helinues: Claimed victory when INEC are yet to make official declaration.
Pdp na learner
Have you heard of the word Electronic transmission of results?
YES it is always the best to let INEC announce but all the agents already know the results from various units and these results have been transmitted electronically.
'The issue here is right in our constitution, as APC we promised not to discriminate, but to be fair and just' - Prof Doknan Sheni APC Chieftain and former Vice Chancellor, Plateau State University on the the party's choice of a muslim/muslim presidential ticket. pic.twitter.com/eY743YL7wA
LegendHero: If he is not emotionally intelligent, he would have picked a Christian Northerner as vice and people like you would have celebrated his impending loss.
He is bold and audacious, something most of the lily liveried politician will never dare to make.
Currently, the only thing that will stop Tinubu from winning next year election is two things:
—Kwakwanso stepping down for Atiku
—Peter Obi stepping down for Atiku.
If none of the above fail to happen, Tinubu is your next president because he already forgo the Northern Christian votes in his calculation before reaching this conclusion of his. They don’t even vote APC normally before so all this threat is just for aesthetics.
So in your mind there are no Christians in the north and there are also no northern Christian states like Jos, Sokoto, Adamawa where we have large number of Christian muslims.
Guy listen well.. APC is clearly not counting on free and fair election cos they already know they stand no chance.
My advice to other parties is to be smart and vigilant.
It is better to prevent rigging than to fight it in court when the rigger is already in power L.
BluntCrazeMan: Even if senate passes an independent bill, the house of representatives must agree to the bill, and then, the both houses would pass the consensus bill to the Executive to also agree and accent to it before it becomes a law. So, don't come here to tell me that the Senate passed a Bill, and you start to rejoice about it. What about the response of the house of representatives.?? .. Then, in the Bill you were talking about, it was not an independent bill. It is a bill that is part of the Constitution Amendment. And the process is even longer. After the Senate and the House of Representatives finished passing the bills and agreeing on a consensus,, the bills are passed to the various states houses of assemblies. After which the Senate and the House of Representatives gather the bills again before passing to the Executive. And all these must happen before the expiration of this current Legislative regime,, if not, the next regime of legislature would start the whole processes all over again,, from the very beginning. .. So, with the situation on things at the moment, there is nothing like independent Candidacy anywhere in Nigeria yet. .. Cc.. Fergie001
fergie001: Why are you arguing this) I opened the thread here on nairaland and I am telling you how Constitutional Amendments are done.
None has been signed because only Abia State has returned their votes. I am telling you and I am 101% sure of what I am telling you. That link you shared initially was wrong. Why did they vote for it again from your first link on March 1, 2022 if the President signed in 2018?
GreyLaw: Keyamo kept fighting until he got a political post in Nigeria's government. Then he lost his voice. The man, just like every other person looting Nigeria dry, is a criminal. He has eaten full and has now forgotten equity.
They are men with no conscience and can sell their souls for money.
Dont mind him.
Shameless criminal.
His family and wife must be shaking their head right now.
He has brought everlasting shame to his lineage.
Odensin. Before he parleyed with the government he was sane but now he is acting like a possessed human being.
It was during the Constitutional Amendment. That the Senate passes it doesn't make it law. For the independent candidacy to become law, two-thirds majority of both the Senate and House of Reps must independently assent.
Then it is sent to the 36 States & FCT, of which at least 24 States must say YES to it. It is now returned to the National Assembly who forwards same to the President. His signature makes it law.
The Senate and House of Reps independently assented to it, and it was sent to the States. That's where it is now, as only Abia State has said YES and returned same to the National Assembly.
BluntCrazeMan: .. PLEASE BRO.. WHERE EXACTLY IS THE PROVISION FOR INDEPENDENT CANDIDACY IN OUR CONSTITUTION.?? JUST QUOTE THE SECTION PLEASE .. Cc. Fergie001
Like seriously! You guys are still on this matter.
Empiree: why are you crying over Muslim-Muslim ticket?. What name of you don't understand is that, Lucas and state elections are the most important election to citizens not presidential election
casualobserver: You post on politics like a man devoid of logical reasoning . I remmember you waffling on about Osinbajo…how did that turn out?
Let me break it down to you:
In the north, out of of over 100m people, only 10m are Christians
In the south, the Christian strongholds of SE and SS are largely opposition territory.
In the SW, 1) religion is less of an issue 2) half of yorubas are Muslims and many like yourself were probably not going to vote for him anyway.
So tell us wxactly how the Christian votes he will lose in the SW ( yes he will lose some) will make any significant difference?
You really need to stop posting out of emotion and engage your faculties.
I keep saying people who don’t matter like to talk like they matter. This election is about Northern voters, they are Muslims. The opposition votes have been split!!!! The Northern Muslims will determine who wins the election not Christians who were never going to vote for Tinubu or SW Christians, many of whom have vested interests in APC!
Is Osinbajo and all his appointees that benefited from him going to vote for Atiku or Obi? Exactly!!!!!
They say Jagaban is smart and I agree in its entirety because he has just outsmarted himself.
He has called the bluff of all Nigerian Christians, he has drummed home clearly that SS n SE are not relevant and he has even dared many Northern Christians residing in the north and he just told over 60Million Nigeria Christians that they are bunch of inconsequential citizens.
A Muslim-Muslim ticket is an insult to fairness, equity and justice. A total disregard for the unity of our nation at a time when tension is at its peak, an insensitive move, a pungent and odoriferous impunity of the worst kind.
A clear pointer that Tinubu does not believe in one Nigeria, a clear indication that he is only a frustrated desperado who will stop at nothing in the bid to achieve his aim even if he has to tow the path of devisiveness.
One tends to wonder if there is no competent northern Christian like Dalung to create a balance.
This move is a miscalculated one, Borno is already an APC state and he wrongly calculated that fielding another Muslim will gamer support from the north but unfortunately, the northerners are not fools, they can see that it is only a desperate move which will be counter productive for him.
Tinubu has finally outdone himself. Even rigging won't help him.
Some urchins usually call BAT the unifier, the Bridge builder but now we have seen his true colors.
He is a desperate power hungry man who cares less about Nigeria unity

ArewaNorth: I'm strong supporter of Tinubu Presidential aspirations. I started this after Buhari won second term. Some people need to ponder well and understand that 2023 is a two horse race contest. Muslim Northerners are open to both Tinubu and Atiku. Should Atiku win the illusionary suspense of Islamization and Fulanization agenda will terrorise the peace of some people for more years. However, if Tinubu wins it is a big boost for Nigerian Muslims and an advantage to Southern Nigerians agitation for power shift. In reality, religious identity of a leader has never helped a common man in Nigeria but few group of religious scammers. How in earth has Islam benefitted from Buhari Govt? More Muslims are being massacred, butchered and retired to IDP camps under him and he is watching helplessly doing nothing about it. Nobody can show a single benefit that Muslims gain from Buhari regime.
Stop this pettiness and think with your brain.
We fvkng know all you wrote but any logical person will condemn in strong terms a Muslim Muslim ticket or a Christian Christian ticket.
I hate it when people lose their brains in the bid to support their choice.
You can still go ahead and support him but be reasonable to condemn the obvious.
The executive arm have had a balanced representation of our multi religious group in a country where we have a balanced number of Christians and Muslims.
Only a clueless, foolish and desperate candidate will do what Tinubu just did.
He has shown that he does not care about oneness, equity and fairness... All he cares about is his ambition and will desperately do whatever it takes to get there.
