fellis: Toshmann, since you are so against abortion let me ask you two questions: what if a woman is rayped and she gets pregnant? What should she do about the pregnancy? carry it to term and bear a child that will remind her of her raype and raypist for the rest of her life?

What about cases where giving birth to a child places the mother at risk of dying? Like when the mother has a heart problem or respiratory problem etc? Should she go ahead and have the baby and then die during childbirth leaving the baby without a mother to take care of it?
If you read my earlier posts( which you didn't read bc you just want to argue) I said except in therapeutic abortions where the life of the mother is at stake.

If a woman is rapedd in America, she may want to report to the police within 72hrs of the rap.e where she'll be taken to the doctor for treatment against STD and unwanted pregnancy. The idea of doing nothing and then stepping out when the fetus is 7months gestation to start asking for abortion rights is unacceptable.

Hope I answered your question ? smiley

99cent: the funniest thing is that blacks are usually the most sexist and homophobic.
partially because whites have power over them, they in turn look for where to gain power and decide to lash out against women, children and gays.
I'm not sexist. I love my sisters and aunts and female friends. I don't believe women should be denied their freedoms. I oppose domestic violence and rape. I believe women should get equal pay for a job that men get paid for.

I detest homosexuality and lesbianism but I support gay rights. I hate homosexuality not bc I'm black but bc of my religion. Christianity is multiracial. However I understand that the US is a secular state run by a constitution and not the bible. Hence I support gay rights. Also I hate oppression. So when I see a minority ( LGBT in this case, unborn fetuses in another case) being oppressed I'm offended.)

in fact, good thing that many of the women are single because I am 100% sure many of those kids will suffer from the hands of abusive fathers more than they suffer from being raised with single mothers!!
Responsible single mothers are preferred to abusive fathers. No Debate!

those statistics claim that children fare better under 2 parent household. yet u cannot know how those one-parent children will fare if they had been raised under the same roof with their fathers (i am talking about black ghetto where there is extreme pathology of violence and crime). the women are single for a reason. the men are probably impossible to live with.
even white society puts them in jail because they are dangerous to society. how much more danger they will pose when they are sharing the same room with women and kids!!
Like I said, responsible single mothers are preferable to abusive fathers. However I have to point out that this debate has finally settled into what I always suspected it will be. A fight between black men and black women. It's ugly, I've seen enough of it online. And each time what I see is a race that is utterly suppressed in this country who instead of standing together decided to turn on each other. The black race remains the only race I know where one black is proud to tell people of another race how bad the black race is, and how he/she is different from other members/group of his/her race.

I live in Ohio, about 80-85% white, I've seen enough black guys telling their white girlfriends how bad black girls are and black girls telling their white boyfriends how bad black boys are. I've also seen whites laughing at them all. The body language of your argument has started going that way. Unfortunately.

But you know feminists can argue their points, if any, without pointing fingers at men.

99cent: again, why is it ok that the men can do all these horrible things and go scot free while women are persecuted and blamed for ills?
yes they did "wrong" to open their legs or walk alone on the street or wear clothes that make them look hot.
but are you now advocating that women should wear burqa because otherwise, they are at fault if anything bad happens in society?
do you prefer that we turn into a muslim society?
god forbid the day we start stoning women. like they do in northern nigeria.
D'you realize that all I said is that women should be careful about the kind of man they sleep with. If perhaps they are so much in love with a nuisance, they should at least take preventive measures against unwanted pregnancy. Is that difficult? huh

Many women do that and they have no problems, no pregnancy and no baggage of bastards to bring up.

99cent: hahah what do you think feminists have been saying for hundreds of years?
bill gates has a mission to sterilize women all over the third world (esp. india) for being "poor"
it's all part of the Malthusian theory
even in israel, black women there were being sterilized.

again, the most vulnerable people in society are always blamed for all problems and target for harsh treatments.
that's why feminists fight to gain power in society.

trust me a single mother who is a CEO of a company cannot be touched. even if society thinks evil of her, they can't do anything to harm her.
where as, if she were vulnerable, she can be harmed and then the harm will be justified based on the opinion that she is the cause of all evils.

