many 4 stories and building houses that the middles class themselves cannot afford show development ? this is witnessed in Abuja and Lagos and the result is pushing house prices high and even lack of houses. skyscrapers does not show wealth, wealth is when the quality of life of the constituting citizens are good. I once asked them how does painting up and old school and then increase the tuition fee threefold becomes wealth when 80% percent cannot afford it ? well..there are many kinds of education...with time when Africans can no longer take it anymore, when hunger and war had done them quite good, when they have to live from hand to mouth because the cost of survival(not even living) is so high then they will open up to real education. They would tell you a city has the highest number of billionaires but they will never tell how how many million poor people lives in the same country. yet our people believe this as wealth. a country that has 50 billionaires and 158 million people that are poor is not rich, it is only a country of thieves. |
I remember when Nollywood was based in Agbakoba Park, then you had good movies in the 90's and then suddenly they moved to Lagos and everything started going apart, Igbos should learn from this, they really need to learn from this. |
kwangi: ^^He has no business discussing rain-making/holding. He doesn't really want to know. That is what i noticed, Africans are their own enemies. |
igbo2011: Chinese are in Africa giving bad deals and staling resources to. Everyone has their bad apples. Chinese build bad infrastructure People say they rather have no infrastructure than bad ones.I don't deny that, in fact there are lots of evidence to prove what you said, what i did not agree with was that they are fleeing poverty in their own country, can you imagine such thought ? if they are fleeing poverty why can't we be the ones building those stuffs for them, why would they be building stuffs for us, making deals that worth billions of dollars why the same Christianized Nigerians don't have such juicy deals ? that was my disagreement with the poster. |
baby-boy:Now that is a pure lie, nobody gave anybody mirror in exchange for diamonds and i you just keep coming up with these crazy statements i think you are seriously brainwashed. Africans traded Gold as far as Saudi Arabia and Persia, they know the value of those things and This shows that your are a perfect evidence of what the OP stated, an education that degrades and disables anyone that accepts it. |
baby-boy:So we were living in caves and covered our body with leaves cus we can't make beautiful clothes before the white man came ? is that what you want us to believe ? |
lomprico: Why not go and live in a cave without civilisation. Big Full!how did you know Africans were living in caves without civilization before the white men came ? Your own case deserves pity and you really need re-education. |
he peace agreement, in summary, went smoothly without much rancor. Chief Victor Umeh tabled his demands and grievances to the group in the presence ofPeter Obi – and Peter Obi did the same. Atthe end, Chief Victor Umeh demanded that the allowances which Peter Obi stopped paying should be paid in addition to other expenses he incurred as the party chairman. He pegged the amount at N1billion. But Governor Peter Obi was willing to pay N600million. After some negotiations, Governor Peter Obi and Victor Umeh agreed on N600million. Governor Peter Obi paid N300million to Victor Umeh in the presence of the group while promising to pay the remainder before the completion of the election exercise.[\quote] Am i the only one that read this paragraph. |
dasparrow: Why didn't the whites remain in Europe as well instead of migrating to South Africa and treating Negros like yourself there like shyte?I will always remember this response. One of the most illuminating comeback i had come across on such topics. |
My Vicky: So, Nigeria should have been great when her people had the non-alien religions! Haven't you read about the pre-colonial wars, chaos, brutality, inhumanity, wickedness, cruelty, miseries and such likes that were prevalent in the then ethnic groups in Nigeria!. You are right about North Korea but have you considered other small countries of the world who are doing so great even with the so-called alien religions! Looking at Asia like you said, I am not deceived by the figures of financial buoyancy usually attributed to China. You need to visit China and see how impoverished a large number of her citizens are! You don't even need to visit China, just look around you and see number of chinese folks who 'fled' their country to seek greener pastures elsewhere. It's the same thing that we hear about Nigeria, they tell us Nigeria is one of the most prosperous and rich country in Africa but that doesn't cascade down to her down-trodden masses. That's exactly the situation in China, India...though I do not know much about the living conditions of the people of Japan and S/Korea. I am much aware of the fact that religion without God has created a lot of problems for us in Africa, especially Nigeria but advocating the eradication of spiritual development in the society will do more harm than good. The USA is heading in that downward direction forgetting that the foundation laid by the so called religious fore fathers has gone a long way to help the progress of the country.Sorry, there were no wars, miseries, brutality whatsoever in per-colonial times, i have studied African history quite well and i promote it myself, so maybe you should direct us to where you read about such Barbary in per-colonial Africa. Each Ethnic groups has rules and laws that govern their engagement with other ethnic groups, one study shows that the inter-ethnic conflict was amplified and violence intensified with the European Christian contacts in Africa, The Christian Europeans were giving guns and weapons to river line chiefs and inciting them to slave campaigns against the inland nations and naturally they aided and overthrew many chiefs who obstructed the crooks among their community from going the western way. The only time we ever had such horrible events was with the Islamic Jihad of Usman dan Fodio and the equally barbaric but more horrible invasion by the Europeans with the Christianity and mass exploitation. Sorry i am living in china at the moment. I have stayed in china during its formative years and as pure communist country and my job at that time gives me more insight to the national policies and reasons why such policies are formed. You Fail to understand is that the Chinese guys you see around you were there because their country is rich and they are there on a sort of expedition, which is simply finding markets for their goods and services. they live better than you in your own country and they have meaningful and respectable things to do unlike your own Christianized people who go their country to sell drugs and steal from respectable citizens. china has come a long way and they are bringing millions out of poverty each year, read their urbanization process and the statistics that follows it every 2 years, you will marvel at the number of Chinese that has a better and improved living conditions every year, the amount of Chinese that are living comfortably is three times the whole population of Nigeria while you and your Christianized leaders could not even say that of 40% of your population. Again, we are more spiritually developed in our pristine African experience than the in our modern christian/Islamic confused state. nobody advocates for the eradication of religion rather what i am calling for is an African solution to African problems, my first post clearly explained it and the reason behind the idea. |
