Good Afternoon, want to give a feedback on the cerclage. Just after Olan quoted 420k for the cerclage and based on the advice on this forum and elsewhere, we sought to go to ayinke house. A close family friend who is a matron in one of the hospitals under Lagos state linked us up with a doctor who is obs/gyn . The man is based in ikorodu now and works with the general hospital in ijede ikorodu and he has his own private hospital. We saw him initially in his private hospital and he recommended the cerclage also to be done in General hospital ijdede.

I've never been to a government hospital and the road to the ijede general hospital is really bad but fortunately my parents stay in ikorodu so the distance was managed. Will do the review of my experience of the facilities later but in summary it was better than I expected even though it was rowdy.

My wife had a successful cerclage procedure done for her there and they kept her on bed rest for one week. They also put something in her to pass urine from her bladder to a bag for two days so she has less urge to stand up after the procedure.she also didn't eat before the procedure and she said it wasn't painful. She's much stronger and we did another scan and the cerclage is well placed and baby is fine. No pain yet from the two large fibroids . Going to be 14 weeks soon.

Finally from the 420 Thousand Naira olan quoted , At the General hospital ijede the cost of the cerclage plus cost of accommodation with feeding for seven days plus cost of merceline tape plus cost of necessary drugs came to a grand total of 44k. 44 Thousand Naira. The food wasn't fantastic though so I had to take food to her everyday based on her peculiar cravings for each day.
The doctor we are using is experienced as in general hospital they are exposed to all sorts of cases so I believe he's seen things and he is also realistic.

As for the general hospital ijede, they tried. They even have AC unit in the female ward with plasma TV showing DStv.The power supply is also 24/7 and the environment is neat. There's always a nurse in the room as nurses have a designated chair and table in the ward. You can also Google them and see some of their strides. It's small but they are trying . Also olan charges 15k for ultrasound. They charge 1,500. However it's not about just the cost savings,the doctor seeing us knows what he's doing so far and is handling it as a high risk pregnancy. We keep praying. I thank you all for the advice to use a government hospital. I'm grateful.

This picture was taken on Sunday. We are 24weeks and 5 days today. This baby keep measuring ahead. The first scan I did in may says my Edd is September 6, the second scan which is this month says my Edd is August 9. Although am sticking to the LMP which is October.

Mamas please permit me to rant out my pain, perhaps I will feel much better. Few months ago, someone came to my shop pretended to buy goods and stole my phone and some amount of money, today again in a space of 6 months, they sliced a part of my bag and do away with my wallet, all my contribution money, and everything I have been saving for the past few days gone like that and gone into the wind, my cards nd other important stuffs kept in my wallet. To say how bad I feel will be an understatement. I have been working my ass off despite the country's situation, taking jobs that are underpriced and so on. Now it just looks as if I am working to pay thieves. I ve trekked everywhere searching just to see if the thief atleast threw d remains of the wallet away. All my jajaina Is very heavy and sore. I have been crying but crying doesn't even seem to relieve me. I ve worked too hard this month to lose all my hard earned cash that way sincerely.

Plus my edd keep changing with every scan I do at close intervals tho. But I’m fully prepared with baby items

Birth weight - 3.3kg
She was conceived via IVF as I had a blocked Fallopian tube and PCOS. Also has 2 subserous fibroids. The pregnancy was relatively easy. I only was at the hospital on account of pain from the fibroid twice when they were moving. The CS procédure went very well. I had a very positive experience and great recovery - already walking around with minimal pain. Still getting a hang of breastfeeding but taking my time. In all baby and mum are doing superb while daddy is elated.

I wish my other June team mates and every expecting person here a successful delivery.

I went for Anc today and doctor said my BP is dangerously high(thou he has given me drugs to lower it). I also did scan, baby is in posterior and refused to open up to know the sex. So we are still team surprise for now till next scan�.


* Pls, what can I do to further lower the blood pressure faster?
* What can be done to change baby position cos I read it on Google that posterior position is not good for delivery? Thanks for checking on us.....

I was craving zobo drink made with pineapple. I just made it this morning and had two large cups with ice ...I just finished enjoying my drink when I decided to check google if it’s safe...I was surprised some sites said it’s dangerous in pregnancy...please is it safe to consume zobo in pregnancy?
