10% of earned money is not Tithe and January salary submitted 100% is not first fruit. Anybody who gave those thinking he gave tithe and first fruit is rewriting the Bible. Both firstfruits and tithe were not money. There is nothing wrong with a student giving any ℅ of his pocket money to Church provided he/she wasn't coerced, intimidated and forced by way of illegal tithe Registers where those whose names are not found in it are 'ostracized'. Jesus (a priest of the order of Melchizedek) and his Apostles some of whom were from the true tribe of Levites did not demand or take tithe from Christians. Fake Levites are not just coercing people into it, but have made tithe laws to their taste. Any student, worker or wage earner who gave any % of money to a Church (a place where Christians gather for meetings) gave an offering. |

Nodogragra4me:Mt 23:23 is not an admonition on Christian tithe. It was addressed to Pharisees (Jews) who were under the law. Besides, it was still on Jewish tithe of farm produce (Cummins, mint, grains e.t.c). Heb 7:8 like most of the book of Hebrews, recalled the history of Israel and the persuasion to accept Jesus as the fulfilment of the laws. It is was not addressed to greeks and gentiles who had no business with all Jewish laws. If you say you gave 10% of your money earnings as tithe, you have no Bible-Christian justification for that. Money was not used as tithe in the Hebrew laws assuming you wanted to practice Hebrew laws. If it is Christianity you practice then you should know that not all the things in the Bible you are to do. Some especially from the old testament through the acts at Jerusalem during the time of Jesus are purely Jewish traditions and such stories. A 10% of your financial earnings given to a Church is not tithe, it is offering. In fact, it doesn't matter what percentage you gave, your cheerfulness in giving is what matters and the blessings of God meets your neigbours who gave 1% or the neighbour who gave 20% as well. Don't massage your ego on righteousness, that your are obeying the Hebrew tithe laws. You have not met the demands which I don't think you know. The Jewish tithe was on crops. The Jewish tithe is meant for the Temple at Jerusalem There is a tithe break in some farm seasons. People with large harvest, that can't transport the tithe, sell them and buy back the crops on getting to Jerusalem. The Jews also ate the tithe with family members and the poor neighbours in some seasons. The Levites were in the picture because they were not supposed to be given an inheritance among the tribes Abraham tithed only once and it was spoils of war. Jacob promised if some conditions were met, to tithe his earnings (a cattle rearer) but there was no record he did. So say the truth, are you practicing the Jewish tithe laws? Or the vision of a man of gods who is a fake levite. Above all, Jesus didn't collect tithe from his followers. Peter, Paul and other Apostles who were the founding fathers of the early Church didn't talk about tithe and no record they emphasized on tithe or took tithes in the Churches they presided. The present crop of Prosperity and money Preachers are the abominations of the Church. They are the corruption that is defiling the Church. |

I will suggest you do the following: Write the welfare department at the Headquarters, copy the Regional head, State head and Zonal head. Make them understand that you are on the verge of losing members to competitors, assure them that being a new branch with growth potentials, it will repay the assistance and loans sooner. They may help you or they may send you to another branch, replacing you with someone with proven records of building a new branch without asking for assitance. A 100k 'bombardment' of needs in the circumstance you just narrated means you really have poor members. In some branches that amount is just a school fees for a ward. You can decide to meet well- to -do individuals in your former branch to help out. The problem with this is that most people are beginning to see most large Pentecostal Churches as Business Centers and Commerce especially with the crass display of wealth and luxury by the Executive Officers. And contributions like this, that will help grow a franchise or branch are often done with reluctance. People like me will prefer to give to the poor or render assistancs without affiliating it to any Church enterprise, which to me is a direct marketing for a Church brand. You may also tell the poor ( calling them beggers is derogatory) the true financial state of your branch. Those who will stay, stay; the rest can move to another brand where their needs will be met. Galatians, Colossians, Hebrews and Romans] What you pay from your earnings and name it tithe, is not tithe. It is the corrupted version of it. It is neither the tithe of Abraham nor the Jewish tithe, it is not also a Christian tithe because there is no such terminology among the early Church. Till that time when men of gods spurred by greed besieged the Church with the ideas of running empires and businesses it was not talked about. Of course, it is not a sin to give an offering of 10% or anyother % of your monthly salary for any good course. You only gave an offering and if you gave it out of obligation or compulsion, then it is no longer the Christian offering. Offerings, alms giving, charity and kindness attracts blessings which are not tied to the amount or percentages but to the cheerfulness of the act. E.g. Mr A who gave 80% of his salary grudgingly, i.e. thinking of other things he would have used the money for is not likely to attract more blessings than Mr B who gave 1% thinking of how he could give more to better the lifes of his/her neighbour the next time. 2 Likes |

An2elect2:Nothing but the truth. In addition, the Newbreed Christian tithe law which demands that people should bring a 10% of salary (money) didn't originate from the Bible. Jews gave a 10% of farm produce for the temple store house. There was money then yet nobody was asked to tithe money. Jews had a tithe break and observed jubilee. Jews also ate tithe ( referring to farm produce) with strangers and poor among them at some seasons. Concerning Abraham, the period before the law, he was only recorded to have given tithe just once in his lifetime. And it was not his earnings but spoils of war. People who give a 10th of salary to a Church are not different from the person who gives 0.5% of his/her salary as both givings are rightly offerings. 10% of one's salary does not represent the Jewish tithe or the tithe Abraham gave once. In some Church enterprises they load people with guilt of not paying tithes as if it is a crime against a Christian law punishable by dearth of all financial incomes in the non-tithers life. Some devised a means of stratifying the Church goers in their buildings into tithers (just bring something), non-tithers and faithful tithers (bring 10%) in a register just like the twitter user observed. Now, this is far from the truth. The blessings of God in Christ Jesus is accessible to all who truely believe in the completed work of Christ. That blessings does not depend on 10% salary or profit submission and the blessings does not select people based on tithe. If men of gods were God not only will they ostracize people from Churches for not submitting a 10% of salary, they will create a special Hell of suffering for people who do not obey the order. I was in a service in one Pentecostal Church years ago when a Pastor on instruction from the Headquarters asked all the first child to come out and redeem themselves with certain amounts for them to be free of troubles. Most likely he was taken to the mortuary alive but unconscious and regained consciousness there just as they brought the body for embalming. They cannot resurrect any dead mosquito let alone a dead person. They should take the prayers to the other corpses at the mortuary. Even the wife knew her husband was sleeping but the church marketers so quick to attribute the powers that Prophet Ibiyeomie lacked to his ministry are there in their numbers promoting the franchise.
