As the POP exam begins today for 300 level and above, I have few precautions and tips for you:

1. Ensure you get to your exam venue on time to relax and revise your material.

2. Remember to go with your exam slip.

3. Don't feel pompous in exam hall and at the same time respect exam rules and regulations.

4. Attempt the questions you know first before the ones you don't.

5. This is a writing exam, if you don't know a question, still find a way around it and write something on it. Writing something similar is better than not writing at all.

6. Crosscheck your works before you submit.

7. Ensure you mark the attendance.

8. Check your seat well before starting. Don't implicate and don't get implicated.

9. If you are quick to finish, moderately and maturely assist your neighbor. Note, moderation and maturity.

10. And finally, pray before and after.

May the Lord lead you through.

Past Questions still available if you have not gotten. Send a private message to get them.

grin grin grin Good morning fam!

Priscy01:
One Rebecca Enobong said that Nigerians earning over N200,000 have no business running away to other countries and therefore called on the Government of Canada to reduce approval of highly skilled immigration program for Nigerians to 60%.

According to Ms Enobong, the brain drain, particularly in the medical profession will impair Nigeria's development.

Irked by the tweets, some Nigerians slammed her, calling her mad and wicked.

Hey tojued, so you're here too. grin grin

Thanks for your prompt response. I have some other questions, I hope there is no 'page 0' for this thread.

Please what's the average duration of masters program at NOUN? I really wish I could get one for 12 months. Do I need to attend lectures? Or do I self study then show up for exams and project?

I understand that they don't have masters in engineering so I want to go for masters in information technology. I don't know if I will be allowed to go this route.

Thanks for your time.
Yes I'm here smiley

I'm not very grounded in NOUN admissions and programs but their website is fairly accurate. You can check registrable courses for msc IT to be sure it's only 2 semesters (project included). If officially it's only two semesters, then you can complete in one year.

There are no lectures. It's all self study and appear for exams once a semester. Duration is individual. There's a maximum number of units you can register but no minimum. Some people conclude in prescribed 1-2 years others take forever. Also there's no general rule all departments and courses have individual guidelines.

wrong. she is wrong. she doesn't truly understand what she is saying. The Vienna convention on diplomatic relations 1961 is usually miscontrued to imply embassies are sovereign territories of the sending nation, but it is a misconception. If you read Articles 21-25 of it, which bothers on embassies, you would understand that it only relates to the inviolabilty of the territory by the host nation, it is not a secession, and can not be claimed to have a different territorial identity in any sense. and that is why giving birth in a U.S embassy would not accord the baby U. S citizen status. Matter of fact there has been precedence for this already, i think it was in kenya that a woman went into the U. S consulate and delivered in their toilet andwas pressing for her baby to accorded citizenship.

No confusion here. The country of issue is Nigeria because its issued by the Nigerian Government. The place of issue can be Ikoyi, UK, US or even Mars sef.
In addition the UK High Commission is officially Nigerian territory. A country's mission abroad is effectively its territory. That's why getting married in our commission abroad is equal to getting married in Nigeria. [s]Once you step foot in your embassy abroad, you're standing on local soil[/s]. (common misconception corrected: an embassy has special status and privileges but is still hosted on local territory).

Please has anyone noticed that International Banking (MBF843) TMA is bearing questions of Capital Investment and Financial Decision (MBF845)? Meaning you will use Capital Investment text material to answer International Banking TMA. it happened in TMA1 and now happening in TMA2.
All reports made to the school fell on futile ground. What if such costly mistake happens on the day of exam? I don't pray for such.
Please anyone with solution should kindly advice Thank you.
I noticed, and I've even gotten confused and ca no longer differentiate the two. I think the best thing is to work with the course title and not the course code, it's the course codes that have been exchanged the titles remain relevant.

Any which way I'm going to prepare for both courses so that I'll be prepared regardless of any exchange they do in the exam hall.

Talking about misrepresentation of POF, will it be wise for one to make some withdrawals after printing of bank statement? Lets say something comes up with requires some finance and you withdraw some money after printing your statement of account. Whats the implication?
https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/express-entry/documents/proof-funds.html
The funds must be available both when you apply and when (if) we issue you a permanent resident visa. You must prove to an immigration officer that you can legally access them to use to settle here when you arrive.
(and when (if) we do an ADR for your POF). Please don't tamper with your POF.

Age, marital status
It depends on the person's crs. They already have masters, depending on age and marital status there might be no need to spend extra 100k writing TEF.

Hello Family,

Thanks for this wonderful community we have. Its been a blessing.

