Education › Re: UNILAG Students Arrested For Attempting To Resurrect Colleague..see Pictures by tottinova: 2:34pm On Mar 29, 2016 |
Oshege: Four students of the University of Lagos, Akoka, Lagos, have been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command for attempting to resurrect the corpse of a 300-level student of Microbiology, Eniola Jacob .
The suspects are Inerima Alaniye (a 400-level student of Mathematics); Awe Raphael (a 500-level student of Law); Adeboye Adeshola (a 200-level student of Political Science); and Arawomo Stephen. It was reported that Jacob allegedly took an insecticide, Sniper, last Saturday on the campus.
He was said to have been rushed to the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idi-Araba, where he died on Sunday.
it was also reported that students who attempted to resurrect his corpse were leaders of the Cherubim and Seraphim Students Fellowship on the campus.
Jacob was said to have been a strong member of the fellowship before his death.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, said the students’ behaviour and actions at Jacob’s grave were suspicious, adding that they had been transferred to the State Department of Criminal Investigation, Eleweran.
The police spokesperson said during Jacob’s burial, the four students suddenly emerged and asked that the corpse be exhumed.
He said, “They were arrested at the graveside. They were arrested because their actions were suspicious. They insisted on exhuming the corpse that had been buried. They said they wanted to resurrect it. It came to us as a surprise that in this modern age, some group of young boys would come out and say they want to resurrect a dead man.
“We felt it was a strange development. If they were not cultists they would not make such a demand. We thought they were looking for parts of the deceased to tamper with and we took them to Eleweran for further investigations.”
The Public Relations Officer of the University of Lagos, Mr. Toyin Adebule, said he could not confirm the arrest of the students.
He, however, confirmed that Jacob took Sniper on the school premises.
He said the police had taken over the case and a corona inquest had begun.
He said, “This is a corona case and the school is not involved. It has nothing to do with the university. What happened was that he (Jacob) took Sniper and after taking it, the security was informed. He was initially talking, but suddenly he collapsed.
“He was rushed to the school’s health centre where he was resuscitated. Around 7pm, he was rushed to LUTH where he died some hours later. There is no indictment. I am not aware that some students of the school have been arrested.”

LazyGoat: Hello dear nairalanders, there is this thread i saw on nairaland fp, about a man with a female brest who came to a church. And since that day i saw that thread my mind has not been at rest ever since, because i have been living with the same condition for over 5 years now, without anybody knowing except myself. I have this big tissue on both sides on my brest under my nipple, it looks like a seed, at first when it first started it was so very painful for me, but now it is no longer painful. I think i have endured this very shameful burden for so long now and i think now its the time i seek some solution to it before it will be too late. Let me give a brief explanation on how this problem has affected my life in so many ways. I will be 22 on july 13 this year. It first noticed this tissue growing on my chest in the year 2009 it looks like a woman's brest and to make matter worst it did't match my skin colour its more fairer than my actual skin. It all started when i was still in secondary school i was in SS1 then, it caused me so many embarassment then because its showing in my uniform when ever the breeze is blowing towards my direction, you will notice that there is something in there, i avoided all forms of gatherings including my school assemblings, i avoided camps like a plague, i no longer use bare chest into the bathroom, not even singlet, i always wear shirts into the bathroom, since the year 2009 till date am still wearing shirts to the bathroom when ever am about to take my bath, and in all no body not even my mother or any of my family members has ever seen my chest or my back since 2009 till date as am typing this now, never had a relationship with any girl since then. It has caused me great pains and sorrows, i just think i should end my life now because of this problem am so ashamed of my self, i don't know what to do with my life my life has been very miserable and pitiful since this problem started i just hate my self, i always loves been alone and i only moves at night with my normal shirts, any single movement in the daytime from me i always goes with my big sweater to make it less noticeable. Am tired of life, my life is so frustrated and miserable all am always thinking about is how to end my life. please nairalanders help me please if at all there is any solution to this problem. I want to know and how much it will cost to get rid of it. . . Please mods help me push this to front page to get more reviews and replys. Is it growing on your back too |

Culture › Re: Breast Ironing- What Is This Horrid, Spreading Culture All About? by tottinova: 8:12am On Mar 27, 2016 |
onnybee: From what I could gather, this is a practice carried out mainly here in Africa that involves the use of instruments such as pestles, hot grinding stones, bananas, coconut shells, spatulas and coal-heated hammers to press, massage and crush the developing breast tissues of many young girls at the early stage of puberty.
This is done to prevent them from being attractive to males and hence prevent rape and other forms of sexual abuse.
This ‘culture’ is widespread in Cameroon and other African countries including Kenya, Benin and Ivory coast, and affects around 3.8 million teenagers overall according to the United Nations.
Breast ironing is usually performed by the victim’s mother on the basis that she is trying to protect the girl from sexual harassment and rape, to avert early pregnancy that would smear the family name, or to let the girl go after education instead of being forced into early marriage.
This practice is extremely painful and the girls are put at risk of tissue damage and cysts, malformed breasts, and in extreme cases it can cause one or both breasts to disappear.
There are worries that breast ironing has spread to the diaspora with an increase in the number of cases in Britain though charities, NGOs and human right groups are working to raise awareness concerning the problem. Anybody that iron presses my future wife's breast enh! Thunder will kill that person. Don't you know the female breast is my favorite female part. But to be sincere, you think performing this dirty ritual will reduce sexual harassment or whatever they are trying to prevent If people can rape 6 year old's and above, this ritual is useless |

Here is the aerial view of Victoria Island in the day and night, Third Mainland bridge in the morning and Lekki-Ikoyi bridge in the morning.
No wonder Olamide said " if I carry you go Lagos island, you go love Lagos o", its not a lie Lagos is beautiful...come and have feel our city.
Look at the traffic on Third Mainland bridge, fear that bridge when it comes to traffic.
