Hi @Tyconcepts,

I actually had a somewhat similar case. Had to have a Csection after being induced and going through labour for almost 10hours with painful contractions every minute and an undilated cervix. Baby was too big (came out at 3.5kg) for my pelvis, cervix very closed and high up and unresponsive to the induction. Eventually baby's heart rate started to drop and then I was wheeled to the theatre. It was painful, especially the spinal block/epidural but quick. Over in 40 minutes. Baby is healthy and thriving beautifully and I've already attempted my first walk after surgery.

So don't worry too much about it, book your section and have faith that God would see you through.

All the best ma'am

tyconcepts:

Yes EDD was 27th September....He mentioned induction during my last ANC so I tot that was what he would carry out today but after checking me via a scan and also after trying to do a membrane sweep which he couldn't do coz according to him my cervix is tightly closed, he said chances are that the induction would fail so he wouldn't advise it further.

Hi Shelly, please where did you get the step down from?

shelly23:
I have, same on for both kids sef (4yrs apart). You'll need to buy a step down (I think that's what it's called) to use it though.

To all the experienced gurus in the house... I could use your help please.

So, I'm 36wks, 5 days gone and I've not been feeling very well today. In the morning it was extreme heat, I had to suck on ice cubes to cool down. Now it's fever, chills andheavy breathing My body hurts and I've got cramps in my lower belly that's been coming and going. I feel really heavy and my legs and tummy hurt especially when I'm on my feet.

Has anyone experienced this, should I be worried? Labour signs??

Hei people, coming to you life and direct from Houston, after a gruelling long journey and stop and check process at POE, but Oluwa was involved. So here goes my experience at POE.

I flew BA, journey be looooooong, @firsttymum be prepared. I'd requested the wheel chair service so they picked us up (me and my mum) and wheeled us straight through to a CBP (what does that mean anyway?)

The CBP of was a nice enough man, at least he said hello with a smile and asked how I was until he saw my bulging stomach, and then his countenance changed. It was the usual questions of what are you here for, what do you do, how much do you have, bla bla bla.... Then he clears my mum and sends me off for secondary inspection, where they asked the same questions (rolling my eyes). Then the CBP goes 'you filled on your form that you where going to NewYork, why are you here? And I said I'm here cos my priorities changed as soon as I realised I was pregnant, and btw I had notified the embassy before they issued the visa that although I had applied to go an vacation, plans had changed since I got pregnant. (I'd used Dropbox). I said all of this in one breath without letting the guy get a word in, I even had a sharp pain in my back when I was done talking. Dude just said okay and gave me my passport back and said I could go.
Meanwhile my poor mama was praying outside, almost wetting her pants cos I'd been in there for over an hour, and she was scared they were about to send me back, but as I said Oluwa was involved and I was confident that they had nothing on me. They didn't even ask for any documents.
They then sent us to some other place cos we had over 10k and then to Agric where another CBP first of all threatened to break our padlocks with some big assed pliers that looked more like a weapon, until I jumped up from the wheel chair screaming at her to stop. We used money to buy the things na. I got the keys out and opened them, she ransacked and scattered and then I think felt a little guilty cos she packed it all back and zipped it up herself and then they let us go.

All of these took just over a couple of hours, a complet waste of time, but I thank God cos it could have been worse.

Now I rest and await my first appointment on Monday. I've gone and booked two appointments, one with Dr Amajoh at Methodist sugar land, and the famous Dr Ezekiel at oakbend, now praying for God to point me in the right direction.

Gosh! Pardon me guys, I'm not a good story teller, and as you can see not the most organised one as well. I'm just glad I got through okay.

Cheers people.... Bleep

You have indeed... Thanks a bunch @favouredmum and @Nasadiva

favouredmum:

In other news, how was Dr Ezekiel? Is the hype of her services on point, and what's her pricing like, and do you have a total package for both hospital, Dr, ped, labs... Etc

Sorry for the 20.20 questions, I'm currently enroute Houston and I'm still in the process of deciding whether to switch from Methodist to oakbend

Oakbend doesn't have a total package. One is billed separately by each physician.
Trust me, you would love doctor ezekiel. I was charged 1900 for VD (scan inclusive) and she charged sumone I know 2500 for CS. As for tests, she wld accept all ur blood work from Nigeria but u wld do jst a few over dere which cost $120. Also ensure you do a HIV test in naija in ur 3rd trimester b4 leaving naija. Dat wld save u some extra cost.
As for the pediatrician and blood work after birth, you would be charged separately which shd cost abt $336 and $155 respectively for no complications. Hope I have been able to answer ur questions.

Oi! The only lunatic behaviour is your attack on a new mum sharing her joy. What even brought you here this early. Talking to someone about getting a life. Why don't you take your own advise, getouttahere and go pretend to be relevant somewhere else. Idiat!!!

Yea I promise to give an update on Dr Ezekiel price. But b4 I do that make I throw *vexation* on 9ja doctors. All my scan I did in 9ja by two diff Drs indicated I am expecting a baby girl, I am done shopping for my girl as a sharp mum. When the issue of corner kick prick came up I laughed and looked the other way as it was none of my biz, and all of a sudden I saw my doctor today for my scan WOLAAAA, she said "that's a very big ball". It didn't mk sense to me at first until she asked do you have a name for him already, and i said for her u mean? She looked up and asked do u think u are expecting a girl? I replied that's what all my scan said. She flipped through my file for the scan I came with and laughed out loud. She turned the scan monitor and showed me what looks obviously like balls and prick!
Who do I believe? Can we go back and discuss that corner kick prick again grin grin shocked : shocked

@jellymom I beg to differ. Her complaints are valid. There's no sugar coating this. It's pure domestic violence that's gone on for sometime, worse still whilst she was pregnant... Like what kind of man does that?!!? I thinks it's most unrealistic to expect that she'd do the same things she did as at when they were single to now that she's with child. Going through the 40 weeks of pregnancy is not beans and then the responsibility of taking care of a vulnerable child that's totally dependent on you for everything takes it toll on a woman, and it only takes an understanding husband to see her through it. She needs love and attention not constant battering and nagging. No way hosay!!!!
I agree that her saying she wants to rent out the husband is trivialising the issue but it's definitely not one to be ignored or swept under the carpet nor taken lightly because we all know - not necessarily from experience that domestic violence kills emotionally and sometimes physically too. So please be empathetic in your advise and put yourself in her shoes.

Meeeeen babes it's obviously not a safe environment for you nor an ideal one for your child, and it's no longer just about you. You need to consider the well being of your child. Please take her and go to your mother. You need to tell her what's going on and she'll be in the best position to tell you how to carry on. Looks to me like your husband is taking advantage of the age difference between you two. No one should be made to go through what you're going through in the name of marriage. Please do something and do it quick before it gets any worse. Like I said it's no longer just about you. I pray God sees you through
