Nashville: I had about the same amount of money at age 26 and do you know what I did? I bought a small 3 bedroom house in Abraham Adesanya Estate after Ajah in Lagos. Today that house is worth 18 million.

Buying a Range Rover will be a stupid decision, you need to plan for the future rather than squander all your resources on the present. I also don't think you are ready for marriage yet from the way you sound and your relationship is still young. I will advice you make a real investment, preferably in real estate. Range Rover ko, Land Cruiser ni!

99cent: OF COURSE no licensed doctors will perform it. late term abortion is actually already illegal in many places.
Abortion then becomes an underground procedure performed by quacks (same ones who probably shoot up drugs etc) thereby further endangering the lives of the vulnerable young women (physically and financially) who are being criminalized.
these women who go for these procedures already have tons of problems. what exactly do u gain from shutting them further out of mainstream health care system?
That was just my opinion. I'm no legal expert. You asked for my amateur opinion and I gave it.

Katsumoto: Are you a toddler?

There are Indians, Nigerians, and Jamaicans in London. Does that mean that there are no people originally from London?
And who are the people originally from London? undecided

London was founded by the Romans. After the fall of the Roman Empire the people of Britannia ( today's welsh people) occupied most of the island. Then the Anglo-Saxons (today's English people) invaded from Germanic Europe. Then the Normans (today's scandanavians) came in 1066. Then people started mixing and intermarrying.

So who come get London? If you're talking of those born in London, I know some Yorubas whose grandparents were born in London. Many Jamaicans were born there.
Many white Britons were also born there. So who come get London? Bc no be the British people wey found the city.

However, I don't know the full history of Lagos, so I can't tell who get Lagos. I assume it has belonged to Yorubas ab initio but I don't know. But London has not always belonged to the British. The Romans founded the city.

99cent: you can't make something "illegal" if there is no punishment by law for it.
if you don't get that logic then srry, I can't help u.

women were stoned to death by law for adultery in biblical times. jesus condemned it and for christians to try to take justice in their hands for what they see as crime against God will be very hypocritical. their "self-righteous" cover will be blown.

the mere fact that they want to make it ILLEGAL suggests that they consciously or unconsciously want it to be punished. You can see it in the posters they use for their campaigns. they call the women "murderers" and other harsh words. But when they are asked to state the punishment, they get tongue tied. as if they forgot what the punishment is for murderers. hahahaha. clearly, if they are arguing against abortion from a religious standpoint, it's hard to argue for a legal puishment because it makes them look like hypocrites if they truly ask themselves "what would jesus do"
If you want my opinion, I'll say the doctors who do the abortion be punished. Their license revoked and they'll be suspended for sometime eg 6months for first offenders etc.

Read your bible, Jesus said those without sin should cast the first stone. He didnt condemn punishing adultery but he didnt make it a priority of his mission either. That he was bent on forgiveness doesn't mean he would condone adultery.

What would jesus do? Jesus would be Pro-Life cool
HE loved children so much. He wouldn't want them murdered even before birth by careless women and heinous doctors.

You guys have your hands stained with innocent blood. You will not go unpunished. Either here on earth or in the hereafter. God does not sleep.

So this is the focal point of 21st century feminism?

davidylan: @ Toshmann, you can spin it all you want but i will repeat it again... the reflexive, thoughtless, unhinged, hysterical opposition to anything Obama says or does is primarily motivated by the color of his skin.

And they cant "stand" Obama because? Did he kill their mothers? there are MANY democrats who are also racist.

Most of the southern democrats who killed the civil rights bill are republicans today.
I'm not spinning anything. Of course I agree that there's racism. There are democrats in this day ( not the Dixiecrats of the 60s) who are also racist up here in the north. Many in the closet but I know one or two democrats who supported Hillary Clinton in 2008 and ended up in tea party in 2010-2012. I guess they'll return to democrat party in 2016 when Obama is off the ballot grin

Yes, there may be racism in the tea party but there's also politics. Would you call John Boehner racist? Or McCain? These are politicians who do their thing. They try to win election period.

99cent: Only you fail to realize that the joke is on you and the anti-abortionists.
how can someone campaign for 5 yrs to make abortion "ILLEGAL" yet they never thought about the punishment for such a crime? does that make sense to you?
They realize that they are no different from the pharisees stoning the woman to death in d bible. Jesus came out and said to them, anyone who has not committed a sin amongst u cast the fist stone.
SCAPEGOATING that's all it is. SCAPEGOATING. of course the most vulnerable people in society are those whose "sins" are deemed most punishable.namely women and children
why can't they mention what they feel the police and justice system should do to women who abort? hahaha hypocrites.
they have hatred seething in them but they are ashamed to say their mind that's all. their self-righteous cover will be blown if they do say their mind about how they want women who abort to be punished.
i'm sure most of what you guys are saying on here, I can bet a million bucks you cannot go out in public and say the same things that u say in privacy behind ur computer screen to make about women.
I really don't get your logic. That they don't have any punishment in mind for the abortion lovers means they are evil and the same as Pharisees who had a ready punishment of death?

Or you can read their mind and know they have ultimate unspeakable evil in their min for abortionists that they can't even say it out?

99cents u too much grin

davidylan: The above is the reason i am convinced the reflexive, thoughtless, mob-mentality opposition to Obamacare has more to do with the color of his skin than anything else.
There are racists everywhere! I you think there are no racist democrats, think again. Did you know that some tea party "members" are actually democrats that can't stand Obama?

But beyond racism, there's also politics. Okay look at this, in the 1950s, the US president was Dwight Eissenhower, republican. He sent federal troops to protect and enforce Supreme Court Decision to integrate schools in the south, he also sent a civil rights bill to congress.

