A good piece you have there.

The reactions of many Nairalanders to topics has a way of 'dumbing' down other readers. You can hardly have an intellectual discourse. No analysis, no intelligent inputs, just a bunch of jobless kids fighting to display their emptiness first.

On to this matter, you are right on point. Kitchen skills, total control of your bedroom and fill your house with complete happiness. Make the man willing to be no where else but home, that's the real super woman!
And of course, the woman must make a good choice of a man. It takes two to tango!
Gbam!

Well said, though i am a strong proponent of coursthip.

Methinks there are certain things you cannot know in a few months, it's a normal human tendency to "form", we all do it.
On the first few dates we are conscious of what we do, say, and how we act. So rather marry the "formed up" version of someone why not take the time and break that formality.
What you can not know in months of courtship may never be known in years of courtship.

You are obviously not married. I did a long courtship and I can tell you that my wife and I have achieved great things together with more to come. Marriage is a great institution if you make the right choices.
I guess it's high time you guys dropped this "are you married" line...

Apparently if I have not had a marital experience I won't come to the most populous online social interactive forum to write stuffs about it.

Some nairalanders are ridiculously myopic and intellectually stunted that they lack the fundamental ability to discuss the subject matter but would rather attack the writer and this is indeed pathetic.

There is always an exception to the rule dude. some court for 100000years and could remain married for life while some court for 1day and equally enjoy marital bliss but the common denominator is the willingness for both party to make it work and it's never about the long or short courtship.

Marriage is a risk we all must be willing to take and it does not take you forever to decide on a business venture....same is marriage.

Take the risk or keep goofing. ..

You are right. But partners shouldn't rush either. I believe it's better to be late than being late. Individuals should do what is best for themsmiley
All these talks of I can't rush bla bla bla is exactly why many people remain single at over ripe ages...

I can know at least enough about you good enough to decide if I should take the risk of marring you or not in just a month.

If you want to know the persona of a potential spouse then do your due diligence by finding out about her from friends, family members, neighbors, work place and if possible, the ex...even if there could be some defamation at least you will have a clue.

What we see these days are sex starved people looking for a sex partner in the name of dating and courtship without vivid steps to be together in matrimony.

A man knows right from the first day he sees a lady if there is a good chance of marrying her so what should any lady waste her time dating a clueless guy for long while the guy is just catching his fun with her and enjoying free intimacy that should be enjoyed in marriage.

Except for the sake of fun,no reasonable courtship should be more than 3 months to a year max.

Lalasticlala I guess this is insightful enough.

To each his opinion. I don't believe in cohabiting....its like seeing all you need to see before marriage. The enthusiasm won't be there no more, nothing will be new, moreover what's the point of rushing into something you will be stuck in till God knows when? .
And that is exactly my point...What exactly does rushing mean?

Some people take all the time In the world yet still find themselves in a crazy marriage so my point is that there are some vital steps that are expedient in order to minimize mistakes.

Furthermore I guess this rush word is endemic to the unmarried people in their ripe ages.

I repeat,I don't believe any one who means business should court for even a year because due diligence holds true to assure 70% of the possibility of marital bliss while tolerance takes care of the rest.

If you like date forever. ...some things may never be known to you until you start living together as married couple.

Another round of meaningless obfuscation. How difficult is it to ask the lady and the pastor to provide their passports and all these nonsense can be laid to rest.
Is it by coincidence that a "cheap prostitute" and a pastor are traveling to the same country and staying in the same hotels at the same time?
Nigerian are weird if you tell them your governor is a thief they will reply by saying the governors of Adamawa and Gombe are also thieves just to obfuscate the main issue.
Nevertheless. ..only a vivid proof will nail the Apostle but till then we can call all these mere coincidence.

A couple living next to my house had a serious argument today. The husband was so mad at the wife for sending a message to their landlord, I don't know the content of the message but I heard the man fuming and scolding the woman and the woman in question was giving it back to him back to back. Some women will never learn, how can any sane woman test the patience of a man who is already raging like fire? What if that man picks up an object and use it on her? Thank God no blood was spilled all thanks to those who intervened.
With your mindset I believe you will have a domestic violence free marriage.

I once had this thread removed from front page by Seun and I guess it was because many people never read the contents but only judged by the title which is now modified.

Sigh... Marriage. A necessary evil.

If I were faced with the options in real time, I'd rather the philandering husband. No time for charms from the second wife.

Just wondering though, Toks2008. What type of husband do you plan to be?
Judging from my past,I have never cheated on my exes but I have not had many exes though.

The reason for that is because I always go for what I want expecially in the area of sexual endowments cos if I settle for a lady who I'm not s3xually attracted to,I may be an unfaithful husband but if I get a lady that has the endowments I want then she will beg me to cheat on her.

By the way, how much do you really need to START a business?

If we bear in mind that starting is a PHASE, it can help take off the pressure of trying to get big immediately.

For instance, what if this lady had focussed first on providing mobile catering services to nearby offices and organizations?

That could have gotten her a customer base which will provide the cashflow that will fund further expansion...and she for no lack oil.

Or what do you think?
You are so spot on.
I have an investment plan that will gulp about 15 million but today I invested about 400k in same biz which gives me an average of 3k daily but starting small has given me an idea of how it works.

