I'm not sure too. I was told to avoid anything seeds especially in early pregnancy to be on the safe side. You can enjoy peppersoup without it.

Good evening to my lovely sisters here.


This is my first time posting though I've been following the thread back to back since early last week and I appreciate God for his doings in our lives. I am a new mum to be in which the good news is making hubby feel so great but I am yet to register for antenatal and the only drugs I've been using is folic acid and vitamin c and I am already in 17 weeks but all thanks to Google and Pregnancy apps. I'm well relaxed because I've been so strong right from day one, no symptoms except eating excessively and infact I do all the house chores myself.

I intend registering for antenatal yesterday at the general hospital and CAC maternity home (still waiting for sis-in-law to assist me with this so probably next week) but couldn't wait as the queue was so long at the general so I walked up to a woman that said she's 33weeks gone and she came to register for the first time also so I left deciding to go back weeks later so I branch a diagnostic centre in order to know the sex of my baby which I was given the result and with the aid of Google and the doctor that did the scan I got to know that my baby is perfectly doing so fine (saw her on screen too trying to push down the system with her beautiful legs). So for now I'm fine with my decision but I really need more suggestions and contribution on this.

Personally, I'm not a fan of GH. Since it's your first pregnancy, please find a good hospital and register so you and your baby can be monitored and well taken care of.

Good morning mamas in the house. I’ll like to make some inquiries please. I’m about 21weeks gone. The hospital I’m using often give me Pregatone which I have being using consistently but during my last appointment the Obgyn, she added Folic acid and Calcium to the Pregatone as she said the my PCV is abit low and I needed to build more red blood cells.

I hate taking drugs and the first time I took both the folic acid and calcium in addition to the Pregatone tab...I threw up everything. It was really bad that day cause I felt like my morning sickness was returning again. I had to stop after that day and just continued with only the Pregatone.
It’s been about three weeks now. Please do you think I should be worried because I don’t know if I did the right thing

I see @sunbestie has answered you. Emmm... I'm also in similar shoes with you so I stuck to my Obron6 capsules. Just do as advised to boost your blood level and let them know at the hospital that you throw up those drugs given to you.

We clocked 22 weeks today in good health (Glory be to God).

Meanwhile, my wife went to the hospital for antenatal and scan. Doctor said she and baby are fine. PCV is 31%. I really don't know much about that but doctor said it's good but we can work on it i.e increase blood level by eating more vegetables.

The biggest news now is that the baby's gender has been unveiled and it is a BOY! Yeske A BOY! Swimming with his innocent tool. Lol.

Thanks everyone for regular updates and advice.

I pray God turns every drop of tear from every mum here to victory. Also, mums who have lost their little one will return here with double portion that will last to be celebrated. Amen

Good morning my fellow mummies, someone told me that if a pregnant woman takes drugs like pregnantcare,Natalcare,e.t.c...that there's probability the baby will be big which can lead to CS during birth especially if it is first time mom.pls how true is it and pls share your experience if you've taken those drugs

I took Pregnacare for my two kids 2011 and 2013. I had vaginal delivery for both of them. The boy (my first) was 3.4kg at birth and my girl was 3kg at birth. So me I don't believe that.
Old wives' tale says your baby takes the size of your womb, that is large womb, big baby (don't know how true). Hope this helps

I saw on Google that it can lead to contraction of the womb but a lot of people advice me to eat it in the early stage of pregnancy when I was spitting and vomiting madly.

From my own understanding, your baby is fine. However, a growth (perhaps a fibroid) was also seen alongside your baby. Every other thing is what you can understand. Your EDD is 5/11/2020 and gender is a boy. The baby's presentation is OK but could change at anytime (unstable lie).

It all started when I went to see my Dr for something else and she asked me if I was not ready for my 2nd child , 2nd child kwa? When you know I did CS for the first one & she said it doesn't matter that the early the better for me and that most mama that we delivered the same time have started another journey. She asked me to run prolactin test which was high and I was placed on Dostinex drugs for some months, I was still on the drugs when I confirmed that I was pregnant.
On how I even got to know that I was pregnant was when dh traveled for some weeks & came back, he then looked at me that I have added too much, added? How? Me that I have started watching my weight by drinking lemon water and using tummy trimmer to get back my figure 8 sharp back . So I decided to buy hpt on my way back from work to test lo and behold I saw 2 dark lines (positive) that was when I knew that I have not seen my period for some weeks.
Dh came back and I told him d guy man was just speechless ni. I immediately registered to start seeing Dr for monitoring as I don't want to take any chances at all and she placed me on drugs. This pregnancy came with Ms, first it was serious malaria that I was rushed to the hospital and admitted self and then weakness, vomiting, lost of appetite you just name it.
Fast forward to 22weeks plus, I told the Dr that I was using in Island that I will like to go back and use the Dr that did the first myomectomy and CS because my husband insisted that he wants one person to handle it and she said no problem at 32weeksplus she booked appointment for me to meet with the Dr as I had requested but because of the pandemic the appointment was done on phone and he gave me another appointment to come over to the hospital to see him one on one to check me and also know how the baby is doing.
The next appointment after that was 36weekplus and that was when he noted that I was contracting and that he said he will not want me to go into labor because of my previous surgeries he give me drugs to stop the contraction and that I should come in on the 26th against 27th and that was the longest one week ever for me.
Tuesday morning I woke up around 6am took our bags to the car around 6:30am and other things needed. We got to the hospital around 6pm and I was checked into my room where the nurses came to check my vital and take my blood samples at around 12 midnight I was still awake just couldn't sleep at all as my mind was just everywhere thinking of how the next day will be.