wonder why misogynist men like to say children are raised better in two parent households. yet they ever focus on the missing part of the story: the man. where is the man? what is he doing?
as if these misogynist men even care at all about children.
in fact, those single mothers could have chosen to put their kids in garbage and dumpsters. yet they sacrifice to raise these kids singlehandedly while the "father" is out somewhere absolved of all responsibility (if he is not paying child support). duh. it is obvious where majority of the blame should fall. isn't it?
Which is why women should be careful the kind of man they open legs for. I'll be honest with you, and this is my opinion, not govt policy, just toshmann's opinion, I feel no pity for these women that are littered with children from different men. It's no accident. It was her choice, her plan, her execution. Unless she was raped. Otherwise, she saw a man, hopeless man, opened for him, didnt use condom, or OCPs, got pregnant, not married, saw another man, did the same etc. I feel no sympathy for them, but I feel sympathy for the kids. It's not their fault.

I've seen a prisoner in a documentary who impregnanted 4 of the female prison guards.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1W2OAfCmZOc

And I ask, these prison guards didnt see any other man in this world to open legs for? They all let this man in prison to get them pregnant? Then tomorow they start crying out for welfare, absent fathers and single parenthood. WTF huh

99cent: you would assume that mysoginists like you would support a mass campaign to sterilize poor blacks by now.
in fact, I actually support less fertility for blacks. I agree that if blacks are living in poverty, they should not be procreating as much. all men who have criminal records by age 16 should probably be sterilized.
I wonder what feminists would say if a man suggests women are sterilized grin

PeeDaVinci: i think 2 different issues are being mixed up here - faking an accent and learning a new accent (and maybe, a new diction) to make yourself more understandable to some set of people.
Sure, people mix up the two

lagerwhenindoubt: The Business Sector loves fake British Accents especially.. looking to close that deal? it helps if you have a British Accent. grin grin grin grin
Ohio, you can tell a very good lie in British accent and people who know its a lie will swear that they believe you grin

American chicks love the British accent like ice cream. They also love clear correct English in a soft understandable foreign accent. ( bc they know they, Americans, don't speak good English grin )

kevoh: Just speak slowly and clearly in your thick Naija accent people will definitely understand you.
You wish. People here will keep struggling to understand you. You won't believe how hard it is for some of them. The first girl I met in Britain, I asked her to pass me the pillow. You'd think pillow is easy to say. I said it three times and then I had to point to the pillow before she understood. And don't forget, different parts of Britain (like USA) have different accents. Just wait for the scouse accent of Liverpool area grin

By the time you live and work with these guys for years, your Nigerian accent go change small. It's not faking, but it's not the same as it was when you lived in Nigeria. But it's not American Accent either. People in Nigeria may mistake it for American accent but its not. It's just modified Naija accent. It's not only Nigerians, it also happens to Indians, Koreans, etc. and this happens without you knowing it.

All those guy in Nigeria who speak phonetics are not displaying American or even British accents. Yes, I'm talking of pastor Chris, Governor Duke etc. what they speak is not American accent. And not British (I've lived in both countries)

As for nollywood, those ones na original fake accents. grin

I'm wiser than that bro, politicians say anything to win elections. You'd be damned to take any campaign speech seriously. I don't. Bc I know it's baloney.
Same Romany that talked of "self deportation" during the primaries turned around in the general election to be like a dove. Abegi, I look more at their history than their campaign speech.

Romney's history:

Romneycare.
Anti Confederacy statements he made in 2008 that made southerners to hate him so much.
Working with democrats in Massachusetts

My problem with him is that he wasn't very anti abortion as governor. He was mild on abortion.
Who's the confused man now?

davidylan: Single issue voters are America's greatest problem. You registered republican because you oppose abortion? The same republicans who care nothing for the baby AFTER he/she is born? Amazing.
Yes in a single issue voter. I'm not America's problem. I will vote for the GOP anytime in local elections bc I care so much about killing of unborn defenseless babies.

However, I support universal healthcare. I voted for Romney bc I know he won't throw away obamacare which is nothing but federalized romneycare (Obamneycare).

But that's a debate for another thread.