RomanceWhen You Have To Choose Between A Philandering Husband Or Polygamy. by Toks2008(op):
As a lady it is so sad that no matter how you dream of getting a sexually faithful man to marry, you can never ever be sure of what to expect.

It has become so boring that most times when a woman dissolves her marriage it is mostly hinged on sexual unfaithfulness from the man and I just wonder how long this will continue.

More absurd is the fact that 90% of ladies who leave their marriages because their husbands were unfaithful usually end up with another philanderer or polygamist so why fool yourself leaving your marriage in the first place?

So i ask the ladies which one would they settle for provided these are the only options available and it is mandatory for them to marry?

1.A man who stays married to only you but philanders or

2.A sexually faithful polygamous man?

Some would rather choose to remain unmarried but you are still most likely to date a man who will fall into either of these two options.

Please save yourself the notion that since there are still faithful guys out there then you have the chance of meeting one. The best you can do to help yourself is to believe there is no sexually faithful man out there.

Any lady who hinges her marital happiness on her husband sexual faithfulness should start rehearsing how to cry....what matters is that you remain the main woman in his life and as long as he does his manly duties at home please focus on making your life and that of your child (ren) better. This is one of the vital secrets to marital longevity.

Many ladies are in the psycaltry as i write this all because of heartbreak and this makes me wonder if there are no better things to achieve in life than killing yourself over an inconsequential philanderer or polygamist.

Many ladies will not like this but 99% of married ladies are either married to option 1 or 2 and if you are not ready for the high probability of marrying either of the two options then don't bother getting married.

I don't know if this is factual enough.

Over to the ladies.

Am proud to be a celestial,i have a wrong perception about the church before but i have seen the difference now,HALLELUJAH,It is a church with unique and incomparable format of worship.
That format of worship is out of this world...

A total worship that brings down the presence of God...when I got back to the church I found it difficult doing that kneeling down to worship God 7 good times before sermon and I was kinda complaining but the spirit of God wispered to me that there is no better way to worship God cos that is the mode of worship in heaven...

Hmm to some extent you are right sir but the church I attend only give those outsiders that come in mofty money, most times 2k or so....I'm always sad whenever I see a particular twin at church, they lost their dad to accident and the church has refused to help these kids..They could not take waec last year cos of money, this is really common in celestial.I lived in a celestial church for four years, slept on bare floor coupled with mosquito,no one was willing to take me in...i thought celestial church is about love
Wow! I love your dp...

Anyways as I wrote,Celestial church or not, some churches are stingy but if you are fortunate to be in a good church that has empathy you will have a different story to tell.

Today my church gave 50k each to 10 widows snd this is a periodic act...many more philanthropic acts are carried out by my church...in fact C.C.C Genesis model international outreach is different from the traditional Celestial church many people know.

Sir,it seems you'v been in celestial church for long, can I ask a question maybe you can enlighten me and I will stop feeling bad.Why is it that celestians this days find it hard to help widows and the needy from their church rather they prefer to give alms to outsiders that come to church for help.
I was born in celestial 20years ago and I wasn't blind to the contributions of my dad towards the growth of my church before his death...After his death, they only paid us a visit once and that was it,despite that we didn't change church.
I went through hell while at school ams thank God I graduated well and great. Two weeks ago,I wrote to my church about help concerning my final clearance, certificate and convocation fee which is not up to 30k and I told them how much I have been able to raise as a struggling little girl.Mind you,I wrote to them first in january but didn't get any reply.Yet,they will put down tray on Sunday to collect money for the needy, who are they giving the money to exactly??.
i'm not pained as I believe there is always a way out of every tunnel but it is a case of the god that can't save me should leave me the way I am.Most times,I just feel like leaving the church.
Can u explain what I am not getting to me?.Or financial assistance is a taboo in celestial?

Well the issue of stinginess is not endemic to celestial church as I have had my bitter experience with redeem and christembassy years back.

I actually left celestial church for over 25years cos I was not just OK with their mode of doing things like the use of funny things to pray like coconut, egg, river bathing and so on despite their explanation.

I joined back last year June after I attended a totally different Celestial church called Genesis model international outreach which is also a celestial church with a difference...

Highly philanthropic

No use of funny things to pray

No river bathing

Just fasting and prayer.

If indeed he was truly a Christian (which I actually doubt) then the fact that he was a polygamist already made him unsuited for playing any sort of ministerial role. How could a man with 34 wives stand on a pulpit before a congregation and honestly expect to command respect? It is obvious that from the life he led he lacked the discipline to control his sexual libido. This is one of the big problems causing scandals in the Church today. Some men who are slaves to what is in between their legs have taken it upon themselves to be called Men of God, and it is discrediting Christianity.
Polygamy is not a sin.

Paul ADMONISHES deacons and G oversears to be husband of one wife but polygamy was never specifically taged a sin.

Interesting and enlightening I must say. What are your biblical justifications for your white garment and going without shoes even on the road?
The incense and mode of worship is done according to the traditional mode of worshiping God which I call A class.

The none wearing of shoes is just a unique identity and the use of symbolic things to pray like coconut water, candles are traditional beliefs that the new movement that I belong to is doing away with.