Dh has already told me that he doesn't want us to tell anyone including his people and my people that he will call them once I delivery to give them the goodnews. I just told my pastor only to join me in prayers.

Wednesday the D day at around 5am I had already taken my bath and waiting for the Dr to come bacause we were 2 people for CS that day and luckily for me I was the first to go in, by 7am I just decided to check NL and also remove my bumpy Tuesday picture cause some many evil thought were just coming to my mind like what if you don't make it and all that I just prayed and rebuke the voice.

The main delivery process
I was giving gown to change into and followed the nurse to the theater on getting there I saw the Dr, nurses and anesthelogy.
The Nurse then checked my vagin** and noticed that I have already shaved, but she still shaved me to remove the hair that I was not able to remove on my own, catheter was inserted to drain urine, anesthetic was administered to numb from my waist down and I was asked to lay down while I was told to move my legs at first I was able to move them but later I couldn't move them again which means that the drugs has set in, a cloth was placed above my chest which separated me from the surgical teams.
The main surgery started 7:34 n by 7:57am baby was out with serious crying, when I ask of his sex the nurse said I will be the one to tell them and he was brought to me to tell them his sex which I did and he was taken out for prepare cleaning by then I was already tired, weak and feeling very cold maybe because of the Ac or the drip that I was on just can't say Sha, the next thing I noticed is that I started shaking seriously which the Dr said it's the effect of the drugs that was giving to me.
By 8:50am the Dr was thru with me while the nurse cleaned me up to move me to another bed before moving me to my room, few minutes later my son was brought to me but I couldn't carry him, turn to see his face or even left my head up to see his face cause I was in serious pain I had to ask dh to snap and video him for me to see his face. The nurses kept coming in to tell me to get some small, me that sleep has refused to come to , the nurse had to give me injection to make me sleep and once I wake up ehh the kind of pain that I feel is out of this world, the pain is something that I can't even discribe at all.
But in all I give God the glory for everything that he has done and still doing for me and my family. I say may his name alone be highly praised forevermore in Jesus name, Amen.

I will be discharged today but my baby has jaundice and he is still under the light.
Hopefully we will all leave the hospital tomorrow by the grace of God.

My dear, if I sleep on my left, my hip will ache like there no tomorrow, but do I have a choice. I just lay small on the left and then on the right, alternating it. It comes with the package, how we go do?

My wife and our LO (though I don't know what it stands for but I understand and I'm learning) are fine.

She said she hasn't felt a kick yet but she feels the movements especially at night. I think that's okay as it is her first time.

And yeah, she's adding weight (no worries at all). Also, she has a mild swelling of the feet (I do massage them once in a while)

Birth announce and Birth story.

My EDD was May 10 but because I was opting for elective CS, I joined Team April.

January 31 after Eating one sweet porridge Yam, I noticed I felt wet. I entered the bathroom to check, immediately I pulled my underwear, a large pool of blood poured. I was rushed to the hospital where it was discovered I had a total placenta abruption.

Dr. Said she has to do an immediate Csection to save my life. I was only 25 weeks and 4 days (6.5 months) pregnant. My baby was brought out weighing 748grams.

As she laid in her isolette and the doctors not giving any hope, I cried to God, begging him to save her and pledging that I will share her testimony round the world. I said "please heal her and make her testimony draw souls to Christ."

God had mercy on us. He saved her. He kept her. He gave us a song and His words in John 11 VS 4 which was my prayer did not fall to the ground.

We were told the 1st 24 hours were crucial. The hospital where I gave birth has a low level NICU and so she had to be airlifted to another hospital. They were not sure how she will do on the flight but God kept her.

We had a tough start.
She went through:
1. 9 initial intubation trial
2. PDA(An open hole in the heart) which closed after ibruprofen therapy.
3. NEC Suspicion(perforation of the intestine because of its immaturity.
4. 8 blood transfusions
5. 41 days on the ventilator
6. We later moved to CPAP another breathing machine. A total of 43days on CPAP
7. She was moved to regular Oxygen. She didn't hold up well and went back to CPAP. She was tried again and it was ok. She is off all support.
8. Uncountable Xrays and ultrasounds
9. 2 MRIs.

God saved my baby. I totally depended on God and pleaded with him for mercy. My heart was in shambles but God gently put them together. I drew comfort from God's words and knew I could not give up. I said this bible verse everyday



" John 11 vs 4, When he heard this, Jesus said, "This sickness will not end in death. No, it is for God's glory so that God's Son may be glorified through it."

We had a great team at the NICU(Neonatal Intensive care unit) who God used to take good care of my daughter.

After 108 days, I got to take my daughter home.

It is time to tell the world about the Miracle call Eloghosa. We spent 108 day in the NICU. At discharge she weighed 3.7kg. Is God not good?

Her name means It is not difficult with God.

God is Awesome.
