Actually bro, someone pay for those bills and thats the u.k govt via heavy taxation on its citizens.
Health care is virtually free in europe because 40-60% of its citizens' income goes to tax, so the doctor do not need to think of possible default when treating a patient because he knows the govt will pay.
Your doctors dont pay for ur free treatment from their pocket, get ur facts right.
For us at home, instead of cursing doctors lets work towards a universal health coverage that will ensure every john doe receives free emergency treatment when in dire need irrespective of location.

• Have you received clotting factor concentrates for hemophilia or other clotting disorders?

7. You will be turned away for a year if you have had sex with:

• A person who has HIV infection or AIDS

• A prostitute

• A person who currently or previously used intravenous drugs

• For women: a man who has had sex with another man

• A person receiving clotting factor concentrates

8. You have been treated in the past year for syphilis or gonorrhea, received a blood transfusion, experienced an accidental needle stick injury or received a skin or bone graft or a tissue or organ transplant.

9. You have been an inmate at a correctional institution or been incarcerated for more than 72 consecutive hours during the previous 12 months

10. You will be turned away if:

• You have a history of viral hepatitis after age 10.

• You have ever tested (+) for HBsAg.

• You have a history of close contact with someone who has viral hepatitis

• You received a blood transfusion in the last 12 months.

10. You may be denied if you got a tattoo or body piercing within the last 12 months

11. You have traveled to a malaria endemic area in the last year.

nnedozie22: Circumcision can be done without cutting with the use of "PLASTIC BELL" that is attached to the phimosis which falls off after sometime. There is no risk of bleeding or infection.

plastibell is one of the methods used in circumcision and is the commonest method in our modern hospitals. The plastibell ring is tied around the rim of the skin attached to the glans while the remaining part of the foreskin is trimmed off. Its prefarable because the cup like ring (plastibell) protects the glans during the procedure and reduces the use of scissors on the glans.
its not wise to leave the foreskin behind, it carries the risk of being a focus of infection to the boy and what falls off few days later( with the help of the ring) is the remaining skin attached to the glans.

And if the board of directors of a business decide to use the company's profits to buy the MD/CEO a jet, they are within their rights. Any person who doesn't like it should cease contributing to that particular church company's profits by ending his attendance at its Sunday seminars and other gatherings, or raise the issue at shareholders meetings.

Actually bro, churches are not private companies, they are registered as charity organisations- reason why they are exempted from paying taxes. Their main source of funding is via donations from registered members or the public. Also, they are not expected to declare profit instead they are to give account of judicious use of funds towards various projects or other charity works. The members of the board of trustees are not to dip indiscriminately into the charity purse or enrich themselves from the charity's funds (read about charity commission and the king's trust mininstries as a case study).
If pastors want to run churches like a business enterprise , then they should go back to CAC and register their corporation properly.

This article sounds like sour grapes to me. I know some nairalanders that are quick to post favourable international statistics about nigeria on nairaland but cry foul whenever they read the negative reports. Isn't it the same international reports that said nigeria is among the top emerging global economies, or that nigeria will be among the top 20 economies by 2020, or that acknowledged nigeria has one of the fastest growing middleclass with a gdp prediction of 14% by 2030. Lets stop behaving like sore losers but rather look inwards and learn form the likes of china, brazil, UAE, vietnam, turkey and even angola. These were once struggling economies like naija but today they are success stories.
I always say i dont need T.I to tell me nigeria is corrupt or UNDP to tell me there's poverty in the land, neither do I need an IMF report for me to know nigeria is emerging as a powerful economy. When i see improvement in the quality of lives of nigerians, i will know. My own local indicators will determine that.
As for the western world, its now clear to all that they are not immune to crisis but we can also witness the zeal being used to tackle the 4 yr old economic problem, unlike here where people are still looking for whom to blame for our 40 yr old economic woes.

well, there's a way out, the constitution of america do not allow any state to secede, the american civil war proves this. USA is a federation not a confederation(each state lost its sovereignty when it chose to join the union), but it allows for renunciation of citizenship,so whoever is not happy with obama can renouce his citizenship and can then move to mexico, guatemala or better still china.

Issue of secessioin is not new in america. texas with their oil money has always believed they don't need u.s. Alaska is another state whose citizens are uncomfortable with the present state of union. However secession will not come about with 25,000 signatures, it will most likely take a refenrendum by citizens of the respective states with a clear majority(75% of voters)advocating for secession.
U.S is not alone in this,other western nations with loose conferedation union like U.K and canada are also embroiled in secession issues. The people of scotland hopes they discover oil in north sea and then declare their independence while the region of quebec in canada has had 2 failed attempt at secession.
However, anywhere in the world a region should be allowed to secede from a country if a clear majority wants it. Two can't walk together except they agree.

However, the 13th century thing looks dubious to me, i guess these people were slaves smuggled into the americas after the slave trade had been outlawed in the nineteenth century. Our relationship with people of lower social class/status should not be based on prejudice or stereotype rather it should be on trust n responsibility and if they've done enough to earn both then we should be willing to extend privileges to them. Giving up on so called social privileges is never easy but it takes a man of large heart, deep insight to life and good sense of moral judgement to know that sharing these things with others does not make you a lesser person and takes nothing away from u.