His civil rights bill was killed in the senate by the democrats. Guess who was the head of the senate democrats. . . . . . . Lyndon Johnson! Yes, the same Johnson that later became president and pushed congress to pass civil rights. And took credit for it. Politics, strange, isn't it

Abe Lincoln once said he didn't care about slaves but wa more interested in Saving the union, he later advocated for an end to slavery and deportation of all blacks to Liberia/Sierra leone. Same lincoln later wrote the emancipation and pushed congress to speed of constitutional ammendment to end slavery.

Obama voted against govt spying on Americans, and today Obama . . . . . . lipsrsealed

John mcCains last campaign was anti immigration. Remember his ad "build the dang fence".
Today the same John McCain is spearheading immigration reform.

Politics, the more you look. . . . .
I just have my principles and follow it through. I have voted for some democrats in Ohio. I voted for senator Brown of Ohio. But I usually vote republicans.

So there's racism, there's also pure politics.

99cent: @toshmman and biolabee,
you both want abortion to be illegal. what do you suppose the punishment for abortion should be? should women who perform abortion be convicted as murderers and sent to jail? they should be punished the state or by God?
watch this youtube video
Even the YouTube video you put up shows that the anti abortion campaigners have hardly thought of punishing the women. cheesy
All they think of is stopping the killing of yet-to-be-born-babies. Doesn't that contradict your opinion of me
anti-abortionists are just radical/extremist christians. not any different from radical terrorist islamist. both oppress women and use religion to justify their scapegoating of the poor (more likely to have abortions) and marginalized (women, children, gays etc)!!
If the only thing you know about terrorist Islamic extremists is oppression of women then you should start listening to real news. Terrorists kill. That's what they do. Hence, ipso facto, they have more in common with abortionists bc they both kill!

there is such thing as separation of church and state for a reason. if you don't support abortion. keep ur views private to yourself. next they will be calling to jail single mothers. these are the most dangerous terrorists society should be most watchful of. the ones in our midst. the extremist christians/homophobics/women-oppressors etc

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iD97OVJ4PNw
Your YouTube video contradicts your notion. People have been campaigning to end abortion for 5yr and they have never thought of what the punishment for it should be.
That's the mind-set of anti abortionists. Just stop the killing of these babies. Period! We hope abortionists will listen. We don't even have plans for punishment, except in the mind of 99cent grin

In the video below, Chomsky of course touches on the fact that women who perform abortions tend to be lower income and lack the proper access to health care and information. And that anti-abortionists should rather concern themselves with issues of high mortality, child infectious disease and health care if they are genuinely concerned about children.
towards the end of this video, you see footage of an extremist "christian" proposing that anyone who says "goddamn" in public should be executed for the crime of blasphemy. he also goes on to say that gays (he calls them sodomists) and feminists should also be executed! This is a right-wing christian. your typical anti-abortionist.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T5RU2LqA1FQ
I'm yet to watch the second video but let me say, I also fight for universal healthcare.
When I mentioned it in an earlier posts some people laughed at me bc I said I'm republican. You guys confuse republicanism with the tea party of today. One of the first presidents to propose health reform was teddy Roosevelt. Republican president from 1901-1909. Also Richard Nixon (republican president from 1969-1974/5)

Even Bob Dole proposed a health reform that is more liberal than what Obama did (which he largely copied from what Romney did) .

I can speak for myself, I care. I really do care. Take care of the poor, end abortions, make the world a better place.

Morsi closed the avenues for democratic change and was playing tin-god Pharaoh.
The people did not invite the military. The military had to rescue the country from slipping into further chaos.
Moreover it is the equivalent of their Chief Justice who is now heading a TRANSITIONAL government that will hold elections later.
The problem with most people is that people think democracy is the same as good govt. no, they ain't the same. But democracy is the best LONG TERM route to good governance but democracy must be allowed to grow.
Undemocratically Busting an elected govt after just one yr doesn't smell good.

fellis: That's not true. Legalizing abortion does not automatically mean that women will go about sleeping with many men and stop worrying about pregnancies. Even if abortion is legalized, women will still use protection because they stand the risk of contacting STDs if they don't. Besides, abortions are risky business and can lead to a woman's death or loss of her womb. Its not like women are going to rush into doing it as soon as they get the chance just because its legal. They just want the option to be there, they want to be free to get abortions when necessary and at whatever stage of the pregnancy they want it.
ok, I get that. Lets just say, we disagree on abortion. Just as you are pro women's right pro abortion, I'm anti-abortion. We will never agree on that. smiley

Dee60: Nothing.

Nigerians do not think about their country except when the Super Eagles are playing. Nigerians think only about themselves. There are 170 million individuals in Nigeria, each man minding his own thing and running his own show, generaing his own power, pumping his own water, and running his own personal economy.

Egyptians love their country and are area ready to make their leaders accountable. Here in Nigeria, it is chop i chop, everyone is on the queue for his own turn to chop, and no one wants to rock the boat?

Do we really have a nation?
Emphasis is on the last sentence. Most Nigerians think of themselves as either Hausa/Igbo/Yoruba/Efik/TiV/jukun/idoma/etc. which rival each other. that leaves almost no one to think of Himself as Nigerian (unless he is outside the country) .
Hence if we have a bad leader, when the people should stand up against bad leadership, the people from the bad leaders ethnic group/state/ LGA etc will defend even indefensible actions of the bad leader. How can nigerians revolt. Revolution needs national unity.

Why not, you feminists are willing to empower women with unwanted pregnancy to travel to Europe to get an abortion but no one is willing to emphasize prevention of unwanted pregnancy and personal responsibility.
