Marriage is overhyped. Many single women would have been perfectly happy if not for busybodies like you guys looking down on them and making them feel inadequate. Its not by force you must marry, if the woman herself is not complaining then save your pity for someone who needs it. There's plenty of married people who are complete miserable. 8. Associated family misfortune: Most times things happen that even the victims lack any logical explanations for. I have seen very beautiful ladies who are stressfully aging without husbands. I was amazed recently when a met woman, a manager of no mean repute. I greeted her as I would any married woman and admired her diligence. On another occasion, she was with a young boy who she was assisting to settle some scuffles. I stopped short of asking if he is her son. I had very often imagined that the husband must be favored to have a lady so beautiful, hardworking and respectful. One day it happened that I was with a relation who is an acquaintance of the lady in question and I was innocently reciting my imaginations/observations about her. My recitations were cut short when that my relation said, “beautiful yes, hardworking yes, respectful yes, faithful yes, trust worthy yes but she is not married and she is in her mid 30s”. I did some investigations and discovered that she was not alone in this condition. In my neighborhood, there are many just like her whereas I have seen many ugly ladies getting married. Years ago, I knew a lady with a completely withered left leg who was rumored to be engaged to handsome dude who adores her. We lived in the same Hall at the Uni. She got married few months after to everybody’s amazement.
I did another investigation to find out the possible reasons for this anomaly. In no particular order (since my investigation was not duly scientific) top ten reasons for this anomaly

1.History of too many dates: a lady who can barely take few steps on the street without guys identifying her with statements like, “I know this gurl we dated for 2months”
2.Temperament: very abusive, descends on anybody with vituperations on the slightest provocation
3.Religious fanatism: Female workers in some Churches (with Presiding Senior Prophets) hardly get married. They burn out their youthfulness and vigor in such places
4.Too selective: One of my correspondences had rejected sixteen suitors when she was between 22 and 26 years old. In fact, she had actually snubbed so many ‘greetings’ considered too friendly.” He is short, black, big headed, has an old modeled car and what will friends say when they see me with this kind of guy”
5.Doctrines: Some Nigerian GOs are wicked. They have successfully captured and imprisoned many of their female followers with doctrines of thou shall not marry somebody who is not our member.
6.The Osu system: This is a serious impediment especially in parts of Anambra and Imo States. Some Bishops in Roman Catholic and Anglican had made efforts in cutting the wings of this tradition. I am not sure the campaign is sustained
7.Overbearing Parental control: Most parents are impossible. They reject their daughters suitors with flimsy excuses like “he is not rich, he is not from our State, tribe and Church”

9.Location: An educated lady in the midst of riff-raffs will struggle to choose among the proposing village champions. Some of my correspondences have actually lived at places where suitable gentlemen are scarce or locations where they are barely noticed
10.Job specification: tasking- marketing jobs, jobs which barely give her time for herself banking, medical jobs, workers in some new generation churches. Ladies in the entertainment industry suffer from ill-perception by the society