Please my wife entered the EE pool. We have done all our ECA and IELTS, both me and her. She is the primary applicant. Now, my issue/challenge is my wife 's work experiece as a lawyer. She practised initially for about a year in a chambers until she had to fly out for child delivery. She decided against going back to the chambers because she didnt like the place. So she got a flexible job as an Insurance marketer with an insurance company and she loves what she does. Also we cannot find this new job in the NOC list. Moreover, the law skill gives more points in the CRS. Now she does some legal work by the side from time to time but sparingly. She entered the pool as a lawyer and we tried using a family friend's chambers in her work history/experience, as the one and only/current workplace. Long and short, the family friend backed out that we shouldnt use his law firm which will now mean we have to use another law firm thereby editing the earlier entry in her profile. Now my challenge is this, looking at the EE section summary, we see 'transmitted' in each row of the profile. Now does CIC take and keep in history, entry changes in the EE profile? If not, can we then edit the old workplace and put in a new one which is now a surebanker? Or CIC doesnt care about what goes on in our EE profiles not until post-ITA? Or should i just delete the profile and create a new one from scratch? Advice needed

Thanks
Oga, stop complicating matters for yourself by using false work experience. The truth is always simpler and easier.

Spend some more time on page zero of this thread so you understand how she can gain the higher marks with her law degree without any experience practicing law. Read the FAQs on page zero and follow the links collated there. Read up how other lawyers on this thread have packaged their applications.

Post madam's job duties as an insurance marketer here and ask nicely for kind-hearted experts to help you find her NOC. It is not possible for a profession not to have NOC ( I stand to be corrected but that database is just too broad)

(Or should i just delete the profile and create a new one from scratch? Advice needed) (not sure how he should go about this, pls others should add mouth)

But from their guidelines, TMA 2 starts June 27 so if there will be no gap, TMA 1 should be on till 12 midnight on June 26, 2018.
They could have left a gap if they wanted to.

My explanation is just to show you that you have no case, NOUN can defend themselves on theor actions.

Even when you're wrong and they're right, it's difficult to get them to respond. Talkless of when they have a good defense. Do you know how many people have clashing exams and the school refused to adjust timetable?

Please just do your TMAs (and all your processes with the school) on time. This is Nigeria, na who argue with oba dey tay for kneeldown.
EducationRe: National Open University Of Nigeria (NOUN) Students by Tojued: 9:08am On Jun 26, 2018
llade:
I appreciate and I have sent a mail protesting the premature closure of TMA 1 and request for it to be opened.
You have to understand that midnight has two different meanings, in army time 00:00hours and 24:00hours. Today's 00hours is yesterday's 24hours and tomorrow's 00hours is today's 24hours. This is why when setting alarm i always use 11.59 instead of 12, to prevent this confusion.

The TMA became available 00:00hours on the 5th, so it shouldn't be surprising that it closed 00:00hours on the 26th. Based on when the TMA came out we ought to have assumed that noun's midnight = 00:00hours and not 24:00hours. There's a full 24 hour difference between both times.

Now, TMA 2 is supposed to become available 00:00 hours tomorrow. The school is actually ahead of schedule by releasing it 00hours today instead of 00hours tomorrow. They've dashed us an extra day by this action.

Based on the current trend, expect the TMA to disappear at 00:00hours on the 18th of July. In other words finish up your TMAs before you sleep on the 17th.

Yes you can evaluate it with WES, just [s]ensure your transcript is translated to English just in case your institution will be using French on the transcript by a qualified translator. [/s] French is anofficial language in Canada and French docs don't need translation.

As for your language test, I think [s]writing in French will give you more scores than English test as it is not a common language, thus, Canada places high premium on it.[/s] I stand to be corrected tough! neither is more important nor less common than the other

In addition, taking both test if you can will give your scores a resounding boost. True

Typical sequence of behaviour on nairaland FSW thread (wish I could add memes)

1. Discovers thread. So there are other people on this journey?
2. Quickly asks question. I don see free agent!
3. Gets referred to page zero. Grumbles, probably insults the referrer.
4. Goes to page zero, reads the summary.
5. Comes back with question... "I've read from page zero but i still have this question...
6. Gets sent back to page zero
7. Does awoko on all the links on page zero. Starts following thread. Ah ah, this thread is rich o!
8. Masters the basics of the process. Starts answering questions. Especially faq questions. Op we love you! All the likes and thank yous are like fresh palm wine.
9. Still answers faqs, but refers asker to page zero
10. Gets frustrated. These people no dey read ni ? See how the thread is moving fast! Does a rant or a rude referral to page zero. Stops answering faqs (who likes epp sef?).
11. By now personal experience with EE process has introduced a new meaning of patience. Anger disappears and is replaced with spirit of jump and pass (if I won't answer, I'll pass rather than say the truth and offend the asker)
12. Restarts the cycle from step 10 from time to time (see how the thread is moving fast, so I won't announce my milestone on this thread?)

Disclaimer : while this cycle also describes silent readers (they haphazardly appear at any point in the cycle and disappear back, but they go through the same emotions), it does not include the 'gimme gimme gimme' crew (those who only come and ask questions and take replies but never ever give back. All their posts start with "hello efam, please... And "thank you efam. Yet if you ask them to read page zero they'll take offence.)

Have a nice week guys. And remember, PATIENCE is the most important stakeholder in this journey.

Not necessary to mention it since you're not claiming points for it. If you like you can mention, there's a point you'll be able to indicate that it wasn't evaluated. Otherwise it can stay in personal history post-ITA.

What was the outcome of your ACCA evaluation?
