A figure head that we were told that will handle the economy while bubu handles security? While making those promises why did he tell us that he only going to be a figure head? Guy i just stated facts. Leave all those apointments, his decisions will still be subject to approval by his principal. |

Some principal dont even see them as relevant except to send on errands. The office of the vice president is as important as the president makes it. Buhari actually magnified the relevance of osinbajo by making him acting president and that was when he distinguished himself as an independent mind capable of making daring decisions. So it is expected for many ignoramus to ascribe the incompetence of a president to his vice but knowledgeable people understand the constitutional limitation of a vice. |

Reno just spoke like a slow poke.
I just lost all respect for him.
It is preposterous to equate Prof Yemi Osinbajo’s intention to run for presidency as Betrayal. It is uttter cluelessness to even reason in that direction.
Is Nigeria a commodity that should ne traded for favors? Arrant rubbish. Please stop reasoning this way cos it is appalling.
Tinubu is smart but he has too many hindrances cos he is seen as a symbol of corruption with his previous indictment as bag man for drug related case in the past, the lingering case of alpha beta and so on.
We need a man that has a clean slate, a technocrat and a younger man with a clean bill of health cos Tinubu is obviously not ok health wise and he even confirmed it himself when he said his health issue does not impair his ability to rule but do we want another sickling leader? GOD is the ultimate giver of life but lets be reasonable,
Osinbajo has the first hand experience of being a president as he has proved this beyond any doubt when he was the acting president.
He knows the current situation more than any other candidate and you foolishly want him to leave without showing interest just to say thank you to Tinubu.
Abeg no talk that nonsense again.
Even the APC power brokers know by now that an Osinbajo ticket is a guaranty win for APC and a Tinubu ticket is an autimatic win for PDP.

DontBullshitMe: If he couldn't influence his boss to have implemented these policies then he failed as a VP.
Theoretical promises. Little practicability.
What I expected of this man now is to safely retire to his hometown in Ogun state and then begin to grant interviews to expose the rot of governance that has persisted for so long in that Aso Rock.
If truly he had what it takes to fix this country, why didn't we see any quality semblance of development throughout his tenure as VP and almost a year he enjoyed as acting President.
Again. This man is a fraud. Another ignoramus |

M1Garand: Nonsense talk... How can you say without Osibanjo who is Tinubu. Was Osibanjo there during the NADECO struggle or was he there when Tinubu was fighting Obj's impunity left right center. Osibanjo wasn't even the most prominent of the cabinet. Would you have known Osibanjo without Jagaban putting him down as VP? Tinubu might be anything but it's this same element of betrayal we have as Nigerians that makes us not trust one another. Because the Nigerian you trust with your life can simply betray you tomorrow it's that easy. It is preposterous to equate Yemi Osinbajo intention to run for presidency as Betrayal. It is uttter cluelessness to even reason in that direction. Is Nigeria a commodity that should ne traded for favors? Arrant rubbish. Please stop reasoning this way cos it is appalling. And Yes Tinubu was not seen as competent cos of Nadeco bit because he transformed lagos and that is the basis for my comment "Without Osinbajo as well as the brilliant minds that made up the Lagos state economic advisory board for the 8 years Tinubu was governor. there wont be any change in Lagos. Tinubu is smart but he has too many hindrances cos he is seen as a symbol of corruption with his previous indictment as bag man for drug related case in the past, the lingering case of alpha beta and so on. perambulator: Osinbajo’s candidacy is dead on arrival. He may not even declare, forget what you read in the papers by his sychophants urging him to run, I know for a fact that he knows he cannot win a primary unless he is a consensus candidate. He will be embarrassed in a primary contest with Tinubu and Amaechi. Consensus can tear the party apart, why would Buhari risk tearing the party apart for someone who has not earned the right to contest and contributed nothing to the formation of the party? Common sense would tell people that If Buhari is not supporting Tinubu, he will not add further humiliation by suppprting his protégée. If Buhari is picking a consensus candidate, it will be Amaechi or Fayemi!
The writing is in the wall for Osinbajo, his political naivety has put him in no man’s land. Fayemi wants to be president but you don’t see him encouraging his supporters or creating proxy support groups because he has been in politics long enough to know when the odds are stacked against you, you keep quiet. I can give you this guarantee. If Tinubu doesn’t get the ticket and Amaechi doesn’t get the ticket, Osinbajo will not be the compromise candidate. It will likely go to the man who just kept quiet….Fayemi. This is a trend in Nigerian politics, Fayemi is a political scientist a ph.D holder in political science, he knows the game as a student of Nigerian politics, he knows all leading aspirants tend to knock themselves out and the eventual winner is selected be it Balewa, shagari, Obasanjo, Yaradua Buhari. If Tinubu/Amaechi don’t get the ticket and for some reason the they insist the ticket must come to SW, it will fall on Fayemi not Osinbajo because Osinbajo would have created too much bad blood!!!! The Tinubu camp will never suppprt Osinbajo after his betrayal and like it or not APC need the Tinubu camp onboard. APC needs Tinubu, APC needs Amaechi, APc needs Fayemi, APC don’t need Osinbajo…..he is the most dispensable of the contenders, I.e the one you least need to keep happy!!!! Bla bla Bla bla |