tankoemmanuel: This is a ground-breaking invention I did way back last year in UNN together with two other researchers and student-scientists in UNN. They were both in Electronic Engineering and Botany. We did this project while we were in school and displayed it as the Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme Office. We even took it to Category II UNESCO Centre for Technology and Biotechnology in UNN. We were commended but the support died there. If you can go to the Iranian Embassy and make some proposition to them you might get some good deals and opportunity to work in a lab with like minded scientist to further develop this technology. You do have many options which could not be talked about here. Nigeria is a dead nation, just move forward. A friend in Somalia was there when a fighter had faults and fell off the sky, he just hauled the panel and he made millions from selling it to interested parties. |
panafrican: [b]who told you I do not like African-Americans? I prefer 1000,000 times Louis Farrakhan to some sell-out Africans such as Jonathan Goodluck, Blaise Compaore' ( President of Burkina Faso) ,Faure Eyadema ( president of Togo), Abodulaye Wade(former president of Senegal), Allassane Ouattara the criminal president of Cote d'Ivoire etc.How can i hug someone in Nairaland ?? Good one bro. |
I think when you post pictures you will write a description about the person in the picture. Africans really have a long way to go. really really long. |
My Vicky: Do you think about the consequences of neglecting God either by a nation or by her people? North Korea should have been the best country in the world going by the quoted analysis!Nobody is neglecting God, But we had our ways of worshiping the almighty before the alien religions invaded and destroyed our society and peace. North Korea is not Nigeria, they will never be Nigeria, they will never reach Nigerian population in 30 years, neither will they have all the resources that Nigeria has in 1000,000 years, they will not have many ethnic groups as Nigeria does even if they unite with south Korea. I believe you are a christian and a good one too. but you choose the wrong example, maybe out of ignorance or just deliberately, we all have fanatic tendencies but i believe if you are looking at Asia you will rather talk of China and Japan as a Good example. South Korea is another great example. Going back to our roots is the answer. |
scottpirlo24: @ op .... U are misleading pple here, I have been to this location in egypt .... It is not a church ... That picture and location is fateh mosque in cairo ,,,,,, pls stop faking things upThat is not fateh mosque i have been to fateh mosque too. |
No serious Nation will ever sell its power facility to a private handler, that is a huge strategic mistake, No nation that really cares for the welfare of its people will ever hand the backbone of it economy to a private handler instead they will encourage the private investor to build its own power plant and join the grid but they will never privatize the power sector. Nigeria is a nation of shams and crooks with no conscience. |
ozo_emeka: 1, 4 now behaviorally 2, 3* may act like oneShame , you know when i read your post i know you are probably suffering from a serious complex, i deliberately added number 3 as a trap and you fell for it. so 3 MAY act like one just because he was raised by a white woman ? I think you and chika should marry some white man and leave us and our mothers who could not raise us well alone. nobody will really notice. |
Horus: A British Journalist asked Zimbabwean President Mr Robert Mugabe, "Mr President don't you think 89 years old would have been a great time to rest and retire?Very Good One. |
collynzo2: Fûck off you twät! How is the perception of African leaders in the west more important than the other things you mentioned? Idi Amin was nothing more than a corrupt dictator to them anyway, just like Abacha. You are full of shît this guy.Idi Amin was the best president of Uganda, ask any Ugandan, you people have swallowed the western propaganda so much you forgot that Ugandans has a voice, you never listened to the ordinary people of Uganda, the ones that benefited from Idi Amins economic policies, Ugandan still remember the hopes that Idi Amin gave them, the goals he accomplished for all Ugandans, the improvements they witnessed in their everyday life and they compare it to the misery they face now under the western puppets that has successfully ruled them after Amin Dada you never listened to citizens of his neighbors that he use his country's money to educate and instructed them to help develop their own country, you have never listened to any of Idi Amins Speech to know what kind of person he is. All you know is what the western propaganda machine tells you. It is the likes of you that believes Idi Amin is a cannibal. |
drake2005: Now I miss General Sani Abacha. His reply would be... if you can't come to me, you can go to hell! He doesn't kowtow to any world leader, whether super power or not.I don't think you miss him as much as i do . |
Somebody is here asking a stupid Question "Will Nigerian ever do this ?" But i never heard you lot criticize those nations that have been whaling for more than 5 decades now, it is only when it comes to Nigerian that the African man sees evil in something, when white people do it it is seen as a norm, they Africans will even give you a reason to justify that. Is it not people that has been killing those whales to the point of extinction and are they still not doing now ? where came the question will Nigerians do it ? how many whale meat have you ever eaten since you were born ? |
They have all gotten what they wanted, the ASUU guys might think they are well led and somebody advising them really cares for them, the IMF/WORLD BANK Demon is playing her part well. instigate strikes and discontent, place a wedge in the solution to create a deadlock. We have seen it being used in many South American and African countries. We have witness it in the Balkans and we knew the expected outcome. It is an old trick which sadly still works because people refuse to learn from past mistakes. |
