Meme16: I guess Atiku's son Covid-19 status has opened doors to know the victims. Now we know the status and death of Achimugu but my question is why were they hiding the victims before now (italian Index case in mind) when other countries revealed theirs, even politicians and superstars. I believe FG created room for doubts and nonchalant attitudes of Nigerians over this covid-19 in Nigeria, now it's spreading like wildfire. Pls let's stay safe. One Love! The only ones who were made known in other countries were people who CHOSE to have their status made public. It is against an individual's privacy to disclose their medical status publicly. No country disclosed the names of those infected, with the exception of individuals who decided to go public with the info, a decision they may have made as a result of being public figures. |

Had similar experience I used Uber 3 weeks ago and the driver coughed non stop,I initially thought it wasn't something serious until he sneezed.. My heart left my chest that minute I didn't say a word to him so he won't look back to respond to me.i turned my face out of the windscreen till I got home. I ran a hot bath immediately I got home with lots of Dettol, didn't want to take any chances I minimized my movement that period and each time I had an urge to sneeze,I would say a little prayer in my heart. Thank goodness it's more than 3weeks already and there's no need for me to fret again God save us all! Haha! Glad you are okay now and time has passed. It's like he had a regular cold. |

Earlystar698: In a statement signed by its president, Roland Aigbovo, the association said the mass action followed the failure of the FCT administration to pay them their basic salaries for more than two months.
Mr Aigbovo said their members have been thrown into financial distress due to the nonpayment of their salaries and despite repeated warnings and ultimatum, nothing has been done by authorities.
He said there has been salary irregularities and shortfalls since the migration to the Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System by the FCTA.
Association of Resident Doctors (ARD), Abuja chapterThe union leader said other health workers who are also affected by the salary shortfalls will join the mass action within 48 hours if their demands “which are the same with ours are not met.” How fair is it that people will work and not be paid? Haba!! I hope Buhari knows that he is at the mercy of Nigerian doctors now that coronavirus has circumvented his usual medical trips. |

Reference: Lagos 2020, London 1666, abeg what is the difference. What makes nations different, the buildings, roads, cars, etc...or the people and the way they live, the way their society is organised... I am certain the life expectancy of a Londoner in 1666 and a Lagosian in 2020 are similar. The fact that you can ask what is the difference shows you and Mr Muric are in the same boat. Good luck to you both and those that want to stay 3 centuries behind. The rest of the world has moved on. |

“Our message to Lagos lawmakers in the NASS is this: How many Lagos lawmakers have deemed it fit to visit the scene of the latest fire incident? Who is going to comfort the victims? Where will they sleep? How will they feed? Kudos to Lagos State government for doling out N2 billion for immediate relief but where are the people’s representatives at the federal level?
“Why is Nero dancing while Rome is burning? Your constituency is burning while you stand akimbo. We want to hear your voices on the floors of the Red and Green chambers. You must speak up for Lagos. You are not there for yourselves but for Lagosians. Cry out loud until the mountains, the hills and the valleys echo your voices. Lagos must not burn down.
“Nobody should tell us it cannot happen. London was almost completely razed down by a fire which burned for five whole days from 2nd September to 6th September, 1666. The fire started in the King’s bakery in Pudding Lane, near London Bridge. It destroyed four-fifth of the whole city. 13,000 houses went down and King Charles II had hundreds of thousands of homeless people on his hands. This must not be allowed to happen in Lagos. It will be the worst humanitarian disaster in Africa for decades. Imagine comparing Lagos in 2020 to London in 1666. Nigeria simply has an irresponsible government. Who gave planning permission for houses built in such locations? Who? Besides, must it always be negative things we deem fit to measure ourselves with developed countries? |

Martinez39s: This is not an issue of self-respect. This is an issue of rights. A man has the right to dictate the terms of his business. A Muslim has the right to run his restaurant for only Muslims; the same applies to a Chinese. It's his property; it's his business, he probably bought the place, and the rules are his to decide. No one owes you śhit in life and you are not entitled to what belongs to another man. If a man won't sell to you, go to another restaurant or go build your restaurant.
I am against racism, but I just have to say things as they are. Then you need to go back to school and understand what racism is. Rights ko, rights ni. It's even more appalling that you don't understand what is wrong with your initial comment to the extent of sticking by it. Let me take a guess, you also see nothing wrong with what Hitler did during his time? Racism definition prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed against someone of a different race based on the belief that one's own race is superior. |