That’s the hallmark of leadership. Which talents has Osinbajo put forward? I know you will pull that card. Unfortunately Nigeria needs a technocrat at this point in time. |

Nwodosis: Without Tinubu, who's Osibade? What stops him from seeking blessings from Tinibu? Now this how he's going to thank Tinibu. If this is how the Yorubas love themselves, then I prefer how the Igbos hate themselves. Without osinbajo, who is Tinubu? Osibanjo was one of the advisory council that transformed Lagos state. Yes Tinubu sure knows how to pick good brains but the fact that he recommended osinbajo means he is good and capable but Nigeria is not a commodity to be traded for a good will. |

The world awaits, Nigeria awaits, the host of heaven awaits the chosen one to declare his interest.
On the day he declares, the land of Nigeria will rejoice, the world will nod in unison and the host of heaven will endorse him as the next president of the most populous black nation on earth.
Clear road for the man wey sabi.

Amerengues2: To start with, I am wondering why politicians deploy the tactics of a coach sometimes where you will wait on the opponent's coach to make a substitution before making yours just to know what next to do.
However, I am hopeful that Osinbajo is taking his time to make the correct decision. It appears he doesn't want to be left in the mix.
Perhaps, the rumour between Osinbajo and Amaechi might be real- finding each other a threatening opponents considering they are both close to Buhari.
Also, in saner climes, if you have spent 7 years as a VP in a failed administration, you might just be booed of you want to contest as the president. However, it's different here!
It appears Osinbajo' fan base keeps increasing and this might lend credence to the fact that he is indeed a good and perspicacious leader we need.
Then I ask the question, which is the problem of this country, the POSITION or INDIVIDUAL? You still dont understand the constitutional role of a VP. If Osinbajo was never an acting president the story would have been different but we saw what he did when he was the acting vice president (dont ask me, google is your friend) He is the most qualified and the best among the terrible options. He is worth a try. |

eldoradoxx: It is really very shameful that the South West has a decent technocrat, very educated, urbane and generally acceptable younger leader in Prof. Yemi Osinbanjo but attempting to copy the mumu of the North in 2015 in bringing Buhari by forcing the choice of one old tired Tinubu as the best option from the West for President of Nigeria. Well if the West can't get a quality material other than Tinubu that is only acceptable by the corrupt Northern leaders that have held their people in total bondage, we from the South South have an Amechi to come to the rescue. Tinubu will never ever be Nigeria president. Osinbajo is the choosing one. I will run an online campaign for him as i have been doing but more than ever before. He is the best man for the job. Those spewing ignorance like this post have no clue of the role of a VP so they should be ignored. Adejuwonhis: People be calling a failure, someone who can’t stand up for his people for 8 years, this guys have failed us let’s stand up and vote not along ethnic or religious line let’s vote for The Who with the master plan. Man of integrity indeed Even APC power brokers know that choosing Tinubu is automatic death to APC and only an Osibanjo ticket will bring victory to APC. IF they want to dare let them choose Tinubu. Osinbajo is the man Nigerians want.
