Romance › Re: Love Ain't Enough by Toks2008(m): 11:02pm On Mar 30, 2017 |
Mimzyy: I have discovered that love doesn't guarantee the success of a relationship. Love cannot help you stick to one person all years round, and on the other hand, cheating isn't always a product of not loving your partner. In fact, loving someone doesn't guarantee not falling in love with someone else. Relationships work out mostly because of our head not our heart. It works out because of our emotional maturity, empathetic intelligence and self discipline because, time will come when you'll see more beautiful, handsome, romantic, intelligent, sexy, rich, curvy and God fearing people than the one you're in a relationship with.
In those times, love will not help you; self control will help you, emotional intelligence will come to your rescue and commitment will keep you going. With those characteristics, no matter how you feel for someone else, the person you're committed to will rank first in your life.
You think happily married people don't see better people than the ones they married? You think they don't feel funny sometimes? You think they don't catch feelings? They do!
But understanding that commitment is greater than feelings is the great arsenal that do destroy that impulse.
You can fall in love with anyone, but building a relationship takes absolutely more than what attracted you to them and takes more than love.
We are too fond of loving when it's convenient and sweet. We are too fond of loving when love is there but that can only last for just the first 3-6 months of the relationship. After then, you'll realise that the feelings have dropped, it's now your responsibility to make it work, not love's responsibility.
Relationships cannot be readymade. You have to build it and it's never always about love, it requires commitment and intelligence. On the long run in marriages, it's not just love that keeps them together forever, it's determination and commitment.
Everyone falls in love; it takes little or no effort to do that. But staying in love? Building a relationship? Only the strong and committed ones do that.
That's why we must find that one person and commit to that one, discipline yourself and bridle your emotions. Building a relationship is hard work, it's like building a career, It's like pursuing a dream. It's always tough, at some point it will be so bitter but you can make it work by putting your heads together, you can scale through the trying time by being focus and committed.
The kind of love that attracts two people together is not the kind of love that will keep them together. Be emotionally strong and be self disciplined.

Business › Re: CBN Introduces New FOREX Rates, Dollar Now N360 For "Invisibles" by Toks2008(m): 12:51pm On Mar 27, 2017 |
YomiYarzo: This is another scam by CBN, It is a known fact that the devaluation of the Naira in the past months has largely been as a result of speculators and round tripping with cabals behind profiting while CBN had kept quiet CBN dubiously devalued the Naira from 200 naira to a dollar using the floating FX rate policy which should be based on demand and supply but has maintained Naira to dollar rate of about 307 Naira to 1 USD stipulating that banks cannot sell with more that 20% margin which it never enforced if truly CBN is serious about strengthening the Naira, Pegging the Naira to a dollar at a particular rate should be the least of its concern it should propose economic reforms to strengthen the naira while supporting local business initiatives and projects to will increase inflow of the dollar while leaving the rates to demand and supply. Following the riot act from FG to CBN, we have seen a strengthened Naira with CBN making dollars readily available to banks and BDCs to the point where banks have become bloated having met there customer demand for USD. With improved dollar liquidity in banks, there has been a free fall of the dollar at the parallel market with rates as low as 375 naira to a dollar lately. So while Nigerians are happy that the naira would continue to gain strength possibly hoping for rates as low as low as 300 and that Naira debit cards will soon be enabled by all banks for international transactions
The CBN dubiously creeps in again pegging the naira to a dollar @ 360 at the bank, it beats me hollow
Am beginning to wonder if CBN under the current helmsman Emefiele really wants a strengthened Naira and an improved economy because it policies are not only contradicting, such policies continues to inflict economic hardship on Nigerians and it is rubbishing the economic progress made Buhari's administration. You just poured out my stand view. |

Family › Re: Why Do Things Change After Marriage? by Toks2008(m): 7:20pm On Mar 26, 2017 |
Tajbol4splend: I have seen people who claimed to be in love with themselves before marriage but you see them having a lot of disputes after getting married, I ask myself why this should be, I ask if it is still the same two people who used to do things together, who used to show love in different ways, all of a sudden at the time when the love is supposed to be at climax, they start having problems they never used to have before marriage, things then change, they then change.
Well what I think that causes this is that most people in relationships don't pay attention to necessary details about their partners.
Nairaland veterans and geniuses over to you, what do you think brings this bitterness into marriage between two people who have claimed to be lovers before their marriage The first stage of initial gragra fades off and when reality sets in..they tend to see each other in another light and this is the make or break point. I once created a thread about this. https://www.nairaland.com/2979030/3-stages-determine-outcome-romantic |

Christianity Etc › Re: Which Church Has The Highest Number Of Parishes In Nigeria? by Toks2008(m): 1:39pm On Mar 26, 2017 |
bakynes: Catholic is the most widely spread in Nigeria as for the topic ,I think we need to go to the books to know the winner to this topic but I think it's btw RCCG and Cele even though Cele doesn't have a nation wide spread
Some Cele by the river side is just with palm fronts as roofs and thick wood as pillar but it's still a branch or parish so I think the argument is btw the RCCG and Cele. Lol! funny enough I have seen some weird looking rccg branches made of planks and I wonder why....as for Cele branches with palm fronts as roofs those one plenty expecially by the river side... Celestial church and water side be like women and money |
Christianity Etc › Re: Which Church Has The Highest Number Of Parishes In Nigeria? by Toks2008(m): 1:18pm On Mar 26, 2017 |
bakynes: Some of you guys don't understand the Topic, for those saying Catholic I think you are wrong. Catholic Church is most spread church in Nigeria you can find them in all the 774 local govt of Nigeria but that doesn't make them have the highest number of branches.
RCCG on the other hand can be spread across say 600 local govt in Nigeria but those 600 local govt have nothing less than 100 per local govt do the maths that makes about 60,000 RCCG but Catholic will probably have say 10 per local govt also do the maths that's just 7740 Catholic Churches.
Please ignore the figures just letting you know the statistics I have travelling around the country.
I think with my submission we can give the award to RCCG
QED.
Thread Closed You are still mixing the words widely spread to the OP's assertion which talks about the highest number of branches or parishes... I'm not been partisan being a celestian but Celestial church takes the lead when it comes to highest number of branches while I will agree that rccg is the most widely spread. |