99cent: lol. no comment.
I wonder why those texas republican old men are hell bent on controlling women's wombs. hahahaha
goodluck in ur dreams of banning abortion to enslave women.rotflmao.

on another note, women won a battle last week to be able to get plan b contraceptives over the counter for all ages. obama fought for this and stands for women's reproductive rights. which is why women voted him in of course cool
http://www.nytimes.com/2013/06/21/us/fda-clears-way-for-contraceptive.html?ref=planbcontraceptive
it is things like this that will help reduce high rates of abortion in d first place.
In not against contraceptives. Condom is a form of contraceptive. I'm all for it, but once a fetus is there, forget it, it's a human being, it has rights.

And stopping abortion is not enslavement of women, it's protection of the unborn children. I don't know why a woman will go to great length to secure the right to have an abortion at 20weeks gestation. If you guys invested the same level of energy into personal responsibility you won't have an unwanted pregnancy in the first place.

Unless the life of the woman is a risk ( where she will need therapeutic abortion) abortion is immoral before man and God and must be stopped.

Ok, so this is what feminism is all about eh? Sorry.

you 'indirectly' called someone a b*itch, w*itch
and u get angry 0
Ok, I get you. Revenge mission. You win. I was making fun of that issue. But honestly, from the bottom of my innocent heart, I really dot know what to call you. I called you a girl and you got offended. I called a feminist in wales "a lady" she sent me a two page attachment e-mail telling me how she has just been offended. When I complained some other ladies in my class came to my rescue and said I could call them lady.
My nephew got into trouble in school for calling his teacher "a woman".

So you can call me naive if you will. But truth is, I honestly don't know what to call you or any self identified feminist out there. I just don't know what I'll say and they get offended. I've met quite a number of feminists in Europe and America. They are always irritable. I don't know why.

So what can I call you then?
Woman? Lady? What?

If abortion is what you want in feminism I'm sorry y'all will loose. The battle in Texas is not over yet. Have your fun but unborn babies have rights too. This abortion issue is the reason why I registered in the Republican Party of Ohio. What is wrong with y'all?

By the end of this decade it will be almost impossible to have abortions in most US states and this is a battle to save defence less unborn babies and not a battle to enslave women.

Yeye de smell. Okwa Texas. I trust them. You don't want a child, close your legs! You can't close your legs, use a condom (I can provide this for free cool ) . If a criminal rapes you, report to police and get medical attention within 72hrs of rape. Not when the fetus is 7 months old you start yelling abortion rights. It ain't gonna happen. Not in Ohio, and I'm sure not in Texas. You can go to New York or better still Europe.

Every door...[/quote]Violence and infidelity have no place in marriage. I always advice people to walk away for some time. Let the guilty partner take time to reflect his/her sins while the victim partner takes time to breathe some fresh air and also reflect on the way forward.

If there's no remorse in the guilty partner---> divorce is the key. For your safety. Run away. Many have died. Guns shots, pestle (in Nigeria), poison, knife stabs etc many have died at the hands of their partners

As much as I'm against homosexuality and lesbianism, I do not agree that gay struggle is the same as feminist struggles. In the case of gays, there is a law banning them from getting married and receiving the benefits.
There was also a law stopping them from joining the military.

I think these laws have been reversed by the US govt.
Politics › Re: We Should All Be Feminists- Chimamanda Adichie by toshmann(m): 10:43am On Jun 29, 2013
Domestic violence is against the law
despoil is against the law
Equal pay for women is now the status in US
Gender discrimination is against the law.

I honestly have no idea what feminists beef about. They have as much rights as any other person. If society or culture kinda doesn't like your ways, guess what, the law cannot force somebody to like you or have better expectations of you.

Abortion right is unacceptable. Bc we are not only taking about a woman's body, we are also taking about the right to life of the fetus. I'm sorry. It's not always about you only.

The worst thing about feminists is that many of them go about their campaign with so much rancor, bitterness and accusing nature that makes I seem they are looking for enemies.

As if that is not enough, their leaders at the forefront of the fight for feminism are either single or have faulty marital status. This doesn't help their course.

And before someone begins a feminist assault on my humble self grin , my opinion is my opinion and doesn't prevent you from living your life. The law protects you regardless of my opinion so quit complaining and start living.

Remember, there is no law against being a single parent. If that's what you want, go ahead and stop complaining.
